Gyro Jimmy's

This was my first time at Gyro Jimmy’s, and it was fantastic! The food was fresh, flavorful, and felt really clean. I had the gigantic beans, traditional lamb & beef, and a great pasini salad. Everything was delicious, and the plate portions were really satisfying. The place was really clean, and the manager was incredibly attentive, making sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

I will never go anywhere else for gyros! Gyro Jimmy is the absolute best. I picked up dinner tonight and the young gentlemen with curly black hair in the front was so nice! Months ago I placed an order over the phone and the manager was so kind! They really care about customer service. This place is authentic and tastes delicious and very generous with the portions! Definitely give it a try!

I don’t live in NY anymore but this is one of my go to’s every time I’m back. The platter is enough for two meals. Best gyro meat out there

Very tasty, fast and good quality. Not too expensive either. I enjoyed the meatless gyro and my husband had the traditional gyro and we were both pleased! I would definitely come back if we're in the area.

Been here several times. The employees have a good attitude and are helpful. The food is delicious and just as good if not better quality than if you sat down to $100 meal for 2 at a white tablecloth establishment. The sides are made fresh and so good, not typical Greek takeout. I always get the traditional gyro because it is so good I don't want to miss out on it, haha. I've tried enough here things to say that odds are whatever you order will be great.

This is a nice quick service Greek Restaurant that serves Carle Place and the adjoining areas of Nassau County. Not so easy to see, located in a shopping center off of Voice Road. Clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Card payments accepted. Nice stuff. Simple menu, which makes ordering easy.. we will definitely be going back.

*4.5 stars but will round to 5* I always wanted to try this place because it smelled so good from the outside. We placed a pick up order and was nice to see that folks were dining there - definitely a good sign. They also had the order ready so quickly, which was nice. We ordered: 1. Horiatiki (authentic Greek salad) - good with the right amount of feta. 2. Traditional gyro plate - healthy amount of food and the meat was tasty. I wish they were slightly larger pieces but it was fine. 3. Pork gyro plate - tasty with a bit more chew than the beef/lamb. 4. Beet salad side - delicious. 5. Greek slaw - loved the acidity. I would note that you do get some of this in the beet salad. 6. French fries - good, slightly oily. 7. Greek rice pilaf - nothing special. 8. Extra gyro - a good amount, seemed like the same portion in the platter. 9. Extra tzatziki cup - small for $2. Not sure why they gave whole wheat pitas instead of regular. I would definitely order out again.

Hidden in a strip mall off the beaten path, we have Gyro Jimmy's. We were doing some shopping and decided to drop in for a weekday lunch. Ambience: clean and brightly lit. Fast casual style like a chipotle or pizzeria. Food: Falafel - crispy and crunchy on the outside, moist and hot on the inside. One of the better falafels I've had in a while. 5/5 Pork Gyro - well seasoned chunks of pork. I would have preferred a little more fat on it, but to each their own. 4/5

Found a gem. First time to Gyro Jimmy's and it was a winner. I had a new salad. It was red cabbage, feta, grape leaves, and olives with a lemon dressing and I had gyro meat on top. Delicious. It seems to be mostly take out but we ate there. There are probably a dozen tables. The employees were very nice and service was great. We'll definitely be back!

The room was clean and welcoming. The manager was helpful in explaining the somewhat complicated menu. (You make your own combo.) The service was fast. The chicken souvlaki was juicy. If I'm in the area again, I'll be back.

Gyro Jimmy's is the friendliest place with the best gyros you will have here on the island. We have been customers for over a year sometimes visiting more than once per week and the food never disappoints. The consistently is remarkable. The staff and owner are super friendly and the place is very very clean. We truly love it here. If you're in the area, be sure to give them a try! They are in the same plaza where QZar is!!

Best Greek food in Long Island. Gyros are super fresh, salad taste crisp. Would totally recommend this spot and will deff come back here to eat

Came here on a god friends recommendation and holy cow. The food rivals that of Astoria's. The gyro is legit. Not those strips you buy from a food distributor. The seasoning is incredible. Tried the pork and chicken souvlaki and was hoping they weren't dried out as they tend to get dry and chewy. These were amazing. Freshly made, juicy and super flavorful. Service was amazing and the staff know all the regulars. Will be coming back here way more often. They do lunch specials for around $12 and you'll leave really full. Avgemono soup is legit. Not thickened with starch or flour. It's thin like it should be and super bright with lemon and chicken. Loaded with orzo. Highly recommend this spot. The spot itself is super clean and the bathrooms are immaculate.

I came in for a lunch special, and ordering at the counter didn't take too long to get the order. I did get gyro meat with pita, which was not together in a sandwich as I expected. It came with fries, tzatziki sauce, and ketchup for a complete meal. I got it to go, but there were plenty of tables for people to eat inside. It was a very filling lunch and the gyro/pita was good. The fries were a little soft. I would say it's a decent place to get some Greek food.

This is my first time at Gyro Jimmy's and they did not disappoint. The people were so friendly and helpful. The ambiance was nice and quiet and just comfortable. The food was soooooo goooood. I was so happy with my chicken souvlaki lunch special and hummus. My mom and I split the hummus and it was so much food we both ended up bringing half our lunch home. I am picky with my hummus because I love it so much. Their hummus was delicious!!! I will definitely be returning. You must come and bring a friend!

Don't know how this place is so highly rated. My boyfriend got severe food poisoning from here. He's been throwing up all night and had to skip work. For what its worth, the food itself wasn't anything special. Won't be returning.

Tried the beef/lamb gyro platter for delivery tonight. The meat was pretty good in flavor but slightly overcooked and drier than I would have wanted. The portion size was large: it can easily be a meal for 2 people.

Decent portions with a clean sit down area to eat at. The pork souvlaki and the French fries were seasoned well! Get the green beans for a healthy balance between the heaviness of the meats.

Big portions of food, not too much seasoning, yummy and healthy. Most importantly my picky eater kid loves it. Staffs are very nice and welcoming. You can sit down and they bring you the food no mandatory tips. When you finish you can just go, they will clean up the table. Will go again

Found this place by chance off a Yelp search. It's tucked into a corner of a shopping center off Glen Cove Road. Got a Greek salad with grilled chicken souvlaki in it. The food was exceptionally fresh, so much so that I went back within a week to get another one. And I don't live or work very close to this location. Friendly staff and nice space.

First time here and it wont be our last. Delicious food. Staff was very friendly, restaurant was clean and modern. I ordred a greek salad with chicken and my husband ordered the gyro. The flavors were outstanding. Highly recommend.

Great gyros and great customer service! We visited this spot recently ordering gyros and chicken souvlaki pita wraps along with Greek fries to go. The sandwiches were made hot and fresh and the meats were seasoned well and tasted great. The fries went well with tzatziki sauce and when I went back in after picking up to ask for more sauce, they gave me extra for free instead of charging me which I really appreciated.

Although there are quite a few casual Greek eateries in these parts, none that I've tried can compare to Gyro Jimmy's in terms of taste, quality, and pricing. My takeout order was beautifully packaged and ready on time which I always appreciate. Ordered the "Tasting Trio" (hummus, eggplant and taramasalata) appetizer to start, a huge portion of creamy goodness accompanied by a generous helping of yummy toasted pita chips. In fact the app was so large that we had to save the rest of our food for the next meal (no problem!). We both liked the hummus best but all of the dips were great. I'd never enjoyed a Cretan (Dakos) salad before so when I saw that on the menu I had to order it. Comprised of ultra-fresh diced ruby red tomatoes, creamy feta, capers, stuffed grape leaves and olives studded with large bread croutons, the salad was uniquely delicious. Got a side of the lamb/beef gyro as an extra protein, sliced thin and very flavorful. Hubby loved his gyro platter as well, especially the green beans that were cooked with savory carrots. Thank you Andie and my fellow Yelpers for posting about Gyro Jimmy's. Since it's a small place in an obscure strip mall I might never have found it otherwise, and that would have been a real shame. Can't wait to return!

Hidden Greek gem and super glad I visited this joint based on many great Yelp reviews. My go to Greek sandwich, The pork souvlaki on pita with everything and extra hot sauce absolutely hit the spot. Every single bite was packed with flavor, and the pork was perfectly marinated. The pita's charr was mind blowing good. I've eaten many many sandwiches in New York and Long Island, this is definitely up there with the best. Keep doing what you're doing. Don't change a thing.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Jimmy! I've been to Gyro Jimmy's a few times and love their food. Everything is made to order and fresh. Whenever I'm in the mood for a gyro, I usually order the lamb/beef gyro. Today, I saw that Gyro Jimmy's has a pork gyro (not to be confused with pork souvlaki). I gave it a try and dare I say...I liked it more than the usual lamb/beef gyro! I liked it so much that I think the pork gyro is now my go-to sandwich going forward! It was delicious and didn't seem as fatty as the lamb/beef gyro. The sandwich also had a perfect ratio of meat/salad/tzatziki sauce/french fries! Delicious combo. Service and hospitality were friendly and welcoming; restaurant is super clean; plenty of parking outside. Prices are very reasonable. I shall be back!

Love this little spot, the food was good, their is lot to choose from the menu. The staff was nice and its also clean.

Stopped in to Gyro Jimmy's after doing some errands in the area. The restaurant is pristine and there was tons of tables. They offer great lunch specials! I loved their spinach pie & salad. I ordered a soup too, but the lunch special was so filling, I ended up taking the soup home. One call out is that they use high quality ingredients. You could taste the difference in their feta, olive oil & dolmas. That really stood out to me... really impressive. Also the staff is LOVELY! Very sweet & attentive. They were kind enough to bring over a glass of water, ever though I didn't order a drink with my meal. I can't wait to go back & try more!

What a cool place to grab a quick bite to eat. Awesome food super fast service and a wonderful hospitality.....food was fresh and service was nice and staff very professional....even though this place is sort of a fast food service. Staff came around to our table to ask if everything was fine . Even brought us each a cup of fresh water with out asking . Hands down great service

Yo Jimmy! I was going to hit up my usual lunch spot when Yelp suggested a Hot & New business. Tucked in the back of a strip mall is Gyro Jimmy's. I start talking to the manager about the menu, lots of the items we discussed are homemade. And I dig that! First time here so I ordered a beef & lamb gyro with no onions. I'm also noting, their sandwiches can also be upsized to a platter. My sandwich comes out pretty quickly. This is a pretty hefty sandwich! The meat cuts are fresh and flavorful, the pita bread has a nice toasty exterior, this is a well dressed Gyro. Day two, I invite Frank out to a Christmas lunch. I am going to have a busy few weeks so I wanted to have a nice lunch with my buddy so I suggested Gyro Jimmy's. We walk into a very clean space. Frank looks over the menu, as for me? The next item to tackle is the Falafel sandwich. Frank orders a traditional sandwich and asks for no tomatoes. Frank's gyro was loaded with tomatoes. My sandwich has two Falafel balls with covered with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. There were no french fries or sauces on my sandwich. I asked for a side of Jimmy Sauce and was also given Tzatziki and Tahini sauce. I've been here twice and honestly, I can't wait to return. There are menu items that are calling me, Avgolemono, Spanakopita Spinach Pie, Horiatiki Greek Salad topped with Gyro meat and of course, their Baklava. JImmy Gyro's is a nice spot for a sandwich along with a great price point.

Very fresh and good portions of meat. We both got the platter, which comes with a protein, two sides, and a sauce. I was going to ask for tzatziki anyways, but they didn't ask which kind. Make sure to specify if you want something else. Dinner rush came with a lot of online orders, with only a few staff to manage everything. However, food was great and came out rather quick. I would come back again.

Food was okay. Place is nice and clean. Ordered the traditional gyro, just the sandwich. Was told that I could do the lunch combo that included a drink and fries, so I opted for that paying $3 more or so. When the food came out, I asked about the drink and was told that the combo just means fries. When I tried to question it, I was told that a drink would be extra on top of the combo which I already paid almost $16 for. Hope a lower review was worth a can of ginger ale that I was supposed to have.

Got some food from here awhile back and loved it, very close to us so when I wanted Greek food again I was like this place again! I'm like how did we not know about this place despite being like 2 minutes away? If you want some good greek food, this is one of the places! Highly recommend. Can't say much else since only take out.

Located next door to Q-Zar laser tag this restaurant was a big disappointment. I ordered chicken souvlaki sandwich and my wife order the chicken chicken breast sandwich and a side order of fries. The place was empty but it took a long time to get our food. When it finally came the chicken was very dried like wood and the fries were very burnt. When we asked if we could swap out the fries we were told that we could order a new batch but would be charged for it. Not sure how this place hit 5 stars must be friends and family of which I am not. This is the first and last time I will patronize this establishment.

Tried it last night based on this thread. Was not good. Bland and everything had no taste. I checked with my guests and they felt the same way. Had four little French fries exactly and a few cucumbers as my sides. This was supposed to be two sides of fries and Greek salad. No lettuce four pieces of tomato and two cucumber slices does not make Greek salad. Together if they made half a normal side we were lucky. Glad it was early enough for me to get food somewhere else. The cafeteria style and eating out of take out containers with plastic utensils and no table service was a bit odd as well. I couldn't wait to get out of there.

Im from mineola born and raised; I don't know when this place came about but I swear it was a pizza spot before anyways I was very happy that it was gyro spot because I love a good gyro! I was around the corner at the 99cents store and was hungry; stopped in and wow beautiful spot and very spacious dining room. Very clean and the food was quick and fresh which I love. Id recommend this spot and id definitely be back.

5 plus plus plus Best authentic Greek option in area. A must try! i guarantee you will enjoy and return. The interior is neat, clean, modern, efficient, and casual. The exterior is also new and modern. They are off the main road in a shopping and commercial business area. You can see into the super clean and organized kitchen. I love that! Nothing to hide! I had traditional beef and pork American style gyro platter with 2 sides and a drink. They also have chicken gyro and Greek style stacked pork gyro. I has Greek coleslaw and string bean sides. Both were delicious, so was the gyro. The service was excellent. We were served by one of the owners and we spoke with another owner while enjoying our meal. What a great way to give buy with new customers! Im in! The owners seem like experienced and successful restaurant veterans. I will return. Highly recommend this place. I would consider this place for business or personal take out and catering. Would love to see some Greek cookies and baklava on the menu. Guarantee i would be grabbing some with my meal!

Yiasou Jimmy!!! My friend Gateway Iron works told me that you were the best thing to happen to Long Island & boy was he correct!! Today I ordered a chicken, pork & traditional beef & lamb gyro sandwiches... Omgg seriously hands down best I've ever had anywhere even better than Greece.. Astoria needs to take notes from you... I highly recommend this place & even thought you didn't have a driver to deliver oh man it was worth it the drive..!!!

Not an authentic style Gyro joint - more like fast food ! Not impressed - have had plenty of better Gyro's and souvlaki elsewhere. People write about total nonsense and crap in these reviews ??? Who cares - I wanna know how the food is - not great

I was on the road away from my home, where good Greek food is abundant, when I suddenly had the urge for some gyro. Given my high standards for good Greek, I was reluctant but then I decided to hit up Yelp and found this new place tucked in just down the road from the mall. I had decided to try to eat light to keep it on the healthy side, but the menu suggested otherwise - had to go with a gyro platter and saganaki, fried Greek cheese (because when you think healthy, think fried cheese!). Everything was delicious and prepared to order. The salad was fresh, the gyro was excellent, the pita grilled to chewy and crispy perfection. And yes, the fried cheese was outstanding. Everything was reasonably priced, the place was simple and clean and the service attentive. Couldn't ask for anything more. The next time I'm in the area again I'll be sure to stop by.

I had never order a pork gyro...this place makes a fantastic pork gyro!! Service is perfect! Great people! BTW it's a little off the path, just follow your GPS you will find this place just fine!! Cheers!

Did I spend over $70 on lunch for 3 people? Yes, yes I did. I'm not in this area often and I wanted to try as much as I could during my visit. Let me start off by saying the place is nicely decorated on the inside and super clean. I was greeted right away and asked if I needed help. I really enjoyed everything I ordered, their tzatziki is thick just the way I like it. I felt the servings were a nice size and everything was hot and tasted fresh. This is a great spot for Greek takeout.

It is truly a hidden jam for a quick Greek Gyro! We will share our experience with friend and families. We will come back for sure.

This place is fire!!! I have to say it's one of the best low key gyro places I've eaten at in the Nassau area. The meat is flavorful, the lemon potatoes are on point - not too overpowering on the lemon, and the ambiance is nice. The staff is super nice and helpful. They came by and asked if we were ok multiple times and even gave us recommendations on food in the future. They have an extensive menu and I can't wait to go back and try out more.

Surprinsingly good! The sandwich had big thick pieces of juicy meat, as opposed to those thin dried out slices you see often for this kind of food. Everything was fresh, prepared quickly and the staff is very nice. We'll definitely be coming back.
