Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings

"This Green Lake counter spot specializes in gyros, shawarmas, and falafel, but serves other stuff like cheeseburgers and milkshakes. You’ll never have to choose between a gyro and a burger again—because, really, no one should make such a tough choice. " - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo, gabe guarente

Saw this place was new and highly rated, so decided to walk to pick it up for dinner. Ordered Greek Fries and the classic Gyro. I ordered online and was a little annoyed that nowhere online or in the pictures of the menu in store did it describe what all came on the gyro, since every place does it slightly different (beef and lamb or just lamb, garlic sauce or tzatziki, with or without cucumber, etc.) but figured I could deal with however it came. The 5 minute walk from my place to the restaurant is the perfect length, and when I got to the store it was super clean. The person working the counter said hello and the vibes inside were nice, with several people eating but also plenty of room and a nice view out over the park. I arrived just as my food was getting set out so was quickly on my way. One short walk home, and I was excited to dig in. Unfortunately everything I ordered was just slightly off. The pita was overly cooked so it cracked when I tried to eat it like a wrap. There was something almost sour tasting about the gyro (maybe the sauce?) that I didn't enjoy, when normally I am crazy about even grocery store tzatziki. The Greek fries were under-seasoned and a bit bland; even ones on the side with no toppings were soft like they weren't fried enough to be crispy. The gyro meat was the one bright spot, incredibly moist and flavorful. I ended up mostly just picking the meat out of the wrap and eating that on its own. Maybe if I'd ordered less fast food esque dishes it would have been better? Overall I really wanted to like this place but don't think I'll be back unless it's just to grab a milkshake, which did look incredible. For the record the gyro comes with meat (guessing a mix of beef and lamb), lettuce, tomato, red onion, and cucumber with a tzatziki sauce.

It’s been a challenge finding a place with good hummus. We tried three different types with our meal and they were all sooo delicious! We found our new gyro spot and will be regulars! Update: Took the kids to lunch today and the hummus was even better than last time! We tried the chicken shawarma wrap, gyro wrap, chicken kebabs, chicken strips and Greek fries. I must mention the garlic sauce was the best I’ve had! (Not super strong and overpowering like we’ve experienced elsewhere.) Chicken kebab had great flavor and grilled perfectly, nice and tender. Wraps were a good size and the veggies were fresh. Everyone enjoyed their meals! Good size portions, love that it’s fresh and halal! They also offer burgers and shakes so there’s something for everyone here. Thanks for a delicious lunch and great service Gyro Master!

This newly opened Palestinian-owned restaurant on Greenlake Way is a true stand-out In a city overflowing with Mediterranean options —and for all the right reasons. Ambiance and Convenience One of my biggest worries about heading to Seattle is the hassle of parking, but not here. The restaurant is part of a newly built complex with abundant underground parking that’s incredibly easy to access. No circling the block endlessly - I just pulled in and enjoy the an stress-free experience. Inside, the ambiance is semi-casual yet refined, with a neat and clean, airy, open layout. Long front windows overlook the serene Greenlake Park, bringing in plenty of natural light and offering a glimpse of green lake that’s perfect year-round. In summer, outdoor seating will be a hit, while even Seattle’s gloomy winters can’t dim brightness inside. The Food Now, the star of the show: the food. Let me start with the chicken. It’s rare to find a Mediterranean spot that nails juicy, flavorful chicken without over-drying it out, but this place absolutely delivers. The chicken kabobs are tender and perfectly cooked, and the shawarma chicken strikes an ideal balance of juiciness and flavor. They have mastered the chicken game. The burgers are another standout. Fresh, juicy patties with a beautiful char-grilled smokiness make them irresistible. If you’re a fan of the Aladdin Char Burger in the U District, you’ll love this version just as much—if not more. You can stack the patties upto 3 (I went for three), and they’re layered with melted cheese, fresh pickles, tomatoes, and nestled in a buttery brioche bun. Lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, the burger lets the quality of the beef shine through. The freshness extends across the menu. The hummus is velvety smooth and rich, the falafel is crispy on the outside and moist inside, and every bite bursts with flavor. Same goes for the salads and fries. So… If you’re looking to rekindle your love for Mediterranean food or discover something new, this place is a must-visit. Don’t just take my word for it—its 4.9-star rating on Google confirms what I already know: this restaurant is a standout. Whether you’re craving fresh, flavorful dishes or a serene dining experience by Greenlake, this spot has it all.

We stopped in as first time guests and loved this place. The Gyro was amazing one of the best I have had in a long time. The Grek fries were also great. Super friendly and great portions, prices are reasonable as well. They have earned a repeat customer.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and saw this place is relatively new. Friendly counter staff and food was wrapped and ready to go for pickup Chicken shawarma plate and Gyro plates were delicious! Hearty portions and we have left overs for tomorrow at the hospital! Thank you so much

Yelp
I didn't take a picture as the Chicken Shawarma Pita with hot sauce was so delicious I was so hungry I forgot. The chicken was so moist and deliciously seasoned every bite was a taste sensation! I ate half and the other half two hours later and although the pita was a little soft, still as flavorful as when it was hot. So many flavors and the vegetables were so crunchy and great. Can't wait to go back might even be tomorrow as it was that good ... A friend also loves the burgers he goes multiple times a week for a cheeseburger.. Staff is so friendly and service was fast. Great view with Greenlake playfield across the street !

Yelp
Solid gyro place right next to Greenlake! Service was very kind and quick, and there is ample seating inside. The chicken shawarma tortilla wrap was delicious and chock full of juicy, well-seasoned chicken. Compared to Aladdin's in U-District, it feels more meat heavy since there weren't a lot of vegetables in the wrap (just tomatoes and onions). Some lettuce for extra crunch would've been perfect. Not bad overall though, and the value is definitely there. Will be back!

Yelp
There is something for everyone at this new restaurant in Greenlake. I was craving a gyro and this hit the spot, My daughter ordered the gyro fries and hubby went with the gyro salad. Generous amounts of meat and vegetables for each dish. I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and cucumbers in my gyro. The fries were nice and crispy. The restaurant opened a couple of weeks ago and sadly their front door was vandalized the night before. We were happy to enjoy a delicious meal while supporting a new business. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
My favorite gyro/shawarma spot! Always flavorful and delicious! I've recently been getting my shawarma on a tortilla and the tortilla is perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Gyro Master is definitely a must try!

Yelp
Gyro master is a great new place along Green Lake offering a slightly different spin on the local gyro offerings. They specialize in chicken kebab and chicken shawarma (actually made on a rotating spit unlike many other places) plus the usual gyro slices. They do not have beef shawarma or kebab; instead they have a whole section of the menu dedicated to burgers! It's a smart approach--especially near Green Lake--to serve something for a variety of tastes. We had chicken kebab plates, which come with a generous serving of grilled, marinated chicken breast, yellow rice, Greek salad, and hummus. Everything was fresh and tasty, but two elements deserve special mention. The chicken is the most tender and flavorful of any other Gyro place around, hands down. And the hummus is divine; thick, fresh, and authentic. You won't find a better hummus at any competitors, or anyway I certainly haven't! While you're enjoying a game, stroll, or hang lakeside, I highly recommend you let Gyro Master feed you.

Yelp
So happy to have a good value gyro place within walking distance in Green Lake! We've been in twice already, the staff is super kind and the food is delicious. We've had both the gyro plate and shawarma salad. Love that the gyro plate comes with lots of garlic and tzatziki sauce -- and the garlic sauce is to die for. The chicken shawarma salad was full of meat and also had a very tasty vinaigrette dressing. The prices were reasonable as well. We'll add this into our takeout rotation! Would be perfect to pick up for a picnic at the park.

Yelp
I'm still dreaming about my meal at gyro master. The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Even though they were busy, I got my food fast. The owner is very helpful and nice. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Good, casual spot to get dinner. We tried the falafel pita, chicken pita, and fries. Everything was tasty and the fries were nice and crispy. It's order at the counter and the food comes out pretty quickly. It really is the perfect location right next to Green Lake. We took our food to go and ate by the water! Solid new spot for a quick dinner.

Richard W.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and the location is great. We had the falafel salad, falafel pita sandwich, and the side of falafels (with hummus). Everything was excellent. The falafels are creamier than most places serve; it's a different consistency and flavor that I definitely recommend.

Yelp
Gyromaster is such a hidden gem in Seattle! It totally feels like going back home for anyone who loves Mediterranean food. The chicken shawarma was amazing--juicy, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The falafel was crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside, it had all those authentic flavors that made me feel nostalgic. And let's not forget the milkshake--it was the perfect sweet treat to wrap up the meal. Creamy and refreshing without being too sweet, it balanced everything out perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was really friendly and made us feel right at home. If you want a taste of home and some seriously good comfort food, you have to check out Gyromaster! I can't wait to go back for more!

Yelp
The business is brand new and saw it down the street from a friends. Thought I'd give it a shot since I love Mediterranean food. From the friendly hospitality to the clean place. I'll give it a 5/5. Proteins were plentiful so I hope they keep giving out that much meats but being brand new, it might be because they're trying to make a name for themselves. Either way, I recommend!

Yelp
This little gem of a restaurant serves delicious food, using very fresh ingredients that are cooked to perfection. Highly recommended are the chicken kebabs, the hommos, the salads and the falafel, but everything we tasted was excellent, even the chicken tenders and fries. Gyro master also has a number of vegan dishes. Additionally, the service was impeccable.

Firas A.

Yelp
Amazing food! I had the chicken kebab and falafel Salad the meat was so well cooked and seasoned! I think it's the best chicken l've had! The salad was filling and portions were generous. The staff was great, while I was there, there was a small kid and the owners were playing with him and gave him a free drink! It's so heartwarming to see them treat children so nicely! I'll definitely be returning here next time.

Yelp
This might be the best food spot in town. The food is amazing and very fairly priced. Large portions too. Staff is very friendly, excellent customer service. The workers here are all good people and they make great food. I highly recommend this place. Plenty of parking can be found in the back of the restaurant under ground . Falafel is my recommendation so good and freshly made

Kennadie M.

Yelp
Delicious! The staff were super friendly, and the portions were generous! I had the lamb gyro fries and my partner had the cheeseburger. We look forward to coming back!

Paul E.

Yelp
Swung by for a gyro and Greek fries and it was great. Everything seemed fresh, the pita was soft and tasty, the veggies were fresh, and the meat was flavorful a delightful. The fries were great as well. When I'm in the area again and looking for a gyro, I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Live in the neighborhood, noticed it just opened recently. Ate here for the first time today, best gyro sandwich I have had in many years
