Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ

We made a reservation for 8 people and had a delightful meal. Kevin, our server, is knowledgeable and attentive. Thanks to his excellent service we enjoyed our time at Gyu-Kaku.

Our host named Goncalo, he is one of the best server we had ever met. He managed to fulfill all the requests and be very humble and effective. Food is good as always, will definitely come again! If you ever had a chance to have him as your server, you will feel what I am talking about :) 100 star

The food was delicious and we had such a great time grilling it ourselves! AI was our waiter and he was very thoughtful and courteous. The restaurant week special is an incredible deal! We will definitely be back!

This establishment is well-regarded and has a strong presence in the community. While the prices may be on the higher side, the overall experience justifies the cost. The atmosphere is inviting, and there is an impressive selection of food and desserts available. I traveled a significant distance to visit this location, and I can confidently say that it was entirely worth the journey.

Today was my first time trying out Gyu-Kaku. Our party ordered the premium buffet. The premium had a large selection to choose from and everything was very fresh and extremely 🥩🥓🍤delicious. The only grievance our party had during our visit was the waiting time in between ordering dishes. We went around 4 pm on a Monday and there were only a couple other tables of customers, yet there were several times which we were waiting on more dishes to come out, or even waiting on the server to come out and take our order again. This coupled with a maximum time limit of 90 minutes seemed to limit the amount of dishes we could order despite being a “all you can eat” buffet. Our party ended up being satisfied by the end of the meal, however at a busier time I can only imagine this would not be the case. P.S. I highly recommend the ice cream 🍨🍨to compliment the protein rich buffet

The food is getting saltier and saltier, but honestly, that’s the least of this restaurant’s problems. The service has completely gone downhill—slow, disorganized, and blatantly discriminatory. We sat at our table for 20 minutes without a single server acknowledging us. not even a passing glance no “I’ll be right with you.” Meanwhile, customers who arrived after us were immediately greeted, had their orders taken, and were laughing with the staff while we were still waiting for basic service. At first, we thought maybe they were short-staffed, but no—the servers had plenty of time for other tables, just not ours. The difference? Well, let’s just say that at this Japanese BBQ restaurant in the U.S., good service seems to require a white companion as an entry ticket. It’s disappointing to see a restaurant operate like this. Food quality aside (which, again, is just getting saltier), no amount of seasoning can cover up the bad taste this experience left. If you enjoy being ignored and treated like an afterthought, go ahead and eat here. Otherwise, spend your money somewhere that actually values all its customers.

Always a favorite, highly recommend the prime kalbi and harami steak. Fast service and great servers, just a wonderful experience every time we come. Picture is of the smore to end the evening

Ok so if you have not been to Japanese BBQ before Gyu Kaku makes it feel so easy and fun, nothing intimidating. From the minute you walk in staff are excited and friendly. Our server Zaida gave us an explanation, checked on our table at the perfect intervals, we wanted for nothing. The ambiance is SO FUN and awesome place for a celebration, family meal, birthday! We will definitely be back we left full, happy, and felt like we had fun sharing a meal in a way you don't get on busy weeknights.

Having had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy this franchise in Japan, I was very excited to see it make its way to the US, and down the street from me! This restaurant is conveniently located in the same parking lot as the Burlington Mall, near the Tesla, charging stations. once entering the restaurant, it does have some feel of the traditional restaurant that I remembered in Japan. However, still not exactly the same, regardless it is still very nice, with vents strategically located above each grill, so as not to fill the restaurant with smoke of cooked barbecue meat. The options are amazing, with many choices of cooked meats and seafood. There are combo set meals for couples and parties of two or four. However, if you're up for the challenge, the all you can eat is a wonderful option. There is also a senior citizen discount for adults over the age of 55, which makes this a perfect place for birthdays with your parents.

Hellooooo BBQ ... Japanese style I don't know about anyone else, but I love Japanese style BBQ where you get to cook your own meats & vegetables... Be sure to bring your appetite cause there's a whole lot of options and combos for you to pick from. Mix & match, keep ordering, or pick one of their bundle offerings that certainly offer enough food for you & your group. Great & kind service, authentic offerings & comfortable ambience. Be sure to visit Gyu-Kaku the next time you're in the Burlington area. We got the Value combo for two and it was more than enough food to fill us up.

Almost everything is bad with this place, except the food, everything else is not organized, even if you have a reservation, you will have to wait for a good while, if you order on line it's even worse, I will leave it up to you to make a decision on going there.

Ai and Jack were both attentive throughout dining. Five stars for sure for customer service! The restaurant is having a promo set menu ($100 for two people) for a short time. The value is better than their every day menu. We were so full so we were able to share our food with three kids. Gyu is not known for their ramen so I had low expectations (fully cooked egg instead of onsen egg, soggy noodles) but kids were happy. The spicy pork entree is super spicy! You have been warned! The seasoning blended in all together after a while so nothing really stands out except for the garlicky shrimp and spicy pork. Tender and fresh meat so I would go back just for that. Easy and free parking. Interior is super clean.

Food is great, very delicious. Meat is very tender. Pechany is very attentive and the best server that we had. Great ambiance.

Been here multiple times. The food is not bad, not anything spectacular but it's alright. You cook it yourself anyway. The way they manage this business is terrible though. In my previous encounters, I was always seated 10-20minutes late, regardless of my reservation. Today, I reserved for 5pm, got told at 5:15 that there was still people ahead of me and I have to wait until they are seated before I can get seated. Lord, I reserved for 5. If the restaurant is packed, it makes sense somewhat, but half the seats are empty (see image) and there is a line of 15 people WITH reservations at the door. This place is so understaffed it's ridiculous, probably because gyukaku is too cheap to hire more employees. (My friend from another state visited last time and was told there is a wait time of 3 hours while half the restaurant is empty too) Burlington isn't lacking restaurants, go elsewhere that actually respects your time, I went to New Jangsoo bbq nearby because I got fed up with the waiting, and this place even cooks the bbq for you too.

Poor service. No waiter gave us any attention... too an hour for a waiter to notice us at all. Ordered dessert and waited 35 min for a damn dessert. Didn't refill any glass of water at our table.

I had the pleasure of being served by Nick during my visit, and I must say, he made the experience exceptional. From the moment we sat down, he greeted us with a warm and friendly smile, instantly making us feel welcome. Throughout the meal, Nick was attentive without being overbearing, checking in just the right amount to ensure our needs were met. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful suggestions and answering all our questions with ease. His positive attitude and genuine care for making our dining experience memorable truly stood out. I highly recommend asking for Nick if you're dining here - he adds that personal touch that makes all the difference!

Fantastic exp. Our server, Goncalo, was very attentive and kind providing us with suggestions and not rushing us at all. The food was exceptional and reminds me being back in LA where food thrives. The price given the inflation and the quality of food was right on the money and highly recommend anyone in the area to try it out.

Wonderful experience. Great place to share a meal with large groups. The warm meat melts like butter in your mouth. Yummy dessert to end the meal.

Despite being a chain, and despite being mostly all-you-can-eat, this particular location had great service, and the food was excellent. The quality of ingredients was completely solid, and the fun of cooking your own meal, especially with teenagers, is something everyone should experience! Definitely give this place a try.

This is a place you have to cook your own food on a grill. We had a lot of fun. There are more than enough options on the menu that we had a hard time deciding what to pick. So we ended up to try the course meal for 3 people, meat favorite. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The course included miso soup, sushi, salad, butter corn, different type of meat, and desert, all delicious. Btw, we had reservation ahead of time and were seated right away. We would recommend to make reservation if you dine in during peak time.

All-you-can-eat menu is newly unavailable on holidays, and the place where it indicates that on the website is not readily apparent. Staff very unhelpful in fixing this.

This place is fun. Nice inside with excellent service. The menu has several of these bbq options that you can choose from. Lower grade to fancier premium cuts. We tried the meat lovers choose and it was good and fun cooking your meal. Ends with a s'more. Recommend reservations as they were very busy.

Darren was a terrific server! He explained the whole delicious meal process and was very pleasant. Such a great meal! Will definitely come back!

This is my second visit and probably last. The servers are good (we had two). We tipped accordingly. But like last time (but worse), the kitchen operation is poor. The meats are marinated for a long time, so I don't imagine it needs to be "freshly made". But it took 20 min or more after ordering before the meats came to the table. They tasted fine because they are heavily seasoned. Then, very unfortunately, one out of our party of four had mild cases of diarrhea as soon as we arrived home. There was no alternative explanation (we cooked all the meats well-done) but food prep cleanliness.

We went for my aunts birthday party and ordered the set for 6 people. Now usually when I go to gyukaku I tend to not eat anything aside from the meat. I've had times where I've been to Korean restaurants and their kimchijigae and bibimbap are just weird tasting. So I've been avoiding eating those since. However, I tested my luck and tried it at this Gyukaku and was not disappointed at all. The beef teriyaki bibimbap was leaning towards the soy sauce taste, but not so overwhelming that I wouldn't finish it. The kimchijigae was very well balanced and I could've eaten more if I wasn't already full off of the meat. Even the cuts of meat compared to other gyukakus are like marbled better. It just tasted so fresh that I was willing to eat it medium rare. The restaurant itself is small in size and the space to wait for tables was pretty small, but the parking lot makes up for that. Our server was attentive and courteous. Overall, this experience at this specific location was very pleasant for me and I will very much go back once more. Although, I do recommend to never go without a reservation as they do get very packed.

First time there and even with reservations we had about a 15-20 minute wait. It is on the pricey side but the food options are great. It was delicious!!! Would go back there again.

Went on a Saturday and the service here is much faster compared to the branches in Brookline and Cambridge!! Super nice and attentive too, and much more spacious. Food was delicious as always.

Service: Non-existent, after the order we were ignored. First off, we had to take a place setting from another table, we tried to flag down several servers only to be ignored like a religious cult, my son had to go into the other room for soy sauce at the Sushi Bar, and never asked how our meals were. We all felt they wanted us to sit, eat, pay, and get out! Food: We had eaten there many times before the mid-Covid. At that time, the meals were very tasty and generous, enough for a teenage boy. Sadly, all four meals lacked in taste, the quality didn't seem the same and the portions were about half of what they were. My son ate his along with half of mine and that was after we had all consumed a few sushi rolls. We may be a little harsh in our opinions, this probably is because of our food/ sensory science backgrounds. Price: Our bill was $169 without a tip (this included 1 mixed drink and 1 soda). Our thoughts: Terribly overpriced for the quality, and service.

We've been receiving service from Jack every time we have visited this place and I do not know how well to describe how he changed the whole experience for us. His smile, enthusiasm and attentiveness really wants us to come back again. He always makes sure we have a filled cup of water, always have meat or at-least a plate of food on the table, and makes sure that we are always satisfied. I'm glad that Gyu Kaku has such a great team member like Jack. We hope to see him again when we come back.

Gyu-kaku is the best answer to "Where do you want to go for dinner?" You get your own little grill at the table to cook everything yourself, so much more fun than a standard restaurant. The all-you-can-eat menu is a great value, there is so much to choose from and the food is great! The service is always top notch, especially Jovan! He's the best server and we always request him because he's super friendly and helpful. Gyu-kaku is awesome!

If you like to eat meat, you should certainly check out this place. They have prepared food, the big thing is cooking raw meat yourself on your table grill. The only downside I see is concern about not cooking it enough, if you stick to steak you really can't mess it up and the risk is negligible, then you can work up to the other stuff if you like. Otherwise it's delicious and there are a million choices. The extras like miso and salad are not afterthoughts. This place seems to actually care that you are satisfied, not a given these days. Shout out to Dania for her recommendations and faultless service today. And I'm about to try the s'mores for the first time for dessert...

Goncalo is an awesome server! My friends and I have been coming here a lot lately and he's been our server. It's perfect every time!

Two months ago, my friend and I tried this BBQ place in Burlington. I made reservations for 7pm but we still had to wait for a table 30 minutes after the reserved time despite the fact that there were still empty tables. We were a bit disappointed that the AYCE was not available on Fridays so we ordered the Chef's Choice set meal. Standouts were the beef sukiyaki bibimbap, prime kalbi short rib, and harami skirt steak. Service definitely needs improvement. The only reason why I visited this location was due to the free ample parking.

Food was amazing!! It was marinated well and the service was top tier. My waitress was Pichanny & she took care of us well- always checking in on us and always refilling drinks. She had contagious positive energy & would love to see her again next time I go to gyu kaku!! 10/10 service & food.

Definitely make reservations if you plan to go here. Even when I made a 5:30pm reservations, my group of 6 still hade to wait 20 minutes. Service is slow. Our waiter favorite to come back to bring us waters and to takenour drink order. I had to flag down servers a couple of times for help. Food was good and the restaurant was overall clean. They do clean the tables relatively quick for the next customers.

Good food. Meats were tasty. Could use less salt in the carbs. Jack was awesome! Flexible and always addressed us with a smile.

We had 10 people in the group. The food is more on the salty side. Found a metal piece in soup. Manager apologized and offered compensations. But it did not happen. Found extra item charged on bill. We did not order it and did not eat it.

The meat are really nice and fresh. We love the Toro Beef and Hanger Steak. Our server Kevin is great. Always checking on us to see if we need to add anything. He is very thoughtful. We have great experience!

Great choices for all you can eat, meat was very tender, along with the sides are a perfect palate cleanser. Darren our waiter was extremely attentive and nice, and the food came out in a timely manner.

This was my first gyu-kaku experience. Took my brother here for his birthday. Mostly everything was phenomenal. We ordered the meat lovers course. We switched up a couple of the marinades. Only one cut of meat was not liked (it had a weird texture). We added some stuff like chicken, shrimp and veggies a la carte. It all came together perfectly. We were seated within 10 minutes of arriving on a slower weeknight without a reservation. The place filled up on a Monday night so I feel we were lucky to have a table without a reservation. Staff was attentive in changing the grill plate. Drinks and water were a bit on the slow side.

Ky was a very attentive server. Loved his energy and food was great. Was a pleasure to dine with his service. 100% recommend!
