TLDR: $50 AYCE Premium. You will get good meat cuts here. However, the sides, dessert, drinks and service are subpar.
We came around 7:00PM and got seated close to 8:00PM. There was a lot of people waiting to get seated which - at first - I took as a good sign.
Once we were seated, I felt the overall service and experience was just okay. Since the staff was really busy, we were ignored for quite some time and some food orders never came.
The miso soup I got tasted off. I do not know if the soup was left out for too long or if it was improperly stored or if they used old miso paste and that was the reason why it tasted unpleasant, but this this has been the first time I have had bad miso soup.
The spicy cucumber was also a disappointment. I do not know if it needed to maybe soak in the seasoning more, but the ingredients were not melded together. Additionally, the red seasoning they put was split up disproportionately (I'm not sure if that was on purpose).
Although I ordered the garlic shio cabbage for myself, I could not finish eating it because it felt like old vegetables with tolerable dressing.
The s'mores were nothing fancy, but they will get the job done if you're in the mood for chocolate, a sweet flavored cracker and a marshmallow.
The green tea ice cream I had was the 2nd best thing they offered at this restaurant, but the scoops we received were hard as a rock. See photo attached. It was tasty once I figured out a way to start melting it.
Meat-wise, I personally enjoyed the bistro hanger steak. I ordered that multiple rounds. The highlight of Gyu-Kaku is their meat.
With respect to parking, it's in a shared plaza with some non-valet spots available, but it looks like it can get pretty tight when there are a lot of customers.
The bathroom was clean and well maintained.
I liked the vibes of the bar section more than anything, but the restaurant itself is organized and the atmosphere is casual.
