H. B. Snallygaster's General Store & Cafe

This is a cozy little restaurant that is perfect for a relaxing dinner. Our waitress very attentive and kind. We had the potato leek soup to start and it was delicious. The braised pork risotto was so incredibly tasty and well balanced. I would highly recommend coming here if you are in the area.

First I want to preface this by saying the food was incredible and the staff were very friendly and courteous. However, although we were seated immediately and provided water, it took around 15-20 minutes for someone to come take our order, then, an additional ~25 minutes for us to receive our appetizer (a cheese plate). As we were waiting for our appetizer, we saw another couple abruptly leave, expressing frustration that they had not even had their order taken. Although the food was exceptional, we would not consider returning if it would mean a similar wait time.

I took out their ice latte before going hiking. It was my first time at Harper’s Ferry. I think this is almost the only spot you will not be charged for street parking. Their latte was good - I do not know how to elaborate it but it’s like a hipster coffee. Poor description but the only one I’ve got. It has a cozy feel and the staffs were very friendly. Their restroom was maintained clean too. There is a wine store area where glasses are hung upside down. The glasses did not look entirely clean but I did not go there to drink so… just sharing my observation.

Tried to eat here and even got seated, but then two other groups that came after us were waited on before us, which really pissed us off. I was a server years ago and the one thing that you never do is wait on another table, let alone two tables, before a table that was seated first. We were never even greeted by our server, nor were drinks even offered. That is just bad customer service. Drove by about 30 minutes later, on our way to another restaurant, after walking around downtown for a bit and by the amount of vehicles parked outside, I'm sure they could've cared less that we walked out. I don't know if the food is good or bad, but the inside was nicely decorated.

Super charming spot in Harper's Ferry. Stopped by for some coffees and snacks for the kids. Was not disappointed. Great service and vibe. They had a friendly pup wandering around and were spinning some records. Update: We Visited Harper's Ferry a year later and visited again. Still a great experience. We had breakfast and coffees. We'll definitely visit again.

What a nice little hidden gem. They have an excellent variety with wonderful staff. Ordered the mushroom quiche, (twice 😅) and the pesto panini. 😍 so delicious. I was really impressed with their curated wine that they have available. Ended up picking up an unoaked Chardonnay with beautiful hints of mango on the nose. Also picked up this local jam made by local veterans, which supports a great cause.. Go check them out if you’re in the area.

We loved it here! It had a country/hippie cozy charm to it. Food was amazing. Small menu but each food choice seemed very well thought out and packed with flavor. We got the lamb meatball salad and shrimp and grits and my husband practically licked his plate clean. My dtr has celiac so we were going to get the shrimp linguine but they were out of Zucchini noodles. She was able to get a salad option instead. Will definitely dine here again. Our Server Tom went over and beyond!

We got a baked brie platter for an appetizer and the beef bolognese. Both were really good. The inside of the restaurant is decorated very nicely.

The place was very cute but service was very questionable, somewhat racist. We were left unattended and there were others there. Need I say we are Hispanic descent. We even got up to request drinks since our waitress would not come to us. They have a mix of food. But the tortilla soup is tomato base out of can with 2 bread crumbs. Hello it tortilla soup, horrible made my stomach hurt. Brosellel sprouts were not that great, I guest stream cook with balsamic dressing, ah no. The sandwich was alright, stick with that. They brought us the wrong food. I ask for a cup to put my coffee in but lady pretended to be busy with the other employees and never brought it. At some point we were the only ones there and none of the 5 waitresses would approach us even though we signaled for service. Am in the area several times a year and this the first time I experienced this, it was very obvious. I always search for local business to support in the area, this will not be one. I leave it to interpretation. They took my original post off.

Great fun, great food, great service, great drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed our early dinner at Snallygasters. Would even make a special trip over the next time we visit family in Leesburg. Atmosphere was great. Cozy, quaint, eclectic. 5 stars.

Super cute general store located beside Kelley Farm Kitchen. We had a few minutes to spare while waiting for our order, so we browsed around and found some specialty items that we can't find in PA. We shared the biscuit for breakfast the next day. Warmed it in the air fryer, served warm with butter and jam....delightful! Biscuit wasn't dry, well seasoned with fresh herbs, on the denser side, and very filling.

We enjoyed our dinner experience here. The service from both the server and the bartender was excellent - they even catered to the needs of our dog, Maggie. The atmosphere was very relaxing, it was a Monday night so probably not nearly as busy as it probably is on the weekends. Our dinner entrees were very good, specifically we had the Beef Bolognese and the Braised Pork and Risotto. Both dishes were different from the classic Italian versions, but still very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits the Harpers Ferry area.

Delicious food and Cozy atmosphere. We had the potato soup, chai latte and Italian sandwich they were all delicious and the staff was so kind. We went to an overpriced restaurant the night before and this place was so much better. The prices are reasonable and food was yummy!

5 stars all the way!!! Food was great but the Boozy Caramel Cocoa is beyond amazing. The atmosphere is so chilled and the bartender is cool. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.
