Traci Day

Where to begin?! I hesitate to write this review, as I want to keep this bar ALL to myself. First and foremost, to Sabine, the best cocktail server one could ever ask for. Thanks for always having my back.
I found this bar shortly after I moved here to Houston. I needed a place that I felt safe. I was in a new city, and had a previous bad experience where the bartender helped me be drugged while I was out drinking one night a few years back. (Therefore, I am VERY picky about who makes my drinks.) It's also a great place to stop on your way home from work for a cocktail while traffic dies down.
It started as an innocent Friday Payday hour, and turned into a wonderful relationship of a bar that was metropolitan enough to feel exciting, yet comfortable enough to feel like I'm on an old episode of cheers.
The dress code keeps the troublemakers out. And they WILL NOT bend it. I've had people meet me for drinks in jeans with no blazer, and it was a NO GO. The people watching is fantastic, hotel guests and locals alike.
A secret that most people don't know, is that you can order off of ANY of the restaurant menus of most of the restaurants around there. YOU NEVER HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR COMFY SEAT!
Plenty of cozy seating, or just grab a seat at the bar and watch the game. The best of both worlds. Highly recommend visiting before dinner, or after an event. Christmas decor for photos is perfection.
Order the chicken wings, lobster mashed potatoes, sushi, and you must try the marinated olives and housemade chips. It's Valet only, which as a girl who wears heels everywhere, that's a plus. Don't worry, they have an ATM by the restrooms. Drink too much? No worries, grab a room for the night. (I haven't stayed there, but I've heard their rooms are nice.)
xoxo, TD
