Friendly and attentive servers! Really appreciated the option to order a side of the poutine fries they were so good! I would highly recommend the brisket sandwich. If you want a sandwich this place is a must try! They’ve got an option for everybody.

Google
Unfortunately they use the same fryers for fish and fries, so the fries taste like fish. But the owner said he's trying to get another one so that will be great! I ordered the shrimp po boy, in my opinion too much sauce was added and the lettuce they used wasn't crispy, almost old tasting even. Really want to like it here so I'll be back. Great service.

There are a lot of renovations going on to revamp the area. The restaurant was busy when we were there and service was good. The food was hit or miss. Half of us liked what we ordered and the other half didn't.

Google
So amazingly delicious. The ingredients in the Cuban all work so well together and the portion is enough for two hungry grown men to split. I’m assuming it’s that way for the whole menu. It’s a destination restaurant and worth the trip. Come out even if you don’t live in town!

I love the food and service. Great home made chips and ask for the fries well done. Had the chicken sandwich with bacon. Yum. Had the roast beast sandwich with parm grilled sourdough. Dang good. Loved the beer selection too.

Google
Solid 4 stars across the board. Food was good-8 of 10(chicken fried steak and monte cristo sandwhich), service was good-9 of 10, place was clean-8 of 10, atmosphere was chill-8 of 10. Overall 8 of 10. Will return to eat here again!

Stopped at H Brother's while at Crusin' Grand. This place is an absolute gem! The food is nothing short of exceptional. Their burgers are packed with flavor, and the fries are cooked to perfection. But it doesn't stop there. The brisket sandwich was incredibly tender and juicy, a true standout. To top it off, everyone was extremely friendly and the place was clean. You order at the front and pay at the front, have a seat and they bring the food to you. Highly recommend giving this place a try! Would definitely go back!

Popped by here for the first time the other day - really delicious, fresh, quality food. The veggie wrap was so refreshing, and the falafel was perfect and not dry. My boyfriend had the poboy and loved it!

Yelp
Delicious comfort food plus nice casual ambiance. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We came for dinner on a Saturday and sat outside on their patio to eat since it was a beautiful evening with nice weather. They have a good variety of selection on their menu including desserts. We ordered the Brisket Sandwich with the cole slaw on the side and their Avocado Bacon Burger which comes on a Brioche bun and generous amount of French Fries, which was the one side that I chose. Both items were delicious and a fairly good size. I think next time we will share lol so we can have room for dessert. The service was friendly and quick. I would like to come back and try the other items on their menu. Definitely recommend to try if in the area. It is was enjoyable to dine and people watch at the same time on Grand Avenue .

Yelp
Located on Grand. Comfort food galore! They serve sandwiches, poutines, burgers, soups, wraps, desserts & salads. Friendly & attentive service! Mac & Cheese: Added brisket. This was a hearty dish, actually, all of their dishes are quite hearty so you will definitely be going home with leftovers. The dish was a bit bland. Country Poutine: Absolutely loved the gravy.

Yelp
Amazing spot for comfort food! The menu is huge and covers an entire wall. You order at the counter and then servers will bring food to table. The service was great and quick! There's indoor and outdoor sitting with a cool ambiance. I was impressed by all the items we tried! The Cuban torta was delicious and my favorite item that I tried! The French friends and onion rings are also especially delicious! Great place!

Yelp
Fun casual lunch spot! The menu is large and easy to read - it covers the wall! We ordered from the counter, got our drinks right away, and the servers brought the food to our table. They are very nice and stopped by a couple times to check on us. I had the tuna melt and was very impressed. They even fry cheese on the outside of the bread for a special touch. SO GOOD! My Pinot Grigio was also good, particularly since it was a healthy pour for only $5. Great drink prices. The garlic mashed potatoes had good flavor but I have to say they were a bit dry. My friend got the Cuban Torta and loved it as well. Practically inhaled it actually! He was also happy with his choice of Mexican lager.

Yelp
The service is spectacular. The food is spectacular. The ambiance is spectacular. I love this place and will make it a regular.

Yelp
We haven't been back to this restaurant in a while. But man, nothing has changed. The food is absolutely amazing. The chili was a big hit with us. It's was so good! Everything was good. My chicken sandwich those onion rings, we loved them! The brisket was so tender. Had so much flavor. We need to come to this restaurant more often. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my family and friends.

Yelp
Great place for a great bite to eat. Unique sandwich and wrap options that hard to find in Escondido. Always quick service and convenient online ordering if you doing to-go like I did.

Yelp
Always a great place to grab a bite and pint of beer! Note: they assign you a table so don't make the mistake that this one lady did who hogged the line and grabbed a table for herself, oblivious to that fact and sparking annoyed looks and grumbles to people that were patiently waiting in line, lol. You order you food and then they seat you accordingly. You're welcome. The co-habby and I always make it a point to stop by H Brothers whenever we're in the Escondido area. They offer a variety of different beers so there is always something for everyone. The hubby is a fan of IPAs so that's his usual go-to. What we've tried there: -Fried Shrimp PoBoy: Lettuce, tomato, fried shrimp, remoulade sauce on toasted bread -Monte Cristo Sandwich: Probably one of my favorite monte cristo's in town! Ham and swiss cheese sandwich dipped in batter and fried up until crispy, then dusted with powdered sugar. Divine. -Poutine: Fries with gravy and cheese curds. Yum. Service is always fast and friendly, beer delish and food, comforting and satisfying. Check them out!

Yelp
I had this restaurant bookmarked forever and I am glad I finally got in to try it out. I did not realize it is an order at the counter kind of place but, whatever, it works for me. You order at the counter and then grab a table. The soda machine is self-serve. The interior is super cute and there is patio seating, too. We tried the Monte Cristo, the Bacon Cheeseburger, and the country poutine. I also tried a beer flight. Everything was terrific. I am not usually a Monte Cristo fan but this one was very well made and delicious. Monte Cristos can be very greasy and heavy but this one was not greasy or heavy and it had a ton of flavor. It comes with both jam and syrup on the side. Also, this sandwich does NOT come with a side. The bacon cheeseburger was very well made and was great. It comes with a side and I tried the hush puppies. The hush puppies were the only disappointment of the evening. They were extremely dense and heavy. The flavor was good but I think lighter and airier hush puppies are simply better. The honey-flavored butter which comes with the hush puppies was insanely good. Finally, if there is poutine on a menu, I am ordering it. I know it's just Canadian junk food but whatever. SoCal has loaded nachos and Canada has poutine. H Brothers has a regular poutine (with gravy and cheese curds) and a "country" version which comes with gravy, curds, and fried chicken bites. Because we wanted to make absolutely sure we hit 20,000 calories, we went with the country version. They absolutely smother the fries with gravy and cheese curds. I don't know that the chicken bites are necessary but this is a great dish, if you don't mind gaining 5 pounds at one sitting. They only have a handful of beers on draft but they are good ones. My flight of three beers in 5 ounce taster glasses was very good. Even though they do not technically have designated servers, one of the workers stopped by our table every few minutes to make sure everything was going well. So our service was excellent. The menu is very well-written and makes you want to try more things. From reading past reviews, I know there are some hits and misses with the food, but our experience was very good. We would happily return to try out more grub.

Yelp
Took the boys for a meal here after visiting LLL Reptile next door around 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon, was quiet. We ordered the seafood melt and Parmesan crusted chicken sandwich. Sides were hush puppies and garlic mash with gravy. Every single bite was delicious, fresh, comforting. The seafood melt was a little messy, difficult to handle for smaller hands, but so worth it. I was obsessed with the Parmesan crusted chicken sandwich. The crispy bread was addictive. Speaking of...the honey butter on the hush puppies, wow. Great service, loved the whole experience from start to finish.

Yelp
Cool place, people were nice. Good beer, and good food. Hush puppies were definitely my favorite, absolutely delicious.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try H Brothers for so long! It smells super good in here and will update when the food comes out. Ok, so, AMAZING. Here's what we had: Shrimp Po Boy Cuban Torta Onion Rings French Fries Beers Beignets Highly recommend! Great service! So many options!

Yelp
I had this place bookmarked, and I couldn't remember why, but I came in for dinner on a Wednesday night. When I saw the menu (in chalk on the wall) it came to me - poutine! So that's what I had, country style with white gravy and chicken bits, along with a good hazy IPA. Enjoyed them both; took home half the poutine and enjoyed it the next day.

Yelp
We came Friday right after 5 as a party of 6 plus a baby and easily got a large table in the back. By the time we left at 6 every table was full. The menu had a something for everyone and this would be a great place for a group who want to pay separately as you order at the counter and then they bring the food to the table. I ordered the Hawaiian chicken sandwich with onion rings. The chicken was pounded thin and well marinated which I appreciated. The onion rings were large and tasty and the self serve diet Coke was mixed well. If I was in the area I would come again.

Yelp
Everything here is fresh and made daily. So many things sounded really good. I ordered the hush puppies as an appetizer and they are the best that I have ever had. They're slightly sweet, served with home made apple butter. The classic burger was delicious. Every entree comes with a side. The staff was great and they even gave my compliments to the chef. They're's currently major construction going on along the street, so you may need to walk a bit until it's completed.
google avatar

Yelp
Impressed the moment we walked in. Casual, cool, laid back atmosphere and an incredible menu of several options we often don't see elsewhere. Chose the fried shrimp po boy (fave pick by far), onion rings, crispy chicken Dijon sandwich w mashed potatoes. Service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely return next time we're in Esco.

Yelp
This place was recommended by some locals so I finally had a chance to try out their food. I ordered the following ... *Fried Shrimp PoBoy Hand battered and fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato, house-made classic or spicy Remoulade sauce on a toasted roll. *Seafood Melt Seared shrimp and scallops, provolone, classic or spicy cabbage slaw on toasted sourdough. *Tuna Melt Parmesan crusted sourdough, tuna salad, Swiss cheese And ordered sides too... *onion rings and hush puppies The food was delicious and flavorful. Good size portions perfect for sharing. Shaylee was at the register and she was very sweet and helpful. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!!!

Yelp
Everyone here is so welcoming and helpful! They have a large selection of draft beers and a variety of different foods. You order at the front and then they bring your food to the table, but the staff still goes around and checks on the guests to make sure all needs are met. I went with the avocado burger to play it safe and my goodness the fries were so good! The burger was perfectly cooked and was very satisfying. Also, the house made ranch paired perfectly with the fries. I definitely recommend and will be returning!!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and what a cool place. The staff were all so friendly. Menu is huge and I mean that partly because it is written on the side of the wall when you walk in. We ordered child chicken nuggets, tzatziki wrap and a buffalo wrap.. oh and some onion rings. The wraps were huge and very tasty. Onion rings were the best I've ever had!! Grandson loved the chicken nuggets. Have to comment again about the staff.. The two ladies working were beyond nice and helpful! Would we go back? Yes of course, I want to try the Monte Cristo!!

Yelp
Overall was a good experience. Friendly staff and good food in a laid back environment. Order food at the counter and it is delivered to your table. Staff came by and checked on us to see if we needed anything.

Yelp
Their menu has a lot of selections to choose from. Food & beverages. Super nice and clean restaurant in downtown Escondido. Kind and friendly service. You order at the bar and the food is delivered to your table. Portion and flavor approved! Poutine fries - An appetizer, but can be eaten as a main dish. Fries tasted freshly cut and fried to me, white gravy drizzled all over (I added salt), cheese curds, and big chunks of chicken. Cheesesteak - I had the bbq sauce on the side. Warm bread, perfect ratio of meat, drizzled with cheese, and onion strips. I ordered hush puppies for my side with sweet butter. The portion size was pretty big. Taziki Chicken Wrap - Big wrap! Great fresh option. This one doesn't include a side, but that's okay... the poutine fries was enough.

Yelp
Came with a group of 6 on a Friday at 5, and had no problem finding a table ( but it did get busy by 6 pm). Ordered the Cuban torta, and it was very good! And huge portion. Everyone else enjoyed their sandwiches as well. You order at the front and then find a table

Yelp
I have been here countless times and really have been needing to take the time to review. This spot is marvelous!! I've had a few things from this location and have never been disappointed. My brother had gotten the beignets, and they are soo soft and yummy to have as a snack!! May I begin on the beverages where it seems to be that they never have a bad option on tap. And if you come in and order some food to go you could grab a beverage as you wait. I recommend dining in the location to understand how relaxing the environment is. I will say the customer service is great and the food is satisfying!! I've had the Brisket Sandwich, absolutely drool-worthy. Avocado Bacon Burger sooo good. Buffalo Ranch wrap & Chili Fries (since I can't do cheese). As soon as I find the pictures to the food I will update. But take my word for it. Stopping here you will not regret it. My best friends job came here as a company for food, its WORTH IT!!

Yelp
We went here on a Saturday in July for a late lunch. Street parking was easy to find and they were not busy. Service was friendly and attentive. The food came out very fast. It was a cute and clean establishment. We both got a meal with brisket. It was a bit fatty for my liking. They had an extensive menu for everyone's taste.
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
Fantastic food! Everything my party if 5 ordered was delicious. The beignets were especially amazing and super fluffy. The buns for the sandwiches and burgers are really good amd hold up well to your chosen meal. The hush puppies were the perfect texture. The service here is top notch and everyone is friendly and helpful. I love that the restaurant isn't too fancy and invites a feeling of being laid back so you can just socialize with your friends and family.
google avatar

Yelp
The family and I had a quick dinner here. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the Cuban sandwich. Both were phenomenal. Caution: if you order the pulled pork sandwich, expect a mouth watering and saucy sandwich. I love it but come with extra napkins on the side (if you know what I mean). It's just a great sandwich. The Cuban can feed 2 people easily! Great deal and great sandwich. There's a lot of things happening with the sandwich. ALL are welcome! Love everything! Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
Went to H Brothers today with a friend for lunch....i always like the interior....has a cool look.....like to support Grand Ave! We ordered the brisket sandwich and the tuna melt and shared fries and onion rings...couple of the Mexican lagers and had a really nice time. The service here is great...they do a really nice job with the food and follow it up by making sure you're enjoying everything. Definitely recommend it. Nice and clean inside...it's on Grand so depending on the day it could be tough parking but it's usually good.

Yelp
DOG friendly patio so plus for us! All the staff is so nice and friendly. Nice cold beers. I ordered the Hawaiian chicken sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich is full of flavor and fresh ingredients. The onion rings are light and non-greasy and really good. My wife liked her Monte Cristo. I got a taste and it is good! Fresh and light-not greasy at all. I keep saying I'm going to try some of their other stuff, but I like this chicken sandwich so much, I keep getting it.

Yelp

Yelp
Nice chill place. Everybody is friendly. Eppig Brewing. 10:45 to Denver. Great IPA

Yelp
While I'm no Canadian, I do love me some poutine. Being that we're pretty far south of Vancouver, you have to allow some wiggle room in the area of authenticity. To that point, H Brothers may not be traditional in its recipe but it's fries + cheese + gravy (and that always) = tasty Good service and a pretty varied menu of things guaranteed to break your diet. Nothing wrong happening here, folks.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Was tough to decide where to eat while I was in the area, but glad I got to try it! Burgers were great, nice and juicy patty, cooked to my liking. As a Canadian, they also had poutine, but it wasn't traditional, but it was still very tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Have yet to try something I didn't love . Probably the best "Western " BBQ Burgee I've ever had , take that Crazee Burger . great Food

Yelp
Seeing the reviews, I was excited to try this place. I'll note that my order was a pickup order which may have effected my experience. I called an order in for my husband and myself. It was ahefty order that included the apple Walnut salad, Hawaiian chicken sandwhich, corn on the cob, tzatziki wrap, and beignets The salad was great. I split it up and used the dips from the beignets (excluding the chocolate) and the salad dressing so we could have a variety. Our favorite version was the salad with the raspberry beignets. Our least favorite was the actual salad dressing which was incredibly overpowering. We were really looking forward to the Hawaiian chicken sandwhich but it just missed the mark. The one thing on the menu that was perfect- corn on the cob. I would be shocked if they would have messed it up. The wrap was pretty dry. We susp2ct the tzatziki was just a sour cream mix because it tasted nothing like tzatziki. But at least it covered up the dryness of the chicken. Overall, the taste was ok- nothing to write home about. The beignets- the chocolate sauce was good and that's about it. When I went to pick up the order, I noticed the area seemed very lively. When I got inside there was a line. The place was filled with patrons enjoying their beers and food. I loved the vibe of the place. Great decor and music. As my first in person impression, I was impressed and had high expectations. Was even thinking how we would have to try eating in next time as I was sure there was no way such a place could disappoint. As I was waiting in line to pickup the food, the guy infront of me put his order in and paid. He even started to move over but the cashier man just kept talking to him. I'm always disappointed when this happens. There is a line behind me, I've been waiting for a hit and the cashier is just chatting, seems inconsiderate. I got to the cashier and when picking up the food, I asked if I could order beers to go as well. His response is: "we don't have cups for that". I don't know if you need special cups for alcohol but I saw the soda cups right next to him. It left a bad taste in my mouth. TL:DR: cool space with great music. Food and service mediocre. Maybe the alcohol is good?

Yelp
Super fast service, wall sized menu, literally and cool atmosphere. Seating inside and streetwide with shade. Recommend: To leave the Brisket Sandwich alone. Service was lighting fast, atmosphere was wonderful, great decor and very nice interior. Everything was appealing, except the Brisket sandwich. Honestly, it was terrible, dry AND tough. Almost burnt tasting, and I'm not talking 'Brisket ends burnt' but burnt! Not at all recommended. I do give kudos to the Wait Staff, their incredible hospitality and the overall experience was enjoyable (dish aside). I'd give them a second try of course, but I doubt I'll return since I'm not a local. If I do, I will!!

Yelp
This was my first time there. I went on the recommendation of local Escondido firefighters. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I ordered their Classic Cheeseburger, Fries and a side of coleslaw. Everything was excellent! Food was fresh and really good. I'm definitely going back!

Renee J.

Yelp
Omg one of the worst meals I have had recently. Mashed potatoes obviously instant and gravy from a packet. Meatloaf was hideous, no flavor and a lot of veggies. Brisket sandwich was very fatty, cheap overky sweet bbq sauce. Hush puppies not hot and fluffy but lukewarm and served with sweet butter. Run from this olace if you like well orepared tasty food.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
This is a nice restaurant you can also book for private events. The employees are professional and the place looks really nice and clean inside. The food was good; we had mini burgers, salad, and coleslaw. The one thing they could improve on is an update to the bathroom. Single stall bathroom right next to the kitchen...odd.
google avatar

Landon Drake V.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my meal along with the service here. The staff at the front were friendly and even the head chef, who was on break greeted me. I was told everything was made fresh there with quality and care. I got the special chicken sandwich with onion rings and fries. The onion rings were among the best I've had as the batter was not overwhelming but it still was delicious. This is a great local spot that I plan to come back to!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cool spot in downtown Escondido! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The employees are helpful and friendly, and there's a relaxed vibe to the whole place. My friends and I quite enjoyed our food. I personally got the Mac and cheese with brisket. The brisket was fall-apart-in-your-mouth tender, and the Mac was satisfying as well. Overall an enjoyable experience!

Yelp
Just discovered this place after checking Yelp for a somewhere we hadn't been to before in the area. Entered to a clean, well maintained and bright restaurant. Found the menu written on the wall to your left when you walk in. It took up the whole wall from the door to the bar so it was very easy to read. First poutine, that's not something you see on menu often, if ever in this part of the country. We'd been fortunate enough to have it in Canada a few times so we're familiar with how it looks and tastes. We got the original here and though it was good. We would have preferred to have the fries to be cooked a little crispier and a few more curds. The fries got soggy pretty quick with all the gravy. We'd get them again if there are more than two of us eating so they aren't sitting too long in the gravy. We then decided to split a couple entrees so we could both say we'd tried them. The first was the Monte Cristo. Theirs is coated with pancake batter vs the traditional french toast batter but it was really good. Monte Cristo's usually have both turkey and ham but they only put ham in theirs, with the cheese of course. It was served with a raspberry type of jam/sauce and syrup. We'd get it again. The second entree was the Western burger and we added bacon. It comes with one side and we chose the onion rings. Though the burger had BBQ sauce on it, they also included a side of it along with a side of ranch. We added more BBQ sauce to the burger, we like it saucy. Both the burger and onion rings were quite good. We'd also get these again. We will definitely be returning to H brothers and though we were pleased with the entrees we had during this visit, we'll be trying other items on the menu because there were many others that sound quite tasty.

Yelp
one of my favorite food spots in Esco!!! the Mac n cheese with brisket is out of this world. prices are decent too! staff is great, helpful and service is quick!

Yelp
The nicest team that are very welcoming and caring. We sat outdoors and they are dog friendly for outside patio. The food is large and we had lunch and enough for dinner that night. Right on Grand and when the streets are complete this will be a hot spot.

Yelp
Incredible food, and a huge menu as well. Also great place to just grab a drink while out on Grand. Awesome staff and all around great place!

Yelp
Lovely restaurant in downtown Escondido! Got the poutine and the brisket sandwich. Well worth the visit. We sat outside and enjoyed all the old cars for the Cruising Grand festival. Overall definitely worth coming back.
