Disappointed in Bakery Customer Service
On October 9th around 4 PM, I went in to order a cake for my daughter’s 7th birthday at the Louetta & Stuebner Airline H-E-B. Unfortunately, the service in the bakery department was extremely poor. The employee behind the counter never greeted or acknowledged us. When I asked about options, she was curt, dismissive, and even refused to let me see the sheet she was reading from. Her tone and attitude were unprofessional, especially disappointing with my excited 7-year-old standing beside me.
I walked out without ordering. Two managers apologized and offered me a free cake, but I declined. If that’s the attitude and energy in the bakery, I don’t want it tied to such a special occasion. I drove to the Gosling H-E-B instead, where the staff was friendly, helpful, and I easily placed my order. The contrast was night and day.
I’ve already submitted a complaint through the H-E-B app, but I’m leaving this here so others are aware. I expect better from H-E-B, customer service should always be kind and professional.
It’s unfortunate because this H-E-B is only a few minutes from my home, but now I’ll have to travel further to pick up the cake. While not the most convenient, it’s worth it to interact with kind and courteous people, which I believe also translates into a better product.
