How to Hack Boxed Blueberry Muffin Mix so It Tastes Homemade | Eater

"A supermarket store-brand muffin mix that produces six muffins and uses freeze-dried blueberries; it was a convenient, childhood go-to but is judged inferior to fresh or properly treated frozen berries. The freeze-dried fruit lacks the warm, juicy burst achieved by smashing fresh berries, making the mix an acceptable option only when minimizing ingredients or baking on the road, but less satisfying than scratch-made muffins or hacked box mixes that incorporate fresh or defrosted mashed berries." - Courtney E. Best HEB I ever visited!!! There is good quality of food and its cheap. The floors were clean but there were some food in the fruit on the floor probably some kids. No food was rotting or not fresh. The cart gave me a little trouble but it worked. And the employees were nice and didn't act rude.

This is by far the dirtiest HEB I have ever visited. The produce section, particularly the onion area, is in terrible condition and clearly lacks proper maintenance. Many of the bell peppers are visibly rotting or decaying, and the onions are often just as bad. It is genuinely unpleasant and unacceptable for a store of this reputation and size. The level of neglect in this location is alarming. Most people I know have stopped shopping here altogether and drive to the Bunker Hill store instead. However, customers should not have to travel farther simply to shop in a clean, well-maintained environment. I honestly do not understand how this store continues to pass inspection. The management needs to take immediate action to address the cleanliness, freshness, and overall quality standards. This location is long overdue for serious attention from corporate oversight.

I was in the freezer section for pie crusts and only had a hand basket and needed 10. Rob who was restocking was SUPER helpful. He grabbed all the crusts then went and got me a push basket. I love friendly workers and Rob was so nice! Thank you!!!

I'm giving 4 stars because of the bakery department; every time I go, they never have bread. It's frustrating because I want to do all my shopping in the same place. Please, put a little more focus on that department.

Excellent grocery store! Always clean, well-stocked, and organized. Fresh produce, great prices, and friendly staff who are always ready to help. Shopping here is always a pleasant experience!

This is the heb on kempwood and gessner. If you have the time go to the one at bunker hill. This heb is hit or miss on the "fresh" produce. If they have in what you are looking for, it's 50/50 going to be overripe or not ripe enough. Also, there is no butcher section, so once again, if you are looking for something specific, probably won't have it. On the plus side, you will save alot of time and money. This used to be a pretty good store, but it has declined severely in the last 3-6 months.

Be careful shopping at this HEB, I found cream cheese dates for 2024 and early 2025 I did let a manager know and she was surprised. Come home and the jimmy dean breakfast bowls I also bought are expired back in August. They are not checking stock and dates this is dangerous! Returning everything and will stick to HEB on i10. This location needs to be closed down like the Kroger on the same street was recently shut down for good!

I'm in here a couple times a week to pick up work lunch and some odds and ends for the home. Great selection. One thing I'll say is, the past three times I've been in there, folks near the registers try to stop me and ask me who my energy provider is. I don't like this tactic. I don't like that I keep being asked. I don't want to have to plan my route through the store to avoid pushy sales people.
