The HEB Japanese Sandwich That Made Everyone Mad | Eater Houston

"This Texas supermarket chain is widely praised for its signature private-label products—everything from cult-favorite butter tortillas and a wide array of baked goods to spicy boiled crawfish during peak season. In April 2025 it introduced a Japanese strawberry sando in its sushi department: an $8 sandwich of whipped cream and strawberries squished between slices of the chain’s white Texas toast. The item drew mixed reactions online—some critics argued it felt inauthentic because it used Texas white bread instead of puffy shokupan and that the price was high, while others on TikTok called it a refreshing, convenient ode to konbini sandos. In-store demand has been strong, with frequent sellouts in the Houston area; taste tests noted soft centers and sweet strawberries but criticized dry crusts and a paucity of cream, making it an easy on-the-go snack that many nevertheless enjoy." - Brittany Britto Garley

Every time I come to this HEB they’re lacking. Like every single time. I literally have to pray before I walk in here. It’s 1:30pm and they don’t have any of the chicken out that usually all the other HEB’s have. I come here to get a cheap nourishing lunch and once again THEY DONT HAVE ANYTHING. Then one of the deli workers says the chicken won’t be ready until an hour to an hour and a half later… like be for real. This is lunch hour and you’re not prepared. I’m pretty sure their only job is to cook the chicken. So I’m super confused on what’s taking so long. If you know there’s a lunch crowd then you should already have some ready if you’re going to run out by 12:30 or whatever. There is literally no excuse. Especially when it’s ALWAYS like this.

I’ve always loved HEB. Today I stopped in to the Shepherd location and it was cool ,But the highlight of Aroma smell section its very good and made me feel Happy. Thank you HEB !

Great convenient place to shop with excellent customer service.

I had two trips today and the first trip was great and so inclusive. My son was wearing headphones and gave me a create suggestion on noise cancelling headphones. The second trip I had to go through self check out, the machine trigger the cashier to come verify. I purchased dog food and (2) soaps. She verified my bags which is the first time I had to experience that. I know they need to verify but this doesn’t happen all the time. Unfortunately, it has under tones of profiling. I’m going to pay attention to this next trip around.

Google
I typically really enjoy going to this HEB but there have been several times where things don't get marked down to their sale price for the week. This week (it's Saturday) the chicken breast value pack still hasn't been marked down to its sale price in the weekly ad. Normally I just notice this on Wednesdays when the ads change but this time it's been 3.5 days and it's still marked to its full price

I just left this store….. I love me some HEB and HEB can do no wrong in my eyes, except for this store.. it’s not inviting at all, employees don’t smile or say have a good day or engage with majority of the customers. I will drive 27min out of the way to go to a different location just to avoid this location. I know HEB train their partners to not mix other meats with chicken, and I hope this location learn to respect the customer wish of the separation of chicken from other goods. This isn’t to bash HEB as a whole only to hope this location encourages the standard friendly HEB partners as usual and keep the store inviting to all.

Google
LOVE LOVE LOVE this location. I work nights so i usually tend to show up at 10pm an hour before closing, even then all the staff are super friendly and helpful. Melissa and Dominic i believe are there names are great mangers who keep this store clean and happy. They will go out of there way to make sure every customer is handle top tier. My phone had died when i went in to shop one night and Dominic took the time to charge my phone with his own charger since. the two chargers i previously bought would not work so that i could check out and get home. Thank you to the whole staff for always making my experience the best. Also great quality in food they're really good about FIFO!

Google
A true Texas treasure. Always well stocked, huge choice, great prices. I also have to note a great company financial contributor to all the community needs. On Cinco de Mayo this year, the live Mariachis group was a great touch. I appreciated that HEB allowed their employees to join in on the performances. I salute you HEB

Yelp
Over the years, I've shopped at this particular HEB location over 30 times. What I've always liked about this location is that it's smaller and has an elevated parking garage. Surprisingly, parking on the second level has never been issue. This is also probably the smallest HEB location I've ever been to. By comparison, the Bear Creak Hwy 6 and even the Dunlavy/W. Alabama locations are HUGE. The Heights HEB was cool to me in the past because it was just so much easier to get in and out and the selection was actually good. Fast forward to 2025, and I would say the quality of the store and selection have actually gone downhill--and so has customer service. Stocking and re-stocking seems to be a major issue where it wasn't before. One example: looking for oyster sauce was tough--and this is an important basic staple among Asian cuisine sauces. There were lots of options for soy sauce and even Buldak sauce, but very few options for oyster sauce, which seems absolutely crazy to me. And the section just hadn't been re-stocked at all--so many empty spaces where product could have been placed. Later on, I had the same experience when looking for lotion--so many empty product spaces which should have been re-stocked and the aisle wasn't even labeled properly. At checkout, the cashier was so engrossed in her convo with the sacker that she could barely answer any of my questions. Then she handed me 10 one dollar bills without counting it back to me, which is pretty standard. I would have rated this store a 4 or 5 in the past, but they've slipped down to a 2.

Yelp
It's fine, just a regular grocery store. However the prices are getting insane compared to other grocery stores. Also, the bakery is the slowest and most inefficient tho by I've ever seen. There's either nobody there or 3 people and none of them ever looking at the counter. They regularly take 10-15 to grab a single item...if they can get it for you at all.

Yelp
H-E-B is the go-to grocery store in Texas. Stopped in at the Shepherd location for convenience. Parking was decent and of course the people provided great customer service.
google avatar

Josiah G.

Yelp
Its a 2 story HEB kinda weird but once on second floor it looks like a normal layout storefront. I preferred parking on the roof with my truck.
google avatar

Matthew J.

Yelp
This is the best HEB in the northwest Houston area. The range of the products in their inventory is unmatched except for the HEB on Bunker Hill Rd. And the Heights HEB has MUCH better parking than that location. This can be the only grocery store I go to for the rest of my life, and I'd be satisfied.

Yelp
Love H-E-B even though I live in Hawaii now, every time we travel back to Texas we go to HEB! They have great produce and a good selection of meat! Wish we had one in Hawaii
google avatar

Yelp
The bakery had nothing that wasn't prepared Saturday. 2 checkouts open no customers service to speak of . There's an Aldi and whole foods within a few miles better chance s

Yelp
This H-E-B is the best H-E-B has a lot of vegetables and salads and dressing the customer service is good the employees were nice to kids and adults and they have good chicken and the cakes were so good and they have car shopping carts for little kids and they don't just have good meat and vegetables also fruits I love their meat they're meat is so good and juicy and sometimes they put the fish away before and they have good microwave food and good sausage they had juice and big sausages and the buns were good and thick they are good for burgers and they have coupons on mostly everything and has everything you need has buddy bucks for kid to play this game and every time they come back and they save up enough points they get a prize

Yelp
This HEB takes back the 1836 glass milk jugs but you cannot buy extra trash bag collection stickers here (the next closest location for that is Krogers on 43rd). I like this HEB. It's less stressful if you just park on the second floor. Good sushi and extensive premade food options.

Soraya F.

Yelp
Like the fruit and vegetable section! I always find what I need. Also, the sushi section always has promotions. Customer service is kind and helpful.

Yelp
OMG who doesn't love H‑E‑B! If you have never been to an H‑E‑B you must stop at one while visiting Texas. These grocery stores are just phenomenal! Fresh tortillas made constantly throughout the day, amazing bakery items, huge dairy, beer and wine-check, and the produce section is unbelievable. They have a store brand which I absolutely love and have found them all to be on point or better than national brands. Cleo approves of the made in USA doggie chicken jerky. This grocery store is the biggest reason to move to Texas.
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of this HEB. Even when busy they seem to be stocked up on all the produce. The cooks at the recipe station are friendly, as are the folks at the meat, fish, and deli counters. I once was looking for a specific cut of short rib and the meat counter guy was willing to take a couple minutes to freshly cut them for me to specifications. Sometimes they run a bit low on the premade turkey/chicken salads, but that's never been a dealbreaker. The international food aisles are usually very well-stocked, which is great if you like to experiment with different cuisines.' Some people complain about the parking, but I've never not found a spot on the top floor, even during the last minute thanksgiving rush. I moved, but I still go out of of my way to come here as often as I can for my groceries.

Jordan N.

Yelp
Trev with the beard was the rudest cashier I've ever encountered. He was immediately rude to me and my girlfriend as we walked up and yelled at us for not putting the basket below the cash register even though every employee just kindly grabs it and places it underneath. He needs to work at a job that deals with non sentient beings. This includes plants because they don't deserve that kind of treatment.
google avatar

Jazmin M.

Yelp
A great Texas store. Always fully stocked with fresh fruit and veggies. Deli people are always nice. Let's not forget of the people always making a new dish with the great deals H‑E‑B has.

Yelp
Being from the DMV area, I've been spoiled with wonderful grocery stores, specifcally the Wegmans. So when I moved to Houston, people were raving about how wonderful H-E-B is. While it's not the greatest grocery store ( sorry Texas), it's still damn good. Located in the Heights, I give credit to the butcher section, wine/beer section, and produce. When I'm shopping for those things, H-E-B beats the other grocery shops. You just have to climb the steps/escalator to get there. I find that a bit odd with this stores construction but getting your steps in doesn't hurt. Pricing is fair for most items. With inflation these days though, good luck finding anything of fair pricing.

Yelp
HEB bakery continues to get worse and worse. It is a rare morning when the bread and rolls aren't a day old. What happened to giving away day old bread to the food pantries and homeless. They certainly aren't dropping the prices on their day old bread. And likewise, you can't guarantee that your going to get a fresh pastry/donut. Bought two sugar twists this morning and they were stale. Makes me mistrust buying other cakes (layer) in there because I'm not sure if they're fresh or not. Bottom line, I'd rather go into a bakery and have them not have something because they sold out vs them selling me stale items........ And all of this is not to say that HEB isn't raising prices on their baked goods cause they sure are. Prices on their layer cakes are absurd...... What happened HEB????

Jamia M.

Yelp
got an iron man cake made and this were the results !! NO I AM NOT HAPPY !!!! H-E-B GULFGATE ‼‼‼ the ribbon on the cake was unnecessary !!! The happy birthday is starting from end of cake n has more ribbon at end for more writing !! The line around the cake is thin n thrown together

Yelp
Good old HEB. This location is a little on the fancy side with its elevators, upper level parking and layout. But just like the locations I've visited, great selection, fresh foods, and wonderful service. For as busy as the store gets, they keep the lines moving. Service is always friendly. The sample section by the bakery is so lively. Maybe because it's on a raised platform it gives a little more pizzaz! I'm constantly at the olive bar & in the wine section. For it to be a grocery store the selection they have is pretty nice. And they're not horribly over priced. Also, I noticed this store has one of the better floral departments. Drop in if you're in the area. I'm sure you'll find what you need..and if you're like me, extra stuff you didn't know you needed until you saw it :-) Yelp on my friends!

Yelp
I love the Heights.I am an Uber driver.People in the Heights really love Uber! I stopped by H.E.B after my Uber drive. It was relatively new.The stores were very clean.I found some sweets. It shows calories. It was hard for me to buy the high calories food. When I saw my favorite melon pan.I had to buy it. Melon pan is a Japanese name.It looks like concha. Melon pan on Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melonpan I used self checkout machine. It was quick. When I returned to the parking.I was lost.I couldn't find my car.I saw my car on the other side. This means the parking garage is huge! I ate my melon pan in my car.It was so yummy. I will return to this H.E.B.

Yelp
I like the concept of this location, however I do not think it is convenient. The first level is only for parking, and the second level is the actual store itself, as well as another area to park. If you parked on the first floor, you would do your grocery shopping and have to take the elevator or escalator down with all your groceries. Elevators are available to bring your cart with you, however just know you'll be crammed in there with other people and their carts full of groceries. Shopping at this store really test your patience... Regular size carts are only available, which is a huge dislike since I like utilizing the smaller carts. It helps to steer better around the small store, as well as slow shoppers. I'll stick with my regular local HEB. Just decided to pop in since I was conveniently close by. More than like would only come here again for a quick grab a go, but never to do a full grocery run again.
google avatar

Adam H.

Yelp
They have lots of food. Like way more than my house. And toilet paper. Like 7 kinds at least. And that thing where you put your cart into when going down the escalator. I always beat my cart to the bottom. Seems unfair to the carts but those are the cards that were dealt.

Yelp
Management at H-E-B planned this store for the Heights. They have everything you could adjust for, a fantastic food selection and friendly employees. On weekends it will be packed full of people, so go early in the morning or go on weekdays. The store is on the upper level and there are elevators and escalators to take you up and down. Additionally, there are food basket escalators that take your basket full of food down to the parking area...a very good design. Their bakery is great, it saved me a lot of weight gain because the calories are posted. I love them going that. Heck, I still got a donut, just shared it with the wife. The prices are very fair, and lower than other store chains on the in-house H-E-B brand. Just remember, if you don't like crowds, go on off-hours. But, even though there were many people, the ratio of employees to customers was higher than I have ever seen at any other store. We had literally NO wait to checkout, with a manager taking people to available registers.

Yelp
this is a great HEB. some of the stuff is disorganized/picked thru since it gets so busy tho.
google avatar

Adiam T.

Yelp
All of my son's future birthday cakes will forever be made at HEB. Thanks to the whole bakery team of designers especially Tatiana for being patient with me as I placed the last minute order. The cake and cupcakes looked amazing and they tasted so delicious we ate cake leftovers for breakfast the next day. Yum!
google avatar

Diane K.

Yelp
Yes, this is a GREAT addition to the Heights. Yes, they are crowded. Why? Because they are Great! Yes, they actually have aged meats! Yes, there is a fresh tortillaia that makes them hot in 3 types...flour, butter, and wheat. No more Kroger for me. The Kroger on 20th has all kinds of crime issues, with no visible cameras in the parking lot and only be security guard, hardly outside in the lot. This H-E-B has security all over and I felt very safe.
google avatar

Nicki M.

Yelp
I have to admit, I'm a bit of an HEB fanatic, so I might be a little biased about the chain overall. I'm glad to see the Heights finally get an HEB, it was overdue. Since my current work client is in the Heights, I decided to make my early morning, after-work grocery run here so I could check it out. The new layout is like the Bellaire HEB, two stories, with the pharmacy on the first floor, and the actual store and their cafe, The Roastery, on the second. I love that this parking garage also has lights over each parking space that let you know in advance if a spot is free or not. Pro tip: park on the second floor, it allows direct access into the store, as opposed to having to take the escalator or elevator up to the 2nd floor. All of the employees are so friendly and helpful, and great about answering questions. The aisles felt a little more narrow and the frozen section is more cramped than I'm used to, but Buffalo Market is my home store, and it's pretty big, so I'm a little biased. I'll definitely be back when I'm on this side of town.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my gosh, the day has finally come. Our dreams have been answered as the Heights now has a quality grocery store! This is a two level store with tons of parking. The parking garage has the red and green lights above the parking spots so finding an open spot is a breeze. Inside this H-E-B does not disappoint. Everything is so clean and new and shiny and bright. They took a look around the neighborhood and put a lot of thought and effort into what the shelves needed to be stocked with! So happy it's finally here! In most happy about the dry aged beef selection. They have great choices from 12 to 45 day dry aged and they will even custom age a piece of meat to your specifications. Huge plus for the wine sampling section too. Nothing better than trying it before you buy it so you don't show up somewhere with a bottle of wine that tastes funk. I wish more places had this option. Huge fresh bakery, tortillaria, roastery, prepared foods, pharmacy, and all the other specialty shops you have come to count on H-E-B to provide! Get ready neighbors, our dreams have been answered!

Teal T.

Yelp
Too many people and parking was very inconvenient. Good selection on product but probably will not be my go to grocery store.

Yelp
UPDATE 10/05/2021: The store manager (Dillion) gave me a sincere apology, a full refund, and a $50 gift card. Although this doesn't change anything that I experienced the night of the party, it shows HEB does care about their customers and he assures me that he will see that no one else will have this type of experience.
google avatar

Yelp
I never thought I would give an H EB a bad rating but unfortunately this one is different than the others I have been to. For starters During the freeze I inquired about the restrooms and they told me they were closed. While I understood after sitting in the elevator stuck for a good 10 to 15 minutes they still would not allow me to use the restroom. The staff there appear rude disinterested in an engaged. It shows in the work product sometimes I get rotten fruit when I order curbside. The managers appear disinterested even if you do complain. I am not used to this level of service in Heb but all of my neighbours agree this one needs help. Many of my neighbours drive to kroger to avoid this H EB. I hope they can get it together because this is not the reputation that I know HEB wants for itself

Yelp
It's a reason why this location was receiving so much hype in the surrounding community. This H-E-B is very much modern with their design and their layout. Not only do they have the normal amenities, products, and variety; but it's amplified. They have made their ready to eat meals a way of life and bringing to the table a better and more option driven in house freshly made catalog. All their fish and meats look even fresher. What took me over the top was their wine. With the sample of the newcomers, the mixture of the norms, and the fact that they actually have a wine/beer well to try on the spot is to die for. What personally put me over the top was their seasoning wall that will bring flavor to any one's life, and as a cook, I'm going to say Himalayan Pink Salt. Trust me just go, it's a vibe!!!

Anna M. G.

Yelp
Best H‑E‑B in town every time I come here employees are so friendly and helpful. I ask an employee about gushers candy, I'm a teacher and don't know what they look like, he told me that they were in aisle 8. I started to aisle 8 and another employee Marcus asked me what I was looking for I told him and he said follow me I will take you there. That was incredible thoughtful of him. But I do have one concern the girl that was bagging our groceries looked I'll and I don't think you should have employees working especially bagging groceries. I did ask her if she was ok and she told me no, she looked like she was going to pass out. I asked her if she would like for me to talk to manager and she said no it's ok . But again you have true employees.

COlin D.

Yelp
Nice store. For some reason their staff doesn't honor coupons. The coupons never work on their machine then if you ask them why not the will say it's not for that specific product (the one the coupon is labeled for and next to on the racks) then they offer to go back and check with you. Which with a huge line of people behind you is embarrassing inconvenient and awkward. HEB- just get rid of your coupons if they don't work. Below is a picture of the coupon that didn't work. You be the judge.

Yelp
A massive store 2 floors. Covered parking again 2 floors. This was opening weekend do the crowd hit critical mass, but even with that the store clean service outstanding. Full-service bakery and butcher. The produce was very good. The lines to check out were long but moved quickly. Nice self check out was moving quickly as we're the other lines clerks helped people get to shorter and quicker lines keeping things moving. They have. Large selection of organics and vegan foods

Yelp
I love HEB, that's my neighborhood store, and I go to the one in the Heights almost daily. What I want to note is the fresh salmon. I had purchased it a few times, and it always has some funky taste. I can only assume that it's some sort of a preservative since it's a farm raised fish. One time I washed it before cooking, and it tasted just fine. Yesterday I forgot to do that, and tasted that funk immediately. Perhaps the store rep can shine some light upon this matter? Thank you.

Ashlee F.

Yelp
I tend to stick to smaller stores and have not stepped foot in HEB in a long time. I have always liked the smaller aisles and the personal connections as I get to know employees at smaller stores. Today, after the small store I typically shop at didn't have what I needed, I came to HEB - this particular HEB because it was about to pour down rain and they have a garage! And HEB, you were wonderful. My kids loved taste testing a cookie, I was in and out quickly, and when I was in need of help there was a kind soul on staff who jumped in and helped me immediately. I left telling my kids (who loved it there), that we will have to come back to HEB more often. A huge shout out to employee Stefany Marroquin. She truly impressed me in how she helped my kids and I today!

Yelp
Really nice HEB! Living in the Heights, you have your pick of this HEB on Shepherd, the newer but smaller HEB on Washington or the Kroger on 11th/Durham (old as heck). The 2 story setup is interesting. I never park on the 2nd floor so it doesn't really bother me. The cart escalator is handy and on the whole, this is a clean and hip and newish HEB closeby to me. My other shopping location is the Bunker Hill HEB/Costco but this is my primary location for groceries.
google avatar

Cynthia V.

Yelp
Excellent customer service, especially at their curbside area! I love how HEB handles curbside, and even during the pandemic, its as if nothing has changed and it is business as usual. The store has a ton to offer which is why this place is always packed. There is plenty of parking on both the first and second floors, but I prefer the second floor for easy access to the store with my basket.

Yelp
WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I'm not the type to leave reviews on places especially grocery stores. However, after my experience today I've decided to make an exception. This is my first time visiting an H‑E‑B and it will be my LAST! I decided to go on a grocery run this afternoon and since I'm new in town I decided to look up good grocery stores and came upon this H‑E‑B. When I walked inside I was greeted with what seems to be a buggy boy hanging from a sign. This looked very dangerous and unsafe. Once I got upstairs I had to wait what seemed like years to get a buggy. There was a man with like 50 buggy's lined up blocking the entire pathway. Very unprofessional and not courteous to the customers. After I finally got inside the store I decided to start collecting the things I needed off my list. First off the bananas were greener than the hulk and the apples were badly bruised and one was even stabbed. Very disappointing. For the next 40-45min I kept shopping and right as I was about to grab the last few things I needed an employee with a big red and blue cart zoomed past me and ran over my big toe, I was fine thankfully and they apologized but they need to be more careful and watch where they're going. As I was checking out my cashier was scanning my groceries at such a fast pace that the sacker couldn't keep up and all my things were piling up. I asked him to slow down and he apologized and said that his managers have been getting on him for not scanning items fast enough. These managers need to understand that everything doesn't need to be done at such a fast pace. Unfortunately my eggs were shattered and the sacker ran to go get me some new ones which was very nice but could of been prevented. Once I walked out the doors I seen a very unique contraption which took your buggy's down the escalator. I handed my buggy to the worker but he seemed brain dead and took a while to notice I was there. I asked him if he was fine and he said he only slept for 2 minutes the night before and was running off 2 energy drinks and a cookie. Employees like this should be asked if there ok to work before they start so there can be someone who actually is capable of working efficiently. As I was leaving the store I noticed a car seat left out and no one around it, how can there be a car seat left out and no one takes it away! My overall experience was disappointing and unprofessional and once I got home I decided to give the store a call to tell them about my experience so I asked for the general managers name and I believe It was Kammy or something but I was told my call will be transferred to them but there was no answer and the call hung up! I will never be going to this location every again!

Yelp
The Heights HEB is a mess. It is bad enough that you can't get through the stores because there are clueless associates with huge push carts all over, but the busiest shopping day of the week....saturday, there is no bread and no ice cream. When i asked i was told "they haven't stocked it yet" this is 11 am. I would think with all the in the way carts everywhere they would want to take care of in store customers first but it doesn't seem so. Then to add more confusion, this store decides to move the aisles during store hours. Now if you look for a lotion i.e., cetaphil, get ready to look at 3 different locations because that's where you are going to find it. what a mess. I am back to kroger!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of the worst HEB's I've been to. Particularly, their curbside service is terrible. Routinely, park, text, and then wait while other cars behind me get their groceries. I get it everyone's busy and things get crazy. But today, a Sunday morning, hardly anyone there, I bring back some water jugs that I purchased from the store. I asked them to return them. Employee took them and the. 10 minutes later the manger walks all the way out to my car to tell me I can't return the jugs through curbside. Mind you, you're supposed to return these back to the store. I told him I didn't care about the deposit. He just simply refused to do it, even though it would've taken less effort to do so rather than walk all the way out to give them back to me. It's like they're trying to take a convenience and make it as inconvenient as possible. Well, I know it seems like a small thing but stack it on top of all the other instances of terrible service and I'm don't with this place.

Yelp
Omg curbside pickup is amazing. Quick, easy, all the items I wanted were in stock. Gonna check produce later. The attendant was super friendly, helpful, and answered questions I had, too! Update: Well, they forgot one item that I added after the initial order. It was added two days ago, so... Kinda irritated by that. That tells me that they print out a list immediately and don't double check after. They credited it without hassle, though. Nice!

Yelp
This place has an escalator that brings your groceries down. Sometimes your shopping cart will come down timely as you come down too. If you come down early, you can sing "THERE SHE IS!! MISS AMERICA" and walk away with your loot in a very serious manner. I read in the news some lady got sexually assaulted(groped) in the elevator, that's why everyone should just go up the escalator and leave the elevator to the people who are missing a leg or too fat to get off their motor scooter. No one's gonna cop a feel on a fat pleb. T-T' Anyways. :D I like dis HEB, it has lots of white ppls and they give you funny stares! I say hello to them and sing a little jig about the sweet spicy sauce near the chikuns. THERE ARE A LOT OF PPL INSIDE, SWAAAAAAAARM!! Make some fart noises to clear the way. The parking is plentiful, don't freak out driving on Shepard, terrible drivers so just watch your six and nine. DOWN RIGHT LEFT RIGHT TO GTFO! VROOM!

Yelp
My favorite HEB! Since it opened I have been going to this HEB location, and I swear that it gets better every time. They are continually stocking the produce and prepared foods departments (guaranteeing that you will get the freshest products available), and consistently monitoring the number of check-out lanes open and available, so shopping here is usually very efficient and quick, even on Sundays. The layout of this store may seem confusing at first since the store is located on the second floor, but as soon as you enter the double doors near the produce section, it all makes sense. Shopping the outer edge of the store is a breeze, but I dare you not to venture down the middle aisles to pick up some of those delicious HEB-only staples like That Green Sauce. If you park on the ground floor, just let the checker and bagger know when you check-out so they can make sure to pack your cart accordingly (i.e., nothing too unstable/breakable/heavy on the bottom rack or in the front rack since the cart has to go down the car escalator while you ride alongside it), and if you park on the top level, just be sure to watch the corners when you navigate your way in or out because most people choose to ignore them. Overall, this is an awesome HEB that makes grocery shopping fun. I don't think that I save as much in coupons when I shop at HEB than when I shop at other grocery stores, but that's okay because I would rather enjoy my shopping experience and get what I want rather than save a few bucks. Cheers!

Yelp
Considering I came here on a holiday I was impressed with how quickly we got through the cashier self check out line. There is also a huge number of cashiers open in self check out line options so that it wasn't too busy with the holiday craziness. I didn't really get a chance to look around the produce in the meat section too much because we are focusing love you're getting, but it did what I needed to do. I think my only area of concern is that parking situation can get really crazy!

Yelp
Pretty swanky grocery store. This place is near my dad's house and I walked over to get some beer. They have a huge selection and the store itself is massive, very clean, and offers a lot. They have helpful and friendly staff and tons of variety and options. The only problem is that they're on the pricier side, which is fine for quick trips, but I wouldn't come here for a full shopping trip unless I was ready to spend a grip...
