Located within a shopping plaza, this is a medium sized supermarket inside with all your typical Korean grocery needs. There’s also a vast selection of Korean side dishes at reasonable prices, many options to look at to take home. It’s very clean and organized in here with neat displays. Staff are quick at checkout, lines were not long.

Nicest H-Mart I’ve ever seen. Great selection of takeaway food. Really clean and well stocked.

When you go inside the parking lot, you can park there for 3 hours for free. Usually, there are many Korean products. One good think about this Plaza is that there is a dining hall at the base level. One of the restaurants I would prefer to visit is the one that sells Donkatsu. I ordered #15 (costs $14.98) , and it's a good price for a meal!

Absolutely loved this place! So many different foods to try that’ll you want to buy everything! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to come back New York again!

I love H Mart! It has all the Asian goodies. I get the fruit here (cheap!). They also have the viral mango ice cream. Good desserts like mochi. My kids love noodles (Buldak!) and they also have Yakult and Ramune. This particular one is a lot smaller than the one in OC. I wish they had more hot items and a food court. It’s inside a mall, so there’s plenty of other options. I have to say it’s a little janky inside. I hate the parking situation- it’s inside a run down structure (although they do validate). My ultimate pet peeve is there is no service inside. Customer service is not the greatest but that’s what I typically expect and not out of the ordinary.

Well thank you

Google
The fish was placed directly on the plastic (non-absorbent) side of the pad, which caused it to absorb a plastic smell. Unfortunately, this made it unsuitable for eating raw. Please make sure the absorbent side is facing up in the future.

Great place to shop for Korean goodies and some select Japanese goodies. Been coming here for around 19yrs now. Time flies. So glad they're still around and doing well. I'll continue to shop here when I need a quick fix. Parking is generally free. Sometimes you have to grab a ticket, sometimes not. But even when you do, usually when exiting, there is nothing to pay. Guess it depends how long you stay. I'm never in there too long unless I'm gonna stop at the nearby food court on the same floor (bomb food, by the way).

Google
Hispanic big male manager has to be investigated! He has a personal big ego that thinks he owns the store!! Very unprofessional and def will argue with u and go one on one with you!!! Be careful with this manger! He is not willing to help nor try to understand but just goes against u and says what he wants!!! Unbelievable that the problem is the manager and no wonder the cashier feel some type of way!! Be careful

Yelp
Amazingly fabulous, Korean-inspired grocery store, centrally located in the heart of KTown! If you've read 'Crying in HMart', like me, then you absolutely must check out this grocery store for the cultural experience! The place is enormous, loaded with an amazing array of authentically Korean food! You can find everything from exotically flavored Doritos and KitKats to traditional Korean treats like choco pies--which I remember having as a kid--so how and when these delicious marshmallow chocolate cookie treats disappeared from Vons is anyone's guess!? When I went on a weekday evening after 7, there wasn't a crowd, and the vibe was pretty chill, which allowed me to explore with a Korean American friend who helped me navigate the fabulousness. I spent only a short time here, and I will definitely be back, as I could honestly spend hours exploring all the unique snacks and deliciousness. If you're a fan of experiencing an authentically cultural Korean experience- and maybe have read, 'Crying in H Mart', or 'Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow', this is a place to check out! Similarly if you just love trying new things and have never gone into a Korean inspired grocery store, this store is a MUST!

Yelp
I work close by in the area so sometimes it's easier and faster to pick up lunch here. In the back corner of the market is where they have these items. Some of the things I've had: Japchae- my favorite! Seasoned well and consistent all the time. And cheap! Depending on weight less than $4.50 and it's a filling meal Mixed veggies - good but needs some sauce or seasoning Fried tofu- can be a bit salty but good for some protein or with the mixed veggies Combo meals - can range between $6-$10 Corn - about $4 for 3. A little gummy but edible. Kombucha salad smooth but a weird vinegary flavor Lines can get long at lunchtime but if you go before 12 or after 1 no problem If you head there in the morning around 11 when items are freshly prepared then they're still warm otherwise you'll need to warm it up (no microwave on site). Some hot items are also available in a heated area.

Yelp
**February 2024: Monday Early Evening Visit** I'm a fan of Asian grocery stores in general especially their grab and go items as the selection is more flavorful than Western markets. I did have some reservations about coming to this H-Mart since it's nested right in the middle of a very busy part of LA. Thankfully, they have their own parking structure and they validate! Whew! The shopping experience in this location is must small and tighter than locations in the suburb (as expected), but I felt that in the heart of k-town that they had a good assortment of the basics. I wanted to grab a tray of kimbap and also found a pop-up sweet potato cart which was unexpected, but welcomed! This is definitely an option if I need something quick and healthy before going to the Magic Castle or other Hollywood attractions.

Yelp
Not friendly cashiers, horrible customer service attendants and most of all, $5 parking for 15 minutes parking because i only bought $23 worth of items and they will only validate 1 hour parking if you buy $30 of more. Arrogant as you are HMart, I go to California Market Place and boycott HMart, There is nothing at Hmart that I cannot find at California Market and their prices are way cheaper. Keep up your arrogance and you will fold up soon!

Yelp
This supermarket has everything you would expect at a Korean supermarket. The biggest issue here is the parking garage. If you don't read the signs carefully about paying for parking, you'll be stuck parking in line thinking you can pay at the gate. Just to find out that you have to back up in a tight space manuevering around other cars, reparking, then walking back inside the supermarket to pay for parking. For whatever reason the credit card machines at the gate does not work. It was a huge inconvenience to have to reverse and make others get out the way just to pay for parking.

Yelp
It's not bad. Good selection of unique stuff only in Ktown. Problem is it's not cheaper. My former roommate said to shop at Korean markets for cheaper food but the produce and everything here is not in fact cheaper. Come for the unique items but don't expect a deal. Their hot food/sushi is not bad but again, it's not discount prices, it's just regular. Parking garage is helpful in this area so that was nice. I'd try other Asian markets before here though.

Kenneth Y.

Yelp
H Mart has everything you can think of buying at a Korean Grocery SuperStore. I go there for the Kimchi as it is priced better there than any other store. Their Noodle and Ramen selection is also very vast.

Yelp
I love that this location is fairly close to me! The store is smaller than the other ones I've been to but they honestly have everything you need. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all so I easily shopped and out of there in 15 mins. They have freshly made food to buy daily and most importantly, a decent size parking garage. It is also attached to MaDang Courtyard which is a very cute small outdoor shopping mall if you're looking to grab a quick bite.

Yelp
Was in town for a Christmas party and wanted to do some Korean grocery shopping so I chose this one, as it's in the Plaza. Two birds with one stone - grocery shopping and lunch in the food court. When I lived in L.A., H Mart was not one of my go-to's. Plaza Market was my favorite market and this H Mart replaced it. And I tried the H Mart in Rosemead (?) and their banchan dishes were ick. However, now that I live in Vegas, I can't wait for it to open here. Korean grocery prices seem to have jumped more than "regular" groceries, at least here in Vegas. So I was blown away by the prices here. The items on sale were fantastic! So of course I had to stock up. And get my favorite/the best mandarin oranges. The cashier asked me if I was a member and when I said no, he asked me if I wanted to sign up so I said yes, figuring it'll come in handy when the Vegas store opens early next year. He handed me the application and swiped the card on the spot. Saved me $30. C'mon H Mart, hurry up and open the Vegas store! We're all waiting hungrily.

Yelp
Do not purchase meat at this location. We brought home some marinated rib eye from their meat case to throw on the grill and it was incredibly fibrous and tough. The marinade also had a strange sweetness to it, almost like an artificial sweetener had been used instead of sugar. Just an overall strange taste and aftertaste that lingered and was very unpleasant. We disposed of this meat after a few bites.

Yelp
I bought a cake in this store, and went home and ate it, I felt something taste different , when I checked the cake, there was something dark color in cake and it was mold. Oh my gosh!!!!! I ate mold!!! You be careful when you buy something there. Check carefully!!!!!!!
google avatar

Danah U.

Yelp
I bought this on December 30, 2024. When I was about to drink it today I just saw this molds inside. The bottle wasn't open and the expiration is not up until Jan 14. I have no idea how this happened, BUT YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL! Make sure to check all your items before purchasing. I will never buy this again. I have ways been a customer in this location but this is the first time this happened to me. I almost got myself food poisoning.

Yelp
If you are African American do not go into this Mart they are very rude and I stood in line for 10 minutes while the guy was at the register right in front of me and never acknowledge me. I was looking for a place that had great reviews called 33 Chicken and I asked the woman sitting in the information booth right when you walk in here it was located, and she told me don't bother her because she's on the phone and then when I made it to the restaurant the guy told me they don't sell chicken yet the entire menu is based around chicken so I take this as racism. I'm going to tell every human being I know not to go to H Mart in KTown. SUPER RACIST
google avatar

Yelp
Love H-Mart! Great selection, but the customer service lady clearly resents having to do customer service. Honestly, avoiding her might be doing you both a favor.

Yelp
I was introduced to this location by a friend of mine who's interested in the Korean culture. She frequenced this location for her usual groceries. I must admit I have fell in love with some products. I love the wide array of noodles, rice, spices amongst other things. The people are so polite and the cashiers are wonderful. The store is clean and plentiful. Shopping here can become quite addictive. I will definitely be back...once again

Yelp
H-Mart is always an enjoyable outing for me and is in my top 2 list of favorite Asian grocery stores. One reason is they are in several major cities. My visits always include new and interesting finds as well as the excitement of stocking up on some of my staple items that I can always be sure they will have in stock and or good quality. One of my favorite pickups is seafood. They have several live options to include dungeoness crab, clams, muscles, urchin, and even Geoduck! The produce is on the pricey side but always looks good and they have items that cannot often be found in other grocery stores. Their Asian snack selection is top tier offering many options and comparable pricing to other Asian grocers The fresh meat selection always looks good but is pricier than other grocery stores. They have a great selection of frozen Asian favorites that are better than many takeout restaurants. The store is always clean, well stocked, and offers good sales deals. The lines get long but move very fast, the validate parking and there is often spaces Available near the entrance.

Yelp
It's a bit pricy everybody says but they got really good deals sometimes When it's not definitely on the higher side Been helping a lot since I moved from my parents and this place helps me to keep to my family roots and literally have everything you ever need in your life Thanks a lot !

Yelp
There are many Korean super market in Los Angeles. I always use them. I saw the Nagaimo $ 1.99/ lb in H Mart advertising. This is very good price for me, so I drove 35 miles from my house to there. I saw that the price of Nagaimo is $4.99/lb. I asked to staff about this false advertising but staff and store manager showed me different item with 1.99/lb. This is not right. If they advertise the item with certain price they should sell that item with that price and should not show different item. This is a deceive and fraud therefore I strongly recommend "do not use H Mart at all".
google avatar

Yelp
As a pre-cursor, I write this as an American who doesn't usually shop at Korean markets, nor generally cook with Korean ingredients. But every once in awhile, I crave some Korean treats but also like to gift "novely" items not usually found in American chain markets. So, this H Mart is convenient for me to go to. Because this location is in a mall, there's free parking in the adjacent lot off of James M. Wood Street as well as San Marino. It's a dense store and there are tight, awkward squeezes near the front between the seasonal displays and produce section. Now, there are definitely basics that anyone one of us can pick up between the produce, sauces, rices, etc. The Seafood section is OFF THE HOOK - I've never seen so many water tanks with live seafood outside an actual aquarium. Loads of meats, drinks and candies specific to Asia. A fun novelty - Hello Kitty toilet paper - I kid you not! This mart is really for food - you're not going to get copious amounts of hygiene products or cleaning products -- save that for the big box stores. I assume with the import fees and inflation, products are priced on the high side and there don't seem to be many sale options. Still, convenient for those in the area and I'd definitely come back again if I'm in a pinch or need a fun snack!

Yelp
Cashier Joshua is extremely rude. He has a problem. He looks so miserable and bitter. It's my few times seen him with bad attitude. I go to this location because it's closer to my house. This store NEEDS to check their employees out how bad attitude towards to customers. It's was a simple thing, I asked him if I wanted to check EBT balance, NOT my card, I was shopping for my mom, and she was with me at the moment. He didn't respond and just rung. So I repeated myself again. He ignored. Then he just finished. What the !!! I didn't say much, I just grabbed my groceries and left. Yes, I spoke nicely. Yes, he understood what I said. We both perfectly speak English. He is just rude. He is unfit for this position. NOT even say hi to the customer, not even following a simple thing. Why do you work there ? Joshua? Seriously?

Yelp
Quick to locate things you need; groceries, snacks, household items, etc. The employees move fast and efficiently. It gets pretty busy I came around six in the afternoon and the store was pretty busy. Every aisle was occupied with a good amount of customers. Makes it hard to move around. Found what I was looking for though so that's always great. They're always restocking so you can always find what you need.

Yelp
I went here around 1:40pm on a Saturday recently and noticed this HMart is a lot smaller than other HMart locations I have been to. I also thought this HMart was a little weird since the cash registers to check out is outside of the actual grocery store and NOT inside the store since they used part of the mall near the fountain area for that. This HMart is different from other HMart locations I've been to because this location doesn't have a food court. It makes sense for them to not have a food court because this grocery store is inside of a mall that has one, so I'm not too disappointed about that. Other than it missing a food court, I liked the variety of items they sell here since I haven't seen that at other HMart locations. I'd recommend this place! Everything is a lot cheaper here compared to the HMart locations I have been to and it is nice how they have a good variety of snacks and food to choose from. It can be a little confusing finding where to check out because this location is so small.

Jamel P.

Yelp
I am a black American man and I went to H-mart to get something to eat and I was racially discriminated against. The security guard, cashiers, etc would not speak to me or answer any questions. I noticed they were very respectful to the other patrons that were of Asian decent.I have spoken to other black Americans about my situation and they expressed they were not shocked because they experienced the same treatment. H-mart in Korea town needs to be federally investigated. They clearly don't like black people. Thank you for your time
google avatar

Jimmy K.

Yelp
Customer services are extremely poor. A cashier (mid age Korean female) was very very very rude to a Older Korean customer in front of my eyes. So sad!!! Will she treat her grandma or mom like that? They need to educate employees how to serve customers with proper manners.
google avatar

Denise L.

Yelp
Convenient H Mart in the Koreatown Plaza. It's a bit dated than the newer H Marts, but has everything you need!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
H-Mart is amazing. Good selections amazing. freshness amazing. The selection of not just Korean food but other foods like Japanese, Taiwanese, Chinese food and others I have not mentioned... Just to point out, this was the 1st time I went to an H-Mart and will definitely not be the last. I definitely want to go back again and ready to spend more on these amazing groceries
google avatar

Ami H.

Yelp
ai love Hmart! usually pretty clean, big and variety pf food and a LOT cheaper than Japanese grocers stoee even if it's same product! hope they expand to west side!

Addison V.

Yelp
First time going there. The place was nice a lot of great product. What ruined the experience was the service from the cashier with the mask on the 3rd checkout. Very rude, doesn't greet, not patient, with a bad attitude and shaking receipt so we can get out. Mind you it was 830ish, there was no one behind us.
google avatar

Hovhannes K.

Yelp
You have to see it to believe it. You will not be sorry. I found condiments in sizes and concentrations that I did not know exist. I found some amazing drinks. They have live aquariums you can select seafood out of. No more spoilers.

Hyun A.

Yelp
A Latino male employee often comes in women's restroom to clean without knocking event though the women's restroom is still in use. This happens all the time. I don't think the management cares about it. I can sue H Mart. I mean seriously. I personally experienced this incident many times and that was very embarrassing!
google avatar

Blessy B.

Yelp
The main reason we buy our groceries here is because of the meat and fruits. The fruits are well taken care of. I've yet to see a moldy fruit. They have some already cut and packaged and some in large boxes. If you ever get to try the golden kiwi, do it, it's delicious. Towards the back end, they offer plenty of hot foods. Lots of side dishes as well. If it's your first time... I recommend going down every aisle and checking out all the different snacks and condiments. They also have a large variety of noodles. I think the price is a lot cheaper than the normal grocery store for the instant noodles.
google avatar

Tracey C.

Yelp
This is Mark store is really hidden places because on the map is say on the street level but turn right is on the ground level. You have to take some excavator downstairs. The store in there is really enough for stuff and a lot of stuff they don't have it stuff is really good, the place is really neat but is really small. If I go, I want to go to a big one. I have more variety to buy.
google avatar

Yelp
12/9/21 The "H" in "H Mart" stands for Han Ah Reum, a Korean phrase meaning "one arm full of groceries" Quality/Quantity - This is one of the biggest Korean Grocery brands. If you crave cooking Korean food, this is the place to go. Quality is very consistent and is good in all locations. The selection (quantity) is also good, except we could not find the Crispy Puff Rice Crackers here? Atmosphere - Consistent with their other locations. Good fresh quality with plenty in stock conditions. Service - N/A, usually self service Price - Expect to pay more as this is a speciality market. I always get surprised at how little I get for the cost $$$, yet I keep coming back because it is a one stop shop for Korean groceries. Owner Suggestion - Congrats on being the largest Asian American Supermarket with 84 locations, including international locations in Canada and London, especially from your humble first 1982 store in Queens, NY. I actually thought you were owned by a Korean company, not from the US.

Yelp
HMart is one of my favorite grocery stores. They have nearly everything you need, especially when it comes to Asian ingredients that you can't find at regular American shops. Customer service is always friendly and will go out of their way to help you and even give recommendations when needed. While the shop is usually busy, it never feels too hectic to take your time to find what you need. They're always fully stocked and if there's some thing that they don't have, there's another HMart less than a mile away that will likely have what you're looking for! 10/10!
google avatar

Yelp
I went to this Korea town plaza many times to the food court but I never went to H mart until today. I want to pick up some Korean pears for my friend before I go back home. In the morning around 10:30 am, everything looks clean and fresh. All the vegetables and fruits are nicely packaged, the meat department is clean, sushi master is preparing fresh sushi. All the workers are busy filling up the shelves, cleaning as the go, and very helpful. The prices are pretty much the same as the one I go to in city of Diamond bar. They have a lot of check out/cashier open, even if there's a line, it moves quickly. I would recommend to check out this supermarket and you're inside a mall. Is a fun place and supermarket inside, pick up some items after you done shopping at the plaza.

M K.

Yelp
When I'm grocery shopping appropriate music would be more fitting, but you always play loud k pop, making me want to hurry up and leave. why do you have to play that just because it's an Asian market? you should broaden you thinking.
google avatar

Melody A.

Yelp
Small HMart. Everytime we accidentally come, we realize it never has what we want just because of how small the place is. Parking is free for first 3 hours with validation. We will say that the deli section is solid, with just enough of every kind of appetizer you'd want- fish cakes, seaweed, chili fish, roasted fish, beef sushi rolls, egg fried crab cakes. We prefer the city plaza HMart which is just 0.5 miles away.
google avatar

Female eminem F.

Yelp
I bought mangosteens each pound 20$ !!!! They were all spoiled inside . Very low quality and expensive. Bad cashiers ( not friendly at all and not smiling not greetings, very bad manners )
google avatar

Maria C.

Yelp
Love the fresh fruits and vegetables we can get here. The variety in different kimchis is great. Service is always good. 100% recommended this grocery store you can get everything you need to make a KBBQ at home too
google avatar

Jane J.

Yelp
I live the variety of food and the big space and ambiance of people working there and people shopping there. It's a no judgement zone if you're trying new things. I also love the fresh food section when you're grabbing dinner to go

Jose A.

Yelp
During a recent trip to the market, my family encountered a distressing situation. While shopping, we were inexplicably followed by two security guards, which greatly detracted from our overall experience. This unwarranted surveillance made our shopping trip uncomfortable and disappointing. the family experienced feelings of harassment.

Cristina A.

Yelp
Honestly disappointed. This is my family's favorite store . We are regulars . Today we were followed by the security guard. My family and I felt harassed . We ended up doing our shopping quick and left. Never thought our favorite store would do that . We come here every week.

Yelp
If you're unfamiliar with this place don't take offense so easily yes you're going to another part of town where the people are very rude and they don't say excuse me , I'm not familiar with Korean culture and people but that's what you're going to experience as a person of color! They have a great selection of vegetables that you typically don't see in regular stores BEST BRANDS OF KIMCHI They take cards but not ebt so don't expect that if you're coming with assistance programs

S P.

Yelp
This review is for H-Mart online and not the store location. I recently placed a large order from Hmart for close to $200. After several days, they send me an email stating they had canceled most of the items in my order (close to 60%) and only shipping some of the items. No reason or explanation given. This annoys me since the canceled items were the main reason why I placed the order in the first place! This isn't the first time they have done this. I am done with Hmart!

Yelp
This is my absolute MUST Asian grocery store. While I usually make stops at a few other stores as well, no grocery trip is ever complete without the bulk of my shopping here. First, this is still THE most Covid-safe store I know, where, to this day, they still hand out plastic gloves to shoppers. I remember breathing such a sigh of relief seeing this in practice for so long, especially when other Western chains, or even other Korean markets, started to relax some of the tighter policies. Of course it isn't necessary, but when it comes to greater security, as a high-risk person, I always feel safer coming here. In my opinion, the 2 things that stand out here the most compared to other Korean grocery stores are: 1) meat selection. I simply find their meat cuts are superior, and that their choices offer a consistently greater, high quality variety, especially in the shabu-shabu meats. If I over-spend anywhere, it's here. 2) noodle/ramen variety. This section is always huge in any Korean grocery store. However, I have consistently found that this store has a greater breadth of selection with international flavors. This is the location that I discovered laksa, curry, and Singaporean chili crab ramen. They're not always available, but I always find something new to try here, and am like a kid in a candy store. The only thing I've noticed since Covid started, which I hope is temporary, is the banchan section. I haven't really enjoyed the depth of flavor of their myulchi bokkeum (stir-fried anchovies), or the other selections. This used to be my favorite store for these, but I now rarely buy these here. It's unfortunate, and I hope this changes in the near future. Still, I love this store for everything else!
google avatar

Christine Q.

Yelp
I love HMart! I don't have one near where I live, so everytime I get the chance I come out and make a stop and pick up some foods that aren't usually at my local korean store.

Yelp
Located in the Koreatown Plaza. Parking is free with validation. Great selection of items just like a typical local grocery store but with Korean/Asian items.
