My recent domestic travels (NYC and Seattle) included grocery stops at H Mart. Mostly for drinks, but partly because I was curious if each location was different from the ones back home. Looks like I'm keeping the streak alive with this Grand Canyon State visit.
This H Mart is on the larger side, with 63,000 (they're claiming 71,458?) square feet of eating and shopping! I like the general layout, it's better than most locations. Ample spacing between the aisles, no one is going to ram their cart into you by accident, But lots of boxes scattered on the floors, which can be a tripping hazard. It wasn't so busy during the evening, the crowds were light except for the food court area.
Products are predominantly but not exclusively Korean. There's lots of kimchi, banchan AKA side dishes (반찬), instant noodles, snacks, and beverages. Produce looked pristine. Their meat selection was extensive. Didn't see a poke bar, but I saw freshly cut sashimi being prepared. Plenty of seafood and frozen food options.
They also have a home section filled with cooking ware and small appliances. I also saw a K-Pop store, a beauty salon, and an Aritaum cosmetics store. Stop by the Paris Baguette bakery on your way out, or grab a dessert at Snowtime.
Food court has slightly less variety compared to the H Mart I normally frequent, but they have the essentials. So if you're craving tofu soup, katsu, ramen, udon, wings, jajangmyeon AKA black bean noodles (자장면), etc., worth checking out.
