As someone who loves Korean food! This supermarket is so amazing! In the entrance they have all kind of kitchen supplies and Korean cosmetics and then the fresh fruits and vegetables! The whole aisle for sauces, snacks, drinks but the area I like the most is the area of prepared Korean side dishes and all kind of marinated meats for Korean BBQ!!! I wish I could brought the whole supermarket back with me!!! The experience shopping here is enjoyable. Also they sell all kind of Korean gingseng drinks

They monitor people using parking lots and try to tow a car if someone leaves the premises for even a few seconds. I shopped at Hmart and picked up my food at the restaurant in the plaza. A minute later, three guys were about to tow my car. Fortunately, I could stop it but they charged me $140ish for it. Indeed, I saw them towing more than 5 cars just in 30 minutes. Never go nearby to this place. They are monitoring people every second, including their customers, and ready to tow a car in a minute.

I went here during a school field trip for my international class, the staff were very nice and the selection of Asian snacks were wide and amazing! I enjoyed all the products they sold and they were kind enough to even give us gifts! 5 stars!

Google
We took our students who are studying Korean as a foreign language from our middle school in Brooklyn to this H Mart before going to Mad for Chicken for a cultural experience. The workers at H Mart were super helpful and made us feel welcomed. They also have an amazing selection of items.

Google
Great spot for a wide range of Asian munchies, food, ingredients fruits and veggies. Parking can be a challenge to find during rush hour and getting out of the parking lot during rush hour is interesting.

A few months ago, I brought my students to the H Mart for a field trip, and it was a fantastic experience. I teach students with no prior cultural background in Korea, and this visit gave them a great opportunity to immerse themselves in the language and culture. The staff at H Mart was incredibly kind and accommodating, creating a welcoming environment where students could comfortably practice speaking Korean. They also gave them plenty of time to explore and shop at their own pace. It’s wonderful to see H Mart fostering strong connections within the Korean community in New York.

Google
Last time I posted a picture of them selling moldy bread on the shelf, they have made obvious changes since then. Hope they can keep it up.

Google
Trouble parking situation and towing business here. Saw at least 3 cars towed in the span of 15 minutes, them getting into your car and taking it away with no notice... Hmart here isn't even that amazing and have def been to way better hmarts. Save yourself time and money and take your business somewhere else, away from this plaza !

Yelp
Nothing more to say other than--we love Hmart. So sad we don't have any remotely close to us in Florida. Our friends did their grocery shopping for things they would need for the week while we loaded up on snacks, freshly prepared foods, and baked goods.

Yelp
Korean Supermarket chain with many locations in New York and New Jersey area. You can find all kinds of Korean products, snacks and ingredients. I needed barley tea bags and corn tea bags . I was able to easily find these two items here. The aisles are narrow but neatly arranged and well stock. It's busy here on Saturday with limited parking.

Yelp
This supermarket has several stores in Flushing, but this one is close to the Koreatown Murray Hall in Queens. The place was similar to the other places by size. When I entered, the produce was quite cheap due to competition. The counter for cooked items was small, where are they are stored in freezers. Ordered the japchae, stewed tofu, and fish sausage gimbap. The checkout was fast as there were several were open.

Yelp
They have everything you are looking for although their quite pricy their in store made scoops is also pretty good for a economical price

Yelp
Came to this location because the other location on Roosevelt closes earlier than stated online. There is minimal parking In the garage but is free with a validation I came around closing so didn't have issues finding a spot. The prices were reasonable and definitely had a pretty large selection but bought mostly snacks + herbs such as cilantro and parsley. I did visibly see some produce with mold growing such as the packaged turmeric so maybe not much of a fresh produce place without careful inspection but got a lot of goodies including the marinated spicy crab

Yelp
H-Mart has all the variety I didn't know I needed. I was hanging with my friend in Queens and needed to buy some miso paste among other things and she decided to take me to H-Mart. It's huge. There's so much to see. So many beans and items I've never seen it used before. It was fun. They have great fish, lobster, and a huge crab that takes up an entire tank. It's a sight to see! I don't live in the area so I may not be able to go back anytime soon but I'm glad I went.

Yelp
Great place to get your Asian groceries(more so Korean and JapaneseZ best place to get food/grocery and they have the best snacks!

Yelp
My all time favorite supermarket. It always has fresh produce and always find what I need here. They're very organized and clean. The cashiers are very nice. This Korean supermarket never disappoints! Would I recommend? Absolutely! :)

Yelp
Plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. Huge selection of meats and vegetables. Huge parking lot, but can get hectic on weekends because the kot is shared by many businesses. It is located in a plaza amongst a Pizzamaru, Korean BBQ, Vietnamese food, halal truck and many other businesses. There are lots of food stands inside HMart to sample noodles and dumplings.I tried a fried oyster, not expecting to like it at all. I got it for a yelp photo of a stand. To my surprise, both my mom and I really liked it. I got a pack of oysters and asked the lady if she fried it with regular flour and she walked me to the aisle and showed me which flour she used (photo below) and that it was on sale Woo! Now I can make it for father's day dinner tonight. This store is very clean and organized. I enjoy their sashimi and cooked food section. Very convenient and reasonably priced. The staff here all have really nice manners. The cashier was more pleasant than the ones in Long Island I'm used to. She handed me my reciept with both hands. Love this place!

Yelp
Do not buy produce from H-mart. They have many selections that are in small boxes, that you can't open or see clearly. They sell rotten produce -covered in green mold. I took it back to the same day with receipt, and they would not give me a refund. The Customer Service is rude to you when you're not Korean. Horrible. This item was $9.99 on sale from $11.99, not exactly cheap, but not expensive enough that the store should be concerned. I have never experienced this in my life. It's not the money, it's the attitude of these employees who literally treat you like crap. Do not buy the fruits in packaging, they are not reliable at all. Selling green mold food is DANGEROUS! Reporting them to the state food inspector.

Lulud P.

Yelp
I went to Hmart at LIC,closer than their branch at Flushing. It has a lot of ready to eat food, seafood and other Korean food. Very convenient

Yelp
Most frequently visited place to shop for the Koreans or Asian minded shoppers in the area. The large parking lot gets full, but overall its a good experience. Pricier than other places, but clean and stocked with fresh stock. Large choices of kimchee, side dishes (banchan), fresh seafood, rice, ramen/instant noodles, fruits, good greens section (lot better than HanYang down the street). It's a good one stop destination for busy shoppers looking for Korean/Asian food.

Yelp
My friends and I arrived about 15 minutes before the closing of the store. We were very glad that they still let us in. This hmart is pretty big and has parking, which made the experience much more convenient. The store was well organized and clean and the staff was friendly. We didn't receive any pressure to get out of the store, which I appreciated. They have fresh produce and a bunch of deals going on! I ended up spending way too much on food and snacks. Overall, I had a good shopping experience and would recommend the trip!

Yelp
Wish I could give This Hmart location a 0 star. This Hmart location is terrible. They sell mold growing noodle in their store & refused for an exchange cause I paid cash & I could not provide a receipt. I asked them to check the camera but they said I needed to call police! Huh?? Why I need to call police for a bag of mold growing, spoiled noodle?Very bad Management At this location. I just left the bag of disgusting molded noodle for them to enjoy. Never come back at this location 156-40 Northern Blvd & will even think twice to go to another Hmart at all. Always loved to shop at Hmart but this incident really disgusted me!

Yelp
Racist and/or ageist manager! A Korean man that's friends with the manager bumped into me on purpose, causing me to almost fall over(if it wasn't for the fridge to catch my fall, I would've had gotten severely hurt) did not even apologize. My friend and I walked past him to look at who this rude person was and he started cursing us out in Korean. Then he proceeded to tell his manager friend and they both were giving us nasty looks and cursed us in Korean(I was with someone who understands Korean). Also, the man kept walking pass us to give us nasty looks while I was paying along with the rude manager. I'm a regular here and definitely at most hmarts in the flushing and long island area. Never have I ever experience such terrible employees. Hmart, please reevaluate these employees and management. It doesn't matter what ethnicity you are. If you bump into someone, say sorry. Even if he did not speak English well, I can understand "sorry" in Korean.

Yelp
I saw the price was $6.99. But they charge me $8.99. When I showed her the sign on the shelf the cashier snatched it away from me and said that expired. And still charged me $8.99. So rude. I don't like their service at all. Lots of wrong prices. You have to watch them like a hawk
google avatar

Isaiah C.

Yelp
I absolutely love this hmart. First off, their fruits and veggies are always fresh when I'm there and don't have fruit flies lingering above them. The place is air conditioned which makes it very homey while shopping groceries. The parking lot is a huge factor as to why i'm here all the time. I do most of my local big day shopping and random snack crave shoppings here. The selection isn't grand. But I can almost guarantee whatever you need they'll probably have.
google avatar

Cortney W.

Yelp
I went in looking for chopped ginger in honey. A friend had introduced me to it. I roamed the aisles for awhile before I decided to ask a worker for help. He was very willing to assist and helped me locate what I was looking for. While it wasn't exactly what I was looking for (ginger was minced instead of sliced) it was close enough for me. The store is well organized with Korean products as well as some American products. It was nice that there were sampling stations all around the store to try products. Also notable: -the fresh fish area -hot food was available -multiple registers were open and lines moved quickly -variety of household items available from slippers to throw blankets Area to improve: I wish the signs were easier to use when looking for items. I will definitely come back!

Yelp
Why 5 stars?? - THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINED, just be a ware for a faithful Hmart members!!!! Guess what, the cashier with initial P.Y who worked in this afternoon (18/03/19 03:30) was cheated me, didn't ask me (or other costumer) if have a member card or not, and scanned his own member card. Dude, I am a member too. In my opinion, this is a point rubber. The points supposed to be for customer who spent money in this store. Imagine how many points he took from other people beside me. Why 5stars??? Since you were stole my points so I give my 5 stars for you (P.Y) too. So now you have my points (that supposed to be for me as a member) and my starts. Good luck bro and peace.

Yelp
Customer service desk woman is rude and not knowing what customers all about. Terrible. A Chinese customer asked for a refund and they treating him like "why the heck returning the item once you bought it" and My friend heard "let him get money back without tax we charged" in their language. Friend of mine know how to speak Korean. And the Chinese customer keep saying " it's horrible so horrible " It's illegal and customers have right to get refund and racism!!

Yelp
Very Nice H-Mart! It is a bit smaller compared to other H-Mart I needed but it has everything you need. They carry a lot of fresh produces and fruits. The meat and the seafood here is a average price compared to other h-mart. Very swift and efficient check out process.

Yelp
This hmart is just ok but parking is a nightmare!!!! The parking lot is always full. I came during lunchtime on a weekday and we had to fight for parking. Not coming back to this location again

Yelp
Warning to corporate editors: the push pin is wrong, the one now is at 153-10 (at 153rd St) while this business is at 156-40 (at 156th St). I can't tell whether it's because some folks don't know the differences between H&Y/HanYang/Han Yang Mart and HanAhReum/Han Ah Reum/HMart and or whether vandals by some side edited it, but regardless, problems. That the Edit Business is locked suggests some sort of drama. Fix it. I've been here just once 3y ago and remembered it as the larger one vs the same chain location 15 streets west (which I saw as being permanently closed as of yesterday when I drove by its large signs). It's memorable as it sits in the rear of a Northern Blvd-style strip mall (with a few other Korean business, all busily patroned). Its size and orientation are its foremost problem, unfortunate as the staff clearly work hard to overcome those problems by sheer labor. For example, produce section is fully stocked despite having a very limited layout that causes some items to have smaller sections harder-to-find in between other sections. The seafood section is small, but it features just about every type you'd need, they really try to make the size work. The dry goods occupy the center of the store, as it always does, but the store's more limited size is a real limit. The rear and far walls have an amalgam of booths, small vendors, and other bits better implemented as HMart's other far larger locations. The beef section width is very small. That the hot pot thin sliced beef was mixed in the pork section was confusing and added 10 minutes. Otherwise, quality meats, all lean very quality but also very expensive. Lack of a fresh baked bread section was surprising, but perhaps the store staff misdirected me when I asked for "baked goods, bakery" while I was in a rush of time thus didn't get to re-scan the whole store to be sure. I really could've used some fresh baked bread which I'd expect to be of higher quality than the Chinese grocer's usuals using anonymous white flour which tastes even worse than government flour. I give 4-stars not 3-stars however because the food quality is very good, despite the organizational and layout problems. I'll still come back, just hoping they remodel and get a physical refresh.

Yelp
Stopped in a few days ago to get kimchi-making supplies, and, of course, ended up with some other wonderful items as well. The store is large enough to accommodate plenty of customers with ample room for social distancing. The produce, seafood, and meat were very fresh, and the prices were quite reasonable considering the quality. The selection is excellent. Every staff member I spoke with was helpful and pleasant. All in all, a terrific experience. I will be back. And, for anyone who is wondering, the kimchi I made was delicious!
google avatar

Cindy U.

Yelp
Not the largest in size when you compare it to the other Hmarts, but is the place to go to for some amazing Korean eats. You can find all the snacks that you are craving, fresh ingredients for your Korean meals - even anything else you're trying to whip up. Wide selection of fruit and vegetables so it is a big plus being that everything is fresh. I wouldn't really ask for help being that some of the staff don't speak English and/or aren't too friendly. I personally love this place for being the one stop shop to get everything that I need. Hmart is always clean and it's easy to get around so it is a big plus in my books, especially if I am limited in time and I really need to get in and get out!
google avatar

Mavis Q.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. There is no one at customer service, no manager in duty, no one available. Cashier is mean, unprofessional and rude. And definitely not helpful. They rather standing and chatting with male packer than actually doing their job.
google avatar

Richard D.

Yelp
This hmart has a bunch of stuff, but it's not as nice as the ones I've been to in Jersey or Northern VA. We stocked up on meat and veggies. the prices are slightly cheaper than in manhattan, but its not worth it to drive out here considering how much of a pita it is.
google avatar

Virginia Y.

Yelp
Holy guacomole, they had a sea urchin sale where it was $5.49 a pack. That's the cheapest I've EVER seen Uni sold for !!!!!!!! This place is so much better than the hmarts in manhattan, it's almost as big as the ones in jersey but they still offer a great selection. You'll find around random aisles that free samples being offered to showcase a certain product. There might be a wait depending on what you go. Don't forget to sign up for your hmart card to get extra savings!
google avatar

Yelp
Come to think of it, I don't think I ever bought anything here (shhh, don't tell them that), but I do visit it a lot. When walking around the area, I like to stop by here. During the winter, there's heat! During the summer, there's air conditioning! During weekend and holidays, there's ample amount of free samples! 1. Try some Asian pears at the produce section. 2. Try some cooked bulgogi. 3. Try some of their seaweed. 4. Ooh, they're advertising their fishcakes. Gotta try some of that too. 5. Ramen! Gotta try some ramen... Ooh, it's spicy... 6. Ooh, chips. I like chips. I think I'll try some of that too. 7. Huh, I don't know what that is... I wonder if I should try that... And when you reach the cash registers.... 8. Eww. The lines are way too long. Yea, I don't think I'll be buying anything today. Maybe when the line is shorter....

Catie B.

Yelp
Worst customer service. Try getting a better cashier worker! The lady with glasses snatches money and talks with attitude when talking!

Ms B.

Yelp
Amazing staff at this location. I didn't get a basket because I didn't think I was going to get a lot of groceries so I was holding to a bunch of things and some dropped to the floor, the staff, Hae Soon (hope I spelled her name correctly. She wear glasses and was walking around to make sure everyone was okay) quickly went to get me a basket and she's the one who was also supplying plastic gloves to everyone. During a time like this pandemic, it's so nice to have such kind, helpful and wonderful staff. Thank you so much. I hope I got her name correct.
google avatar

Ro R.

Yelp
Set up here sucks, since they need to reorganize their register and the crazy line here, but I am really happy they now carry ORGANIC YOGURT drink. Yayers!
google avatar

Raymart D.

Yelp
FREEEE SAMPLES!! Go on the weekend and pretty much get a meal. 1. Bulgolgi (^_^!) 2. Ramyun (^_^!!) 3. Fishcakes (^_^!!!) And because I'm not shy to go back for more than one sample, I come back for seconds. Why not? I can always rely on Han Ah Reum to get my meaty goodness for barbecue and other Korean necessities like ramyun even though I'm not really Korean. This H-Mart is smaller compared to other H-Marts, can get super crowded (AIGO! o_O) and the set up is a bit of a head-scratcher. Get ready to have a tussle with an ajhumma if you ever do go on a weekend haha :)
google avatar

Wahed K.

Yelp
This HMart is quite far from where I live but since the missus and I are hell bent on exploring the Flushing area for good cheap eats and asian grocery stores, we HAD to make a stop here and find out what they're all about. We found a handful of goodies here. The best of which was the marinated bulgogi that was on sale for $4.99/lb. That's a STEAL! It comes pre packed in a plastic container. The one we bought lasted for a couple of meals and was really easy to cook. The banchan and fish sections were impressive as well. While we didn't buy any fresh fish, we did buy a container of stir fried anchovies which I ate with almost everything at home. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=c5lZcoZ43Pht6EqPm4zfxg&userid=33h9Jv4VKbbxB42CUD9WQg It's a trek for me to get here and with so many good asian stores groceries closer by it's a hard sell but hey if it's a nice day out and I'm feeling adventurous again then one never knows...
google avatar

Jane H.

Yelp
I love coming here after a Paris Baguette visit. The produce is a hit or miss. For the price, I might hold out until I can go to a Chinese supermarket, as many of the same produce is more expensive here and sometimes not as fresh. The good thing is that this place has a lot of organic options that the Chinese market might not have. BIG plus is the fish cake selection -- so varied and so cheap! At certain times they have free samples throughout the store. They also have a Korean beauty products section -- which is great because Korean beauty products are SOOO good! Their snacks selection is great too.
google avatar

Theresa L.

Yelp
Usually stop by here whenever I'm in flushing to buy grocery. In my opinion kinda pricey except when they have sales.they have free samples if you wanna try. Good selection of ramen and Korean food.
google avatar

Abigail T.

Yelp
Of all the Asian supermarkets you will pass by from the Van Wyck expressway on Northern Blvd, this H Mart is by far my favorite. It's located in an arcade with a Vietnamese restaurant and Paris Baguette as its neighbors. Decent size and has most of what I need to make a great meal.
google avatar

Ramón B.

Yelp
Everytime I go here it just keeps getting better and better. Though I shop there after 10pm which might sound strange but I like the quiet that I experience. I will try to shop during regular people time to get the full experience. LOL!
google avatar

Seni Z.

Yelp
I consider myself a very open minded person who is willing to try food from other cultures. Today, a Korean staff member here discriminated me. She was warming up a Korean rice sausage and allowed another Korean customer before my eyes to taste it. When I asked her if I could taste it, she said "No, there is no tasting!" I do not look like I am from that part of the world so this eliminated me. This is what is wrong with our world today. I told the manager so she could have a conversation with her. I've been shopping there for a long time and always end up buying Korean products because a nice well-mannered staff member insists that I taste it. I feel very torn off about what took place today. I don't think I will be spending my money where I am being discriminated against. I have more choices! I will also relate the story to my family members so they can decide if they want to go back to shop there. It made me very sad!
google avatar

Ray C.

Yelp
Terrible customer service, employees unable to communicate effectively what they're trying to explain then storm off frustrated. Be aware that their machines will not take credit card, but I used it just fine moments before stepping into the store. Debit worked just fine. A lady in front of me had the same issue and paid with cash instead. Coincidence? I think not.
google avatar

Cam L.

Yelp
Sucks that I have to give a low review. I used to enjoy shopping here since the place is clean and has a decent selection of fresh foods and Asian spices. Like some yelpers mentioned, their quality has been slowly getting worse though. I've experienced buying rotten/moldy vegetables from here the last couple times I came (the pre-packaged vegetables, which means you can't pick or see how the middle pieces look like). Not only that, I also noticed that they tend to overcharge me. It happened one time, and I didn't think much of it since like mentioned before, I used to like this place. But today was the second time within the month!! I'm sure they would correct the charges for me if I asked the cashier right away, but it's too bad I only found out when I got home. Double check your receipts before you leave!!!

Yelp
A trip to NY to visit my parents wouldn't be complete without my mother insisting that we go to a mega Korean supermarket and loading me down with more food than I can pack into my small suitcase. How great is the mega Korean supermarket! I bow down to its greatness...I build a shrine of fresh fruits, Shepherds purse, rice cakes, soondae, yoju to you, oh you beautiful establishment of so much food! What else do they have: all sorts of fresh produce, fruits and vegetables and some things you won't recognize if you are not Korean, lots and lots of fish, lots and lots of meats, multiple assortments of ramen, dried red peppers, red pepper flakes, dried vegetables and weeds for making into banchan, wonderful packages of Korean cookies and sweets including my favorite puffed rice sheets, many different kinds of rice cakes, a whole selection of tofu and miso, a wonderful selection of kimchee!!, rice cakes, Korean bakery goods, cds, makeup, dishes, steel chopsticks, rice makers, lunchboxes, and more than can fit in one review.... Seriously, it's more food than the eye can take it. Plus, they were giving out tons of samples the day I went, including a sample for fried rice cakes. Fried rice cakes....yum. Oh, and their soondae is really good. As well as their fried rice cakes with sweet beans in the middle. And I bought back a bunch of food to SF in my suitcase.

Cara Q.

Yelp
I give this store only 3 stars. Their fish and seafood is excellent, but their customer service sucks. I'm sorry I'm not Asian, but when I see the cashiers laughing and being friendly to other Asians, then give me a nasty look and clam up when they see me, it kind of gets me annoyed. I love their products, but come on people, is my money not green enough for you?!?! You give me the cold shoulder and an attitude, but you're quick to snatch the money out of my hand.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
Variety of Korean snacks to buy its awesome ! Right after eating at Jongro kbbq I usually go here to shop for some snacks to munch on
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
I love this place!! Nice and clean too the prices are not overpriced!! Better than the deli's who're always over priced! Check out is real fast too!! Only wish they had certain frozen things in english too would boost up their sales! As most people dont know what it is!
google avatar

Qi G.

Yelp
This is great for a late night ramen run! The food here is a little pricey... there are many items you can get in a Chinese supermarket for much cheaper. However, their hours and location is really convenient for me. I mostly come here for the packaged foods, so I can't say much about their fresh produce.

J L.

Yelp
WARNING: You might meet some moody and rude employees when you least expect it! I'm not sure if people will read this. But I went to Hmart today to pick up some stuff for myself and a friend. One of the items I bought was part of a sale but it was so far back in the shelf that this Korean lady and I couldn't reach it. So I asked an employee on the same aisle that looked to be doing the price labeling. I didn't get his name but he is definitely tall and in his 20s, short black hair, speaks English fluently. I know this description doesn't help LOL but when I asked him, he let out a big "UGHHHHHH" and aggressively asked "Where is the item?" I pointed to the lady and said "it's over there. " before I even finished my sentence to say that the lady is trying to grab it, he interrupted me saying "What is the item" in the most rudest tone I ever heard. I told him that it is in the shelf at the end and he proceeded to quickly grab the item. Just judging by his body language, I understand that he was in a rush trying to finish his tasks but bc of his attitude, I was incredibly irritable for a bit. I know that hmart has employees that doesn't take their customer service seriously so even talking to a manager or maybe even corporate is useless. This location has been there since my childhood (15 years) and i have never walked out of hmart in such a bad mood. So I decided to write this review to let all viewers know that when you shop here just be prepared for some unexpected rudeness especially if you "bothering" an employee from doing his job. It is uncommon but it happens P.S, 2 stars since they have great sales

Yelp
Awesome Korean Supermarket. They have all types of stuff including other Asian but predominately Korean. Great prepared food section. They also have cubed radish kim chee which I can't seem to find anywhere else. Their have the typical H Mart sections of groceries, houseware and make up. On the weekends, they always have tons of free samples of food. No better way of testing before you buy. I like this particular one too as they are slightly bigger than other H Marts that I've been to and they seem to have more selections of everything, including the prepared food. I usually stock up so I don't need to cook for the next few days. The Parking Lot can be crazy as it's in a strip mall and shared between a few other businesses.

Yelp
Came here to look for some tea and noticed some free samples of cake. Got a piece and continued looking, and then I stumbled upon some sample of kimchi and other appetizers. After that, we kept walking and got some samples of fish cake, and I thought to myself damn I wanna buy everything I just tasted, but in the middle of that thought there was a free sample of beef, and then some protein drink and then some tofu and then some ice cream. This place is awesome !!!! Everything in the store seem very fairly priced and I heard from my friend theres 1 dollar (40 Oz) beers !!! Hit this place up and leave happy !!

Yelp
My go-to Korean market for everything Korean! We grab our giant sacks of rice, premarinated Korean BBQ meats, tofu, packaged kimchi, and other Korean food items here. I'm here almost every other week, and it's been such a regular part of my life. When my mom comes to town we go there to grab giant cases of Korean cabbage so that she can make me Kimchi! They have a small fish monger area in the back, and Ikura and UNI! I've always been suspicious of uni at Asian supermarkets - I'm occasionally served horribly bad uni at sushi places so have assumed that it's really hard to get quality uni. Thankfully I found today that's not the case! I bought a 3oz tray of uni for $7.99 here - and I tore into it when I got home and it was SO good! As good as the $12.99 tray of uni I got at Mitsuwa in Edgewater last week! Rock on! I still don't trust the sashimi packaged in the fish section (I once got horribly sick from it), but will definitely indulge in uni the next time I'm here!
