Twelve Hotels With Sights Set on Sustainability

"A 19th-century building in central Rome, just to the east of the Piazza Venezia, is where you’ll find H10 Palazzo Galla, an 82-room outpost of the Spanish-born H10 hotel chain. Across all H10 properties, an ambitious sustainability program aims for the following goals by 2030: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 75 percent, reduce water consumption by 20 percent, and reduce waste by 25 percent." - Mark Fedeli

"A 19th-century building in central Rome, just to the east of the Piazza Venezia, is where you’ll find H10 Palazzo Galla, an 82-room outpost of the Spanish-born H10 hotel chain. And despite its Spanish affiliation, it’s Roman through and through — its interiors have been thoroughly renovated in a grand style that suggests the best of several eras of Italian style, from the turn of the 20th century to the modernism of glamorous Postwar Rome and even a bit of quasi-minimalist Italian luxury design." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Rome, after a cruise. We arrived in the morning and were greeted with cookies/biscuits and choices of espresso, water, or soda. It was very nice. They kept our luggage for us until our room was ready, and provided a map of the city highlighting the top spots to see. The staff was very friendly and always available for questions or assistance. The location was perfect. Within walking distance to several things we wanted to see as well as shops & restaurants. The room was great! Our bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space for our luggage. One of the highlights is their rooftop bar with views of the city. It was amazing to be up there at sunset. Their cocktails and snacks there were good too. Would definitely recommend!

We loved this hotel! It was in a fantastic location and was a short walk to most major attractions. The hotel was modern - looks like it’s new or very recently renovated. We had a deluxe Roma room which was very spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was very good. The gym was very small and had only limited amount of equipment. The rooftop patio bar has a great view and it’s a great place to sit and relax. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends!

Beautiful hotel with excellent service. In a fantastic location see the major sights. Trevi fountain is a 7 minute walk. Piazza Venezia is around the corner and the Roman Forum is 5 minutes away. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished with a good sized bathroom with a fabulous shower. Lovely cleansing products are in the bathroom. Breakfast has a nice selection. The staff were very helpful. They had arranged a car for us from the airport and when we arrived early hours in the morning after a delayed flight they were helpful and very welcoming. The rooftop bar was the perfect place to watch the sun go down.

Just returned from a weeks stay in this hotel in Roma. Beautiful hotel that is 10 mins walk from the coliseum and other attractions. We had a side room on the 6th floor with a king size bed (Superior Venezia). Room was kept spotless, was actually quite quiet considering we were in central Rome, and had effective air con. Bed and Breakfast was the only option on offer and breakfast was really good with everything required available. There are obviously loads of restaurants nearby offering Italian food. There is also a Cantonese restaurant 5 minutes walk away in the Baroque area if you fancy a change. Expect to do a lot of walking on cobbles in Rome so this hotel offered a welcome return from a busy day. The views from the roof terrace was beautiful, the only thing stopping me using the terrace more was lack of shelter up there, rarely were the sun umbrellas open to offer shade. |What made this hotel stand out though was the friendliness of the staff. They were exceptional and a credit to Rome and H10.

We stayed in this hotel for just 1 night while passing through Rome. It was booked in advance of our trip so I didn't remember fully much about what I had booked.||Our transport arrived and we were immediately greeted by two staff at the door who took our bags. As there was a wait at reception, they had us sit down and relax in the lobby while kindling giving us a drink of our choice while we waited. These two gentlemen were simply excellent - very helpful and chatting away to us!||Check in was straight forward and the receptionist was pleasant, offering us dinner recommendations near by.||Our room was small but very well decorated and a nice sized bathroom. The hotel and our room was modern and kept very well maintained and clean.||There was a rooftop bar - at least, that's what we thought. The rooftop was accessible but it was closed for some reason, which was a shame! Lovely view from the roof too!||We had a small bite to eat in the lobby which is where the bar is. Its a bit disappointing they didn't have a more closed off part of the hotel for drinks and a bite to eat - their menu was a little limited too.||Breakfast was in a separate room to the rest of the hotel and had a buffet and table order service menu also. Nice food!||Having stayed in Rome several times - I would recommend this hotel. Its downside is the poor lounge bar and food offerings!||The two gentlemen at the lobby were on hand to help us check out and really added to the vibe of the hotel - wonderful touch in my view!

We recently stayed here during a 3-day trip to Rome, and our experience at H10 was mixed. The good....the staff were (mostly) kind and helpful throughout our stay, with the exception of a few snarky workers at the bar & restaurant. We booked a large 2-room suite with a balcony which was lovely, spacious, stocked with nice amenities, and the beds were comfortable. The location of this hotel is also nice and within an easy walking distance to many attractions. The not-so-good....the food at the restaurant was absolutely disgusting, overpriced, and flat out inedible. We paid $100 for breakfast for three, and the scrambled eggs were watery and they tried to pass off a hot dog as breakfast sausage. Nowhere else in our European travels did we encounter this. It was positively repulsive. Equally as repugnant was the smell in the hotel. I'm not sure if they were cleaning carpets or what was going on, but there was an absolutely overwhelmingly nauseating smell of carpet powder that made us sick. We paid over $700/night to stay here and having paid the same amount the week prior at The Cotton House in Barcelona - THAT was a FAR better value for the money, and the hotel was significantly nicer, too. Based on our entire experience, we likely wouldn't stay at the Palazzo Galla again.

Excellent location within walking distance to many of the most popular sights in Rome, a great rooftop bar with, very clean rooms, and the staff were very helpful. The room was a little small, but comfortable. We stayed here for five nights and if I was returning to Rome I’d come back here. We didn’t get the breakfast option, but there are plenty of places nearby where you can grab food early so didn’t feel it was needed.

We stayed at H10 Palazzo Galla a few years ago and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were a little on the small side, but every detail was thoughtfully considered. The staff were very welcoming, and the hotel is close to major tourist destinations in Rome, making it extremely convenient. Slightly expensive, but worth the stay. We would happily return!
