Ha Thanh is a Michelin Bib Gourmand Vietnamese Restaurant situated south of Hoam Kiem, the Lake adjacent to the Old Quarter. Experience has taught me that it is rare to dine in both a charming ambience AND to have good food. I would always trade the former for the latter, but when you get both, its a unique experience. Ha Thanh is one such experience.
The signature dish is the camaralised pork, the beef cubes and the fried spring rolls which is the best I have ever had. The restaurant is in a century old mansion. You can dine in the courtyard, on the first floor or on the other floors. The service staff is very attentive which added to the experience.
A Bib Gourmand in Europe would consist of a three course meal under EUR40 per head withiut alcohol. In Vietnam, this can be had easily for under this, perhaps half the price.
This deserves to be listed.
