Really happy to see this spot doing a great selection of vegan options, however, the time I went I wasn’t impressed by what I had. Portion size of the nachos were really small, and the tacos I had tasted a little stale. The lime that came with my tacos was also clearly defrosted, because when I squeezed it no juice came out. Not as fresh as Mexican food should be. Was an okay meal but was expecting more. Maybe a one-off as others seem to love it. Great service on the other hand!

The food is consistently delicious and you can tell they really take care to make sure you get your moneys worth. The people are always so friendly and accommodating. The prices aren’t dirt cheap but they’re fair. Places like this, where they remember you and treat you like a neighbor, are a huge part of what makes New York great.

A casual hidden gem for an authentic Mexican food experience! Came in for lunch and was so pleased. The portions are generous and the service is super friendly. We had the Carnitas Burrito and three different tacos (baja fish, grilled steak, al pastor) which were amazing. They stood out so much from the tacos that I've had at other places. The burrito also was one of the juiciest burritos i've ever tasted! Thank you for such high quality food.

DON'T EAT HERE! one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I found a very sharp piece of metal in my food when I ordered take out last week. While I was eating my enchiladas, I bit down on something hard and it turned out to be a VERY sharp, jagged piece of metal. I called to tell the staff what happened and walked back to the restaurant with the uneaten dish and the found metal. I asked for the dish to be refunded. The staff was very polite and said it would be refunded through the online ordering platform. Now it has been almost a week and after several emails back and forth with the restaurant and the ordering platform, I still don't have a credit to my account. This type of thing shouldn't happen but I understand that sometimes it still does. The issue isn't so much the metal in my food as it is the struggle to receive a refund for the dish in question. The food is mediocre and expensive besides. I can only hope they try to improve.

The food was yummy here! It’s a nice little place. The strawberry lemonades were freshly made and it was really good. Corn was a bit pricey and missing some chili. The tacos and burrito were delicious and filling. The staff here was warm and friendly!

I ordered food from here today and it was SOOOOO GOOD! I ordered the chicken fajita and the steak quesadilla and everything was so good😋. The food was made quickly and the staff were great. I would 100% order from there again. I’ve also came here previously and I would recommend trying the plantain nachos, they are so good!!!

Delicious and fresh. Had the gazpacho soup (huge bowl) and the mole tacos. So filling. Loved the Jamaica Aqua Fresco, not sweet and so refreshing. Service was quick and easy. Appreciated the umbrella seating outside. Second time here, will def be back!

Very good vegan food (with many options). A lot of food for the price and the quality was great. Indoor/outdoor seating and bathrooms available. A cash only establishment, so it was a bit inconvenient.. I had to pay an extra $2 for the ATM. Will definitely return in the future!

My friend and I were nearby and searching for Mexican cuisine. Before we sat down, a frequent customer convinced us to stay and eat. I'm so glad we chose this establishment! The sat outdoors because we had a baby boys with us, the weather was perfect for an early dinner. The mango margarita was delicious! The guacamole and chips had great flavor. Shrimp Taco: the best I've ever tasted in my entire life and I cant stop thinking about them. Chicken Taco: soooooo delicious and second best. Fish Taco: average, but good The waitress was attentive and friendly, amazing service. This is the only Mexican establishment I will be eating in when I'm in the area! A MUST TRY!

Forgot to take a picture of the tostadas which are two per order, stacked with beans, cotija, sour cream, lettuce ect, delicious. Small space but I was shocked the food was good. Will return to try more of the menu. Didn't catch the servers name but she was super nice and bilingual . Solid spot didn't expect from a Mexican place in "Williamsburg".

I had the aguachile special which was one of the more memorable aguachiles I've ever had, particularly because this one was the size of my head. You definitely get shareable portions here! The service was friendly, and the dining area was warm and intimate. Cash only!

Outstanding. We're from Texas, eat a lot of Mexican food and we've been all over NYC looking for the best spot and this is it. Amazing service, amazing food, amazing prices. 10/10. Love this place, it's the best around without a doubt. Will be returning (we live far away, it's worth the trip).

I cannot get over how good the food was! I could not believe how many vegan options they had! Great place to take vegans and non vegans! The California burrito was WOWWWWW and the nachos were amazing!! Everything is made from scratch. The seasonings and flavors are incredible. The wait was well worth it!! They are a very sweet family and the space was very cute and decked out in Mexican decor. Coming back soon!!

The veganand non vegan dishes were fantastic, and the drinks were exceptional. The staff provided excellent customer service, and Esmeralda was particularly outstanding. My family and I love this place. All of the Margrairas are amazing

Not only was the tortilla cold but who puts mangos in shrimp taco?! Not only that but it was a lot of mango sauce in my taco.. thought it was a mango taco. Called server over and express to him that I couldn't eat this. He told me there's nothing he can do. If I would like to order something else but it will be an additional charge. Like really? You order a drink and you don't like the drink you send it back to get it fixed right? Why do I have to pay for something that I can't eat? ... nothing will come from this but thinking about eating here ??? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ..

A friend asked me out to an impromptu dinner and knowing she has twins and a business I redressed in joined her at Haab. My friend has been telling me about their burritos, guacamole, and fresh tortilla chips for ages exclamation poit's! I love Mexican food and I tell you this place is one of the best I've had since my trip to San Antonio a few years ago. Anytime I see enchiladas on a menu I am going to get them. I love them, though the dairy does not love me back. There was a nice drink menu, alcoholic and non alcoholic. My friend got a fancy new hibiscus lemonade and I went with the tamarind Margarita. The food came out quickly, fresh and very hot (enchiladas are served in a special bowl). We enjoyed everything immensely. The staff is down-to-earth and friendly. Definitely worth coming back for more!! Thanks Haab staff for a great evening!

Caught me by surprise. Amazing chicken pozole and hit the spot on a rainy day. Some of my favorite salsas in town. And had some great dairy free options for my significant other. Can't wait to come back.

This place has skyrocketed into first place as my favorite taco spot. It is located on a quieter street in East Williamsburg so it feels less crowded with traffic and people. It is cash only, so make sure you hit the ATM before coming! From what I remember, there isn't really anywhere to sit inside, but there is limited covered seating outdoors if you want to dine-in. The food is pretty affordable but you may want 3-4 tacos if you're really hungry. They have a ton of vegan/vegetarian options which is amazing. Everything was so flavorful and well prepared. I truly had such a great first experience here, I can't wait to come back again and again.

The place it's very nice. The food it's delicious you can order through Grubhub for pick up if you don't have cash on you. This is my second time coming back with family. We all loved the food here.! Vegan food!! Delicious you can't go wrong with the vegan burrito which it has kale toffu wild rice. (So good ), we also order the chilaquiles verdes con seitan. It seems like very few people work here since we saw only one person taking orders, answering phone, wrapping the orders.(thank you for caring for our food) he took his time wrapping our food with plastic to make sure nothing spills and to ensure the food can keep the temperature.) This it's the type of place you definitely want to give it a try and of course go back !! Haab is a great surprise and one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. We found them online with vegan options so we ordered and really enjoyed the classical Mexican flavors. After a few times we ordered delivery, and when it was safe, we decided to visit them. Not just that the food is always delicious, it is also served nicely in big plates and the service is always great. In the last 6 months I've eaten there approximately 10 times and was never disappointed. The food has classic flavors, not over complicated, and delicious. Definitely recommended!!! Fav dishes (all vegan): Chorizo burrito Seitan quesadilla Nachos

Definitely do not recommend this place. This place used to be a cool place to connect with others, but the atmosphere and quality has gone down. The prices are high, but most of all, the staff is incredibly rude. Especially what you pay to cowork here, it's unbelievable how rude and unaccommodating they are.

I visited here recently and had the best, vegan Mexican food ever. I could taste their love in the food. Just sublime! The service is super friendly and the waitress gave us the best recommendations. Also! The tamarind margarita and the mint and hibiscus sparkling lemonade is also divine!

My experience was that the Service was garbage. Horchata was gross. And they just seemed overwhelmed when the place was rather empty. Maybe it was just my experience, but I probally won't be returning

This is a restaurant that has to be checked out frequently, I didn't noticed that they have a changing menu. As I walked by last night, I saw the sign on the sidewalk listing some food. I went inside and asked what it was. I chose to try the Mexican Shrimp Primavera, is a pasta with grilled vegetables. This special is only served till Sunday. From experience restaurants with changing menu create delicious meals. The pasta was excellent, right on the spot with a different flavor and lots of extra sauce in it. The sauce was amazing, it had that spicy hot flavor from the Mexican hot green peppers, first time I had pasta with hot green peppers in it, it tasted good ! The only thing that was missing in the dish was a side of roasted bread, they don't even make garlic bread here. I asked for the dish to be served in a to go dish, I thought I wasn't gonna eat it all, surprise to me, the dish was soooooo frEkEn good, that I had to eat it all. People with dogs can come eat and sit on the sidewalk tables with their dogs, that is kool !

Not enough well trained staff makes for slow service. Get a busser. A few months ago we sat looking at a dirty 4 top for our entire meal. Not very Appetizing... Consistently imbalanced. It's a Sunday at brunch and you don't have bloody Mary's? Why? Where's the prep? Furthermore, the order has been wrong on more than one occasion. Write it down. Check on your guests after a min or so of receiving the food. Redeeming quality is a fake kindness. I love Mexican and the food is usually the best around here but I don't think we will come back for a while. Sorry to write these things but a business should know. Train your staff to work together better and anticipate guests needs. This restaurant could be so much better.

"We've been doing it that way for 8 years." That's the response I got when I called to explain that one tiny piece of corn cut in two was not a reasonable order size for $6. Also the $18 fajitas come with 3 tortillas. Huh? I've been eating at this place on and off for all 8 years of their existence and each time I'm disappointed I say never again, then time goes on and I give it another go. Fair warning y'all. If you want amazing vegan Mexican, do yourself a huge favor and walk to Black Flamingo!

We love this place! Amazing vegan menu, amazing meat menu (according to my partner), friendly service, great for pickup or for dining in and reasonable prices for the area.

Be careful when ordering and the waitress switches up questions to fast because she will end up charging you more than expected. Please be abvised.

This place makes me happy. I live around the corner and go here all the time. Everyone is always super nice and the food is yummy and reasonable. Huge menu, vegan and vegetarian friendly as well. Great margaritas too.

Best authentic Mexican restaurant that has vegan options! CASH ONLY. The staff are always kind and no matter what you get on the menu you can't go wrong, literally everything tastes amazing. Been going here for years and it has NEVER has disappointed me.

Came here for lunch with a friend who lives in the neighborhood. I had 3 tacos - steak, al pastor, and carnitas. They were all fine; a little dry. Friend had the Haab burrito, which was massive. She only finished half and had to take the rest to go. Cash only; they have an ATM inside if you need. Good selection of items - and also massive vegetarian and vegan menu. Doesn't apply to me but I imagine that would be important to some people. If I were in the neighborhood I'd probably give it another go to see if I had better luck with something different, and I would also test one of the vegan options too.

After reading all of the raving reviews about this restaurant, my fiance and I figured it was time to give it a try seeing as we live only three blocks away. We had the food delivered and it arrived hot, however, the food wasn't at all what we were expecting. We ordered chicken enchiladas, a fajita quesadilla, and a carnitas plate, and everything was super bland. The chicken enchiladas were topped with brown avocado chunks, and the chicken was unseasoned. And to be clear, I don't mean underseasoned, I mean completely unseasoned. It was literally shredded chicken in soggy tortillas. And the rice and beans that came with it were entirely unseasoned as well. The fajita quesadilla and the carnitas plate were both decent but were also underseasoned. Their one shining star was their guacamole which was actually quite good. Mexican food is usually such a flavorful experience, and this meal was just sad and disappointing. I don't know if this was just a fluke, but after such a terrible experience we won't be eating here again.

Haab is legendary among the ones who understand good food. The decor is basic, and on superficial viewing it seems just a generic take out joint. But the quality, the detail, the elegance of so many of the salsas, sauces and seasoning put it at the highest level of cuisine, regardless of style or price. Try the Salsa Fresca, try the Tamarindo Margarita, the regular salsa that comes with the chips. Try the home made tres leches cake. Try the shrimp taco, the meat tacos. Enhance them with the salsa fresca and just live a little. If you don't get it your heart is just made of stone. This place is a rare gift. Don't miss it.

Great spot to catch up with friends! They got amazing vegan options as well, the quesadilla was the BOMB!!!Great cocktails as well, just wish they served shots hence the 4 star. The place gets pretty packed, they got outdoor seating as well, make sure to make a reservation if you're going on a Friday night.

I love this place! Before COVID I loved their food. Since then, they put up an adorable outdoor section with umbrellas, tables and flowers planted all around. If you go to eat al fresco, they come and clean the table for you, then serve you menus and drinks. Entrees arrive in real pottery. I usually go for the enchiladas. They are baked in a small casserole dish and served fresh out of the oven with a topping of avocado and crema. Totally Delicious! They provide a selection of sauces as well. This is a family restaurant. I love their food, but I also like supporting local businesses!

Two words: Cactus Burrito. I've often seen lines outside of this establishment, so I was definitely eager to get in and try it on a cold, rainy, Monday night where the place was basically empty. Being exhausted from my day of traveling, I was afraid that I'd literally fall asleep on the table if I were to imbibe anything of the alcoholic variety I skipped out on the happy hour that my waitress enthusiastically mentioned as I was seated. Free chips and green salsa, with the typical Brooklyn-style mason jar of water were quickly delivered while my server went through the night's specials. One such special was the Cactus Burrito ($12.95). I've never eaten cactus before, so I was quick to set my menu down and just say "Yes, for that. Bring me the cactus." The burrito was huge, and it probably should be for close to $13, but it had a great flavor to it and was full of beans and rice, white Mexican cheese, avocado, and topped with a spicy white mole sauce. It also came with a small salad on the side with a vinaigrette dressing. This was a great flavor combo since the tart vinegar cut through the spicy flavors of the burrito. There were also three sauces served on the side (red, yellow, and green) that helped to kick up the flavor a notch if you are so inclined. Green was my favorite. All in all, a nice dinner that left me satisfied. The cactus tasted almost like a cooked green pepper? It was cool to try it, and left me feeling like I had more of a dinner experience to try something new. Apparently, they also serve pumpkin flower quesadillas. Not sure what that is, but kudos to the restaurant for intriguing my inner foodie enough to want to come back to try that! Yes, I'm a vegetarian. No, I don't want a salad... again. Solid Brooklyn option, and I'll definitely be back.

So my friend and I were looking for a place to grab a bite and I was craving Mexican. We knew the service was slow going in but I guess I didn't realize how slow. Their guacamole was great and laid out really nicely. And the salsa that came with was to die for. It was smokey, spicy and packed a lot of punch. I got fish tacos which--I mean, it happened. I wasn't thrilled. The fish was stringy like pulled pork instead of falling apart in chucks like tilapia would. That kind of creeped me out. There was also lots of cooked veggies mixed in with the fish (like cooked peppers and tomatoes) and it added a weird taste to it. I don't know that I'll be returning, even if it's close by.

Amazing, so good!!!! I had a grilled chicken quesadilla and a seitan taco and it was the best thing I have ever had. Just happened to stumble on this place. So happy I did :)

This place was excellent! My boyfriend and I arrived this beautiful Friday afternoon looking for a delicious lunch. We stumbled upon this place after leisurely walking through the neighborhood. I ordered the Huevos rancheros w/ steak and he ordered 1 steak and 1 cactus taco and two margaritas. This was probably one of the best meals I have had in the Williamsburg,Brooklyn area. My meal was perfectly seasoned and the drinks were definitely not water down. Also, our server was incredibly warm and friendly and made great recommendations. I'll be back!!!

I couldn't tell from the sprawling menu what the "must have" item was, so I opted for cost-effectiveness and got the chilaquiles, the red version. I enjoyed it; I feel like it wasn't as compelling as the chilaquiles at Yola's but I can't remember enough details for an articulate comparison. On the taco placero, I was disappointed that the "broiled egg" turned out to be plain old boiled egg, but the accompanying peppers were intriguing.

I ordered a vegan burrito and veggie tacos with my boyfriend and we are on a strict diet where we cannot eat meat. The burrito turned out to be a steak burrito that I discovered the hard way - and was not even tasty it was mostly all rice and beans. When we asked for our money back for the order (in person) they only refunded the burrito even though we explained it was really bad for us that they gave us meat and we will be sick. We are neighbors to this place and will not be trusting or returning.

I'm really glad they started excepting Credit Cards. The foods pretty decent and I enjoy the grilled chicken, and grilled steak tacos. The taste is pretty authentic but the shrimp taco takes the medal with the chipotle mayo sauce. The staff is friendly but could speed the service up a little.

I believe that a little over a year ago I was served pig rectum instead of calamari. The last time I ate here, the calamari salad served to me contained rings of something that, from my many years of enjoying squid, was absolutely not squid. It smelled aggressively like feces, as was confirmed by the rest of the horrified table. I returned it kindly, and then it was returned back to me with a statement from the chef that calamari always smells like feces. A story of this practice was told on This American Life. I wished for it to be nothing but an urban legend. I've been haunted by this experience ever since. On another occasion I was quietly charged $2.50 for asking for extra mayo. So, no. Can't recommend.

Amazing food!! The burritos are amazing, so full so delicious. Authentic flavor. If you get the tacos, must get the ones with the chipotle mayo. That mayo is addictive!! Drinks are soooo good too. Had the margarita passion fruit. Just perfect! Super friendly staff too! Definitely will come back for more.

So fucking good! One star knocked off for being cash only and no signage about it anywhere. Came out for restaurant week and they had vegan options. So so so good. We got seitan flautas, vegan tostadas, and chicken fajitas. Everything was seasoned to perfection and very, very fresh. It was filling without being heavy. Even the dried tortillas weren't too greasy or heavy. They make all their salsas and hot sauces in house, as well as the tortillas. And you can tell for sure. Oh and $5 happy hour all day YES please. Though the beau said the margarita was only ok. The service was a bit slow since there was only one guy working but he gave us a free drink to compensate our wait time. Super nice and attentive, and really appreciates our feedback. The restaurant was pretty empty but their takeout was hopping. Definitely give this place a shot!! It doesn't look like much but the food is fantastic.

Don't order from this place! My food never showed up and tried calling for an hour while repeatedly getting a busy signal. I never write reviews on here, but this was infuriating beyond belief!

Been coming here for years and love their food. Always Tate's fresh, homemade sauces, and fun. The space is not great in wi get but I love all the staff that make up for it!
