Seasonal outdoor eatery with Cuban sandwiches, frozen drinks, film nights

"That one time we went to Habana Outpost before an international flight, the frozen margaritas eased our pre-flight jitters, the leftover cuban sandwich was excellent plane food, and our large suitcase fit right into the mix. Basically, anything goes at this mostly-outdoor spot in Fort Greene. Bring a big group, bring a dog, get a $50 pitcher of something frozen and some diner-esque food, and take a seat on the large patio under a rainbow umbrella." - bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick, will hartman, willa moore, sonal shah
"That one time we went to Habana Outpost before an international flight, the frozen margaritas eased our pre-flight jitters, the leftover cuban sandwich was excellent plane food, and our large suitcase fit right into the mix. What we’re saying is that at this lively Cuban/Mexican/American spot on a corner on Fulton Street, anything goes. Bring a big group, bring a dog, get a $50 pitcher of something frozen and some diner-esque food, and take a seat on the large patio under a rainbow umbrella. And yes, you should get the World Famous Grilled Corn." - willa moore, bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick
"The closest body of water to Habana Outpost is probably a baby pool in front of some brownstone near the Barclays Center, but this Cuban spot in Fort Greene still feels like a beach party. Order a margarita and a cuban sandwich at their takeout counter. and then find some seats on their new sidewalk patio. While their huge back patio is closed this summer, this place is still a good spot to bring kids, dogs, or both." - nikko duren
"If the weather’s nice and you want to drink a pina colada outside, head to Habana Outpost. It’s a Cuban restaurant in Fort Greene with a huge fenced-in patio covered in picnic tables. They have everything from sandwiches and burritos to tacos and hot dogs, so your kids can eat some or all of those things while you drink a frozen cocktail out of a plastic cup. They also play movies in the summertime - check the schedule if you’re looking for something (besides tacos) to distract everyone." - bryan kim, matt tervooren
"If you’ve ever walked down Fulton Street in Fort Greene, you’ve probably noticed Habana Outpost. During the summer months, this counter-service Cuban spot has rainbow umbrellas covering a huge outdoor patio where groups of people drinking frozen margaritas try to hear each other over loud music. We’re not sure what it is about the experience of eating fish tacos alongside a boozy birthday lunch that’s next to a group of toddlers in strollers that makes sense, but we’re not complaining. The tables also work especially well for a spontaneous game of Chinese fire drill. So bring some cash, and order a few cuban sandwiches and as many ears of cheesy grilled corn as you have non-committal friends." - hannah albertine, nikko duren
