I finally tried Habanero. Owners Edith and Luis are in my Facebook group "Burbank Restaurant Support." I met Luis, he was very nice when we accidentally walked inside (it's a takeout place with patio tables outside, no dining room). We got quite a bit of food, but service was fast since we were the only ones there about 2pm.
My friend like her street taco combo. The spicy red salsa is pretty hot, so beware. I'll try the mild next time. It's nice to get pickled carrots and whole peppers, a nice freebie over most Mexican fast food places.
I got the carne asada nachos and it was enough for 2 meals. Loaded with meat, beans, cheese, guac, sour cream. I forgot this, and will order differently next time - I like chips, meat, and cheese like Rigoberto's or Alberto's in Placentia used to make. Massive amount of meat for $11 about 20 years ago. But I digress.
I also had to eat the carnitas burrito the next day, it's huge. Perfect blend of carnitas, rice, onions, cilantro, and green sauce. I should have added cheese, but forgot. Very tasty! Carnitas was crispy.
Take out, we got 3 bags of chips and plenty of salsa, so I had leftover salsa. I like that they make the chips, another plus over most fast food places. Looking forward to trying more of the menu, large selection.
