The 33 Essential Zurich Restaurants

"Habesha serves Ethiopian and Eritrean specialties, including a great lunch special and reliable vegetarian options. Most meals are served over injera, presented in colorful baskets, along with a few other dishes. There are ways to customize servings for one or more diners, and you can ask for the ayib (fresh cheese) to be omitted from vegetarian selections to make them vegan. For the more meat-inclined, there’s kitfo (minced beef) and tsebhi dorho (spicy chicken)." - N.A. Mansour

Our first time trying Ethiopian and we made the best of it. You eat with your hands obviously using injera bread. It wasn't as sour as we expected it should be but served it's purpose to scoop up the various toppings neatly arranged around the main dish. The flavors were quite deep and possessed great balance and spices.

Very fresh ingredients, tasty original food. Great for sharing, eating with hands makes it even more comfy. Very sweet and helpful staff. Highly recommended!

The best Ethiopian food, best value and portions are perfect. I ordered one veg meal from an Ethiopian restaurant nearby and was so upset once it got delivered. The portions were so small and so expensive for value so I ordered from Habesha and was happy when the delivery came. Great portions and value for money - taste and flavour are amazing! Thank you!

This was one of the worst restaurants Ive tried in my life. The meat was not really to eat yet! My stomach was not good for 2 days I don’t know what wrong but it was so bad.

The vegan lunch menu is delicious and just 10.50Fr when you pay in cash or 11Fr by card. You get a lot of amazing tasty as well as healthy food for a great price. I tell all my friends to come there when they’re very hungry because it’s so filling. If you’re not that hungry one meal can even be enough for two people ;) The owners of this family business are friendly and hard working wich is why I recommend giving a good tip if you are able. Enjoy ❣️

Lovely family owned restaurant. The food is delicious and you eat with your hands. The “marathon” menu and vegetarian for 2 were great and portions very generous! The waitress roasted coffee beans and offered us a delicious traditional coffee at the end of the evening. Prices are very affordable for Zurich

Do not enter! Food is not fresh at all, probably prepared a week ago! Now we are both sick with stomach-ache. I am from Eritrea, I know what I'm talking about.

Food was amazing and the staff was so hospitable. The portions and sizes are amazing. Prices are unbelievable too. You can tell that it is family owed from the love they put in their food and how they treat their customers.
