What a major disappointment!! Not only have the prices gone up but the quality of both the food and the customer service has gone waaaay down! Talk about ass-backwards! It's been a while since I've been here and was really craving my usual. Veggie burger with tempura green beans. The burger literally fell apart as I was trying to eat it. That's usually due to very old bread. It also tasted stale and just nasty! I couldn't even finish it! The tomatoes looked pale and gross but at least the lettuce was fresh. For $17.00 one would expect better quality for the price. Sadly, I'll never be back. This store manager clearly is clueless about why his numbers are probably down. 4 customers total on a SUNDAY when it used to be packed a year ago. THAT'S a problem Mr. Manager. Oh, and it would really help to tell your employees to smile and be friendly to your customers.

I’m giving this location a one-star review due to the unprofessional behavior of the manager on duty toward both a new employee and my spouse. The cashier, who was clearly new, was doing her best to assist us. When she asked the manager for help, the manager’s only response—every single time—was, “What is the question?” At one point, my spouse addressed the manager directly. She heard what was said but, without acknowledging us as customers, turned to the cashier and repeated, “What’s the question?” This lack of basic customer service and disregard for both staff and patrons is unacceptable.

Habit burger and grill in La Mesa Continuously provides good food and good service I usually get the BBQ char burger and the 50/50 French fries and onion rings they have really good ranch the restaurant is always clean and the staff is friendly and efficient food is prepared fast parking can be cumbersome at times the parking lot does get full it shares the parking lot with another restaurant

The food came out very quick ! Club sandwich was very delicious. Half and half sweet fries and onion rings were delicious. Manager Celene also made sure to provide excellent customer service .

When I walked in, I was greeted, which was nice, but I was having problems with my app the manager didn’t help me, but the cashier behind the desk did she was holding up everybody else to try to help me order but the manager was not trying to assist. I was able to order my food, they didn’t give me what I ordered, which was a cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce and onion rings onion rings was burnt… I tried to call the facility to speak to a manager, but they redirect you to use the app.

Would give zero stars if possible. Ordered payed online & when I arrived I noticed trays of food sitting. I let the front team member know that I payed online & gave her my name. She said she would be right with me. 15 minutes later after she'd helped another 3 customers that were waiting to order she finally started bagging the items that I saw when I walked in & then called my name. I noticed this & checked my food which was extremely cold. I asked if I could get my order cooked again due to ice cold food, but was denied. Then I asked if I can return the food & just get my refund & she said I would have to call corporate because I payed online. Very poor customer service & the front team member working at the time has no clue on what she is doing. You always give waiting customers their food first when its ready (especially after 15 min.) before you help other customers that just arrived. Not only this, but they made me feel like I was wrong & started being very rude when I first asked to get my order cooked fresh. This will be the last time I ever come here again due to very poor customer service!!

Habit Burger is like "The Office." It's amazing as a whole, and its cast of characters are each so phenomenal, it's impossible to pick a favorite. I have been in love with the Teriyaki Char since Day 1, but how am I supposed to pick a favorite item with sides like tempura green beans, onion rings, and sweet potato fries?!?! They are all SO good. Now that we've discussed the food, let me take this moment to give a shout-out to Manager Jenna. We came one night for take-out, and you could tell they were slammed with online orders and dine-in. This didn't phase her one bit. She took our order with lots of friendliness and a smile, and got back to doing five million things at once shortly after. She is phenomenal!!! Keep up the good work, Habit team!!

The restaurant was clean and was nice to sit in. The people behind the counter were very friendly. Unfortunately the food was stone cold. I ordered both a Santa Barbara Burger and 50/50 fries and onion rings. Great flavor, just cold cold cold.

This is generally been a go to spot for a decent quality burger at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is fast paced casual and perfect for having a little one. Unfortunately, my most recent visit on December 1st was absolutely terrible. It was a little busy for a Sunday afternoon and I was more than understanding of that so I even waited to check in on my food as they were apparently running behind on pumping out their orders. 25 minutes turned into 45 minutes and then over an hour. Because they were so busy and people were very upset approaching them, they were reluctant to come to the counter and I couldn't get any initial help asking or checking about my order. When I did finally get a chance to ask somebody, I was very kind about it Considering I've been in the service industry, and I understand how it goes. Unfortunately bad news got worse... They lost our ticket and they didn't even have it. They said that they don't do refunds in the store and that you have to reach out online or somehow call. I've reached out five different times now and have received no refund and no response on the terrible mishap that happened. That's turned in just bad customer service at this point. I witnessed a handful of other people also asking for refunds being told the same thing. Hopefully they got some sort of response. Even with the decent quality food, I don't believe I can return here after this experience going to unresolved to me being out $45 with no food or anything to show for it.

I had a mobile order for pick up, walked in and was the only person in line but no one would greet me. The woman in front packaging orders made eye contact with me while talking to the other employees and I said hello but she didn't walk over or offer to help me. Finally someone came to the counter but I had to say hello and initiate a greeting as she was in front of me but also not asking if I needed help. My order was ready and still hot so that was a plus. At almost $9 after tax I expected more out of the Double Char Burger. It was pretty dry, toppings were minimal and the tomato and lettuce were were kind of slimy. Definitely nothing like the pictures they use in advertisements. This was my first ever Double Char and I don't think I will order it again.

I repeat don't not go there if you don't have time to wait - it took 20 minutes from order to get my food. Onion rings fries and a tuna sandwich. The manager was rude as well. I asked for a bbq sauce instead of ranch for my onion rings and she said they charge for sauce I asked do the onion come with a sauce she said yes I said can you sub it for the bbq she said no - you wanna pay the 65 or not - I replied no thank you - she gave a nasty look - I said I said I've been waiting 20 minutes to get my food at least a bbq - she walked away. Don't know her name but she worked Saturday at 1p on March 1 - fire her rude arse. Promote the nice girl who took orders at that time she seemed more in charge and not unhinged

I'm going to be completely honest-- I'm creating a list of foodie birthday freebies and I signed up through the app few months ago to recieve their bday promo which is a free charburger with or without cheese when you purchase a drink . Sooo here we are-- Upon arrival, I actually tried to redeem this offer through my app as it says I could-- after a few attempts in their parking lot I gave up because it kept giving me an error screen . I decided to go inside to redeem, which was fine.. I was just being lazy lol . Walked inside and placed my order, cashier was nice and scanned my phone for the coupon-- simple enough. I also added on garlic Parmesan fries because I couldn't resist their huge promotion banner right as I walked in . The cashier gave me a buzzer and I waited about 10 minutes or so to get my order . The restaurant seemed clean, love that the cooking is done in plain sight, and the addition of grabbing your own pepperoncinis is top tier . Once I got home, I began my review: This was my first time actually having The Habit charburger with cheese and it surprisingly was so tasty ! Juicy patty, sweet caramelized onions, tomatoe, shredded lettuce, a plentiful amount of tart pickles, on a perfectly toasted bun . I really enjoyed it with the pepperoncinis . I am an In N Out girlie and I want to say this burger comes close ! 8/10 The garlic Parmesan fries looked nothing like the promo banner lol . The fries are the fries I normally prefer-- thick, yet still thin, wide and long . When I took them out of the bag, they were soggy and stuck together-- but lucky for them.. I'm the psycho that actually loves soggy fries !! The thing that bothered me was just the Parmesan shreds stuck on one side . The side garlic sauce it came with was the star of the show-- sooo garlicky, oily, herbey deliciousness . 6.5/10 .. probably would be higher if I dined in . Overall, they gained a new customer from their birthday freebie promotion . I will definitely be back and take rhe fam when I'm craving their charburger again in the future ! Sidenote-- while I was waiting for my food, the employees at the cashwrap were talking about previous customers in Spanglish ..this is unprofessional in my opinion . They didn't say anything about me, but it's just the principle-- if you really need to vent, do it behind closed doors .

Food good. Parking lot ew. Stopped by on a weeknight after running errands in the area. Parking was a challenge because the drive-thru dinner lines for Chick-Fil-A spilled towards the street :( The interior space is cozy and clean. There are convenient ordering kiosks and a front counter cashier available. For drinks, I like their tea and juice options in addition to the usual self-serve soda pop offerings. The pager lit up and buzzed when our food was ready. Hot peppers are available at the counter if you need that spicy heat. Tasty menu offerings at this Habit location. The cheeseburger is nice as well as the grilled cphicken sandwich, although the mini chicken-to-toast ratio for the price was meh this time. Fries were closer to the warmish and soggy, not hot and crispy. Mini-me was pleasantly surprised to get a cheeseburger shaped candy gummy with her kid's meal. Even though no drive-thru service, the restaurant is neat. Depending on when you go, the smallish parking lot can get crowded, except on Sundays when the neighbor businesses are closed

Double char burger is a must try! Heard the Habit beat In-N-Out in the burger game, cane to try it out, can't say which one I like both places for different reasons. This would be a go to if you like the backyard grilled style burgers, I can definitely taste the char in the patties. The green bean tempura is great too, more than I expected, light coating. Ranch is not bad, quick service. I will come back again

More then logo have changed at Habit Coke is gone, Pepsi is in and it does not go well with there burgers. The cheese has been changed to what i don't know. ( sucks) ether the fries or oil has been changed out and the sweet potatoes fry's have bubbles of something on them. I have been eating there for years and couldn't wait for them to build a restaurant near me. Now I'm done. I don't know if they changed ownership or management but they toast just like there fries. Their service is lackluster at best.

We went back to Habitat Burger, and this time we were pleasantly surprised by the experience, not just by the food but also by the service. It took way too long, unfortunately, but we were able to use our two coupons for two burgers. Moreover, the burgers with cheese were moist, and juicy, much more than last time; when they were extremely dry!!! CHEESE IS THE KEY!!! We also got fries and onion rings, with two drinks, which were completely tasty. PS My partner was going to get 3, because he thought that they were small; THEY ARE NOT SMALL!!!

I've been going here on and off for years. Sometimes they make things overly salty, sometimes they forget to give ranch..etc. But overall, they are efficient in making the meals and packaging it up. Today, I ordered through a delivery service app. It came on time and was perfectly packaged up. Sealed and we were given straws and napkins. Sadly no ranch, but maybe we mis-clicked and forgot it. I ordered their seasonal drink the Banana Wafer Shake. It was sweet and more of an artificial banana if anything. The base was probably vanilla with a banana extract or syrup (because it would have turned brown after 5 min but it was still white). And a handful of nilla wafers in the shake. Overall it was yummy, probably good for a kid. 7.8/10. Then I ordered onion rings. They packed it really neatly this time. It was a lot more than usual! So thankful. For my main dinner I had a charburger! It was yummy. I liked the addition of the grilled onions but I wish they had 2 tomato slices rather than just one. My brother had the Santa Barbara Char with French fries and it looked incredible. It was perfectly toasted and not soggy. Nothing was spilling out of the sandwich, it was all so neat. (The menu for the delivery service didn't show any malt shakes which was disappointing, hopefully it is still available in stores!)

I came here on a Thursday evening. The food I purchased was delicious. The wait time was a bit longer, but not bad. The difficulty for me was the parking. The lot is shared with the chic fil a, and the drive through line for the other line is excessive. I know this isn't the Habit's fault, but I do wish for a better system on behalf of chic fil a. This makes it difficult to find any parking, as a few spots are reserved for the bank next door. The inside of the restaurant was clean, and tables were cleared quickly by staff as soon as guests left. There are outdoor seats in a covered patio. We sat inside as it was nighttime in December. Thank you, Habit for making our dining experience wonderful. I do hope for improvement in the parking lot for the future.

I didn't have a lot of time before I had to be somewhere and Habit was right next to my bank, so went in. They had a fundraiser going on in their outside area that looked pretty crowded. I asked the ladies behind the counter if it would be long to get my order and they said 15 minutes. Was pleasantly surprised when my buzzer they handed me went off a few minutes before that. I got my order to go and left. Ate my order in the car after arriving 10 minutes later at my destination( well, I ate most of the fries along the way there) I had the grilled chicken sandwich, without lettuce and Mayo. Got teriyaki sauce on the side but didn't use it. The chicken was not a preformed patty but thinly sliced chicken and had a delicious grill taste. It was on a chibatta roll, cut in half and held with toothpicks. The roll was soft, fresh and slightly grilled inside. The cheese had melted and there was a thin slice of tomato. I really enjoyed it.The fries were okay. Could have used ketchup but they only had serve yourself and I didn't get any. Nice amount for the price. I would go again when not pressed for time as their menu had some really different choices on it. Very clean establishment.

I appreciated the ease of online ordering, and the price point was not too bad. The service out to the car was great. However, the only reason for ordering from a food place is because of the food. So I would only give this place two stars the hamburgers were not, really that great and the buns were soggy, the onion rings were cold and the food was not assembled really well, so, this will be my one and only visit to Habit Burger

Just left here with out my food went to pick up my birthday burger they offered. I had my baby niece in the car so I choose curbside, ordered at 1:35 got there at 1:45 waited till 2:05 order didn't come out and my niece was ready for her nap so I just left I don't know why it would take that long for a char burger it wasn't busy. Now chick fil a was busy but not the habit. Go here if you have time to waste.

I hate giving a one star review but this business owner needs a reset with the staff. I ordered a char burger wrapped in lettuce everything that usually comes on it to go no sides. The place had about 4 tables worth of customers. Two people cooking, one at the register. 20 minutes later still no food. Told the girl to just donate my order as I couldn't wait longer. So basically out what I paid with no food. Avoid if you are in a rush.

Food here is consistently delicious-what you expect from The Habit! Service and speed however are wanting. Curbside is a little bit of a mess, especially since the lot o shared with Chick Fil A, so people always park in the curbside parking that aren't waiting for food. Overall, food and service are worth the value! Organization could be improved upon, but other than that my orders have been correct and delicious!!

0 stars. Horrible service. Dining room is disgusting. Food is kids size for $18 !! The manager hassled me over a side of ranch and was demanding 65 cents for a tiny cup of ranch dressing. Won't be coming back , and I recommend no one does !!

I really like The Habit. You can easily customize your burger/sandwich and the tempura green beans are delicious. I like that you can order through the app, cutting down the wait time. The restaurant is always clean and there is ample seating. Overall, one of my go to's. Try them out. You'll like it.

We were just here, first timers. Very impressed! Portobello mushrooms as a burger option? Sweet potato fries? And Lettuce wraps done right. Loved my chocolate shake too. Expected same old same old, but it was rich and delicious. We joked about going back tonight for a second dinner!

Service!! Good food but they are blasting the A/C on a cold night! When asked them to turn it off since it was very cold inside. They said they 'need to keep everyone comfortable' and left it on!!! It is VERY uncomfortably cold inside - hard to enjoy the meal.

Return visit to the La Mesa Habit to see if anything improved. Full disclosure, did a review of this place a year ago and the performance was below average. Fast forward a year and the performance of this location was markedly better. The food was delicious, at the right temperature, and arrive quickly. Additionally, the restaurant appeared cleaner. Looking forwarded to making it a habit to visit this location.

Haven't gone to Habit * La Mesa in a bit and won't be back soon. Walked in and ordered food to go. When got to our vehicle noticed the receipt as we were questioning the high charges to learn that there was a five dollar tip placed on our order without our knowledge. Of course I realize this was our error...not noticing this until we left. However, to assume that we would give a tip when we are taking food to go is rather presumptuous. If I choose to tip, that should be my preference not placed on my bill without my knowledge. Won't be going back to this location again.

Service: I ordered at the counter and the gentleman that helped was very efficient and on point. Definitely manager material. Parking: the lot is tight as it is shared with chik-fil-A.

I think I have tried the habit at another location, but I don't remember the experience. I came here after another place I wanted to try was closed. The burger was good, it was a special pretzel burger. I would like to try the regular burger if I come back. I used the kiosk and got my order correctly and everything was hot and called out as soon as it was ready. Jack was very efficient from what I saw while waiting. As far as taste for people who haven't been, in my opinion, the patty is kind of dry and the French fries need more salt, but for fast food, it's really decent!

Couple of these photos don't do it justice to how bad the restruant looked today. When I walked up the counter was dirty and where the cooks were at there was plastic on the counter and they continually wiped it off with a dirty towel. And when my wife went to go get some jalapeños and banana peppers there was I'm not joking 3 jalapeños and 8 peppers.

I've yet to be served a mediocre meal from this specific restaurant. I usually order a grilled chicken ceasar salad without the ceasar dressing... as I'm addicted to their house balsamic situation. So I usually order that on the side. Occasionally I'll get a double cheeseburger. Let me tell you, despite it being a super simple salad, these folk on the line know how to make it pretty dang good. The grilled chicken is always super hot. The lettuce is never wilted or reddish brown as if it's been sitting out. It's literally the best salad I can get from a restaurant/fast food chain of similar quality. The double cheeseburgers are always juicy and extremely flavorful. The seasoning they put on the patties before the cheese is super good. Sometimes the French fries are either cold or soft... but it is what it is. Doubt they'd be makin these per order. Their service is always great for a fast-ish food place. I appreciate their attentiveness and willingness to get more condiments. I don't usually tip at fast food places, I just never have the opportunity if I'm being honest. But this entire team gets a tip every time. The only downside is that inside the restaurant in the seating area.... Each booth is right under an AC vent and the AC seems to be cranked down extra cold. So if we're eating inside, our food gets cold super quick. This kinda sucks but I guess it works to keep people from hanging around too long lol. Next time I'll just bring a hoodie.

The food is good, the service is decent. I live near this location so unfortunately I still come here, especially when Chik-fil-A is closed or too packed. I prefer the location in mission valley or on SDSU campus. They're forgetful most of the time. When there's a rush hour, they don't respond well. People's orders are messed up, given the wrong food, and they don't utilize the buzzers.

Tip: when a customer orders a lettuce wrap burger, you should dry off the lettuce first before wrapping the burger so the burger does not get water logged. My BBQ bacon char burger was very wet.

Ordered online for curbside pickup. After arriving waited 15 minutes for my food. Went inside was told they "couldn't find my car." I was parked right in front of the door. Checked my order it was wrong. Put onions on my burger when I requested no onions. Left the pickles off when there was supposed to be pickles. Ordered parmesan garlic fries but was given regular. Staff gave me attitude because I didn't want to accept the 2nd burger because it would be cold after sitting 15 mins and then waiting another 15 for the burger and fries remake. Just completely unacceptable

Ordered salads, and when I asked for extra dressing, I was told that I would have to pay for them. This is absurd. I understand charging for ranch if I ordered a burger or fries; however, I ordered a salad, and not providing additional dressing means that their salads are under dressed. I spoke to Stephanie, who identified herself as the general manager and kept repeating that sauces are extra. Enjoy your 1 star, and I won't be back...ever.

The food was great. The cashier who took my order was very sweet and helpful, it was my first time going and they answered all my questions had great customer service. They were super busy and i was very impressed how the quality of service never changed from customer to customer. Got my food pretty fast considering how busy it was and it was so good. Will definitely be comming back!

This is the best location and they prove it time and again. We were initially very excited when a new HB opened up near us in Rancho San Diego. Too bad that location always messes up something in our order. If we could get the manager from this location to go around and teach others how to be better that'd be doing your customers a solid. Thank you again La Mesa HB for another perfect order! Our family loves the way you do your burgers! And you get out order right every time!

2 Burgers and fries took over 30 minutes when there was only around 6 customers in the entire store and as many employees working at the time. I had to check in multiple times with the staff as I saw people who showed up after us received their food and orders. Once we finally received our food, the fries were old and barely warm and burgers were not up that good unfortunately. This was beyond frustrating since I have worked in fast food and restaurants for years and rarely seen orders take this long even at the busiest of times. I have eaten at other habit burgers many times over the years and had better experiences to say the least.

No char to the flavorless burger patty.. fries and onion rings were pretty good.. the burger bun was dry and falling apart.. all in all a disaster. Customer service was great. Burger quality was terrible

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I order led curbside because i have a sick 7 month old. I arrived when it said ut was ready and alerted them i was there and what vehicle i qas in. I waited ten minutes as the only car in the parking lot. I decided to call because they must be busy, I spoke to a man who told me he can't help me, i was transferred to the take out line. I plead for help saying i had a sick baby who he could hear crying in the car, and that i just needed the team to know i was outside because the app doesn't allow you to check in twice. He literally said " that's not my problem, you called the wrong line." I asked if he wanted me to go in and infect everyone with the flu and he said "yeah sounds like that's what you have to do." Furious i hung up and waited five more minutes just in case it was busy. I hauled my sick baby in, to find all the staff chatting and doing nothing. I told them i waited 15 minutes and the manager said "oh i was waiting to know what car to bring it to" I WAS THE ONLY CAR OUTSIDE USE COMMON SENSE. Everything was cold when i got home three minutes later, i will never return the service was horrific

My crew eats here often. While waiting for our order, my granddaughter looked at the receipt and asked what the item on the receipt was that said "Service Charge $4.95." No clue. No explanation. Plus, we tipped at the counter too. So, bye.
