Habit Burger & Grill

I absolutely love Habit, it is defenetly one of the best fast food chain in the US. The classic char burgers are great! I always get them and Habit never disappoints me, so in this restaurant char burgers were absolutely delicious. The beef patties were so juicy and tender. I really love the texture of the beef, is very nicely cooked. All ingredients are well balanced and I can feel that the quality is great. It tastes very fresh. Sauce is amazing. The cheese inside burger is also really good. The fries in Habit is always good but today it was a bit overfried, but the good thing it made it very crispy and I kinda liked it. What I also like about burgers is the size of them. They are not small and not very big. I always get double char and with fries it gets me full even when I was very hungry. The restaurant itself looks good inside, very clean, and I really like the vibe. The are two restrooms, and they are clean. Also, they have electronic displays with what you can order the food. I like it because you can take your time thinking what you want and also it allows you customize your order the way you want. Not every location has these screens. There is also a nice area for outdoor dining which looks great. The stuff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant has plenty of tables. I went in during dinner time and there were mane free tables. They make food pretty quickly. I waited for my order for 7-8 minutes. Overall, the restaurant is good and I will probably come back here.

I was in line to get my food and the older lady employee skipped me. It's not the first time this has happened and I won't be back.

The Ahi Tuna burger was ordered without the bun- wrapped in lettuce - I added portobello mushrooms and grilled onions to it- if you are doing the no carb diet, this was very filling and delicious. Services was great- I like this place because it’s never crowded or noisy.

The staff here is so friendly and has routinely gotten my food out quickly! The burgers are also very tasty. Especially the impossible burger.

I recently visited The Habit Burger Grill, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home.The menu offers a fantastic variety of options, and the quality of the food is top-notch. I ordered the Charburger, and it was cooked to perfection – juicy, flavorful, and with just the right amount of char on the outside. The fresh ingredients really stood out, making every bite delicious. The fries were crispy and golden, perfectly complementing the burger.One thing I particularly appreciated was the cleanliness and organization of the store. Even during peak hours, the staff was attentive, ensuring that everything was running smoothly and that customers were satisfied.The Habit Burger Grill is a must-visit for anyone looking for a great meal in a relaxed setting. I'll definitely be returning to try more from their menu!

Really good burger. One of the best Habit locations I’ve visited. I like being able to request a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. The jalapeños on the topping bar were a really good addition to my burger (not too hot). The young man working the register around 1p was actually friendly and helpful! What a refreshing change from most fast food restaurants. Unfortunately, just couldn’t read his name w/o my glasses. I would definitely return.

For Xmas I received a gift card for The Habit, so I stopped by. I noticed they have their own parking structure down the side street, as well as up on the roof, where there are stairs coming down to the street. The place still looks very new and clean. They had 3 self-ordering terminals, but since I had a gift card I couldn't use them. The lady who helped me was very nice. I had the Santa Barbara Char, mixed fries & onion rings and a chocolate shake. I think it was about $23. I was given a disk that would make noise when my order was ready. It took about 8 minutes for my order to be ready to go. The SB Char is served on sourdough bread and is very good, but it can get a bit messy. Same thing with the Grilled Chicken sandwich. The regular Charburger is kind of ordinary and while good, not something I'd order again. They gave me extra ranch dressing to go with the onion rings, which is always a plus. The shake is thick and good, but very filling. With a sandwich, side and shake you will be very full. I wanted to give them 4 1/2 stars, as the only thing really holding them down from 5 is the price. I usually go to In-N-Out or Fatburger and Habit is much better. I'd say it's up there with Burger Lounge, which is nearby but has no parking. Give this place a try when you're in the area.

Fairly disappointed in this location -- placed an order for two burgers, the only modification being "no tomato" as I have a severe tomato allergy. What comes in the BOTH burgers? Tomatoes. If you offer customization options, please honor them. Otherwise, stop offering them. And while I tried to get in touch directly with the location, you have to instead fill out a form online and wait to hear back from someone (realistically not an employee at that location but rather The Habit HQ). While they gave me vouchers, it didn't make up for the fact that I couldn't eat my lunch or even swap with my husband as a back up since they BOTH had tomato.

Chicken crispy sandwich is good 7/10 Onion rings crispy and fire 8/10 Fries super mid not amazing Oreo milkshake not for me

Great bang for your BUCK! This place is clean throughout. I was greeted immediately upon entering by a nice older woman ( blonde). She had her eyes and ears on what was going on with the Take Out orders as well as folks like me who chose to eat there. I didn't catch her name, but I wanted to praise her because I could tell she really cared about everything, the customers, the food appearance, keeping the condiment area neat and clean and more. I ordered the Portobello Char burger with a side of sweet potato fries. Where else can you get a yummy burger for under $10 and a side of sweet potato fries for less than $5! I simply love the portobello char. The Portobello Char is a huge grilled portobello mushroom with the burger, cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce with the garlic aoili sauce. Is your mouth watering yet? My friend and I found a booth by the window. This place is not fancy, but rather a place to get tasty food for a very reasonable price! Free parking, fresh clean interior space with nice seating areas for a quick bite to eat The gender neutral bathrooms were very clean! Free parking via Stanford street in the building, just north of Wilshire.

Go once: Sure Go again: Probably The burger here is a fine burger. It's exactly what I had wanted - a standard no frills burger. It isn't using special ingredients, the quality is fine. Unfortunately, I added mustard to my burger and it was just way too much mustard. That's probably my fault, I should have added the mustard and ketchup myself later. I wasn't disappointed by the burger, and I wasn't thrilled by it. Outside of the burger, their sides were good - fries were tasty, onion rings were crispy. I'd go back here if I was feeling like a burger that was going to be tasty but with really good sides.

So-so Cheeseburger and Fries. Decent eatery-- dining tables, and dim lighting Service was unfriendly . . . at least during my evening visit last week. This would have been my back-up if I don't have time to line up at In-n-Out Burger. But now, not too sure.

Service was ok. Ambiance like a burger joint in la, the burgers can be tasty but the quality is not there. Order 2 burgers and fries. Couldn't finish the fries not because there were many! One patty had small chewable bits, similar to bone fragments. So not sure why it was there. Hope they improve their burgers cause they have potential.

My family and I are big fans of The Habit. Now that my son is on summer break, we come here often, sometimes daily. My 3-year-old son loves the fries and the burgers. The employees here are excellent. They always make sure to go about and beyond for their customers. Even when it gets busy, they keep calm and know how to work under pressure. I have a lot of respect for people who work in the food industry. My favorite thing to get here is the chicken crispy sandwich with extra pickles and Mayo. I get it with the sweet potato fries on the side. Yummy! Parking- free parking lot right next door!

We had delivery. The status of deliver didn't change until 30 Min past the delivery. Food was cold outside left alone.

I hadn't had the habit in a while and it was delicious. I loved our server and the manager. They were both so very kind to my mom and I thank you

One of my favorite places to have lunch at .Recommend the Santa Barbara char.burger it's very tasty .Also the mushroom burger .We have food delivered from this place one or twice a week .

Not sure if they read the orders while preparing the food or just don't care. First bite of burger ruined by a mouthful of pickles which I asked to be removed from the burger, rest of burger had that sour pickle taste along with the burnt onions which was not very appetizing. This is not the first time this has happened at the DT Ventura Habit, I'll find other lunch options in the downtown in the future.

My go to hamburger place. The burger is literally a cut above. For the price you can't go wrong. I recommend 50/50 onion rings and tempura green beans.

I work close by and eat here at least three times a week. This may seem odd, but I'm not a big burger person. There's enough variety in salads.. Santa Barbara Cobb is definitely my go to with the Grilled Chicken Caesar a close 2nd. The Chicken Club sandwich is my favorite. The Tempura green beans with ranch dressing is my splurge. The shakes are Devine and usually my summer treat. Everything is made to order and the majority of the time, quick. Adrianne is the heartbeat of the place. She is friendly and remembers your likes and for me my don't like add ons. She remembers your name and is always welcoming. Extremely helpful when you're not sure what you want. Good recommendations.

So I went on Uber eats and noticed that they were having a buy one get one free so I said hey let's give it a try. This was last night around 7:00PM by the way. Once I got the char burger the first thing noticed was a super thin patty. Then when I bit into, it taste like pure salt. Good thing I'm not diabetic. I won't be going back to place, oh yeah almost forgot ordered the green bean fries and they were cold. Geez, waste of money.

I love that I can still find a burger for under $10. That's a big and great deal. Granted, it was a veggie burger, but that's ok. Even though I've had better veggie burgers, I was super happy to have this one which was better than the price due to the toppings. I really like the cucumbers on here and they had some nice lettuce and I like the fact that I can get the onions grilled. I threw in some onion rings, which were fine, but hit a craving. Service was friendly and on it, all and all a great experience. Ambiance was clean and lots of tables. Bathrooms in good shape too.

Good burgers sick ass commercial about a cute little sentient animated piece of charcoal briquet that jumps into the fire and sacrifices itself for your frigging burger. The commercial is offensive, not funny, and because of it we won't be back.

If anybody ever has read any of my reviews, I am always extremely honest, balanced and fair! I will only take my time to write a review on a business if things went really great or they really pissed me off. Well it's B. I'm one of those people that absolutely positively needs thousand island for my fries. I know what I am about to write is clearly not worth getting this angry about, and may sound petty, but it's really about the general principle. There was no option on DoorDash to ask for a side of thousand island or even add in special comments so I called the store. After the press one for this, two for that, etc. I finally get a human being only to find out that the call goes to a corporate office. Here's where the frustration comes in: they're not allowed to transfer you to the actual Santa Monica location! They say it's company policy. I mean what kind of burger joint will not allow you to speak to somebody in the restaurant?! The general principle of this annoyed me so much that I tried to cancel my order but wasn't able to do so. It doesn't really matter if the food is good or not when it arrives I'd already lost my appetite for them. This is a good example of how small things can turn into big things so I would encourage you to re-examine this ridiculous policy. I mean, if you can talk to someone at Ticketmaster, you should be able to talk to someone at burger joint so there's your 1 star for being so overly structured that you won't even allow someone to phone your precious store to ask for a stupid side order of dressing. You represent everything that's wrong with customer service. Hangry? Or am I really pissed off?i say both...

Food was disgusting. Came packaged a mess and falling apart, smelled and tasted worse that McDonald's quality and had no where to complain or refund. When I reported it on their site I was ghosted.

I used to like this place a lot, food was good, services. Amazing. But recently things are just gone. Downhill, places super dirty. Bathrooms are nasty. Floors are dirty. Tables are dirty. I'm guessing it's a staffing issue

Took 25 minutes to get my burger to go. The burger was cold by the time I received it because they were understaffed and it sat while the cashier continued to ring up orders instead of bagging the already made food.

Ordered on the app and was ready for pick up in 15 min. Got their special adult meal for kids price going on right now (March 20th) Burgers are yummy and so is the chicken sandwiches. Sis says the onion rings are the best!

Hamburger is still great but why are they putting so much salt on their fries it's really not necessary. They gave me a sodium attack with all that salt.

We've been to this Habit for a few times, and every time we go, we go home so happy. We like their Santa Barbara char, teriyaki char, portobello char, tempura greens and strawberry shake. They never disappoint us. Food is always hot and fresh, and service is good. I don't know why this place has only 3.5 stars. Don't forget their ranch with tempura greens or onion rings. Their ranch is sooo good. The limeade is ready tasty, and the Cesar salad is surprisingly good too. One request: please add an option to add lettuce and tomatoes in kids meal in the order kiosk so that we can order on the screen. My kids won't eat burgers without veggies, so we have to always order in person.

Love this place! Healthier than fast food and believe it or not, cheaper! I work across the street and i like to go there on my lunch. I like the double-char with cheese, protein style. The lettuce is always crisp and the meat is fresh, not frozen. I'm a creature of habit, so I have this several times a week. Even though everything is cooked to order, the wait time is minimal. The staff is friendly and attentive. For anyone that needs to hear this, the bathroom is very clean!

This location truly has the best five star employees who always go above and beyond and keep everything well stocked and clean. Adrienne is an absolute sweetheart and has such a wonderful repoir with all her regulars, I love seeing her interact. Give this woman a raise

ADRIENNE at the Santa Monica store is the nicest, most polite and friendliest employee you could ever imagine. I've been to several locations and she could be the "professor" to teach employees how to treat customers!! She's awesome! Just want to mention that JUAN is also great with the customers. He too could teach other employees how to excel in customer service! This location never fails with the finest service. STEPHAN the manager is so nice and courteous its a pleasure to come to this location!!

Yesterday night me and husband went over there and get the double char...How did it cost more than $20?? I asked the staff my order is combo right?? She said ya..But on the receipt she charged me another fries with out I ask for it...she try to scam us...please people always double check with them or any places you shop...

I ate there on a recommendation. I had eaten at their other location on National and was very displeased with the quality and the prices The Santa Monica location was busy, the prices were lower and the burger was great!

Good fast food. We used to like picking up food from here especially because of the affordability. Unfortunately prices have gone up (which is expected). One of my favorites was the Santa Barbara Char. However, the price for it went up a bit too high for us right now.

Let me start off by saying we love the Habit. In fact, in the last month we've been here a few times but the restaurant has been inconsistent with hours. Google and the app showed they were open during normal business hours but when we arrived, each time there was a printed sign stating the temporary closure, whether it be full day closure or a half day. I WANT THE HABIT but I can't keep up with your random closure and hours.

We eat at this location often. We would love to pay a special compliment to 2 people who have been consistently wonderful in every area of service . Their names are : 1. Autumn, 2. I come here every week during my lunch break and the staff is always friendly, attentive and helpful. Adrienne truly makes the experience above and beyond as she always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face. The area is spacious with lots of seating and space throughout the facility so everyone can eat comfortably. The food is always up to par - never any complaints there. Zero complaints at all! Re Update: I just want to add that every team member here is exceptional and work hard to prioritize the customer. They are patient, they are kind, they listen when you need some thing and always try to help. I've never felt so important and appreciated as a customer anywhere else!!

I love the Habit. I think their food is high-quality and consistent from location to location/state to state. If I have a choice between the Habit or almost any other place, I will choose it 100% of the time. Love it. My issue with this location is cleanliness and quality. I usually get lunch between 11-11:30 and this particular location always has 2 issues: 1- the tables are always dirty and I have to clean to sit down. 2- cold fries, 100% of the time. Constantly taking them back. The place has only been open less than an hour by the time I get there and it's pretty inexcusable to have these issues, especially right before lunch rush. Wipe the tables down and stop pre-serving fries and leaving multiple orders on a tray on the counter for convenience. Nobody wants cold fries. Otherwise, great food and experience here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had no idea that a Habit opened on the westside (and has been here for quite a while apparently) so imagine my surprise when I drove by once. There were open (free) meters right outside since it was on the later side, but I do believe there is a parking lot that is right on the same side of the street. I only had one guy in front of me, and the cashier was nice. After ordering the #1, it did take about 10 minutes or so to get but I wasn't in a rush. I noticed they were doing a lot of online orders so they were probably a little backed up. Girl who handed over the bag could have been friendlier, but maybe it was an off night. As for the food, the fries were really good but I have to be honest and say the burger was not the one I remember so fondly from The Habit. My fault was that I forgot I'm not a huge fan of shredded lettuce so I should have eliminated that, but the beef itself just wasn't what I enjoyed so much in the past. I even thought it could have been cooked a little more thoroughly when I never had this issue prior. Even my beloved A-1 sauce could not save this. I'm not going to write off The Habit here completely but judging from this visit, it doesn't have me exactly running back so soon either.

It is now been weeks since I contacted the Habit about poor experience there. Within a few days, they contacted me and said that I should wait for them to contact me and make this right. So now I've waited, weeks have gone by. Wouldn't you think a company of that size would have a dedicated employee, someone in management that could call and find out what went wrong and how they could make it better? Well, the answer is no. The Habit Burger takes weeks,if ever to get back to a customer who had a bad experience. Shame on you, Habit Burger. This may be a habit I'm gonna be breaking.

Eaten here 3x to give this place the benefit of the doubt, this will be the last for a while. Workers here are very nice but management really needs to step in with quality control. The grill is absolutely filthy you can see it from the register. Still picked up my to go order against my better judgement and sure enough got a stomach ache likely from so much disgusting oil and build up. A few locals and workers dine here because there are no other burger places in walking distance but that won't last long given all the competition within a 10 minute drive. You can't last in LA without repeat customers.

Another 5 star experience at the habit. The food is consistently great. The order ahead option is amazing. From an amazing burger to an incredibly Caesar salad habit has something for everyone. I've become used to Adrienne's wonderful service with a huge smile, but today I had excellent service from Juan. I completely messed up my online order and he was quick to fix it with a smile. I really appreciated him talking that extra step. That is why I keep coming back. Amazing food and consistently spectacular service. Thanks again, Juan!

Habit burger is one of my favorite chains. Ive been going to their restaurants since I was 14 in freshman year of highschool using my first ice cream shop paycheck. Their BBQ Bacon burgers are unparalleled by other fast food chains, and their general quality is great for the price wherever you are (the price and tax does vary slightly by city / location). This particular habit burger is good, not exceptional compared to their other restaurants especially in northern California. The pure reason its the first location to deserve a review is the continuous quality of service they always have, exemplified by Annette-- the nicest homeliest elderly white lady who remembers my order and probably 300 other customer's individual burger and customization choices. She always greets me friendly, remembering me-- and asks whether id like my usual or to try something new. She hits every mark and even remembers to ask about sauces napkins etc despite knowing I usually dont need them. Employees like her and the Habit Burgers' ability to keep them puts them far above any other fast food chain. I hope they get rid of the electronic kiosks for anything other than takeaway, they should be paying her and employees like her more.

I LOVE the Cesar salad topped with steak - it's so yummy! The best chocolate shakes too! The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is always kept very clean.

Great Location clean and run very well. I'm a regular here at least once a week. Esteban is one of the managers that does a really good job. He's very friendly and goes out of his way to please the customers. Affordable for the quality you get. Open till 10pm. Parking is street mostly. Located in Santa Monica.

Five stars for getting what you pay for here. The food is good and the price is affordable. A great location right off Wilshire, very clean inside, and family friendly. I find the burgers here excellent. I had the double char for only $4.99. Two thick burgers, fresh lettuce, chopped onion, between two quality buns. Definitely surpasses any fast food chain by far and even a few dollars cheaper. The menu has more than burgers which is great. The steak sandwiches are delicious as well, I favor the teriyaki. The ahi is pretty good too and usually seared just perfectly. Also the salads aren't that bad as well. The soda fountain is the usual at places like this. This place has two signature drinks which are pretty refreshing, cucumber and strawberry.

Food is consistent and a good value with options for everyone. The staff here is very professional and friendly. The restaurant is always clean!

I am picky about my meat. That needs to be a tshirt. But because of that, when it comes to fast food and most fast casual places, I stick to the vegetarian options. Burger Habit falls into those categories, so I opted for the veggie burger. It was not worth the calories. I am not a fan of the soy based patties, so I struggled to get through it and it made my tummy hurt afterwards. The tempura green beans, though, were a welcome, different option for a side, so it gets the second star. Not to mention, the cashier asked if i wanted cheese on it without telling me it was extra. Didn't really appreciate that, especially since the cheese was kinda rubbery. Just putting that out there, in case anyone's listening.

I have been frequenting this location for sevreal years with my kids. It is one of their favorite go to places for some quick comfort food when I don't feel like cooking! The food is yummy and they always get the order right. which is not typical in Santa Monica! Prices are very reasonable. I want to specifically mention Autumn who has helped us on several occasions. She is polite, helpful and goes above and beyond. It makes such a difference to deal with people who are nice and kind to their customers.

A couple of key points here - firstly, the food is amazing. Personally, I love chowin' down with a triple char cheeseburger, fries and an oreo milk shake and The Habit is bar none. However, what's just as good as the food, if not better, is the service. My girlfriend and I were dining at the restaurant last night and who took our order and brought our meals to the table was Juan. He was absolutely exceptional. Bright energy, smile and personality. We struggled a bit with the ketchup, as it seemed a bit empty and without saying a word, Juan showed up at the table with fresh & filled cups of ketchup. Not all heroes wear capes! The attention to detail/hospitality was indescribable, memorable and positive. We will indeed be back. (:
