How to Organize a Kitchen With Less Counter Space | Eater

"The nonprofit home-improvement resale store is recommended as a reliable source for second-hand furniture and fixtures; the writer highlights it as a place to find well-made, affordable pieces that are more sustainable than new items and less likely to end up in a landfill." - Amy Langrehr

Thomas was exceptional when coming to pick up my donations. He was professional and went above and beyond. He helped to take all items with ease.

Google
Amazing experience! Great customer Service and energy from Nate! Everyone is more than helpful, friendly, efficient and my delivery experience with the furniture and chairs were perfect to Brickell! Definitely check out this location and request for Nate, Panarothy and their team!

Habitat for Humanity is undoubtedly one of my favorite organizations starting by one of my favorite American presidents Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalyn. This store supports the work that they do in communities to help build homes for families who need a little extra extra help. The store is well appointed and has various departments and is full of attendants that are more than willing to help help you find just what you need.

Google
Over priced floral couches, broken stuff more expensive than new. This furniture was donated to you guys for free from the kindness of people’s hearts to give back to the community. This is 💯 greed.

The best 6 star ⭐️ thank you

Google
Mark is unappreciative of the community! We done items for free for a business to help others in the community and he takes that Generosity and complete craps on the same people who help employ him and his subpar staff. I would donate and shop at the other Habitat for Humanities in the area because this particular location is very unbecoming of a honest nonprofit business. Highly would not recommend.

Google
Have purchased a few things here before. It's a hit or miss , you never know what you'll find. Prices are ok. Sometimes you get a bargain other times it's cheaper to buy at a hardware store.

Anna Williams

Google
Too many items that been accumulated but no deals offered and everything is too much if there is a matching chair to go to a table they want 200 for each chair 300 for a table that was made in 1970 400 for 2 patio chairs what about the rest of it and after all these years being open they could of did better than that i would never suggest anybody to come here holding on to all that stuff people give you and you act like your Macy's take it down some God will triple your money your stuff will rot before selling it cause your heart has left and selfishness doesn't push thru good luck holding on to stuff you cant use

Megan G.

Yelp
Great finds in here. For an amazing cause. Ho weekly as the stuff is always changing we got a light fixture that was $250. Online new for only $25.

Yelp
Conveniently located on Broward Boulevard. So long as you understand you're not shopping at Bloomingdale's you may be able to score a bargain. They have a lot of furniture , used as well as new. They have a 25% off furniture promotion currently. They are open 10-6 Monday - Friday and 9-6 Saturday. The accept donations and will pick them up.

Yelp
It's like a "watercoooler conversation place that includes people from all walks of life" ... the employees are so pleasant and helpful especially the lady at the register and the guys that work on the floor. I see everyone in here old young rich, maybe trying to get by and all in between... I bought a huge table from there that is solid wood and gorgeous I always get compliments! So glad my Dad told me to check this place out!! I just bought painting supplies to paint a wall.... soooo reasonable and quality. The furniture is high quality some not as much but plenty of choices... it's a pleasant experience and a great place to find something really nice and to donate things too! I donate and buy!
google avatar

Monica A.

Yelp
I've been jumping through hoops to schedule a pick up for a bulk item that I'm trying to donate because it's in good condition, solid wood furniture. After 2 weeks of scheduling, and emails back and forth... an employee calls me out of the blue, without so much as an email notification or scheduling a call, (aka having respect for other peoples time). Just calls at whatever time feels convenient to them, to inquire about the piece, and ends up canceling my appointment. Lo and behold 15 minutes after the call I receive a text message confirming the appointment for Saturday (?) What will it be? I may just saw the donation into chunks and dispose of it accordingly. Way to go HFH BROWARD... always Broward doing it better.

Yelp
When I first heard that Habitat for Humanity had stores, I was floored. I was living in Los Angeles and the stores are where people bring things from their houses when they remodel. The old kitchen cabinets that are still in good shape, but don't go with the new kitchen, that sort of thing. When I moved to Oklahoma I found they had one as well, so I was thrilled to find there is one in Fort Lauderdale. It's pretty convenient to I-95, so it's easy to get to. And it's fairly big. They have two separate buildings; one is mostly the building material type stuff and the other is furniture. I always find some pretty cool stuff in there. And sometimes, they have things that you can't find at other stores, or that would cost a fortune at other stores. It's a fun place to stroll through when you have time. The people are nice enough and the buildings are very well stocked, so you'll probably find something you didn't even realize you needed.

Regina A.

Yelp
Lots of good stuff to look through although I haven't found anything that I need just yet. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Absolutely do not recommend this location. The only person who approached us to help us was a man with a private delivery service who wanted to give us his card. Wanting over 300 dollars for a used dining table that isn't large or great quality, is quite unbelievably insane. Our visit to this store was a waste of our time, don't waste yours.

Yelp
Habitat Re-Store is an amazing place on so many levels. It is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center. I spent over an hour just walking around looking in amazement. The many assorted household items are mind boggling. Furniture (living, dining, kitchen, bedroom, patio, etc), electrical and plumbing fixtures, appliances, doors, ceiling fans, windows and so-so-so much more. The staff is friendly and helpful and nearly all items are clearly marked with prices. A few items show signs of wear or are slightly damaged, but most available inventory is in near excellent condition. "For the price - it's worth a look". For me it's like going to a giant rummage sale LOL... Donations are taken around the side of the building. No clothing available here.

Yelp
So, I purchased a new couch yesterday and it came today. I went to go and try to make a scheduled pickup for my old couch. I stood at the counter for 10 minutes being ignored while the guy was talking on the phone to someone about his medical issues. Now I know why nobody was answering the phone. I walked out!! Faith Farm is now picking it up. The guy seen me standing there and not once acknowledged me. He turned away. He sucks!! Told the girl at the front he was ignoring so I was going elsewhere.
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
Severely over priced, I mean almost embarrassingly so. IF you are going to sell 'used' things in the name of charity price it to move... at least within this century. They had my couch here, that I purchased in 2007 brand new for $999... tagged at $599!!! I couldn't believe it & it was in TERRIBLE shape. I mean I wouldn't ask $100 for that particular couch. Everything was over priced. They had new chairs, that looked awesome, they wanted $450 PER chair. Damn kids this ain't' Ethan Allen...you need to slow your roll. I was so disappointed at this place and their prices. Price this stuff to move.... ugh what a let down

Yelp
Great place to donate housing supplies. I donated a bifold closet door. They give you a receipt for your taxes. If you are a shopper there are many items to choose from-appliances, furniture, windows, lighting, paint, cleaning supplies. There is free parking in front and back lots. Staff was helpful.

Yelp
I was so excited to finally visit a habitat for humanity re-store because I've only heard good things about it from friends in LA, but when I finally went, it was really disappointing. And this is coming from a self-proclaimed dumpster diver/curb alert head turner. There were items that were clearly broken but still priced as if it was in pristine condition. The only things that might be worthwhile looking into are the hurricane shutters. There were stacks of them when I went.

Tagliatelle C.

Yelp
I love the concept but Habitat is a bit too demanding. They tend to want new or like new. Unfortunately, that's not what I donate.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Crazy overpriced, welfare and things change and you can sell used furniture for more money than new furniture. Prices just ridiculous.

Maddy D.

Yelp
So many awesome pieces of discount furniture. Not the best quality of restoring but it gets the job done.
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
The most overpriced habitat restore I've ever been to. Every single item was listed at price you could buy NEW identical items at. Enough said. No bargains here, don't waste your time. Whoever runs this joint you need to fire your pricer or you are never going to make rent.
google avatar

Noyb M.

Yelp
It's big with a lot of donated items. It is a bit messy outside so becareful when you see parking!

Brad C.

Yelp
Don't waste your time. Woman at the front counter just pretends to be on the phone and then when she gets off pretends to sleep and ignores you when you're standing right in front of her.

Yelp
Aside from the fact that you're helping the community by shopping at these locations, there really are some Treasures to be found. We have purchased our molding for the entire house, lighting for the inside & lighting for the outside large iron pieces which easily would have run us $400 to $500 more than what we paid. The key is to go occasionally as the merchandise changes quickly. It's usually my first stop when I have some purchases to make last weekend we scored a patio set loveseat to rocking chairs for $100 in excellent condition.
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
For those of us with a thrifty mindset this place is awesome, lots of furniture and house repair type items, selection changes everyday but really good stuff. Don't expect much from the service though.
google avatar

Samantha D.

Yelp
Horribly over priced!!! A chair for $500! Nuts! Never, ever coming here again. Faith Farm is the place to shop and help a good cause. Habitat should be embarrassed. What a shame.

Yelp
Caveat emptor. Buyer beware!!! Let me preface this by saying that HFH does a lot of great work in the community. I've volunteered before, and what they do in public is well documented. HOWEVER that is where their goodwill towards the community, and the good things I have to say about HFH end. Unfortunately they are a for-profit business that doesn't care much about their customers. They don't properly inspect their electrical items - I've bought 2 items that have had MAJOR, potentially fire-inducing problems. How can you sell items like this? After the 1st problem, why on earth would I ever buy another item from here? Because they only have a THREE day return policy on all electrical items. Three days?! So if you buy on a Sat, go on a 3 day business trip like I did, you're SOL. I even had my wife try to return the item within the 3 days with a copy of the receipt (I had the orig with me out of town), since the light started overheating and smoking - nope not good enough. You need to have the ORIGINAL receipt. I had to accept a store credit and buy another defective item. No thanks. So they basically have a $200 donation from me because it's not worth $200 in exchange for my house burning down with another defective item. No thanks! I have an email out to corporate, but they can just keep the money and put it to good use by say hiring someone to properly inspect your donated items. In the meantime, I'll donate my equipment to a company who has a proper quality control process, and I won't be returning, needless to say.

Yelp
I found a Broyhill 7 Piece Bedroom Set in near perfect condition. Saw the same set earlier in the week for the original price and I left debating whether or not I wanted to spend that amount, went back over the weekend and it was marked down by $200 plus they had an extra 10% off, making it an excellent value. Some things are overpriced, but you can find some treasures if you dig.
google avatar

Lybbie R.

Yelp
So this is a resale shop of items donated to help out families that cant afford new items....welll the prices blew my mind i might as well buy it new and sell one of my kids to pay for it

Esther G.

Yelp
For a first timer I am a bit disappointed at the poor attitude upper management and "Jamal" carry . I mean great I love the dining table options however they are incomplete pieces and for the type of store it is they can do better with pricing as the items are used ,damaged or incomplete I am willing to give it a second try as it was highly recommended but I feel as if they can do a better job at making legs available for the tables or including the proper pieces for the sets which we can all see are there rather than keeping them hidden making it impossible for people to buy complete items not everyone wants an overpriced assembled table , prices can be better go back to the drawing board reread the store name " HABITAT RE-STORE "
google avatar

Meredith A.

Yelp
Great thrift store. Run by habitat for humanity. You can find all kinds of home improvement stuff both old and new. It is definitely a must see.
google avatar

Brian G.

Yelp
Way overpriced you might as well go to the hardware store and buy the things you need half price for used items and damaged items someone needs to complain about this will not shop there again

Madco D.

Yelp
I shop there for the past 8 years and they believe the recession is over because they are jacking up prices... $500 for an # used#smelly#scratched# out-dated#who-knows-if-it-will-work-well refrigerator? Really? $50 for a falling apart light fixture? I guess profit is king in any store... Not mentioning the ladies attitude...(not the volunteers) By the way, they also sell candy!!!

Mari H.

Yelp
You have got to be kidding me. The prices are outrageous for Not vintage, tacky pieces. Ugh. Go to garage sales, real thrift, vintage shops. This place is trying to sell pieces are outrageous prices and they are not antique, vintage, or even nice.

Chet H.

Yelp
Who ever prices furniture, appliances and lighting in the main store needs to be counseled on reality - HOWEVER - They had the storm shutters that I needed at a reasonable price and they were very helpful in selecting and loading. The pricing on household goods may be insane - but building materials in the north building are more reasonable. Seniors get a discount. Inventory varies so rapidly that it pays to just stop by regularly.

Ian B.

Yelp
A wonderful variety of products and a great staff. You can always find a bargain or a very nice piece of furniture at a decent price.

Leslie H.

Yelp
If you are donating, call a competitor unless your stuff is pristine. Pick up crew was less than eager to take nice items later taken by another thrift store. Waste of time.

Nichol W.

Yelp
Love this place. I find myself just wandering and dreaming of what I could build. Furniture items are a bit high priced but still ok.

B C.

Yelp
I've been shopping there for 5 yrs and prices have gotten ridiculous! You might as well buy at the Big stores & get it new cuz there's no difference in the price. Ordinary, used drawer pulls for $3 a piece, carpeting $4 a sq foot, really? That's way more than Home Depot!!! Someone doesn't know how to price, seriously too expensive for used & staff has no people skills.
