HABITUAL by Ricard Camarena

Great experience at Habitual Great Mediterranean food with a modern twist. We ordered starters and mains, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. Service was attentive, and the space is very well designed. Good value and location in central Valencia.

What a meal we had at Habitual. We loved all the dishes we had, modern and creative food with keeping the Mediterranean produce at heart. The dessert portions were huge though, delicious so we managed to finish it. The highlights were the asparagus, anchovies and the tuna tartare.

I came to this place because I hear great things about this chef. In the beginning of our experience, everything was delightful. It felt like we were well looked after without having to turn our heads once. Elizabeth gave wonderful recommendations, and the table side steak tartare was a unique experience. With that said, it seemed that as our meals came closer towards the end, it felt the same happened with the service for our table. It took more than 25 minutes just to bring a dessert menu, and to top it off, a meal we ordered never arrived…When Elizabeth finally came to our table to take dessert order, I let her know of the forgotten order, and it seemed as if she were more nonchalant about the mistake, rather than wanting to rectify the situation. Maybe it’s because the restaurant was getting busy, and she was in the weeds? Either way, I think for a restaurant coming from a Michelin star chef, you’d think that whoever is hired can handle a busy restaurant. But anyway, the food was delicious, but the service made the experience less enjoyable, especially with it being my Birthday while visiting Valencia. It was a nice gesture that they brought a complimentary cake with a candle, but it kind of felt that that only happened because it took so long for them to come take a dessset ordered, so we didn’t want one any more. But anyway…good food. Worth a try.

I got to know this restaurant through a #timeleft dinner meeting. And it was most fortunate because otherwise, I would never had gotten to taste so many dishes that were amazing, and I wouldn't have ordered on my own. We ordered from the appetizers menu, and by the end of the evening we were all completely satisfied with one choice each (2 portions) for 6 people. Then we tried two of the desserts. I can highly recommend this restaurant! The food was excellent, and the service, albeit a bit slow, was very attentive. Not overly busy on a weeknight in February either. I was surprised at how late the event went. Next time, I will have a nap!

I was not expected to have such a great food. I mean, i thought will be good considering the fact that the Chef is well known and has 2 Michelin Stars, but the food was wow! The service was great, and the ambiance very nice. Even we were with the baby everybody was nice and calm. We had the Habitual Menu for 38 euros and if I would go back, i will definitely try it again and maybe get 2 menus only for myself :))

Maybe the chef’s reputation has lifted my expectation, I didn’t find the dishes amazing. To make it clear, I don’t mean the food is not good. It just didn’t match my expectation.

Lunch to try it out. Ordered the Chicken and veggie paella. They said it was 2 people I definitely ate all the meat in veggies by myself. The rice part was ok but nothing major to comment on.

Found this wonderful restaurant by chance....saw the Michelin 2024 award outside the door, and leaped to try it!! I would recommend obtaining reservations in advance, but they seated us without reservations!! Hands down the finest dining we experienced in all of Valencia!! We went back multiple times as a result!! My favorite was the beef rib, but every time we tried new dishes....and each was delicious!! Please do yourselves a wonderful favor and make a reservation if you're in the area!! Wish we had this in the USA 🇺🇸
