"The Japanese restaurant Hachi in the Galleria offers an omakase and a stacked a la carte menu of nigiri, makimono, and cold dishes like hamachi chili. And if you’re free for Happy Hour, Hachi offers discounts on dishes like negitoro handrolls and wagyu gyoza every day from 5-6:30pm. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Gianni Greene

If you’re looking for an Japanese restaurant, Hachi is a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the perfect tone for an intimate and refined dining experience. But what truly stood out was the food—every piece of sushi was incredibly fresh, masterfully prepared, and beautifully presented. Each bite melted in our mouths, showcasing the chef’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. Our server, Allan, went above and beyond to ensure we had a flawless experience. He was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about every dish, and made excellent recommendations. His warm personality and professionalism truly enhanced our meal, making us feel both valued and well taken care of. Overall, our omakase experience was nothing short of amazing. Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or just looking for a special night out, this place delivers on every level. We’ll definitely be coming back!

After dining here twice in one month, I have to say this has easily crept up to being my #1 spot in Houston (which says a lot considering the sushi scene here is excellent). The food is high quality with unique fish regularly being brought in which allows for me to sample new ones and broaden my fish/sushi palate. The sashimi pieces are craftily dressed and garnished, ready to eat and be enjoyed. The uni pasta is a must get. And the drinks are delicious. Service is actually top notch; not only do you get top tier fine dining level service--they make it personable. They remember you and will introduce to you new things that they think you'll enjoy based on your order history. I had Alan both times and he really elevated the dining experience. The atmosphere is nice. I've dined here for lunch and both times it was fairly quiet with good music and ambience. Chef Leo checks in to make sure you're having a *great* time. Hachi is definitely a must-try restaurant if you haven't been.

Google
Absolutely delicious omakase experience at the sushi bar. Chef Leo strikes a delicate balance between traditional and modern. Thomas was our server and was fantastic, friendly and very knowledgeable about each course. The restaurant is beautifully done. The ambience is upscale, but relaxed and welcoming rather than pretentious. We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's birthday here. We will definitely be back!

Google
Excellent. Everything was top notch. We went here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The service was incredible. They hooked it up with dessert and more! I highly recommend the truffle uni pasta. Great drink list as well. Make sure to park in their covered parking or else they won’t validate.

We came here for Valentine’s Day and got their Valentine’s Omakase dinner. A regular omakase experience might be different, but our experience was underwhelming for $150/pp. Our waitress was great, but timing between dishes were extremely long. Sometimes it was 20-25 minutes before the next dish. It was a full house, but I expected better coordination for the price. Fish quality was fresh, but the dishes were not too coherent. They did use the highest grade uni, so the uni toast and nigiri were amazing. We got a bone in one of our sashimi, which shouldn’t happen in a upscale restaurant like Hachi, but the chef quickly apologized and gave us a complimentary dish. The stone for our A5 was not hot enough and barely cooked the meat. Fois gras portion was very generous. My wife specified no wasabi on her dish but they still put some on her nigiri because “it’s fresh wasabi”. We were hungry so she didn’t send it back but they should ask if we still want no wasabi if its fresh instead of assuming that we don’t know what it is. I loved the japanese melon for dessert. Overall, there are better places to experience omakase in Houston. I wouldn’t recommend.

Google
Pros. Very attentive service with great servers. Nice ambience if you're the type that likes the romantic, dark, type places. Brussel sprouts were very tasty if a bit salty, and the Aburi Hamachi and Truffle Mix were decent. Cons. I won't consider this authentic Japanese food in any way; more like bartardized to suit the American taste buds - perhaps? I've eaten Japanese food all around the world, including many times in Japan, and I have numerous Japanese who feed me real Japanese food. The reason I say this is not true Japanese is that the Japanese food in general is very clean tasting, which focuses on the quality of the ingredients and executed well. The food here seems to throw in many different extras, which made the dishes too rich and not clean tasting at all. Luckily for the very good ginger offered because it helped balance and cut through the richness of the sushi. The reason for the 2 stars is because I had diarrhoea soon after dinner. This is the second time I had it on my trip to Houston. The first time, I ate too raw fish. This time, I had the nigiri plus some sushi (makimono). While the makimono tasted good and was decent for the price, the nigiri was overpriced and not worth the quality given. It had too many competing flavours that you couldn't even taste the fish much. Perhaps the various extra flavours were to mask the poorer fish quality; and the lack of freshness might have caused my salmonella poisoning. If not for the diarrhoea, I would have added 1.5 stars, but even then, it's not a 4 or 5 star place as it's not quite Japanese food. Sorry, I hate to give a bad review, but I need to highlight this so management can pay more attention to this aspect.

My husband and I went to this beautiful new sushi restaurant tonight after waning to try something different from our usual sushi spot. We felt like we were being transported to Japan after each ordering the Omakase- a multi course meal of the Chefs finest creations of the night. I can honestly say I have never eaten such delicate, and incredibly delicious sushi in my life. This was a beautiful, immersive experience. They even surprised us with a special newlywed course at the end after we shared with the owner and our lovely server Janie, that we recently got married. The chef also came to our table to chat with us, and was so happy to share in our joy of what he had created for us. The whole evening was filled with laughter, amazing food, relaxing ambience, and conversation. Definitely a must for a fabulous date night! ❤️

In a sea of exceptional Houston sushi restaurants, Hachi was pleasantly surprising and delicious. The interior is beautiful and the fish is extremely fresh. The Chef’s choice 5 nigiri off of the happy hour menu is a must. The Otoro and Foie Gras melts in your mouth. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place and will be recommending it to every single person I see. Not only was the food and service really good, but the staff was SO NICE My friend accidentally made an ordering mistake, and they were so nice and accommodating about it I especially loved our server, huge shoutout to Jaynie!! (I hope I spelled your name right). I came here to celebrate my birthday during lunch time. They were so nice to give me a little birthday card at our table, and they served a complimentary dessert that tasted amazing. The service was top tier! Food: The sushi was fresh and really good! I got the Chef 5 Pieces Nigiri + Makimono (I ordered the salmon avocado). The subtle yet unique flavoring on the nigiri is interesting. The miso soup and house salad was also enjoyable. I am usually someone who cannot eat a lot of tempera because I tend to get sick of the oils, but the tempera was so light yet so crispy that I enjoyed it a lot. Parking: Complimentary Valet Ambiance: The atmosphere is super calming. The restaurant itself kinda has a dark atmosphere, but in a good way of course. The restaurant is decorated so nicely It is not too loud, but good enough to have a conversation. If you are hesitant, this is your sign to go! They are relatively new and deserve all the support and love from Houstonians

Yelp
Hachi is a Japanese sushi restaurant located in the Galleria area. The restaurant has complimentery valet and is located in the back of the plaza. The interior is very sleek and modern. I went during lunch time and had their lunch special at an amazing price! I got the 5 piece nigiri + makimono set, which came with miso soup, tempura, salad, 5 piece of chef's choice nigiri, and 6 pieces of a roll for the price of $24 (2/28/2025). The nigiri set came with salmon, otoro, madai, and two others that I cannot particularly remember and is subject to change each day. For the makimono, you have a list of options to choose from, and I chose the spicy tuna, which was standard and fresh. The nigiri was a bit smaller than others, but very fresh and delicious. The otoro was so buttery and melted in my mouth. The miso soup was balanced and paired well the nigiri. The tempura had 5 pieces. I had an eggplant, shitake mushroom, shishito pepper, pumpkin, and sweet potato. I also got an enagawa nigiri, which was also fresh and melted in my mouth. Service was fast and friendly, and I think this is my new go-to spot for lunch! The set was filling, and the meal was amazing and delicious for the price!

Yelp
Had a girl's night/late birthday at Hachi. We found out it's only been open for 3 months but were very happy that we found this spot! The inside is small and intimate, perfect for date nights or GNO's. Our waitress was great! She took her time in explaining the menu and giving her recs. Some of our rolls took a little longer to come out but she checked on them for us often. The food: amazing. The sushi was so fresh. Salmon, delicious. The otoro nigiri was super rich and buttery. The uni pasta I could've had another bowl. We got fruity cocktails that were dangerously refreshing and good. Will be returning for future girl's nights!

Yelp
Had another incredible time at hachi! We celebrated valentines early with a little happy hour dinner. I absolutely loved everything we ordered. They have Kinki nigiri right now (seasonal fish) and it was incredible. The Madai carpaccio was also to die for. I definitely recommend going to hachi for happy hour and then ordering a few things from their normal menu - happy hour is a bit cheaper but the plates are a smaller portion than normal. The service was great as always and they always seem ready to accept feedback - I have zero helpful feedback besides me being really satisfied with the meal. Vibes were good!!

Sean K.

Yelp
I saw this restaurant on Instagram and decided to give it a try for lunch on a Friday. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised! The ambiance is classy, service top notch, and food quite tasty. I don't remember the last time I went to a fancy sushi restaurant and left full, but this lunch special was very filling and satisfying. I got the Chef 7 pieces nigiri plus makimono and it came with miso soup, salad with delicious dressing, vegetable tempura, nigiri, and a roll (makimono). So much food and everything was great! I will definitely be coming back and will bring many friends. Note on parking: they have complimentary valet but if you're the self-parking type, then park in 5333 and they will validate your parking. Enjoy!

Kristi A.

Yelp
One of the best sushi restaurant in town! You will not be disappointed. I come here at least once a week or two.

Yelp
3.7/5 stars We stopped by on a Saturday around 8pm. They offer complimentary valet here. It was packed inside, but we were able to get a table right away with no wait. The restaurant is on the smaller side. It felt very cramped with all the tables so close together. My table for 2 was also very small. Another thing I didn't enjoy was the noise level. It was so hard for me and my boyfriend to hear each other. Service-wise, the staff was nice and checked up on us often. They were really good about clearing our plates as soon as we were done, so we had more space on our table. But it did take a pretty long time for each dish to come out. We ordered: - Wagyu skewers - Chilean sea bass tempura - Patagonian lamb chops - Hotate shioyaki - Wagyu toast Nigiri: - Kasugodai - Aka mutsu - Kinmedai - Yuki masu - Kama toro - Fuji salmon - Hamachi toro - Sake toro - Ora king salmon - Chu toro - Nama hotate - Unagi - A5 wagyu - Foie gras w/ melon All the food was pretty yummy. The fish quality was great. The nigiri were well dressed with no need for any additional soy sauce. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the Patagonian lamb chops. However, the portions were teeny tiny with steep prices. We spent over $500 with tax and tip, yet were still starving when we left. Personally, if I were to spend that much money, I would rather spend it on a different sushi restaurant. Overall I would give the food a 4/5, but the ambiance and experience wasn't the best, hence the 3.7/5 star rating.

Jenny K.

Yelp
It's not easy to find a good sushi spot that's open during lunch hours, but this restaurant near the Galleria is definitely worth considering. While the location means you'll need to plan for some traffic, the complimentary valet parking makes things more convenient. The service was excellent, and the staff was very accommodating, making it a great option even if you're dining with a baby. The restaurant is about average in size, but since it wasn't crowded during lunch hours, we got to enjoy a nice big table. The food was excellent, and I hope the quality remains consistent. My favorite dish was the shiso foie gras, a unique offering I haven't seen at other sushi restaurants. The madai truffle was another great dish, with decent sized slices of truffle, and the botan ebi was perfectly prepared. My favorite drink was the Asian cosmopolitan, I thought it was 10/10. That said, I do have a couple of minor critiques. I wish the scallop sushi portions were slightly larger, as they felt smaller compared to other places. I also tried a custom wagyu uni toast with foie gras on top, but I found it a bit too saucy, which overpowered the flavors of the wagyu and uni. Overall, this is a great spot for high-quality sushi, especially during lunch hours. It's definitely worth checking out!

Kevin H.

Yelp
The food was good and I have little to no complaints about it. It was crafted well and everything went well together. Waitstaff was attentive and checked in periodically. My biggest complaint is the wait for everything. I arrived at 6:45 pm, and didn't leave until 9:15pm. We did the omakase and sat at the bar and we felt like side characters. Our pieces came behind everybody else's and the wait was so long. The last dish was foie gras and they said to enjoy it while it's hot, it was stone cold. We waited like 30 minutes per each course. Their main focus was the middle section. It definitely could be a better experience but I left really hungry because I waited so long for each course. I would say, sit at the table and not at the counter because they were getting their dishes faster.

Thuy H.

Yelp
The restaurant has valet parking but there is a parking garage in the plaza. Valet is complimentary. The restaurant is small but is quiet and intimate which is perfect for a date night. We came for a birthday dinner with the girls and will say we may be a bit loud for the ambiance. The server and manager are very attentive to make sure we were okay. Even when we were taking photos of the food, they try to make sure we had lighting for the shot. The food is a hit or miss. I enjoy their rolls a lot but rather skip the sashimi/cold dish. If you like your sushi 'dressed' or saucy, you may like this place. The foie gras weren't torch all the way. We ordered 4 pieces and the very left piece of the place was very charred and the last piece was hardly charred, so that was pretty inconsistent. The drinks were really good. I say overall it's a good enough place to try but know what you want to order. The food was pretty pricey for the quality but given the area, I wasn't surprised.

Kristine H.

Yelp
Everything is amazing! Impeccable service. Don't sleep on the mini fish that they cut into pieces of sashimi! 100% worth it! Beautiful interior!

Grace K.

Yelp
I ordered the 5 piece nigiri and makimono lunch special which was surprisingly filling and well prepared. The miso was pretty standard. The house salad came with a tasty sesame vinaigrette. The vegetable tempura was piping hot, and came with a mushroom which I'm not used to getting with tempura. The 5 pieces of nigiri were quite varied, and the fish quality was great. Each piece had special toppings that help accentuate the flavor of the particular fish. The salmon and avocado makimono was delicious, and the rice was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The decor is quite nice and the restaurant is clean and new. I had two servers who were very attentive and knowledgeable. They offer complimentary valet, and you can also park in the 5333 parking and get your ticket validated. Do NOT park in the parking provided for PF Changs unless you're willing to pay. My diagnosis: excellent fish and wonderful service. Spectacular value for the lunch specials.

Yelp
Hachi's soft opening went amazing. We were greeted by the lovely host who guided us to the sushi bar. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. We decided to do the omakase & also ordered some a la carte menu items as well. My friend was obsessed with their lychee martini! I loved their house special old fashion as well. My favorite was their oyster, Engawa, Jalapeño Toro, jack family & the shima aji uni of course. I highly recommend doing their omakase as a first timer! It has so much variety! It'll have you wanting to order more. I highly recommend their Kamatoro & Engawa. Chef Leo-san was amazing. I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar for the maxium experience. Our server was fantastic! So was the rest of the staff members that made sure our table was clean & organized. The manager constantly checked up & asked if everything was going well. The hospitality & food was top tier! Will be coming back for more

Alexis G.

Yelp
Food was amazing. The oysters were kumamoto oysters which are my fave and the dress the had on it was outstanding. The hamachi nigiri and chu toro was also outstanding. Service was slow but it was a busy night. I will return. ...

Tracy B.

Yelp
We came across this place after seeing a friend's Instagram post. Location tucked in next to a high rise apartment with complimentary valet, right in the heart of the galleria. Ambience is cozy, warmth, dark, but a bit crowded with the tables a bit closed to one another. Unfortunately we sat right behind a group of loud alcoholic girls which made it hard to filter out their high pitched voices. Service is amazing! I cannot believe how fast, attentive, and efficient our servers are. They designated persons catering to your needs and magically cleaned up the table after we went through the dishes. Small table space but fast pick up service! We were so impressed at the level of management and service here! They're super friendly and helpful! Food: fish quality and portion are decent! Seasoning on most nigiri pieces is great and delicious. We love their chu toro, sake toro, ora king salmon, and Kapachi uni the most! I could eat several more pieces and still craving for more! Desert menu is still limited with options for either with melon or flan at this time. The flan tastes ok, I just think it's a tad too sweet with the sweet ice cream. Maybe a tart fruit sherbet can complement the sweet flan better than vanilla ice cream. I would said Hachi made it to my top lists of go to sushi places in Houston!

Carolina B.

Yelp
There are a handful of amazing sushi restaurants in this city, and Hachi has managed to hold its own! Very cool ambiance, great location, and nicely appointed. Staff is nice and professional. We came as a party of 4 and decided to forgo the omakase, which we usually do, and ordered what we felt would suit us along the way. We ended up with something like 18 "bites" or dishes, and with drinks, tax and tip, still came out to less than the price for the omakase per person, before all the add-ons. Everything was delicious and fresh. We tried pretty much every dessert, including the melon they is flown from Japan. It is something like $20-22 for that dessert, and surprisingly it tastes like a juice-injected cantaloupe. Interesting, but not worth the $. Otherwise, all other dishes were fine--especially the egg custard!

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Hachi is a brand-new sushi spot in the Galleria area, and I'm absolutely in love! They just had their soft opening this month, and I was lucky enough to win one of their giveaways. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Some of my favorite dishes included the spicy chopped scallop nigiri, nama hotate nigiri, uni pasta, madai crudo, and kinmedai nigiri. Honestly, I wouldn't change a thing about those--they were perfect! I also tried the fried shiso foie gras w/ toro dish, which was good, but I think it needed a touch of acidity/texture or something to cut the richness of both the foie gras and toro. A little brightness would make it more complex and less of a one-note dish. Similarly, the foie gras nigiri was delicious but could have used a bit of acidity or texture for balance. The brussels sprouts were just a tad too charred, giving them a slightly bitter taste, but that didn't take away anything from my overall experience. With that being said, foie gras bites are always still my favorite bites! Rice was well seasoned and the ratio of rice to fish was *chef kiss* The service was outstanding, thanks to Jannie, who was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The interior of Hachi is dim and open, giving off a business chic vibe that's perfect for a night out. Conveniently located in the Galleria area, I will definitely be back! Plus, the valet is complimentary, which is a nice touch. If you're in the mood for fresh sushi, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Vaulte K.

Yelp
Been here twice and really good each time. Definitely try the specials flown in from Japan.

Hongyu Y.

Yelp
Nigiri lunch combo was very good for the price. The otoro was very fatty and melts in your mouth. I went on a Friday for lunch and the restaurant was pretty empty.

Erica A.

Yelp
The food was so good that I want to cry typing this review. The 5 star reviews are indeed real, and not paid promo. Lol. Where else can you leave with a full stomach of the highest quality food for under $50. Happy hour is every single day from 5-6:30pm. I'm starting Q1 strong with no alcohol, so I'm sure that has to do with the reasonable bill, but regardless the food is SO SO good. Service was even better. Thank you Andre for your wonderful service. I'll be back this week. Oh and another thing! If you notice, the people without a 5 star review are the people ordering the koji fried chicken and lamb chops. If you want your money to be well spent, get sushi. Just like I would never enjoy the sushi at Drakes, I highly doubt I would enjoy lamb chops from here. No offense. all items on happy hour: total $49 Wagyu dumplings 1000/10 $12: this is A5 Japanese wagyu dumplings, btw. Every bite taste like a squirt of butter in your mouth Hamachi chili 1000/10 $6: Criminal how this was only $6. Please don't raise your prices. This was so good Brussel sprouts 10/10 $6: so these were absolutely delicious. But if you told me I can't choose something again, then I wouldn't choose the Brussels Chefs special nigiri $20: 10000000/10: I have no words for this. I'm sorry. Just get this and tell them it's because of the review from Erica. I accidentally ate two before the pic

Nhi N.

Yelp
Celebrated a friend's birthday today and the staff was so nice! From the moment you walk in, the hostess was soo friendly, to the waiters and the chef! The Chef is very passionate about his dishes! We did the 18 course Omakase. The sushi was fresh and soo delicious!

Jennie D.

Yelp
Service was good! We came as soon as they opened on a weekday so the staff was very kind and attentive. If you park in the garage, they will validate your ticket. We ordered a handful of appetizers, rolls, and nigiri. I would order the edamame, brussels sprouts, golden soft shell crab and chawanmushi again. The koji fried chicken, chili salmon makimono, and grilled corn were okay but I wouldn't order them again. As far as the nigiri, as I was eating it, I could tell it wasn't the freshest. I had an upset stomach as soon as I got home, and my suspicions were confirmed. Additionally, most high end sushi restaurants will dress nigiri adequately where no additional condiments are necessary, but the pieces here tasted bland. We had to ask for soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi. There is a lot of praise for this new restaurant and it is possible other people had fresh fish. However, I've been to some sushi places in the city multiple times and have never had issues with freshness. For this price point ($300+ for two people including tip) it was such a disappointing experience.

Mary R.

Yelp
Best sushis in Town by far ! Fresh food, great taste ! We came for my birthday and definitely will come back for sure

Maurice O.

Yelp
Nice restaurant with great service. Employees were very helpful in recommending items and the menu was simple and not overly saturated with too many options. Liked the specials with chefs choice nigiri and sashimi, was enough for a full meal. Ordered an extra roll and desert because the food looked so good.

Chad C.

Yelp
This place and the Chef Leo was amazing. We were in town for a conference and found this place and wow!!!!!! The sushi and presentation was 5 star!!!!! This place is going to be one of the best in Houston. Maybe the best in the USA. Great saki and Japanese whisky.

Jonathan L.

Yelp
This is the coolest place I've been in Vegas Chinatown. The vibes are immaculate. The food is amazing! Come here late at night for some drinks and great food! Took my friends here from out of town and they loved it. The service is top notch. Can't wait to go back.

Amy H.

Yelp
Just finished the BEST lunch at Hachi! Their lunch special was fabulous and we are so full! Service was excellent beginning the moment we walked in the door. Will be back!!

Amber S.

Yelp
Came here with a friend for happy hour (5-6:30 pm) on a Friday night. We made reservations, but since the place just opened 1-2 months ago, there were plenty of open tables at 5:30 pm. Valet parking is complimentary and accepts credit card for tip! We tried the hamachi chili ($7), masu crudo ($7), madai carpaccio ($7), tuna tataki ($9), katsu tuna makimono ($11), salmon truffle makimono ($9), yellow tail jalapeno makimono ($9), negi-toro temaki ($9), chef choice 5 nigiri ($18), kikori mule ($12), X love ($12), and chocolate martini ($12). Everything was delicious! The only ones I likely would not get again are the madai carpaccio (not my preferred type of fish), katsu tuna makimono (not a fan of warm sushi, flavor combos were not as interesting as the other rolls either), and chef choice 5 nigiri (a bit dry and bland). My favorite drink was the kikori mule, followed by the X love. I probably would not get the chocolate martini again. It was nice quality but just not my favorite flavor profile. My absolute favorites were the hamachi chili, tuna tataki, and salmon truffle makimono! The only downside of this place was that they are so new, they don't have a dessert menu yet. Otherwise, staff were super friendly, and the ambiance was great.

Adam R.

Yelp
I had a date night here and was so impressed by the quality of service and food. Our server Janie was so personable and the owner Serena even came by and spoke to us through dinner. If you've never been here make this your next sushi spot!

Haley E.

Yelp
Hachi, which opened just three months ago, has already earned its place as the premier sushi spot in Houston. From the first bite to the last, you experience a flavor profile that's unlike anything else in the city. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted, offering a unique twist on traditional Japanese cuisine that sets it apart from the competition. What's even more impressive is how the entire team at Hachi makes you feel like family. It was clear from the moment we walked in that every employee took pride in their work and was genuinely excited to share their creations with us. The owner, Serena, was incredibly warm and hospitable, while our waiter, Thomas, was courteous and attentive without ever being overbearing. The personal touches and hospitality alone elevate this dining experience. Rating? 200/10!

Amy B.

Yelp
10/10 new favorite sushi spot!! They're still in their soft opening phase, but the service was still top notch. We opted for the omakaze, and I am glad we did. We could tell that the head chef put a lot of thought into curating the menu. I've tried many different omakaze places in Houston, but I have to say that this was the first one where I enjoyed each dish. I also felt the creativity of the pairings, and the quality of ingredients are next to none! We went for our anniversary and the ambiance was amazing. They also gave us a couple of free items including their green tea shot. The menu definitely is pricey, but it is because they order top ingredients.

Leann T.

Yelp
My first time at Hachi and it was an AMAZING experience. Janie and Sierra both provided spectacular service. I could tell they were genuine whenever they spoke to us. The menu provided a variety and presentation was great. I will definitely be back for the omakase!

Ashley N.

Yelp
Everything was delicious, fresh, high quality and well presented! Each nigiri piece had a unique garnish that complimented the various cuts perfectly. The lunch special is the perfect amount of food for a great price with no compromise on quality! The service was perfect, 100% recommend! Can't wait to go back!

TY D.

Yelp
fantastic!! best sushi i've ever had anywhere! Kiwi Akami was out of this world. Waygu Gyoza amaze!

Greg H.

Yelp
I travel to Houston often and look forward to some fine dining while I'm here. I noticed this place pop up and thought I'd try it out. I can say that it was truly a "surprise and delight" experience. I came here with my work colleagues on a Wednesday evening after work and we were greeted by friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. This was their soft-opening and we were thrilled to learn the owner was here and is the head sushi chef. He personally came to our table and introduced himself and made sure we're were enjoying our meal. He even treated us to a taste of their fine sake as a special treat. On to the food review- all I can say is amazing all the way around!! I started with roasted Brussel sprouts and miso soup. Both were amazing! Followed up with Wagyu roll. Simply amazing!! Desert was also amazing. I'll be back- great staff, atmosphere and service and top-notch sushi!

Yelp
Alec was our server and he gave exceptional service. We decided to do the omakase and it did not disappoint! Every dish was full of flavor, and each piece of nigiri was dressed to impress!! Each piece of fish was super fresh and the dressings and garnishes really brought out the flavor profile of the fish. The food came out in a steady flow and the ambiance was really nice for a cute little date night. The owner was also kind enough to send out complimentary green tea shots and mochi for dessert. 10/10 experience and will definitely be back! **side note, music playlist was also BUSSIN'!!**

Yelp
Visited Hachi for the soft opening and tried the omakase, which was outstanding--truly one of the best I've ever experienced! Everyone was very attentive and Chef Leo was not only had great hospitality but also incredibly skilled. The fish was exceptionally fresh and top-notch. Our servers, Alec and Peter, went the extra mile to explain each course. Make sure to request both of them for an unforgettable experience! I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Food 10/10 Presentation 10/10 Service 10/10 My husband and I were staying nearby at the Hyatt and went here for dinner. Enjoyed a few of the items on the happy hour menu and closed our dinner out with the Chilean Sea bass. Sooo good.

Yelp
The best sushi experience my husband and I have ever had. We went here on a whim, saw the 5 star reviews but by a limited number of people and were a little bit skeptical but decided to give it a try. We are so impressed. We ordered a few things on the menu that we chose and a couple the server recommended. It was all phenomenal. The service was on par with the food. I highly recommend this restaurant. We look forward to our next visit back!

Yelp
THOMAS!!! That's all I need to say. He was our waiter for our first visit here and he absolutely killed it. Thomas was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, knew exactly what to recommend, and made our evening special! The ambiance is spectacular with low lighting and great music. The sushi is spectacular and definitely worth the price. If you haven't crossed Hachi off of your HTX sushi list....you definitely need to!

Yelp
My friend and I sat at the sushi bar and had the omakase experience which was completely worth it. Thoroughly enjoyed each course and left very full! More fish than rice on the nigiri pieces which I appreciated. Customer service from the chefs, servers, and manager (owner?) was top notch. Ambiance was simple, modern yet cozy. They've only been open for a few weeks, and I can tell they'll do very well.

Yelp
Amazing! We did Omakase and out of 18 courses, maybe 1-2 that were ok but rest were surprisingly good! Will definitely come back. Owner, Serena, extremely friendly. We were celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday and was served a special green tea Japanese whiskey shot. We enjoyed the evening very much.

Yelp
Food was fine but too pricey in comparison to other Japanese restaurants in Houston. Good ambiance.
