Hacienda Cocina y Cantina

We had dinner here tonight and loved the experience so much I wrote the review before we even left! First of all, the service in Cabo is great but Hacienda raised the bar even higher. Arnalfo & Jahir were incredible! So polite, attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious too, especially shrimp aguachille. The 4 leches cake is a MUST! And their chipotle salsa should be bottled. What a lovely restaurant.

We went to the Hacienda Cantina twice during our visit to Cabo San Lucas in December 2025 once for coffee and dessert and then for dinner on another night. When we went for coffee our experience was great. Highly HIGHLY recommend the churros. Best we've ever had. The 2nd visit for dinner was an extremely POOR experience and was only due to the waiter we had. First, he served us water as we got seated and disappeared for 10 mins without taking our order (strike 1). Then he serves me a negroni with a fly in it. I didn't realize it and had a few sips and then pointed it out to him - no apology, took my drink back and returned with a half drink. (strike 2 and 3). We asked for our check and left immediately, very very poor experience and almost spoiled our evening. The manager spoke to us on our way out and was apologetic and was very nice. The waiter though had a terrible attitude and demeanor. Likely an isolated incident with a particular waiter but we will not go back.

The service was fantastic! We ordered the chilaquiles rojos and arrachera — both were delicious. The Celosa Margarita is an absolute must-try. We were also treated to complimentary fruta roja shots, which were amazing, and the churros were the perfect sweet finish. Our server, Juvencio, was outstanding. He made sure we had everything we needed and provided excellent service throughout our meal. Highly recommend!

Amazing service! The servers were very kind and kept bringing complementary dishes to our table. The food was really well done as well. You can’t go wrong coming here.

Go! The food is tasty but what really makes it awesome is the view of the Sea of Cortez and the staff! The manager, Roberto, was pleasant and professional and my waiter, Juvenico, was very attentive. It’s part of a hotel but sooo worth it for the view and the food. It happened to be my birthday and they bought out “birthday churros” and they finished the breakfast with a popsicle… All the little extras make this a MUST GO!

Service was superb. Roberto and Juvencio took care of us well! They had great food and drink recommendations and also brought us a delightful churro dessert for our anniversary. We will be returning!

Service was absolutely amazing, the staff went out of their way to accommodate, service was very fast and food was delicious. Mauro put on a great preference making Mexican coffee and the coffee was delicious, he was very funny and entertaining. The staff are all exceptional. They also had wonderful life music, amazing ambiance and views and we even saw two firework shows at one dinner! Highly recommend!

Olaf was incredible! He went above and beyond to ensure our visit was unforgettable. Even on our second visit, he came down to check on us and make sure we had everything we needed. The views were amazing, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was the best in Cabo.

Loved the location, atmosphere and decor, friendly accommodating staff, subtle live music and amazing food. I will be back to try other items on the menu. Oh and the sauces before the meal served with corn tortillas were delicious!

Food was special and service personnel were very attentive! I totally recommend this place for a sunset happy hour, a Date night or a girls Night! You will not be disappointed!

Food, drinks, service...all top notch. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Beautiful atmosphere. Loved sitting under the gazebo overlooking the water. Blankets were available if you get chilled. Loved the music too. Not too loud to interrupt conservation but loud enough to enjoy. We took an Uber from our resort. They just dropped us off at the gate. Luckily, the guard at the gate called for a golf cart to chauffeur us to the restaurant. We were unaware how far we would need to walk.

Stop thinking about to and book your reservation. Everything was 10/10 and definitely recommend! I came hear to celebrate my birthday and felt like a total star. Gonzalo our waiter just WOW! Thank you! You made my experience incredible! Definitely will be back!!

Great location. Great service. Chips and dips, amuse bouche and the tail-biscuit were excellent. However the queso fundido was disappointing. My reference is perhaps unfair, but try balam in La Paz to understand how underwhelmed I was with Hacienda Cochina.

We've been coming here for 10+ years and while the chips/salsa, table side guacamole and queso fundido are still delicious- the rest of the menu is meh. The molcajete was removed (loss) and the prices have shot up ($30 a drink?!). The views are still incredible but the service was sub par and the food just can't keep up with the prices. There are too many other incredible options in Cabo to eat here again.

Solid four out of five. Being located behind the gates of the one hotel is a nice perk as you have an option of being whisked in one of their extended wheel base golf carts to the main area before walking down a winding staircase to the entrance of the restaurant. Service is generally attentive but missed my friend's birthday despite it being in the notes. The ambiance is quite nice when the sun is out or not, and the evening fire works are a nice touch. Overall the service is good but not incredible. The food is clean, well presented and somewhat flavorful but not pushing the envelope in terms of haute cuisine. The drinks are good but pushing $30 dollars per pop so I would expect a little more. This a good spot for a special occasion but don't except Michelin food or incredible service. That being said, I can recommend for most.

Our family has been going to Hacienda Cocina and Cantina for many years. This year I made a reservation well in advance to celebrate a family birthday. Three stars is actually generous. First of all we requested the beach and we got a table overlooking the pool - strike one. The restaurant and the view is still quite lovely. Strike two: the service was nearly non existent. Strike three: the rice on my plate had a hair in it - disgusting and that was it for me eating at the Hacienda! Most of us did not enjoy our meals! Strike three: The price was exorbitant for the level of service and the quality of food. The best part about Hacienda is the churros with dipping sauce. We will not be going back to this restaurant, so sad but there are so many great restaurants to try in Cabo!

This place is amazing! And the View is beautiful! The best restaurant we have had in Cabo. Hugo our main waiter was great! Yes there are multiple people helping Hugo that kept attending to us and their customer service was excellent as well. Definitely recommend this place if you want an amazing experience, really good food and service. To the owner.. Hugo is an asset to your restaurant, he made us feel like family at home not just another paying customer. Thank you!

Delicious breakfast and dinner experiences at this beautiful Médano beach front spot! At the south end of the poppin beach Hacienda offers upscale regional cuisine with attentive service. We LOVED their huevos rancheros and chilaquiles for breakfast. Could have it every day. The veg omelette was also perfectly prepared with the veggies perfectly chopped. For dinner the trio and mango shrimp will treat you so good and add the sopa to start for a perfect two courses. My husband is obsessed with their tres leches and had it every night we were in Cabo. I think that says it all! Have a meal here, any meal, you will not regret it.

Food quality was questionable, we ordered the Arracherra steak / skirt steak and got this horrible cut of meat, no texture, unable to eat and very overpriced. It certainly was some kind of mystery meat. Location is beautiful, great service but certainly not worth the $$$$

Great drinks and service. Preparation, ambience and view are top class. The shrimp preparation and steak for two were standouts. It's on the pricey side so value is probably 3.5 out of 5 but splurge if you can one time at this fine dining experience.

Once again this is the most beautiful place and best value for your money. We have been coming here for over seven years and the attention, warmth and quality has not diminished. We pick here over El Falleron and we have been to both several times. Ivan, Hugo and Alejandra went out of their way tonight to remind us why this is one of favorite places in Cabo. Everything about this restaurant is top notch across the board. The service was phenomenal.

The views are amazing and there isn't a single bad option of their menu. I could not stop talking about the Pulpo Cantina (octopus and shrimp sautéed with a citrus alioli, squash, cherry tomatoes, and red onion, served with paprika tortilla chips) for MONTHS - it is unbelievable! We also got the house guacamole (made to order!) and queso fundido which were fantastic. We were here for a small bachelorette celebration and the service was wildly above and beyond. At the end of the night they even surprised our table with an in-theme desert. Cannot recommend this place enough!! 12/10!

This place has beautiful ocean views with a live band playing great music on one of the most beautiful properties in that area. As for ambiance it would be very difficult to beat! All of the food was high end and amazing from the tortilla soup to the chips to the specials. My only regret was being a little bit full upon arrival because it was that damn good! For those of you who might have sticker shock you should avoid, but I gave this a 5/5 even with the price point so you know it won't disappoint.

We came here for desserts and after dinner cocktails. We were seated right away and the service was fast. We each had the carajillo, they were good but not $30 a piece good. My husband had the churros based off our Airbnb hosts recommendation. He felt they were overcooked. I had the lime pie. It was good, but nothing to rave about. Ultimately, I found it to be too expensive for what we received. Our bill was about $127 US for two desserts and two drinks. It was dark when arrived so unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy the views, but I will say the property and restaurant itself was beautiful. As a heads up, the restaurant is located in a gated community. We were asked for ID at the gate, and a driver on a golf cart gave us a ride to and from the restaurant.

Came back & it was just as good as we remembered!! Definitely a more expensive meal, but the ambiance and service is excellent. They have a list of specials that are delicious and the cocktails are memorable. The birthday surprise was hilarious and highly recommend with a big girlfriend group. Super great place to sit outside with big groups. Very accommodating & thoughtful when celebrating. Will recommend this place to everyone

Beautiful beautiful beautiful! It is absolutely breathtaking to dine while being able to listen to the ocean. I came with friends but this place would be perfect for a date night ...very romantic ambiance. I had the Molcajete and it was perfect to share. Everything was tasty. They bring out chips and salsas and the chips had a seasoning that gave them great flavor. The service was amazing Jesus was attentive and gave us great recommendations. I would definitely recommend and come back.

This place is an absolute gem!!! The best service, fresh and delicious food, with a real authentic flavor. My husband ordered the queso fundido and said it was one of the best things he'd ever eaten. Seriously. Great ambience overlooking the beach, and the servers want your experience to be special. My mouth waters for that fresh guac, made at the table

Dining at Hacienda Cocina and Cantina was an experience that beautifully combined culinary delight with breathtaking views. The restaurant's location offers an unparalleled view of the bay and the iconic Arch of Cabo, setting a spectacular backdrop for our meal. The service we received was top-notch, attentive without being intrusive, ensuring a seamless dining experience from start to finish. Although the prices were on the higher side, the quality and flavor of the food justified every penny spent. Our meal began with crispy chips sprinkled with Tajín and a variety of sauces, followed by perfectly cooked arrachera tacos. The kids were pleased with their Mac and cheese, and we capped off the meal with exquisite desserts to celebrate our birthday boy, making it a memorable feast. I highly recommend Hacienda Cocina and Cantina for either lunch or dinner if you're seeking exceptional food with a view to match.

Out door setting and view was beautiful. Great customer service. But sadly that is what you pay for. Kids had Mac and cheese, that was ok but 380 pesos, over $20, and PBnJ for the same price. I had the carne asada torta that was pretty good but not worth the 600 pesos over $35. My wife ate the Agua Chile which was the best dish out of all of them. Good flavor for about $600 pesos as well. Another plus is they have delicious margaritas! But for a hefty $35 a pop.

Order the tuna - seared/very rare. It was not the red color you expect, it was pinkish, super chewy and not fresh. It had a very weird texture to it. Sent it back. They apologized. We settled our bill and left. Nice location. Friendly servers. Worst tuna I have had at a restaurant.

Very pricey restaurant. Prepare to spend a fortune and the food is not good. My steak was disgusting. The texture was off and it was gray in color. Not an ounce of fat could be found almost like engineered meat. So gross

We went to this restaurant since we were sick of our resort food. All I have to say is 5/5 stars. The resort the restaurant is apart of is unreal. Beautiful views from the restaurant and hotel. There are firepits burning and string lights lit up which adds to the ambiance. We started off with 2 Cadillac margaritas which were delicious - expensive but delicious. Then we ordered the steak and chicken dinner for 2 which was unbelievable. The wine is expensive but as I have learned everywhere in Cabo the wine is expensive. The service is slow - but again this is typical of Mexico. Overall, this was the perfect restaurant to end our vacation!

Had our best meal of the year at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina Food was amazing. Atmosphere was wonderful with a view of the ocean and live music playing. Also love the Spanish decor of the restaurant and the hotel Meal was expensive, but I don't mind paying a lot when the food is outstanding and the service was first rate. We had Mango shrimp and Arrachera steak. And Mango margarita and Pineapple Margarita for drinks The waiter made Mexican coffee at our table. It was quite an experience as he was mixing the coffee. You could see flames from the elaborate mixing process Highly recommend for a special meal

All il say is, spend the money to dine here!! Best meal I've had in Cabo in 8 years of going there. Service was stellar and views are worth every cent.

The Chilaquiles were probably the best I have ever had. It started with really good tortilla chips, grilled chicken, green sauce, red onion, avocado. I seriously ate every bite!!! The view is incredible as well. Not cheap but totally worth it. I might go back again this morning!!

Birthday dinner with a great view and delicious tomahawk steak and cocktails. Been back with friends multiple times now. Highly recommend.

The food is okay here. I didn't think it was on par with the resort, but then again, I've had way worse. The best thing here are the chips. Everyone is still craving those chips! The view is incredible and absolutely breathtaking. The staff are all super sweet and courteous. The prices are very expensive so beware of that. Our bill for two drinks and two sandwiches was $200 USD.

Terrific ambiance, service and food!!! Came here for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. Fresh guacamole at the table, fresh lime margaritas- it the recipe for a terrific evening.

Had a birthday reservation and it was such a gorgeous restaurant to book and take pictures. We sat in the corner on the cozy couches and it did get chilly throughout dinner so they provided blankets which helped a ton. I ordered the Rosa Mexicano to drink, Kampachi Sashimi, Clam Chowder, and the Pulpo Cantina for starters. Highly recommend all of these! SO delicious. I honestly think the starters were better than the entrées. For our entrée we got the Arrachera, or skirt steak. The steak was cooked to our liking, however, tasted very plain with the sides we got and it wasn't the best presentation compared to the appetizers. Hacienda Cocina y Cantina was a great pick for my friend's birthday and we all had a great time. I wish I could see more great views in the day time during sunset but the ambience is cozy and warm at night time too.

Very pretty restaurant. I made a reservation on open table. We walked from our resort so just know that you have to tell the guard that you're there for dinner and then walk up a hill to get to the entrance of the resort. The restaurant is down a set of stairs. We were seated at the beach, and it was very romantic to hear the ocean waves crash while we chatted. We started with a special of the day, steak sashimi. It was great, I thought it would be more like a carpaccio, but it really was thinly sliced pieces of slightly cooked steak. My husband tried the octopus with potatoes which he liked. I tried the mole chicken and it was just okay. I think they could work on plating it so that it's more aesthetically pleasing. I tried their rosemary lemonade and it was amazing. The waiter suggested I have a little vodka on the side and I should have taken him up on his offer, that would have been an amazing alcoholic drink. The showstopper of the night was their churro. It was the most incredible churro I've ever had in my life. If a vanilla cake donut and a churro had a baby it would be the amazing churro that they created. It didn't even need any of the caramel sauce it was perfect. I would come back for the romantic atmosphere and the churros.

What a great find inside this gated community. Sure they start with complementary chips and dips but don't fill up! Started with Cadillac Maggie's - which didn't suck. Our server Arnold mentioned specials but our hearts were set on the Queso fundido...To start. Two of us. Who were we kidding. This incredible dish was huge! We v ordered c another round and called it good. Ok- who were we kidding. HUGE portion and called it dinner!! ...very unexpected a birthday treat churros and Carmel dip and complementary after dinner drink. Will we come back? Oh HELL yea!!

Gorgeous restaurant for a special meal. The ambiance is amazing and I wish I came before sunset to enjoy the beach view. Food: -the molcajete: this comes in a portion for two, and we enjoyed this classic dish, which had chicken, steak, cheese, sausage, and cactus to enjoy along with tortillas -pulpo cantina: went above our expectations! The sautéed octopus and veggies were simple but delicious -drinks: la santa and adelita were both refreshing and tasty Service is great, and when I accidentally made the reservation for the wrong day on Open Table the hostess very kindly fixed it without any issues. They brought us a shot of tequila/kahlua drink at the end of our meal for our anniversary. The restaurant is located in the Hacienda Beach Club & Residences, so we had to check in with a security member at the gate. After he let us in, we walked up a hill to get to the building with the restaurant, which is down a flight of stairs.

I promise this is not only 5-stars because I was in Cabo without my young kids... :-P but this place truly made our last night in Cabo so special! We were there in mid-February, and I have to say, it was too cold for me. The wind was pretty rough, and since you typically only bring a jean jacket to somewhere tropical... you're just... cold. Hacienda has an incredible patio vibe, so if you want to make the most of it, definitely dress on the warmer side in February (I also think I'm a baby with the cold, I saw others in t-shirts mostly fine..). They also have heaters next to some tables, but we sat in a booth near the outdoor bar which was nice. So what you're really probably after... the food -- Definitely 5-stars. Our favorites: Tortilla soup (they pour the soup into the bowl at the table!), Trio Pollo, Trio Mar y Tierra (and chips and guac of course... the chips.. omg). That was a LOT of food for just us, but we wanted to try a little bit of everything... and it was all fantastic. Now for drinks -- I wish we actually just sipped on some nice tequila, given it was the end of our trip and we were pretty cocktailed-out.. so I'm probably not the best judge here. I (think) I tried the Lillet margarita, and it was okay. I just don't think I loved the flavor of that one but it was a risky choice for me. My guess is they can make a mean cocktail. Customer service -- WONDERFUL. Our waiter was so attentive (but not over the top) and they even brought us a dessert at the end for our anniversary, which they insisted on. It was all top notch. Definitely try and make a res here for your time in Cabo!

Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing view of the ocean cove. I regret I enjoyed myself too much and didn't take a great amount of photos. Highly recommend for a nice meal in downtown Cabo San Lucas.

Nice restaurant located by the beach. The food was good. The mango shrimp surprisingly went well together. The servers were nice and attentive. We came here for a birthday and they were very nice to surprise us with a complimentary dessert. The pastel de cuatro leches that we ordered was very good. I recommend this if you're ordering dessert. Even though we were full, the cake was very light and we were able to finish it all.

Views are cool if you want a Cocina del Mar pseudo-knockoff but food is also very mid. Good for cute pics tho!

Sat outside by the water at night and the lighting was impeccable. We were traveling from San Jose del Cabo so we were stuck in traffic. We let the restaurant know and they took note and still saved a table for is when we got there. Love the service. There was a golf cart to take us to the restaurant so we would not have to work to far from the entrance of the resort. To start off they gave us tortilla chips with tajin which tasted so good with the salsas that were provided. We ordered the queso fundido for an appetizer which came with tortillas to enjoy its cheesy goodness. Then I had the shrimp with mango which was so delicious. I was surprised that it would not be overwhelming sweet. It was a great balance of savory and sweet. Would definitely come back!

THANK GOD! The service was incredible, and above and beyond from start to finish. My husband and I both ordered the arrechera which was DELICIOUS, and they were extremely accommodating to my gluten free needs. They felt excited to be able to help me find food I could eat. So refreshing! They had separate chips for gluten free which were super solid. Salsas were awesome too!

This place I would definitely return to! The view going down to the restaurant was stunning and breathtaking. The hotel and restaurant is very luxurious and clean, Instagram and tiktok worth for sure. The food was delicious! We ordered the queso with chorizo, steak torta, tortilla soup, and the ceviche...everything was good portions and well made! The customer service was great, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The drinks were really good as well. They made a delicious espresso Martini and Jamaica margarita

Let me just say that we got off the boat and we were exploring Cabo. Took a taxi into this restaurant. Which is gated. We had a wonderful breakfast watched the ocean in a relaxing grade a service, amazing food, coffee, but the price was very steep. For the wheat pancakes, which were beautiful and and the huevos rancheros, which were also lovely, each entrée was $35 and a cup of coffee was nine dollars each with a molasses cookie. Now we each had 2 cups of coffee. Which came to $36. It was delicious across-the-board and beyond superb service and ambience but grossly overpriced. But it's not just this restaurant. It is the entire city of Cabo. Has inflated its prices double. Cheaper to go to Hawaii than it is to go to Cabo.
