Hacienda Zorita Wine Hotel & Spa (Salamanca, Castilla y León) 3 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Celebrity guests come and go — plenty of hotels, after all, have had a pop star or a politico muss up their sheets at one time or another — but it says something about Hacienda Zorita Wine Hotel & Spa that the name they’re proudest to drop is that of Christopher Columbus, who paid a visit to this one-time monastery near Salamanca on his way to the New World just over half a millennium ago." - Tablet Hotels

Nestled in the serene countryside near Salamanca, Hacienda Zorita Wine Hotel & Spa is a masterpiece of history and luxury. Once a 14th-century Dominican monastery, this enchanting retreat hosted none other than Christopher Columbus, who sought royal support for his legendary voyage! The rooms and property exude tranquility and elegance, blending rustic charm with modern comfort. The included breakfast is a feast of fresh, locally sourced delights, and evening’s wine tasting is a nice touch. Service here is nothing short of exemplary, with attentive staff catering to every need. The plunge pools are refreshing and sufficient. A stay at Hacienda Zorita is more than an escape—it’s an immersion into history, indulgence, and the art of fine living. An unforgettable experience awaits!

This place is out of this world. If you need some rest, you will get it there, since it is nested in the vineyards, far from all the hustle. We went there for a wedding weekend, which was amazing. The people are super nice and helpful. The food is very high quality (and of course a bit pricey). The rooms have this charm of an old era with all the comfort you might need. The small plunge pools will cool you down in the warm Spanish sun. Thanks for having us.

Second time at Hacienda Zorita. We went there for a long holiday weekend. Beautiful as always. Attentive staff and very accommodating - we have a small dog but they kindly let us stay inside the dining room (nice touch for being so flexible!). The food is extremely nice, so much in fact I would not mind to eat at the property every day/night. The cabanas are very cozy, with that rural feel but still luxurious in a shabby way. My only comment? the bathrooms in the cabanas need some love and renovation (still, they are big and functional... but getting old). To sum it up, this is a wonderful place that's close enough to Madrid for a weekend escapade. It's dreamy, beautiful, historic and plush. Keep up the good work guys and make it even better!

Lovely welcome & help with baggage.|Stunning public areas and particularly amazing restaurant with river view.|Friendly & professional staff - a special shout out to Juan Carlos. |Beautiful grounds and and character buildings.|Great breakfast.||Stayed in one of the basic VILLA ROOMS which are essentially classic, one-bedroom en-suite room with a terrace. |Good lighting and effective Air Con.|Tiny safe, minibar, hairdryer.|Coffee machine but no kettle||VILLA TERRACE needs an upgrade as although the privacy is great, it’s slightly claustrophobic with the dark panelling. Decking sun beds are uncomfortable and the whole outside space needs to be redesigned…

Amazing friendly and welcoming staff and the location is great. Have dinner there, you will enjoy it. If you stay at the hotel, you can join a small wine tasting for free.

Despite the beautiful location the Hacienda Zorita is a poorly serviced hotel. The pool is open from 15/06 only and they do not reach out to guests to let them know. The cuisine is average, we had much better plates in Salamanca. I am not sure how it links to any organic production. The rooms are in need of maintenance

Lovely place to stay if you are visiting Salamanca - the staff, service and the place itself were great plus excellent breakfast. We had suite but I would recommend going for the regular cottage rooms which are very big - the problem with the suite is it is too big, on two floors, with some very low beams and old bathroom taps which were difficult to mix for a shower. We ate in the restaurant one night - very good, but on the pricey side bearing in mind what you can get in the city

Tiny room and the air conditioning did not work. The facial was great. Dinner was great. The property was great overall. The wine tasting was top notch.
