We were lucky to stumble upon this charming slice of Arizona history with its darling gift shop while exploring downtown Tempe. Something for everyone, and wonderful volunteers. The selection and prices were so good, I picked up some perfect Christmas presents in February!

My husband and I were married at Hackett House 11/11. It was important to us that the money spent went back into the community, Hackett House was the perfect local spot for this. Angie handled the rental for our event. SHE WAS AMAZING. Hackett House went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was prepared for mindfully and carried out beautifully. The Hackett House staff handled the deliveries and semantics of set up wonderfully and cares for our guests kindly. Whenever we plan a big party again we will think of Hackett House as a venue. Thank you again for everything!

The Hackett House is an incredible venue for any important occasion. Always beautiful and the staff is incredible and friendly. Angie is such an angel. I have had the honor of helping out with a benefit there for the past 4 years. We keep going back because of how great it is. I am looking forward to many more years

Angie did a heck of a job on this nonprofit holiday lift to give gala event. She was awesome! Update...11/17/22...Ms. Adams does a very spectacular job with the event at this wonderful place. Her " Eyes Like Mine" Foundation is 100% all her doing.

I am biased but this is a nice tented venue with heaters and misters, a full kitchen and bar, with a cook gift shop. They hold many culture events here to support Tempe Sister Cities and the educational programs offered. All you see working at the facility are volunteers.

Yelp
My daughter's class took a tour here and her teacher said it was one of the best field trips they have had for the year. The ladies that work or volunteer here are so nice, informative and well organized. They had various fun activities for the kids to do that were related to the different countries that are part of the sister cities program. It was a very educational experience and the activities made it easier to remember what each country is known for. In addition to tours they have a small store that sells jewelry, gift items and clothing. Details: - Built in 1888 - School tours welcome - All funds raised go towards the Tempe Sister Cities Organization - Limited number of spaces in private lot, and plenty of garage parking nearby. - Venue rental and afternoon tea also available

Yelp
A wonderful venue for everybody. We enjoyed tea and refreshments. Music from the chandler symphony and southwest dance studio performed. Fun for kids and adults (young at heart)! Beautiful decorations and fun shopping too. The volunteer crew was delightful.

Yelp
Love attending events at Hackett House. They have a cute cottage shop that changes items seasonally. They host cooking events, teas, and much more. Run by lovely volunteers and they support Tempe Sister cities youth program.

Yelp
The Hackett House is a charming historic treasure tucked between Mill/Maple and 4th/5th streets in downtown Tempe. A beautiful patio with a giant tent overhead surrounded by a beautiful garden. There's an adorable boutique with souvenirs and unique holiday and other gifts everywhere!! A great team of volunteers runs the place and they are delightful.

Yelp
This is a very nice historic venue. A tented intimate, cozy, and outside with heaters and misters if weather requires it. It has a cool stage as well.

Yelp
Recently had my wedding here, and was distressed by the one negative review someone left -- I hope that it's just a one-off, because my (now) wife and I had a wonderfully positive experience there this past weekend. The event coordinator was sweet AND responsive to our needs. The venue itself was beautiful, and we were able to decorate it ourselves to the theme we were seeking. At every turn, we were given nothing but freedom and latitude to make the experience special. I don't know if there's been a change in how they do things in the past couple years, but I wouldn't hesitate to book The Hackett House again. It was in a perfect location for our out-of-town visitors (walking distance to two very nice hotels) and lots of night life nearby for those that flew in early. Our only challenge was parking (due entirely to an event in downtown Tempe, and in no way the fault of our coordinators) but even that wasn't a dealbreaker. Our wedding was beautiful and well-received, and I profusely thank the women in charge of The Hackett House for helping us realize our vision for our special night! Thank you once again. We'll post photos on here very soon so people can see what we mean, but at night... it sparkles beautifully, and would be a great venue for anyone seeking to have a bit of historical flair to an event. Thanks again for helping us realize our dream!

Yelp
I booked this venue for my wedding recently. When I came to view the patio, Dolores was so sweet and I was so assured that I had little to worry about on that end. She genuinely cared about my special day and wanted to make it great. However, she was not the even co-ordinator, and was not the contact available when the date started getting closer. The communication within the Hackett House was extremely disappointing. I was constantly working in overdrive to get my other vendors to work around the limited schedule of the venue hours, even on the day of the wedding. I was told at more than a handful of times that they were unable to guarantee ANYTHING when it came to the shape, appearance, and staffing of the venue. My maid of honor was left on her own to figure out the sound system, pull out tables, linen, and locate a CONTACT to call someone for help. The day of, everything went as we had expected, and it worked. I wish Dolores was more involved, as Foram (the event manager) was rude and unwilling to help us figure out any concrete details ahead of time. When I had initially booked the venue, Dolores was the one I spoke to and made me excited and confident with all they had to offer and her willingness and flexibility to make it amazing. Because the actual event coordinator did not feel the same way about my special day, I was immensely more stressed, as was my wedding party, worried that nothing (which isn't really much) on their end would follow through. The day before the wedding (granted, bridezilla mode) I seriously considered trying to find any other location for the wedding, even a park, because of how worried and frustrated I had become with the lack of concern on the event management end. Bottom line: cute place, poor management- would not have chosen this venue again.

Yelp
I used the Hackett House as my wedding venue and it was a wonderful experience. The woman I worked with (Foram) was always there to help and answer my questions. The rest of the staff I encountered were all really sweet. The space is beautiful and just the right size for our wedding. It was easy to set-up times to look at the space throughout the planning process. They even let you use your own caterer. I have no complaints. Besides weddings, they do other events like birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and Christmas parties!
