The 14 Best Places To Eat Vegetarian Food In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"Hadekel 1 isn’t one of those restaurants where vegetarians will be exiled to a tiny corner of the menu. Aside from one sandwich with tuna, everything else at this small Aventura Israeli spot is vegetarian-friendly. They close around 4pm most days, so this is a good breakfast and lunch option, especially if you’re in the mood for an excellent eggplant pita sabich, a Jerusalem panini bagel, or shakshuka. All of the above are really good, plus they have pastries and coffee strong enough to make you want to go down that terrifying corkscrew slide outside the Aventura Mall." - Ryan Pfeffer, Carlos C Olaechea

Hadekel is a true gem in Aventura! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of. They were incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable, offering thoughtful recommendations that did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and authentically Israeli. You can tell they take pride in every dish they serve. On top of that, the entire restaurant was spotless, which only added to the overall great experience. If you’re looking for a high-quality kosher spot with amazing service and even better food, Hadekel is the place to go. Highly recommended!

The lunch was excellent at Hadekel. Extremely fresh and tasty. The restaurant is very clean and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend Hadekel for a family breakfast , family lunch or for a healthy quick bite. The desserts are a must try. The coffee is fresh and delicious. I would give it 10 stars.

Google
Decent food and service, but I was taken aback by how small the portion sizes are in comparison to the price. As this is an Israeli restaurant I would like to see big israeli portions as well (I wouldn't mind israeli prices too :p) We ordered the cauliflower, pita sabich and halloumi salad- which were decent, but again very small plates. Ambiance is nice, there is a spacious seating area inside as well as a smaller space outside. Service is decent. Keep in mind there is an 18% gratuity automatically added to all seated meals. I was dissapointed to see that they cannot split the payment according to what each person ordered, only evenly. We were offered 2 free pastries if we posted a Google review each. Overall, I would say it was an ok experience.

Google
My husband and I had a great experience here:) We ordered the Shuk breakfast for 2. It came with enough food for 3-4 people. I would definitely get the breakfast for one person next time. Very homey Israeli spot. The service from Bibi was great:) 10/10

Google
My go to for breakfast every time I’m in Miami. The food is delicious and service is great. The shuk for 2 (pictured) is great choice for eggs and some salads on the side.

Everything was delicious and the service was amazing and if you have a choice you should always choose Lucas to be your server. He is amazing. He knows the menu. He will never stay you in the wrong direction

The vibe of the place was awesome, the waiters are so incredibly friendly, and the food is outstanding! I got myself an avocado and it had labaneh, red onions, arugula, feta, and sumac. It was no ordinary avocado toast, and it was just incredible! I very much recommend this place!

Google
Wow wow wow We fling with my family from New York St. to this restaurant and I must say the most amazing delicious well put together food amazing service. We had a waitress by the name of Maya, who took care of us. She did an amazing job. We were 15 people, and everybody was satisfied 10 out of 10 highly recommend coming to this restaurant.

Yelp
The food is great however to charge $3 for extra pita or $3 for 2 extra slices of bread thin like a paper is redicoulse!!! make sure you don't order the sourdough bread (thin like paper) select the chalah or the pita and ask to talk to a manager if they charge you $3 for extra pita, I found it too late when I looked at my receipt on the way back home. Also don't buy ptiti & butter for kids it was only one tablespoon!

Yelp
This traditional neighborhood Israeli cafe located in North Miami near Aventura offers great food. We started with fresh orange juice $8 and coffee $4. We had the Ziva Complete $18, the Omllette Croissant $16, and Pita Sabich $16. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was great.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Food is very high quality. Everything I've tried was excellent and I've been coming here for over two years. Service is great and owners are very nice people. Love the vibe and atmosphere!!!!

Yelp
Found ourselves at this establishment for a meeting. The staff was friendly attentive and checked up on our table with the perfect amount of balance. The food was tasty and freshly made. Host ordered a plethora of options from their breakfast plate which offered a tremendous amount of fresh salads accompanied by eggs to order. We also recieved their pitas salads and appetizers. A place to return in the future

Yelp
Hadekel has the best sandwiches, hands down! We love this place for breakfast, and my husband is a big fan of their coffee - it's strong and good, just the way he likes it. The quality of their ingredients and the care they put into each dish is top-notch. We're hooked and can't recommend it enough! If you're looking for a breakfast spot that will hit the spot, look no further. Sorry no pictures i ate it too fast

Yelp
Never fails- i love their ice black coffee! my go to order is the sabich but the fish schnitzel challah is my other favorite. Its a pricey for what it is, an $18 sabich gives you a good idea of the pricing. But nonetheless i keep coming back so thats worth mentioning. Service varies but majority of the time the staff is nice and efficient.

Yelp
Super authentic Israeli style restaurant!!! Always good!! Lots of brunch items. Good kids selections. Plenty of outdoor dining.

Yelp
I've only been here twice and had the sabich and boureka sabich. The restaurant is very inviting and clean. The girl that works at the register was extremely polite. The food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely go more frequently however, Aventura traffic, construction and parking are challenging. I definitely be back!

Faye K.

Yelp
I'm not big on on writing reviews but HADEKEL deserves it! I wanted to order every dish they were bringing out! We were 6 people and ordered a lot so we could taste as much as possible. Hands down best malawach ever! Salads were amazing...the dressings! The eggs for 2 are beyond a 5 star breakfast! It is Mother's Day and was pretty busy but the staff who were being pulled in all directions were professional and attentive. I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
Hadekel is an authentic Israeli spot where the locals go! If you're looking for refreshing ice cold drinks, Israeli salad, and real good food I would come here. I got the Shuk breakfast which had a tasty spread of pickles, tahini, grape leaves (yum), crispy fresh bread, eggs, and stuff I don't know the name to haha. Limonana was refreshing af with sweet mint, rose water, and lemonade. The Ziva was a delicious fluffy puff pastry stuffed with spinach and feta. I'm definitely coming back to get the other goodies such as pita sabich with amba sauce, shakshuka... and basically everything else on the menu. I highly recommend you come here. It's also near aventura mall so you can shop and walk it off after :)
google avatar

Parry C.

Yelp
Food here is healthy, modern and delicious. I had the shak for two and the salmon shawarma tahini bowl. Both were great, and I highly recommend trying here.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was absolutely sensational. Great service and the staff is very welcoming making you feel at home. Vibe was A+. The best breakfast / brunch spot in Miami. If you're a sabich fan I highly recommend ordering it. Will definitely be trying the shakshuka which I heard great things about next time.

Rahaf ..

Yelp
Took over 2 and a half hours for an online order when I called they said there was a rush well that was a lie because they continued to take their sweet time and over 3 drivers cancelled. I cancelled my order. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE.

Yelp
This place has the best borekas and pastries I've had in soflo. Came in a few weeks ago and we wish we would've come sooner. Such a cute place in Aventura with seating inside and outside. The service was amazing, and they were super helpful and accommodating. Their choices of food is excellent and we want to go back and try them all. This time we came in just for a snack and ordered some borekas and pastries with a latte. The latte was excellent and they used great quality coffee and milk. The pastries were flaky, rich, and delicious. I loved the chocolate pastry I tried the most, as well as their peanut butter scone. The borekas we got had kashkaval cheese in it, which I haven't seen in florida! It was amazing, with the perfect texture and blend of cheese to add flavor We will be back to try more :)
google avatar

Maurice R.

Yelp
I got the shakshuka and it wasn't up to par at all, small not runny eggs and sour sauce. I heard they have really good sabich and I'll give that a try next time and update.
google avatar

Yelp
I was served by Ester excellent service, she was constantly checking on us to make sure we were ok. The Chef Cora made me a wonderful Branzino with pearl couscous & quinoa to die for.. Of course cannot forget about the coffee, always on point and never disappoints. Will definitely be back

Yelp
This place is really wonderful. It opened in November and was slammed by Covid, so now they're getting they're getting their chance to shine. They also own Foozo, and they're next door. The food is delicious. I had the quinoa salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kubaneh was spectacular. You have to order it in advance and I highly recommend you do.

Yelp
I first found out about this place from a friends Instagram, who shared pics of her burekas sandwich she had ordered from here, and I couldn't believe she had such authentic looking Israeli food in Miami! The glowing reviews from her (and from what I read online) led me to have Hadekel 1 on my list for months, and finally made the long drive from where I live a few days ago. Showed up at 8 am (google maps said it opened then, but it didn't actually open until 8:30), and found an unassuming, small bakery and cafe. Was a bit disappointed about the wait but decided to stick it out after already making it out to Aventura and I'm so glad we did! The servers were really friendly when we entered and very patient as we were trying to decide amongst all the delicious options. We ended up getting a breakfast plate (which you can customize)! For example, you can even choose the eggs to be shakshuka, so we ordered the green shakshuka (which was delish) and the bread we chose in this platter was homemade challah (I'm picky about challah, since I make a pretty great one on my own and I found it INCREDIBLE). The breakfast platter came with the traditional spread of cheeses and dips you'd get in a traditional breakfast plate in any cafe in Israel, and it felt like I was traveling back there! I had tahini masabacha for breakfast with pita which was also delish and tasted just like hummus from Israel. My brother got a pita with an egg frittata and loved it too. We all took rugelach home and LOVED them too. If you're looking for authentic Israeli baked goods and cafe items in Miami I highly recommend Hadekel 1! I will be back!

Iddo M.

Yelp
I waited over half an hour lightly for my burekas no matter how delicious the burekas, it would not cover the bitterness of waiting 30 minutes for it !! Needless to say, the burekas and other ingredients of the dish are pre-prepared

ToroMan S.

Yelp
Stay away from this place. Especially as it relates to take out orders. They ignored the take out order and then told me it would take "a long time" - refused to fulfill the order. Terrible service and even worst staff. Manager didn't even care; no apology or anything. You know what they say about Karma...
google avatar

Jaclyn G.

Yelp
I had an amazing traditional Israeli breakfast here. The food was very fresh and delicious. We ordered the breakfast platter for two and upgraded it with red and green shakshuka. I wasn't a fan of the green it was more of an Alfredo and veggie style dish but the red was incredible. Love the breads, salad, and flavors together. It's a small spot but fast service and filling. Will be back.
google avatar

Yogev M.

Yelp
Amazing environment, very fast service, I love the Israeli taste and menu. Tal the owner very nice and help us to choose! Very recommended

Chaya Z.

Yelp
Although the food was great and tasty, me and my family were displeased with the service and felt the workers were not- attentive or polite with my family and customers alike. We would appreciate if the service would be amplified resulting in a more enjoyable experience. thank you!

Allan E.

Yelp
the waitstaff was unnecessarily rude and obnoxius about menu questions. A waitress sat us on a table that was dirty and didn't clean it until Our food was coming. The food is mediocre... we asked for sauce on the side and it came with the check. to top it off, two of my friends got food poisoning from the fish. long story short, the worst part is definitely the service. The operation in general is very messy, unfocused. Food was not worth half it's price. I created a yelp account just to leave this review, not only do I not want to return to this restaurant, I am regretful of the time I had to spend inside of it. I would not take the time to write this if the staff had not been so rude, but we truly felt unwelcome and like our orders and questions were a bother. Do better.

Shlomo M.

Yelp
This place was great. I got the breakfast combo and the shakshooka was absolutely amazing. The Challah bread was perfect for all the side dishes that came with the breakfast. Cappuccino was on point. Fresh food!

Igor A.

Yelp
Wow, something as simple as a sabich and they made it amazing. Saw this on my way back home and stopped out of curiosity, name reminded me of Jerusalem. The sabich was intense, the eggplant was super flavorful and balanced the pita was fresh. The flavor was perfect. Would eat more but now I'm full. Will have to come back.

Yelp
Awesome shakshuka!! Traditional Israeli taste. Not very COVID friendly if that is a concern.

Caleb R.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant! With great service. Shakshuka and pita sabich were out of this world. The waiter, laz, was super helpful! #AskForLaz

Yelp
Omg omg if you DONT eat here you will be majorly missing out!!! I have been to every single Israeli restaurant here in miami and I can honestly say hadekel is THE BEST! Everything about the food is amazing! The flavors, how fresh the ingredients taste! And the pita is like the perfect texture! I can't get enough! The desserts are also delicious! Definitely try them out!

Alegre C.

Yelp
Really good kosher restaurant for breakfast or brunch. Great service. We ordered Morning in the Shuk for 2 and it was delicious. But I think it could be shared between 3 to 4 people depending on the level of hunger.
google avatar

Noam T.

Yelp
LOVE this place! It's kinda hidden, but the food is amazing!! This is a legit Israeli place (authentic food). I really liked the breakfast. The cappuccinos are also amazing! One of my favorite places on the planet (this, Milk Street Cafe in Boston, and Fuego Mundo in Atlanta).
google avatar

Bookman Z.

Yelp
Great food, the sabich salad is great, the Israeli breakfast is great, the service is a little slow but alright.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Israeli food you'll ever eat in the United States. Period. The sabich is to die for.

Yelp
Love it. A breathe of fresh aid compared to other Israeli restaurants. Love the lemonade.

Yelp
Wonderful authentic Israeli cafe that happen to be Kosher. Delicious treats like avocado toast, sabich burekas, Jerusalem panini, yogurt bowl and more. Austrian coffee. Cool spot

Yelp
The food is great the service is horrible don't order a delivery I am waiting an hour and a half and counting..... when ordered it said 45 minutes for delivery it still haven't been picked up after an 1:30 minutes when I am trying to contact them no one pick up the phone

Madi R.

Yelp
The great: this place has the best sabich I've ever eaten. Everything about it is perfection, including the fluffiest pita ever, delicious sauces and salads, and creamy caramelized eggplant. I can imagine the other sandwiches are delicious too, but haven't tried them. The less great: it is very, very pricey. It's priced like a high end place (think 10-12 dollars for a small slice of dessert pie) but the restaurant feels fast casual. The service fee is included, which means you have sticker shock every time you get the bill - how do two sandwiches and a drink add up to 65+?? - but the service is very slow even when there aren't a lot of customers. I would definitely go back for the sabich, and the people working there are all very nice, so it's a pleasant experience overall, if you can ignore the prices and have a lot of time to wait.

Keeks K.

Yelp
Hadekel is my go to! I'm never not in the mood for the quinoa salad and a Boureka! Everything here is fresh and amazing!!!! The flavors are unmatched! Love it here. A local gem
google avatar

Isi P.

Yelp
The best place to eat a nice israeli style breakfast. The coffee is delicious, and the people attending are increible.

Victoria A.

Yelp
My favorite spot for cappuccino in the area. The employees always look drained and exhausted and that's exactly how I feel when I'm picking up my coffee so I like the vibe :) From the food menu I tried only the croissant with tuna salad, sooo fresh and flavorful! Please update the hours on the maps as it's listed as 4 PM closing every day, and apparently Fridays you closed at 2:45
google avatar

Karan S.

Yelp

Yelp
Best breakfast lunch place in Miami .a must have ,everything on the menu is fresh and delicious.great service and atmosphere.

Austin F.

Yelp
They didn't have my online order that was entered on their app and was confirmed. They were understaffed and nasty when I came in. They seemed to be overwhelmed by the crowd of people waiting to be served. When I showed them my confirmed receipt they said they were out of a few items on my order anyway. I went home without any food.

Yelp
not very nice place and too expensive what it is. and don't buy coffee it's a RIP off
