"Newly awarded Bib Gourmand restaurant specializing in Japanese cuisine." - The MICHELIN Guide

"Popular among both tourists and local regulars, Haemok offers accessible Japanese fare. Its blue fence and inexplicably exotic edifice create a vibe that makes this spot stand out in the neighborhood. Its wood-based décor and tatami floor also add to the exotic ambiance. Haemok’s menu includes a few selections of Japanese rice bowls, sashimi, tempura, and tataki dishes. But its signature item is unarguably hitsumabushi (Nagoya-style grilled eel). Coated with umami-rich sauce, the eel features bottomless flavor and is a perfect accompaniment to the rice cooked to perfection. And just so you know, Haemok also has outposts in Seoul." - Michelin Inspector

A perfect place to enjoy delicious sashimi and other Japanese specialties. The menu is reassuringly concise. We ate the maguro-sake don (tuna and salmon) and the kaisen don (various types of fish). Both came as sets with their own side dishes and condiments. It was delicious. We supplemented this delicacy with a portion of tempura that was light and crispy. A place to return! Note: when we arrived there was plenty of room and we were allowed to sit at a regular table, but we preferred to sit at the sunken seats and that was no problem. I can imagine that you have to queue at busier times. People do take their time to eat because it is not the kind of dishes that you can eat quickly. Savor and enjoy is the way to go here.

The eel was delicious. The rice bowl with fatty tuna, regular tuna, salmon, and egg yolk was also delicious and it's worth ordering again. The miso soup was soothing and complimented the rest of the meal well

Very nice seafood restaurant, beautiful presentation of food, very nice atmosphere. I had the eel which was very nice, also some tempura which was good. Shared some other items that were ok but not great. Difficult for disabled, high step up to entrance and again to seating area

The simple menu at Haemok Haeundae did not disappoint. All the seafood was astoundingly fresh and at a great price point, we had a very generous portion of uni which was very delicious! Highly recommend!

Best Grilled Fresh Unagi and Seafood Sashimi on rice you can find. Not to be missed when you are in Busan. It's a Michelin 2024.

Very nice surprise. Waiting time for table only 15-20 minutes. But during the season I recommend to book the table in advance. Food is perfect. Strongly recommend!

I feel like this place is a bit overrated for a Michelin guide restaurant. Or maybe because I just came from Japan and had better versions of everything we ordered. We ordered a couple different kaisendon bowls, hitsumabashi, mochi tofu dessert, and sake. Total was 144,000. None of the dishes were exceptional. The eel and sashimi/sushi in Japan is so much better. But at least this is a bit cheaper. Maybe it's unfair to compare this place to Japan. The mochi tofu dessert was weird. You pour some kind of sauce over it. It's not really mochi, but like cheese and tofu. Not sweet. Overall it's still a good meal with good portions and fair pricing. Service was fine. Nice looking restaurant. No wait during dinner on a weekday

Super delicious eel rice and salmon tuna sashimi bowl topped with raw egg. We went at about 845pm so there was absolutely no queue. The downside is that last order is at 9pm so it’s a trade off! The eel was cooked to perfection.. charred but just right, and the eel was a little chewy, which had a nice bite. I preferred this version which is different from the Japanese style as it’s not as sweet. Sake was nice too! What surprised me was they started washing the kitchen and we could hear (and see) the staff scrubbing the floor, which surprised me that a Michelin star restaurant would allow diners to see it, which spoilt the atmosphere
