"Popular among both tourists and local regulars, Haemok offers accessible Japanese fare. Its blue fence and inexplicably exotic edifice create a vibe that makes this spot stand out in the neighborhood. Its wood-based décor and tatami floor also add to the exotic ambiance. Haemok’s menu includes a few selections of Japanese rice bowls, sashimi, tempura, and tataki dishes. But its signature item is unarguably hitsumabushi (Nagoya-style grilled eel). Coated with umami-rich sauce, the eel features bottomless flavor and is a perfect accompaniment to the rice cooked to perfection. And just so you know, Haemok also has outposts in Seoul." - Michelin Inspector

This place was so good I went there twice! The signature eel menu was absolutely delicious and a must try. One of the best meals I had in Busan. The eel was smokey and nicely charred. The accompanying condiments added variety to the interesting flavor profile. The second time I tried the premium kaiseki bento box. It was so good and fresh.

Seriously good - fish is super fresh and they give you instructions on how to eat it to maximise flavour. Lives up to the Michelin Bib in my opinion. There is a virtual queuing system that you sign up to when you arrive via email or Kakao. I arrived 20 minutes before opening on a Monday and was 6 in the queue. Tried coming the afternoon before at ~2pm but there were ~60 parties waiting.

Tuna+Salmon+Negitoro rice bowl (24,000won) was fresh and really good. Tuna went really went with nato. Atmosphere is also great - love the zen set-up with stones in the sand which reminded me of ryoan ji temple.

A highly recommended Michelin Bib Gourmond restaurant serving Japanese food. Despite the 2 storey building with a lot of tables, we had to wait more than 30-45mins for a table on a Friday evening. They provide a electronic queue system and provided drinks in a shaded waiting area. My seafood rice bowl was very generous and super tasty even without any sauce. Super fresh ingredients.

Exquisite foods, fresh ingredients & sophisticated taste at reasonable price. The booking system is a bit tricky for international travellers who do not have a local phone number, but it is manageable with an email confirmation translated into English, your turn will be counted down & refreshed constantly, when its showing 1st, then its your turn. Be prepared that minimum 30 minutes waiting time is expected since it is a Michelin restaurant, but its all worthy to wait. FYI, waiting line at dinner time is less than lunch time, staff does not speak English very well, but quite nice. MUST TRY IN HAEUNDEA BEACH area.

One of the best fine delicious meal i have had in Korea. Relaxing simple environment friendly staff in the centre of Haeundae surrounded by shops and eateries. We arrived at 5pm so there was no wait. Will definitely be back!

Went here today and loved it. This place is really popular so u definitely have to make an reservation. We tried to queue up right at 11:30am and were place 65, so lots of people are trying. It took quite some time until they shouted for our number. (For people with no korean phone number: I’m traveling with a Korean so she did the reservation process, I only have an internet eSIM and we noticed that without an Korean phone number you can’t make any reservation.) The restaurant has a very beautiful design inside, my guess would be, that it’s supposed to have a strong Japanese vibe. We ordered the Hitsumabush (one freshwater eel) for 39000W, the Kaiser don for 37000W and the tuna tataki for 18000W. The menu has also a very beautiful design. There are explanations on how to eat the dishes so that you have the best experience, however thoses were only in Korean. (Google translater helps) They explained the instructions to us but that was sadly also only in Korean. Anyways the food and service was great. My favorite was probably the eel and the tuna. 😋 Would definitely come back 🙌🏻 Insta: torbo_food_adventure

A perfect place to enjoy delicious sashimi and other Japanese specialties. The menu is reassuringly concise. We ate the maguro-sake don (tuna and salmon) and the kaisen don (various types of fish). Both came as sets with their own side dishes and condiments. It was delicious. We supplemented this delicacy with a portion of tempura that was light and crispy. A place to return! Note: when we arrived there was plenty of room and we were allowed to sit at a regular table, but we preferred to sit at the sunken seats and that was no problem. I can imagine that you have to queue at busier times. People do take their time to eat because it is not the kind of dishes that you can eat quickly. Savor and enjoy is the way to go here.
