Where to Eat in Kensington and Chelsea | Eater London

"The smallest of the mini-chain of espresso bars is tucked away between two shops about half way down the King’s Road. Taking its cue from Copenhagen, the handsome tiled space dispenses open-faced rye sandwiches and pastries alongside its super-strong, almost boozy-tasting cold brew. Of course, there are the excellent filter- and espresso-based beverages — right now the beans are from east London-based Dark Arts, with some very special coffees from the likes of Gardelli Coffee Roasters." - Alexander Larman

"In a neighborhood surprisingly void of specialty coffee, we appreciated Hagen Espresso Bar’s solid shot of espresso, pleasant interiors, and the convenience of popping in for a great coffee to keep moving." - Coolstuff Team

High quality coffee made by really good baristas. Coffee to go is better small seating inside only. Some pastry istems and lots of drink options to choose from.

My favourite coffee spot in Chelsea … Steven is excellent! I come here a few times a week and love it for take away / sit in

I’ve been to 3 Hagen’s in London already and each location has such a cozy interior, staff is very friendly and most importantly: the oat cappuccino’s great! As well as the vegan banana bread😉

My new favourite cafe. The place is tiny but incredibly cosy, with a hint of 1950s charm. The seats attached to the wall are a clever touch, making the space feel intimate yet welcoming. The staff were genuinely friendly and full of spirit - they really lift your mood the moment you walk in.

Super nice spot for coffee in Chelsea! Very original concept for having a bar for coffee, with very stylish interior too. Loved the coffee too, next time will try cappuccino maybe. Great staff too, liked chatting with them whilst there. Will be back!

I can’t say enough good things about Steven, the barista at Hagen. Every visit is genuinely elevated by his warm energy, attention to detail, and exceptional skill behind the bar. Whether it’s a classic cappuccino or something more adventurous, Steven crafts each drink with care—and it shows in both taste and presentation. Beyond his talent for coffee, what really stands out is his friendliness and professionalism. He remembers names, preferences, and always manages to brighten the mood, even on the busiest mornings. It’s clear he takes pride in his work and genuinely values the community that comes through the door. Steven is a big reason Hagen feels less like just a coffee shop and more like a welcoming, familiar space. If you’re lucky enough to be served by him, you’re in for a top-tier experience.

Tiny space. Nicely done. No seating, only bar stools and a counter. Nice quality coffee. Haphazard welcome. No service - you have to self collect your drinks/pastries (that’s not clear at the outset, so be warned you might end up with a cold coffee if you wait for it to be served direct to you).

Tiny but lovely coffee shop. Very friendly service and delicious flat white. I chose a cinnamon bun, which was honestly probably the best cinnamon bun I’ve ever had. No laptop policy inside, as there is limited space to sit, which makes the shop even nicer in my opinion.
