Our local farmers market is a fantastic place to find fresh, local products, and some of my favorite vendors really make it special. Blue Magnolia Bread offers incredible, fresh-baked loaves that are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—such a treat! French Delice is another standout, known for their amazing hummus and freshly made pita. The hummus is always creamy and flavorful, and the pita is soft, making it perfect for dipping or enjoying on its own. Tea Lucky also brings a unique touch with their wide selection of specialty teas, perfect for any tea lover. The farmers market itself has such a friendly, community vibe, and it’s always great to support these local businesses. Definitely worth a visit!

Glad they are open again. We bought some plums, Strawberries, yogurt and crousants. Its delicious and plums so sweet. Good thing we got there early because its very hot day. Feel sorry for the vendors.

Google
An assortment of vendors selling veggies, fruit, fresher unpasteurized eggs, bacon, candles, hummus, coffee beans, artisan breads, nuts, candies, semi-mass produced handmade trickets, michelada mix, BBQ, toys, dog treats, peanut butter, Mexican food, sandwich truck, BBQ sauces and seasonings, micro-greens, and pastries. Dogs welcome, live music and people are friendly. Located in the Kaiser Permanente parking lot on Sundays. I learned today that California requires the bloom to washed off of the eggs before sale, requiring them to be refrigerated. The tomatoes being sold here by 3 different vendors look a lot like the underripe ones available in the grocery store.

Nice farmers market with quite a few booths. Lots of variety from food to arts and crafts. Parking is a bit difficult but not too bad.

My kids love going here to get our weekly fruit. Love all the small shops. We all love the Bancon there. Can't wait to go back on Sunday.

Great selection of typical Farmers market veggies, fruits, mushrooms, crafts, and whatnots!

Yelp
I have been coming here for years. It's located in Kaiser's parking lot. It has been getting better and better over the years. The location is probably the safest in town. The place is clean. Vendors are professional and sells quality products. First, the selection of fresh fruit, vegetable, nuts, honey, flowers, bakery goods is extensive. I have never regretted a purchase here. Of course the usual farmer's market organic produce mark up. What is new now is the incredible selection of food trucks. Barbecue, tacos, pupusas, Filipino food, pizza. The food has been a big reason for a lot of people to drop in. Come by on Sundays and you will be glad you did.

Yelp
Summer is the best time for this market all the fruits and vegetables are in season. Went early today to beat the heat and so did everyone else. Lots of lines and a full parking lot.

Yelp
Much much better now except there were less fruits a veg. Stands! Definitely worth the effort to check it out and do some walking and shopping and eating!

Yelp
I have to say that I was very impressed with this Farmers Market! The market spans across three stretches in a U shape. Come hungry as there is plenty to choose from. There are a number of fresh food options, along with artisans treats and local arts and crafts. Stand-outs: I enjoyed Jun BBQ. They have authentic Chinese dim sum like shu mai and xiao long bao. So delicious! The tamale stand is also a popular hit. For $5 a tamale, it may feel steep, but they are massive. They also have great goodies like freshly made tortillas and homemade peanut butter without all the added preservatives and junk. I'd recommend getting there early, or at least avoiding coming during the last hour. Many of the vendors sell out so if you want the best choices, come early!

Yelp
Really cool farmers market and a great day to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon. There were quite a few stalls with fresh produce. We purchased dates, avocados, and purple and yellow carrots. Remember to take your own bags though. The ones that are supplied are small and flimsy. There were some good food stalls as well ranging from tamales to barbecue, along with tee shirts and caps. The lively music and performer were an added touch. Definitely stop by for some good food, fresh produce, and more.

Yelp
After going to the Hollywood Farmers market early Sunday morning, I decided to explore another farmers market outside the L.A. area. I researched farmers markets in the Bakersfield area (Kern County). One of the largest was the Haggin Oaks Farmers Market. It was rated 4.6. I decided to make the Sunday drive up there. From the Hollywood Farmers Market, it took 75 minutes to reach my destination. There was ample parking all around the market. When I walked in, there were many people there (around 9:30). The market opens at 9:00. One side was farmers, the other side was food vendors. As I turned the corner, it was almost all for vendors. Further down there were vendors selling clothing and soap and other items. The prices from the vendors were high. $4.00 per pound for stone fruits. $7.00 for 3 pounds of russet potatoes. Disappointed I didn't see more farmers. Especially farmers from the Kern County (farmers with the best grapes). DJ's rating: 2.95/5.00 Would I come back? Definitely No.

Yelp
Incredible market this weeks. I got a like 2 lbs of Chard for 5 bucks, Captain B's sour pickles are a must have for gerkin enthusiasts, and Vintage Farms Beef Jerky brought the heat.

Yelp
Visiting this neighborhood Farmers Market has quickly become my favorite weekly activity since moving to Bakersfield. Being able to find a lot of the same vendors every Sunday makes it easy to beeline straight to what I've been craving all week and fun enough to try something new at each visit. The market isn't so big that it's overwhelming, but there is a good amount of variety. The prices seem to be about the same if not a bit higher than other farmers markets I've visited in SoCal, and I love supporting local shops and the community. It's definitely a family friendly environment (folx bring their pups!). Here's what's been worth it for me (so far!): a yummy hot chili and cheese tamale ($4 each) from the Tamale stand. It tastes homemade and isn't greasy or heavy at all. The ladies at the stand have great customer service and they come to the farmers market via LA. Make sure to add the salsa verde. The most refreshing and healthy cold pressed juices ($7 each) from Vida Juicery (a vegan restaurant nearby). The green one with ginger is a must try! The pepperoni pizza ($14) from the pizza food truck is pretty good too, it's just a bit on the small side, but perfect if you are looking for a personal pie. Seasoned lightly with a nice herby doughy crust. The freshly baked French baguette ($5) was simply delicious. I brought it home and had it with some butter. Yum! Sadly, I wasn't a fan of the breakfast burrito from Martins because it wasn't prepared well. It was mostly filled with potato and it barely had any eggs or chorizo in it. There is always a line here so maybe I didn't order the right thing? Looking forward to next Sunday!

Yelp
Love this place and it has great local coffee too! Stop by 502 Coffee Company for a pick me up! Check out my buddy Matt's Bacon stand! Great honey and peanut butter; sprouts and eggs sold there!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised at how large and vibrant this farmers market is. There are a wide variety of vendors. Lots of food choices such as Asian, BBQ, Mexican, Greek, Crepes just to name a few. Josie's Micheladas Bloody Mary's centrally located for an adult libation. The fresh vegetable venders produce is amazing. There are of course a few clothing, plant & service vendors. One of my favorites is the face painting booth. Bring your kids this is a very Family friendly event. Every Sunday located in the parking lot of the Kaiser building on Ming Ave.

Yelp
I love the Haggin Oaks Farmers market full of local vendors with delicious sweets and eats as well as other locally made items. It's a good spot to spend the first part of your morning getting some coffee and delicious breakfast and browsing around. It's Fairly small located in a parking lot right across the street from the market place with plenty of parking . Definitely pick up a breakfast burrito from Martins meats and a coffee from Five 0 Two cafe stand. There's a spot with PHO and Egg rolls on the Southwest corner of the parking lot that smelled amazing that I'm going to have to try next time . Only thing I wish is that it was a bit bigger and there was a few more vendors but overall it's still a great place to spend your Sunday morning at.

Koko V.

Yelp
Lots of local businesses. All the vendors were very kind, friendly, and informative. It was raining when I went and they had a lot of umbrellas lining the lot to keep out of the rain. Not too busy at all. Didn't try any of the food available but it did all smell good LOL

Yelp
Love this farmers market. Great food and vibes! Not lots of fruits and veggies but good food and specialty things like homemade nut butters and specialty bacons

A C.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Nothing but stalls of trinkets and junk not worth buying. Few food stalls that's about it. All the original farmer's market stalls they had that were worth visiting are gone. These are now akin to those side walk street vendor type deals you see In third world countries. Meh. It was a waste of time.

Yelp
So as you can tell I'm a fan of the Haggin Oaks Farmers Market. They have great breakfast burrito's, tamales, pizza, aguas frescas, coffee, pastries and much more. If your in the area I'd recommend showing the local vendors some love and try the delicious eats that are available at the Farmers Market.

Yelp
Update I have been here every weekend this month. My favorite stands Batch of rye beef jerky-5$ a bag. Way better deal than the cheap jerky you get at Walmart. This is the real deal! Stand that sells goat based yogurts. Their fig is awesome! They also sell a dill Greek yogurt which goes great on chicken meal preps with some chili paste. 3 for 20$ Salsa stand - hot salsa and 08'er sauce are dope on chicken tacos! 2 for 12$ Martins meats-good food! Avoid the artisan bread shop. They look beautiful but are just ok. Tamale stand - huge tamales but they are just pretty bland. Sunday's are usually reserved for long runs and meal preps , so It had been a while since we had been able to make it. It's small but has plenty to offer from a variety of vendors. Fresh fruits and vegetables, artisan bread, nut butters etc. Most of the vendors even have free samples in the front. Everything I sampled I ended up buying, it was too delicious to pass up. The coconut cashew butter is amazing! So is the freaking hot beef jerky. Has just enough of a kick while still letting you enjoy the snack without feeling like tour mouth is on fire. We even found a protein cookie dough. The vendor said it was 30 grams of protein! I ended up having lunch at Martins meats. I asked the cashier to give me whatever their best meats were in a taco. I ended up with chicken, pulled pork and tri tip. The tacos were good. I asked for the hot salsa and it gave it a good flavor. Defiantly loved the pulled pork and makes me want to just drench it in bbq sauce. The only downside was the wait time for the food so I suggest ordering food first , making your rounds and then coming back in about 20 min to pick up y order.

Yelp
I have been going to the Haggin Oaks Farmers Market for quite some time now and lately we have been visiting more frequently as I had forgotten the amazing and delicious products at the Farmer's Market. Right now, my favorite thing to get is the Strawberry Horchata from Granville Farm and the cream cheese puff pastry from the fresh baked pastry booth. I've been going practically every weekend to get my fix on both of those items lately. I've had a chance to get items from Martin's meats and I've been a fan since the first time I tried their food at one of my son's school functions. I think they serve deliciously smoked/BBQ meats. I've never bought uncooked items to cook at home, but what they serve out of the Farmer's Market has been delicious. I wasn't a big fan of the fresh baked Italian pizza they serve there because the tomato sauce they put on the pizza tasted like canned tomato sauce. I loved the texture and what they are trying to do, just wasn't a fan of the tomato sauce. I can't forget Poke Express! My love for Poke and wanting to try every Poke spot in Bakersfield mostly started w them. I had tried Poke beforehand, but I never had so many options on toppings and different concoctions til here. I was also amazed that Rio Açaí still comes out and has a booth. They are definitely the best tasting açaí in Bakersfield. If you're not out there for food, like any other Farmer's Market, they sell tons of organic fruits and vegetables and there's a lot of new businesses introducing "vegan" options. I thought that's an awesome thing since I know several people that are vegans and several that are vegetarians also. The Farmer's Market stays busy pretty much the whole day, but it's never too packed and there's always tons of parking. You should definitely check it out and see what it's all about.

Yelp
As someone new to town I've gone to this farmers market every single weekend I've been able too in the last 3 months and love it every time.

Gregory N.

Yelp
This so called farmers market has just become a place for food trucks, arts and craft, video games, and a whole bunch of other crap. There were two produce stands and they hardly had anything. Used to be great before Covid, but there aren't any local produce vendors there now. If I were Kaiser, I'd tell them to find a new place.

Yelp
I love coming here! We have the best local business peeps here doing their best to give us the best! I'm always down to pick up a new essential oil for my diffuser by Soapterra. Most recently i purchased gorilla's breath and fresh. I have to say, my home smells like a relaxing spa. Definitely stop by and see Gabriella. She makes everything herself and has amazing products! Also love to pick up the almond butter w coffee from the Hens Roost! So good in a morning protein shake! Seriously Yummy! Also picked up some fresh produce! A must stop by on the weekends.

Yelp
Not a very good market. Lots of flea market type booths with people selling toys and things that you don't find at real certified markets. Plus when the market manager is selling nut butters they don't actually grow is a red flag. Not sure if this market would be allowed in other counties. Day I went there were 5 actual farmers and like 40 food/Flea market style booths

Yelp
I love strolling through a farmers market with my family on a breezy morning and sampling everything this city has to offer in terms of fresh produce and other food items! This farmers market has a little bit of everything! As you scroll through past reviews, and when you walk the market, you'll quickly find some obvious favorites like the yogurt guys and the hummus guys! They give sample after sample and everything they offer is delicious! I find myself always buying hummus!! They get me every time! They have sooo many flavors of hummus and toppings and pita chips, their booth is certainly worth a stop! Same with the yogurt guys! The produce, though! So fresh and tasty and most of them are organic (they'll tell you if so)! Most places offer samples as well and you can see just how sweet our home-grown fruits are! Veggies of every variety and in every color too! Prices are pretty competitive with each other but still a little pricier than the grocery store. That isn't a problem for me though. It's worth it to support local businesses over big chains! My favorite part?? Guess!! The FOOD! I love having either a breakfast burrito or a chicken plate, even tamales! Maybe Acai or poke is more your taste? Yup, they have that too! Hawaiian bowl? Check! So many options, even including fresh juices are available here! This farmers market is the perfect start to a Sunday morning! Walk around, have some samples, and enjoy a quick, delicious meal! You're bound to run into someone you know and make friends with some of the vendors! Just what community is about! :)

Yelp
You will definitely need to take some time out to meander through the market - enjoy that Sunday funday of excitement and happiness wafting through the air. Here, you will find so many items ranging from bread, to fresh fruits and organic vegetables to BBQs, to crafts like the dream catcher, clothing, and yummy juices. This farmer's market reminds me of the one that they host on Thursdays at Pasadena- it's a family and pet friendly event that you probably want to spend 1+ hour. Trust, the BBQ is worth your visit! The tri-rip was seasoned to perfection, with the meat juicy and moist. The juice booth has an assortment of juices ranging from blueberry hibiscus to cherry watermelon. My lo ordered the orange mango, and I ordered he blueberry hibiscus, both were a bit too sweet for me. However, I absolutely loved the berry booth! the blueberries- oh-em-GEE! The sweetness of the blueberries almost have a mint-like quality that bursts into your mouth that is so refreshing! We enjoyed shopping here and hope you will too! Shop, enjoy, and support local artisanship!

Yelp
Given that we can grow just about anything in Bakersfield, I was surprised how long it took to get a decent farmers market here. Haggin Oaks Farmers Market is my favorite place to get breakfast on Sundays. The $5 breakfast burrito from Martin's Meats is unbeatable in terms of value and freshness. Their green salsa is awesome too. I still need to try the quesadilla, but I can't seem to quit the burrito. Rio Açai Bowls is here too and for some inexplicable reason tastes better than at their brick and mortar. Also, the crepe place is supposed to be quite good too, but they ran out of propane or something the last time I went (major farmers market faux pas). In terms of fruits and veggies, vendors from throughout SoCal, the Central Coast, and the Central Valley offer a wide selection. Most recently, I bought some stellar cherries grown up the 99. And my mom likes the pastries from the L.A. based patisserie. As with all farmers markets, buying seasonal is the name of the game. Being summer, I'll be going here for nectarines and blueberries in the coming weeks. But the foodie in me comes here mainly for the breakfast, juices, and desserts.

Yelp
Awesome vendors, great products! Whether looking for produce or shopping, lots to choose from. Fun to visit and always run into someone you know.

Yelp
Martins Meats breakfast burritos. Yelpers, go to the Farmers Market and get yourself one or two of these awesome burritos. Very affordable and delicious. I've been encouraged recently to see more business start to set up shop. Specifically Vida Vegan for the Vegan folk, and Bakersfield Paleta company I believe is their name for those of us that need to satisfy that sweet tooth. Plus you can't go wrong with a paleta in 100 degree weather! I do wish that their were more vendors at this farmers market but beggars can't be choosers. I'll take what we can get. Fresh produce, baked breads, hummus, pizza, fruits, veggies, açaí bowls, and honey are all available at this farmers market. For those handymen around the house with dull shears and knifes, there's a vendor that will revive your full blades for a reasonable price. Overall super thankful and enjoy visiting this farmers market. Hopefully more and more vendors join the crowd and we can make it bigger and better! Check it out!

Yelp
It's getting to that time of year where more veggie's are coming into season. This Farmers Market in one of my favorite and seems to have more than the one on Saturday off F Street. Be prepared to see a crowd now that the weather is getting warmer. The one thing I think is people really need to abide by the keeping you pets away from the food. It's make's it hard for everyone to get close to the table without tripping over leases.

Yelp
Let's just say they could make a lot of improvements on the loval farmers markets here. I believe they could make some improvements on layout of the vendors to where there aren't a dozen fruit and vegie vendors selling the same thing side by side. The food vendors are a good add on too but they shouldn't have two BBQ vendors facing each other as if it was Food Networks Food Truck Wars. I appreciated the fact that they had a Chopped style cookogg with the local chefs from a few of the bigger local restaurants. We always seem to get the fresh juices which are always reasonably priced and some of the local vegies which never seem to be from Bakersfield even though we produce a ton of the worlds produce/products. I think if they mixed up the vendors and allowed a lot more people to come in it would make the experience that much better. I guess my review is more of a helpful guide of what I believe a Farmers Market should be. Oh well its my review and its hard to review something that has 3 dozen different things that might not be there next time.

Yelp
Have always wondered about the Haggin Oaks Farmers Market. As others have mentioned, they are in every Sunday from 9am to 2pm. Recently, had the opportunity to go here. Larger than I thought it would be. I did not realize there were more vendors around the corner. Many more vendors here as compared to the Saturday Farmers Market at Brimhall. There is something for everyone. I found what I wanted and so did my wife. Do wish there were a few more vendors selling fruits and vegetables. Other than that, no complaints. Remember to bring cash because most vendors do not take cards.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally came here today after a 5 year hiatus. It's pretty busy but nothing too extraordinary. Lots of friendly vendors & there are at least 5+ food & drink booths, which is nice. Market is hosted by Kaiser Permanente.

Yelp
Are used to live in Los Angeles so my favorite farmers markets are there. I can't say that this is one of my favorite ones because it's pretty small but it's something I do on Sundays anyways just to get some fresh fruit. It's really a good place to go for breakfast or lunch because there's a lot of people making things to eat. There's lots of meat and there is lots of veggie and vegan options. There's fruit and vegetables there's yogurt stand a hummus stand and a bread stand. I just wish that it was larger and they had more things to purchase. I'm .

Yelp
This little Farmer's Market is a must go to if you're in the area. From bbq to pizza, the food options are really good. The produce is fresh, affordable and local. If you love organic options, you must pay this place a visit. It's not a very large Farmer's Market but it's a good one. I've discovered great seasonings here and I also discovered some great pop up food restaurants here.

Yelp
Call me ridiculous or what you will but when I first heard of the Farmers Market my initial reaction was, "Nah, I don't want to go shopping for veggies"...man was I naïve about what this event is all about. This particular one is on Sundays in the Kaiser Permanente parking lot across from Applebees. One thing I like is there is a lot of parking so no reason to fret, there is parking on the street, in the back to the side, you name it, they have it. Depending upon the weather some vendors do not attend but they usually will be back by the next one, there are several that we frequent each time, Poke Express, Granville Farm, Martin's Meat and this little French bakery spot that I cannot remember the name. We spend at least an hour each visit perusing, eating or just relaxing on the benches during good weather. I have to say that we cannot let a visit go by without Strawberry Horchata from Granville Farm, a few pastries from the French bakery and my favorite, a Smoked Baked Potato topped with Deep Pit Beef from Martin's Meats. We love horchata and the strawberry one from Granville Farm is freaking delicious, today we tried their Coconut Horchata, while good it doesn't have that specialness that the strawberry one does. You pay $5.00 for a 24oz. cup and can refill for $4, any other place and I'd think its overpriced but I'm content with paying it to them. I've heard of Martin's Meats, they catered at my son's school for their band barbecue two years in a row but I've never made the trip downtown to their brick and mortar for the simple fact that we just don't hit that side of town much. Holy crap though, when I tried the smoked baked potato, which makes me resent shrugging off the visit. The line here is usually 5 deep at the minimum and a crowd is always surrounding their stand waiting on their order. I think they are reasonably priced, $8 with meat, $5 for butter, cheese, chives and sour cream, the size is astounding too. Everyone at the Farmers Market are courteous but friendly too, smiles upon smiles as you walk around. You have all sorts of people here, the environment is welcoming too, plus you get to see doggies, can't beat that! While the Farmers Market is not everyone's cup of tea I think you should visit it at least once, you'd be amazed at what you can find, I surely was.

Yelp
I hope this place continues to grow! I know the woman who runs it all isn't the nicest, so it deters some people. She definitely plays favorites with the booths and such, which sucks. But the quality of things at the market is fantastic. I love going for fruit and veggies and always leave with a new little home decor thing, or plant, or whatever tickles my fancy. I want to sell here one day but have been put off by the talk of the organizers. I hope they get their issues straightened out. Highlights: pho and egg rolls, the crepe guy (I heard he might be gone now? Sad.), and the produce stands.

Yelp
Really cool farmers market! It's the first one I've been to so far in Bakersfield so can't judge on any of that. To me this one is a bit small but I'm not sure if they are all this size. It is a "L" shaped market. All in all of you're looking for fresh fruits/vegetables, comic books or great bbq(Martin's meats is amazing) then you'll love this place. Side note they a mushroom farm and a cheese booth that is amazing! I ended up getting fresh oyster mushrooms and some pesto/cheese to make the best dinner last night!

Yelp
Fun way to spend some time Sunday afternoon. Good food interesting art work and great place to pick up some veggies

Yelp
I was very excited to see all the different vendors at the farmers market. Samples are plentiful and prices reasonable . You can get veggies, fruits, cheeses, hummus, coffee, nut butters, crafts, you name it. Everything you need all available in one convenient spot . Child friendly and dare I say culturally diverse this market has some rare finds for sure. One of my personal favs was the fresh fruit juice. I bought a turmeric shot it was about 3 dollars . It has an acquired taste , but many health benefits . I'll be sure to come back for more turmeric!

Yelp
Went this weekend and loved the selection, the produce, fruits, veggies and other selection of items. I also loved the fact that mostly everyone acknowledged my little girl and tried to put a smile. Definitely will be coming back and getting one of my favorite things which Is the hummus options.
google avatar

Yelp
Come support your local farmers! Although small, this market has most of the essentials and It's where I've been getting most of my groceries. The juice/fruits booths are my usual, must-have stops. I love their home-grown fruits and vegetables and that I'm able to talk to the vendors and ask questions. It's so much more personal and they're all so wonderfully nice. I would love to see a seafood vendor and more food trucks. The more the merrier. I saw several new vendors this weekend and I'm excited to see them expanding. Most vendors accept cards, but I usually bring cash for faster transactions.

Yelp
The Haggin Oaks Farmers Market takes place every Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm in the Kaiser Permanente parking lot on the Northeast corner of Ming and Haggin Oarks Drive. It's not a large farmers market, but it gets the job done admirably. The vendors sell quite a variety of different wares. There are people selling edible treats such as fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, jellies, local raw unfiltered honey, hummus, salsa, freshly baked bread and pastries, . And many of the vendors offered free samples of their delicious treats. There are also a variety of inedible treats such as hand milled soaps and handwoven Ubuntu bags. There were two different musicians at opposite ends of the parking lot; one was playing a guitar and one a saxophone. There were several food trucks down at the far end of the lot with some picnic tables set out in front of them, but I didn't try any of their wares. There were quite a few people walking around checking things out. There were families and individuals, old people and young, people from all walks of life enjoying the brisk morning air while they shopped. There were a number of people walking dogs, which I'm sure made the lady selling natural pet treats happy. I ended up buying some raw unfiltered honey, produced by local bees, mixed with ginger and lemon. It's wonderful both in tea or by itself in hot water. I also bought a loaf of squaw bread from a bakery in LA as well as a croissant, creme filled and dusted with slivered almonds and powdered sugar that was still amazing when I ate it the next morning! A bag of garlic flavored pistachios rounded out my purchases. There was a vendor selling them in a variety of different flavors including chili lime and jalapeno. My friend told me there is usually a vendor here that sells lavender products but she wasn't here this particular Sunday. I guess I'll have to make a few return trips until I can find her. I'd recommend bringing cash as I don't know if any of the vendors take credit cards.

Yelp
Its hard to review a Farmers Market cause some things you like and some not so much. Oh well, here goes. The La Megara Hummus guys deserve 5 stars for sure. They are the #1 reason I come to this Farmer's Market. The absolute best hummus that I've had. My favorites are the Spicy Pepper Hummus and the Roasted Garlic and Artichoke Hummus. See my pictures. We started coming so much they gave us a canvas bag with their company logo. Now I feel like a VIP when I go and buy some! I did an internet search to try to figure out where they are based out of. I think its either Long Beach or Beverly Hills. Their label says 21364 S Alameda Street but it doesn't say the city, just CA. It seems they primarily sell at various farmers markets in southern CA. Anyway, even if you think you don't like hummus, I would still recommend you give it another shot and try theirs. They will let you sample everything and I recommend that you do but try my favorites first! Moving on to the fruits and vegetables. Pretty good selections which I would expect from a Farmer's Market. Although, I would caution. One time, we bought some apples (a good sized bag) from one of the vendors that claims to be 100% organic. Almost every apple had a worm in it. After biting into many and being disgusted, we ended up throwing many away. Maybe I'd rather pick fruit that is not "organic" and give it a good wash. Funny thing is that I informed the vendor what happened the following week and they could care less. I wish I remembered the name of the vendor I would tell you. All I know is that we will never buy from them again! It was about 3-4 vendors down, on the right (west) side from the entrance. On to the tamales. Don't know their name but they are the only one so they know who they are. This could absolutely be one of my favorite things about the farmers market. I love good homemade tamales! However these fall short and I'll tell you why. They are 90% masa. Their meat to masa ratio is way off. Anybody that doesn't agree is either out of their mind or never had a good tamale. I believe that they do it on purpose to save money. I tried them more than once to make sure I didn't get a bad batch. It really pisses me off and its the only reason I am not a regular customer. I would even pay for double meat, although I shouldn't have to cause I just want how its supposed to be. Here are just a few more statements I'd like to make about various vendors: -Peanut butter stand didn't really impress despite the fact that I love peanut butter. -Salsa guy didn't impress even though I love salsa. -There was some fresh crepe sandwich guys there for awhile. I guess they don't come anymore but they made really good stuff and I wish they were back! Overall, I love coming here and you must come for the hummus alone!

Yelp
Yay! This is the first farmers market I've been to in Bakersfield, but I've been to many all over California. I like the location of this market (it's near the marketplace and there's a credit union ATM close by). It's relatively small, to be honest, which was kind of disappointing, but there are many gems in the market. Autonomy Farms, berries from Santa Maria, the Greek food guys, a fantastic gluten free baker that has a shop on Chester, and a local nut butter maker. Deliciousness to be had all around!!!! On my first visit I bought some strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, a gluten free muffin, and some fresh pita bread! I've tried all of them so far and they've all been amazing. I will definitely be back for more. Tips: Go earlier rather than later. Definitely bring cash. Pick up any fresh ingredients you want for cooking here. There are always tons of fruits/veges. Free samples are available from lots of the farms!

Yelp
This farmers market is really good, nice fresh fruit and vegetable choices, fresh fruit juices, dips, hummus, pickled veggies and unusual jams. There is so much to choose from. They also had some craft festival type things for sale, like hand woven baskets and jewelry etc.; there was a masseuse and a food truck there too. I think they did a pretty good job at making it appealing to customers. I got some really great juice from here, I would have gotten more items but couldn't at the time, I'll be back again real soon.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a good farmers market. I just wish there was more shops and more variety. Also it would be amazing if there was a actually dinning area. Where there are multiples tables to eat and hang out. There is only four tables by martins eats and I wish there was more. However, the people are amazing and the food is delicious.

Yelp
MY experience with this farmers Market Hasn't been pleasant from the get go. The vendors are amazing hard working people, except for the company that puts on the show (Hens Roost) There are many vendors that are not even Local, they are From LA. The Hens Roost (the people who put on this show) has it on their door Eat Local. To bad they can't even do that. I was a previous Vendor that supplied local jerky to its patrons. I was met with callousness and hostility it reminded me of my Military Days. Never have I felt a Local company treated others with so much disrespect as I have from them. They put on a face for their customers and soon as they turn their backs they say many angry/sexually charged words towards their vendors. as far as the vendors I really enjoyed their company and would do it all again if only they had different farmers market owners. Future Vendors be weary they are snakes

Yelp
Today I went the Rio Acai stand at the Haggin Oaks stand. The wait was over 10 minutes. An employee, male in his 20s with dark hair, working the cash register was ignored customers while he had his back to the customer behind me on his phone. He spent most of the time on his phone ignoring customers. After 10 minutes of waiting for my bowl, I noticed it was finally ready but the employee took a few more minutes talking to give me my bowl. He didn't ask if I needed a lid or spoon. I had to ask him for a lid, which he smashed on the container. I pointed out that the lid didn't close and he snapped back at me to be patient. I was patient the entire time and this was the first time I said something and that's the reaction I got. I regret not asking for his manager and being overly patient with his service. Also, I forgot that the employee threw my bowl in the bag rather than place it in the bag. The bowl was on it's side. I'm glad I caught it before it spilled. I like to support local businesses but I will not be visiting this business again. Their bowls are expensive and if you're going to pay so much the business shouldn't be disrespectful.

Yelp
Open every Sunday from 9am to 2pm, this little market is located on the corner of Haggin Oaks and Ming Avenue, in the Kaiser Permanente parking lot. It has been slowly growing and though smaller than many farmers markets, it definitely gets the job done. All the vendors are friendly and most offer tons of free samples. No one has been a grinch to my little boy who loves to try all the strawberries and apples. You will find your usual suspects of fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, and fresh squeezed juices. There is a stand for freeze dried fruits and vegetables. There is also an empanada stand, a hummus stand, mushroom stand (Sherry's Shrooms) and a pickles (Meek Pickles) stand. There are stands that sell nuts. Autonomy Farms has a booth and you can sign up for their CSA there, or just buy a few heirloom tomatoes or kale depending on the season. Autonomy also offer grass fed and grass finished beef products (tri tip, ribeye, roasts etc) and accepts credit cards via Square, which is really convenient. If you walk towards the back (the market is shaped like an "L"), you will find Martin's Meats as well as the Rutz Acai truck. I have been meaning to hunt down the Acai truck and am so glad they come to the Haggins Oaks Market now. I really enjoyed the starter bowl (strawberries, bananas, granola and Acai) with a drizzle of honey. Yum yum! Added plus: credit cards also accepted by Rutz via Square.
