I want to be able to give this a better rating but just can't quite get to the four star rating.
Haig Point is a neat experience and potentially worth doing once if you don't have other options for similar experiences near you. We had a group of 12 and did the member for a day experience.
Basically you meet up on the mainland and take the ferry over to Daufuskie Island, where you are then shuttled to the club house for your golf. After the round you're taken back to the ferry for a relaxing trip back. It's fun and certainly something different. All of the staff we interacted with were absolutely top notch. Very nice club house with a bar, and range balls were included.
On the golf portion, I loved the layout of the course. Off the tee it was by far the most interesting course we played in Hilton Head up to and including Harbour Town. However, for the price we paid, we were all pretty underwhelmed by the course condition. Tees and fairways were in good shape but approaches around greens VERY rough. A number of greens with dead spots. And super inconsistent bunkers with linings showing in a handful of them where there was a seeming lack of sand. Just things that when you're paying those kinds of prices, shouldn't be happening.
Overall, a cool trip and experience, although it does make for a long day. I'm glad we did it once, but I wouldn't do it again at the current price. As a similar alternative depending where you're coming from, check out Bald Head Island.
