Haig Road Putu Piring is one of those rare stalls where the first bite already tells you you’re eating something special. The putu piring here is simply excellent. The steamed rice cake is soft, fluffy and warm, with just the right texture so it almost melts in your mouth. Inside, the generous gula melaka filling is rich and fragrant, and has that perfect caramel-like sweetness that flows out when you bite into it.
What really stands out is how authentic and traditional the taste is. No shortcuts, no modern twisting of flavours—just pure, classic craftsmanship. The stall runs like a well-oiled machine and the preparation feels like it has been perfected over time. Even though the queue can get long, it moves fast and the wait is always worth it.
This is one of those iconic stalls that truly lives up to its reputation. If you love Malay desserts or simply want a nostalgic treat, Haig Road Putu Piring is a must-try and easily one of the best in Singapore.
