Hail Mary

Hail Mary knocks it out of the park every time. The food is consistently exceptional, and the service is just as impressive. Every visit reminds me why I keep coming back—top-notch quality across the board. Highly recommend!

One of the best burgers and steak sandwiches in Asheville! A little pricey but definitely worth it! The dirt cup was a little fancy with what I think was mousse, as we were looking for the classic chocolate pudding/cool whip dirt cup. The patio looked very welcoming but someone was smoking so we had to sit elsewhere. I will be back for the amazing food.

Say a fond farewell to Tastee Diner, and give a warm welcome to Hail Mary! She has made many welcome improvements: she gave the place a facelift and made it spic and span all over and came out with a whole new menu that respectfully pays homage to the Tastee of the past, but is on another level and space of her own entirely. It's all truly very exciting. I am glad to have visited on the grand opening four weeks in and at the beginning of this major turning point. She is a gift to West Asheville. For the first go-round, I chose a double smashburger, fries, and beef poutine with shredded beef added (a most recommended option). In-house ginger soda topped with candied ginger (the best ginger soda I have ever tasted). I can't get enough of the gravy. It speaks to the soul. The garlic aioli and the ranch sauce are both exactly what the doctor ordered. The honest-to-goodness happiness, joy, pride, and satisfaction in the staff you can feel is palpable. There are so many things to love, and I have only touched the surface so far. Hail Mary? Hail Yes!

Definitely worth the stop here, the food is delicious. We got the hamburger, the grilled cheese, and the blue crab potato salad. Everything was 10/10 and so flavorful!! My only recommendation would be to cook the potatoes a little longer. They’re also dog friendly and even went out of there way to give her some peanut butter.

Im so stoked about this place. I cant wait until they add even more stuff to the menu but for now this will definitely do. I dream about those homemade Dino nuggets and the burger and fry were fire! I also tried my friends vegan burger and I was really impressed with it. Definitely will be back.

The food was amazing 10/10! Probably the best grilled cheese I will ever have. But I think this place could benefit from a few upgrades to their outdoor seating - possibly adding some privacy from the road.

We really enjoyed the vibe of the place. I was able to sample several items from the menu. I did not eat the salad… I sampled all of the sandwiches except the French dip. They all tasted great. I liked everything, but I did go back and eat an entire Bodega. Now; I am a French fry guy, and I can tell you that these fries I had were excellent. If you are like me you tend to stick with your fries when picking a side. Let me tell you; we ordered the smashed fingerlings, and they will be ordered every time we come in here. Poutine? Not like this. Try it. I will be order this the next time I am in. Smiles. There were lots of smiles. I remember that because I don’t really see that when I go out. I was a visitor to West Asheville. Finding Hail Mary on Haywood road was one of those jewels that you rarely find when you’re traveling. If I were a local; I would be a regular. They have something for whatever mood you might be in.

Hail Mary stuff your face!! The sandwiches are huge & delicious. I get Brussels everywhere I go and these are in my TOP. Will be back for sure!

Good food great vibes. Burger is the best in town ! Feel bad for people that don't understand how Ubereatz works. Go in and judge for yourself. Don't buy from the middle man, go straight to the source

Can't stand you, yelp, but I love Hail Mary. Never had a bad bite there. Really well done food in a super chill space. Worth every penny.

Delivery order. For a $23.40 cheesesteak, it was extremely underwhelming. Way too much chipotle mayo, the sandwich was literally dripping in it. The meat was under seasoned and way overcooked, shoe leather dry. The cheese was cooked into one solid crusted mass. The bread is some highly processed Amoroso style roll that doesn't do the job of delivery vehicle for the sandwich and could be so much better if it were an actual real piece of bread. After all this, I had to order a side of fries for an extra $6.50, bringing my total to $29.90 pretax just for a fairly small "cheesesteak", if you could call it that, and some undercooked Sysco fries. I also find it interesting they typically charge $18 dollars for this sandwich if you eat in the restaurant. I understand charging a bit more to cover delivery app expenses but an extra $5.40 per sandwich?!?! We also got their Sauce Flight, which normally in the restaurant comes with roasted fingerling potatoes for $13. Delivery, for some reason you get undercooked fries instead of fingerling potatoes and they charge you $15.60. The online delivery menu says "lots of fries" and it was literally the same amount if not less than the $6.50 side of fries. All four sauces were mayo based too, which for $15.60 is an easy way out to make multiple sauces with the same base. Just another overhyped, overpriced spot in West Asheville. EDIT: In response to the owners comment saying "usually if I can't afford something, I just won't buy it". I love food, and have no qualms paying top dollar for GOOD food. This just simply was not good and purely a rip off, a fugazi. I guess I'm sorry I wanted to try out your restaurant and see what all the hype was about.

I am sooo mad at myself for not posting a review or pictures when I went here weeks ago. Best burger Ive had by far in the 6 years I've lived here. This place has quality food, maybe not so good for the heart... but does wonders for the soul! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back

We went to tasty diner and it was hit and miss. But this the new Hail Mary is a hit. We went for lunch and had the place to ourselves on a Wednesday. The Brussels are beyond amazing and the double smash burger was equally yummy. They are updating the outside patio and that looks like it's gonna be a nice place to enjoy a delicious meal and a delicious beverage. We will be back.

have to add to the accolades, if you heart west asheville, this is the place for you. fun eclectic menu. reasonably priced at a " more than you think" quantity per serving" ... so share. . delicious . fun music. and thanks to Chef Mallory.... best desserts EVER. get them to go if you must... but get them!

This place rocks!!! I missed out on the original tastee diner (even after living in west Asheville for 5 years...) but the staff has reinvented this iconic place into a true gem. I got a perfectly balanced cocktail and poutine and salad that were truly delicious. I love food that is hearty and feels like it comes from the heart, and isn't pretentious. So glad to have a new favorite restaurant in my neighborhood that comes from the community. Can't wait to taste the whole menu!!

Fun West Asheville. Great vibes and great service. Fun menu. And kudos to Chef Mallory ... always an outstanding job!
