"About 40 minutes southeast of Chicago in Tinley Park, Hailstrom offers beers and live music. A full food menu is not available, but there are snacks. Hailstrom’s tap list offers an array of stouts and IPAs. Many, including the popular Vlad series, are available in cans and growlers to go." - Ashok Selvam

Google
We love Hailstorm! Had our third date there and got married there back in September. They did a great job with our rental. The staff was absolutely amazing and we couldn't have imagined a better day

Kiley Weber

Google
Great brewery, great beers, great bar food. If you’re in town, it’s worth a stop or afternoon! Bartenders are super friendly and knowledgeable about their drinks.

Mark Murphy

Google
This was our first time stopping in and we all agreed that everything was Awesome!!! The beer was delicious with something for every palette and the food was absolutely delicious! The Cuban was great, the wings were tender and delicious and the pretzel with beer cheese was the perfect appetizer! We are looking forward to our next visit!

Muffuletta Panini (Excellent)! and a BlackBerry Lime Golden Ale. Awe place for lunch and I have an idea dinner would be great too. I’ll be back.

Jerry Camacho

Google
Great place to go and enjoy a cold freshly brewed beer while listening to some live music on certain days. The beer selection is very good and very tasty. They also have a limited bar food menu and a few other snacks. The patio area is a nice addition to the taproom. The atmosphere here is kind of laid back. The one thing I didn't like is that there's no TV'S and no bar stools to seat at the bar. The parking lot seemed kind small for the size of the taproom.

Kelly Scott

Google
Stopped here for a few beers. Always like the VLad barrel series, and this place did not disappoint. Large open concept with a stage food service area, and the bar. Plus there is a ton of games on site as well.

Sandi Spencer

Google
The beer was good the food not so much. Hailstorm considers itself family friendly and I find that strange since its primary goal is to sell alcohol. There is nothing wrong with adult beverages in an adult space with adult conversation! A lady today with about a nine month baby drinking her second/ third beer at the same time trying to feed the baby a bottle, stop it from crying, dropped the carrier etc. If parents/grandparents aren’t responsible maybe Hailstorm should be. How about an age limit! Infants shouldn’t be in bars.

Ryan Zimmerman

Google
Great beer with an awesome brewery feel! Really felt like you were sitting in the middle of the beer production room. The food was excellent, everything was fast and full of flavor.

Miranda T.

Yelp
Hailstorm Brewing is by far one of the best and most popular breweries in the Tinley Park area. The beers they produce are consistently good, flavors match the descriptions, and they don't over product new beers to dilute the quality of offerings. They have a ton of inside community tables, a corner stage or musicians to come play, an outdoor patio, and pinball machines that kids love to play! Their brewery can get a bit loud but is very family friendly. In the last couple of years, they've introduced a food menu and snacks to enjoy. Hailstorm is a must stop when in the area! Tip: This brewery is a stop on the Ale Trail Trolley Tinley Park offers on Wednesdays throughout the summer for free!

Katie N.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times. They have decent beer selection as well as events. I recently came for beer and yoga, which was fun and a great price. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
We love coming here for growlers and will miss it now that we're leaving the area. They have a variety of beers on tap, lots of seating, some board games, and offer a few of their beers in cans to go. They also have a limited menu of food available. I recommend getting a sampler so you can try a few things. Their beers tend to skew hop-heavy, so I appreciate that they also bring in some other local ciders and such to fill out my samplers. They have a cheesecake sour that comes in a few fruit flavors over the summer but it's not as readily available in the winter. The wheat beer is a good staple for me and I'll sometimes add some of their stouts. Husband is an IPA fan and his favorite here is prairie madness. I do miss the old days when they brought in various local food trucks rather than their own food.

Yosef M.

Yelp
Now this restaurant definitely took me for a surprise! Coming here for the first time in July with my girlfriend we didn't know what to expect! The prices are pretty fair, the smoked wings are amazing, so tender and mouth watering they will leave you wanting even more. We had some great beers flavors and plan to come back for more real soon. The staff is awesome as well, very helpful!

Andy M.

Yelp
A very spacious clean and large beer offering Brewery in industrial part of Tinley Park the overall layout of this place was typical of a brewery and the beer I tried was very tasty. This is another great Chicago land Brewery then not too many people know about but if you live in the south suburbs you definitely should check this place out I was overall impressed by the place and I believe there is one of the top breweries most often ranked in the south suburbs they have a gaming gambling room and plenty of space for people getting together in a group

Edward T.

Yelp
Stopped in to grab some lunch (and maybe a beer). Young lady at the counter was friendly and got a nice IPA in my hand quickly. Ordered a BLT flatbread and a Roast beef wrap to go. Food came up fast. So fast that I hadn't had time to even jump on that beer. The same young lady got my flatbread converted to for here. There was way more food than I was expecting. Same gal got me situated with a to go box and I took the wrap and the half eaten flatbread home. Everything tasted great. Lots of food for the price. Tasty beer. Will repeat!

Gregory S.

Yelp
I visited Hailstorm's tap room recently and had a good time. The space is large and attractive with lots of seating indoors and outside. There's a takeaway cooler near the entrance and the bar is on your right as you walk in. There seems to be a steady stream of patrons who visit, though it wasn't slammed when we visited. They have food, but the kitchen wasn't open when we arrived, so I haven't tried the food. Good beers. I had the Southside Irish Red ale and a BBA Arctic Ale. There's a good mixture of lagers, ales and the dark, heavy stuff I tend to favor. They have live music on certain nights, so be sure to check their website.

Sandi S.

Yelp
Sitting here right now with about 19 kids! This is ridiculous, kids on the floor crayons everywhere, infants, kids running on the outside stage. Never again.

Scott K.

Yelp
Great place for food and beer. The entertainment was great and a great atmosphere. Service was awesome also!!

Jaime R.

Yelp
Great place to chill and grab some beers. They have a nice selection with a great variety of styles and flavors. Can't go wrong with a flight! I love a good sour and they had two on tap when I visited. One was a raspberry sour which was tart and not overly sweet. The other was a key lime cheesecake which was so good and super unique. You could definitely taste the citrus with a nice creamy finish. Will be back!

John Paul Y.

Yelp
Amazing "atmosphere." Very big area to chill at, they have live music, and a great assortment of games to play.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
FANTASTIC! Really great beer(s)-many options. Service was efficient and nice folks. We ordered a bunch of different food. The portions were very generous and the food was DELICIOUS! Fun indoor area, games, music, good folks. Super cool outdoor area, Adirondack chairs, fire pits, picnic tables. Overall a really great place!

Crystal N.

Yelp
It's a massive brewery but the ball where you order is pretty small. The bartender was...kinda surly. Didn't appreciate that we were taking a bit of time to look through their 20-something taps and kept trying to hurry us even though there was no one behind us. We were new to the brewery, so we were a bit shocked that she rudely indicated that the menu board was off to the side. The beer was ok and they only do pours, so no flights here. Overall, I'll just stick to picking up a four-pack from the store if I'm looking to try their beers.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Greatly appreciated everything that past few times. Happy and friendly staff makes for even more thirty and friendly customers.

Valarie S.

Yelp
Love this brewery. Second time there. When we are in town for a concert this is a must stop. They had a great Oktoberfest party too! Great beer good food fun atmosphere

Anuja M.

Yelp
Amazing. Great food. Fantastic beer. Great space to relax with games and friends. We will definitely be back

Mark L.

Yelp
Awesome Beers on Tap, Excellent Staff members that work in this location. I highly recommend this brewery if your in the area.

Alla S.

Yelp
This place was a perfect way to pass the time in their large awesome outdoor beer garden! They offered some really delicious and unique beer choices with the beer slushy being my favorite! Just such a cool like literally lol idea. The also had a very tasty key lime cheesecake sour beer that was also excellently executed. The other one I loved was the pecan pie I think it was called. I just really liked the atmosphere and the not only unique beer flavors but the way they were done was perfect! I'm often disappointed in beer where flavors described sound delicious but then I get it and it's just too subtle for me. Not here. They really know how to bring those flavors in strong and to the forefront of the flavor of the beer. The only thing they need to improve on is telling me about the special of the day. I would have ordered a little differently had I known. The bartender had ample opportunity since I took my time asking questions and ordering. Obviously they just forgot. Maybe they are new or the special is new but regardless it wasn't intentional obviously and they were nice, friendly and really tried to make the slushy machine to work for me when it was having problems. All in all very unique flavors you can actually taste, friendly patient staff and a great atmosphere and beer garden!

Allison F.

Yelp
I'll give you one reason to make the trip to Tinley Park: Hailstorm's Prairie Madness IPA. WOWZA. This beer is one of the best sips I've had in 2018, and to no surprise, I'm not the only person who feels this way. It also has a gold medal under its belt from the Great American Beer Festival back in 2017. Therefore, I suggest you nab a four pack or spend a hour in Hailstorm's taproom for a superb beer. (Not a hophead? No problem: there are usually 15 beers on tap, ranging from lagers to barleywine.)

Rachelle D.

Yelp
Great beer, great people! Love the friendly, laidback atmosphere! The Cubano sandwich was a great complement to my Hotel Life beer.

Chris L.

Yelp
Good! Service! Chill and fun! We grabbed board games from the shelf at the brewery and had so much good food and great drinks! Would definitely come back.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Best brewery I've been to in awhile! For me, it's a hike. But if you're going to a concert in Tinley Park, it actually works quite well to pop in here for some drinks first. Plus most Saturdays they have a food truck on site. When we went La Ofrenda was serving up their tacos. Win! Okay now I'm going to tell you the crazy part. The most insane, mind-blowing piece of information. Their flights are $5. Yep, pick any 5 from their menu for $5 - though a few do have a $1 upcharge. Still. This is the best flight deal I've ever come across. What's even better though is all of their beer is really tasty! I didn't have a bad beer and I tried ten of them. Some had really cute names, too! But...this one...Vlad the Conquistador...so tasty. Giving 5 bottlecaps on Untappd is a rarity for me and this dark brew earned that honor. It's a 13.3% Russian Imperial Stout brewed with ancho, guajillo and chipotle chili peppers with Mexican Cinnamon, Madagascar Vanilla, Cocoa , Dark Agave. So basically a million flavors joined together for your enjoyment! I loved the chill atmosphere at the brewery. It's a pretty big space and no frills, mostly folding tables & chairs set up. The demographics here skewed a bit older than I'm used to but I actually liked that because it meant a more chill crowd than usual. And I *loved* their music - it was all Motown classics while we were there though I'm sure it's switched up here & there. I wish Hailstorm was in the city because it would be my go to brewery for sure. Alas, it is not but whenever I am in the area, I will make a point of stopping in!

Megan M.

Yelp
Staff is always so welcoming, friendly, and helpful in making selections. I enjoy trying new beers and the rotating selection. Great food, too! We went to the Valentines Day event and the dinner and beer pairings were awesome. Would love to attend more events like that!

Matt T.

Yelp
Staff is always so friendly and helpful. Beer rotation always on point, and the food menu is always fresh and great tasting.

Glen G.

Yelp
Hailstorm is the new chuckie cheese. Great place for moms to bring their 2yr olds for an awesome birthday party of running around or the youth little league team that just finished their game and couldn't find a place to go for ice cream. All kids are welcome. - Does anyone know where the breweries for adults are?

Leslie L.

Yelp
Atmosphere meh, food choices meh, beer was okay. I really did like the strawberry shortcake beer, very different. We ordered pretzel and beer cheese... I thought we would get meaty cheese with pretzel chunks. Instead a cold block cup of cheese (delicious) and a bag of pretzel thin chips. The pretzels kept breaking in the cheese. Not strong enough. We also had a lot of cheese left. Prolly won't be back, it was nice but just okay.

Emily S.

Yelp
Our first visit to Hailstorm Brewing was for contactless curbside pickup. We were able to place our order and pick up within 30 minutes, which was extremely convenient. It was easy to place an order online and simply drive up to the front of the building where the curbside pickup area was clearly marked. Our order was verified and placed in our trunk, and off we went! The beers were all fantastic and the prices were great as well. I would highly recommend a visit to Hailstorm, and it was great to see their safety precautions.

D K.

Yelp
This place has great beer, however it's a sausage fest. The should serve wine and better food. Also have better live music or just get a jukebox, no one wants to listen to talk singing.

Marius S.

Yelp
The beer is great. Bar area and patio are great Just don't like the cats around there I'm allergic.

Kathy F.

Yelp
Amazing selection of beers you will find something for everyone's taste buds from the dark beers to irish red found my favorite to be the fruity beers a cherry cheesecake OMG it could be dangerous food menu is limited but that's something to try on the return visit

C.J. M.

Yelp
So, I got to admit, I was not going to Tinley Park for this brewery. I came down to check out 350 brewery, and I just had the WORST service there-so i decided to see what other breweries were open during the shutdown. This place is GREAT! Their space is so HUGE and the service was impeccable. I got a crowler of "All Rye'd, All Rye'd, All Rye'd and it tasted great! So compared to to crowler I got from 350, less then ten minutes earlier the difference was: Hailstorm rinsed off the can before they gave it to me, 350 did not. Pour: 350 brews was flat- absolutely zero head! Hailstorm has beautiful life to it and it was all around a better experience. I would recommend Hailstorm, over 350 brewing, to anyone who wants great beer. Cheers! I will be back!

Christopher A.

Yelp
I wish I could write two reviews, but I'll put as much as I can in this one. First, the beers are excellent, and I pretty much enjoyed every one I have had. Dominatrix is by far my favorite, but I'm not a big beer snob. I have a few friends that are and even brew their own, and they also like this place a lot. Most of my friends that go here are fans of the Vlad line of beers, but I stick with my Dominatrix and will sample 1 or two each visit. The prices are good, and there's a food truck on certain days. So, easily 5 stars for this place; however, I have gone a few times during 'release' events, and man this place gets crowded. People bring their kids and it's like a carnival. Not a lot of seating when it gets like this. Not being a huge beer fan, I can do without the release parties. Going here on a weeknight with a few buddies is a great time. Oh, and out of the 20 or so times I have been here, 1/2 had live music, and it was all decent.

A L.

Yelp
Excellent beer, that's what it's all about, A great variety of beers and unique in style. This is not a resturant that has a,small micro brewery in it, but a,brewery making beer, There is a small tap room, ( I have heard it may be expanded into an adjoining space ) It's in an industrial building. There is not a kitchen so no food menu but often they have evening's with live music and local food trucks. The live music events are in the warehouse area, not fancy but cool in a way Great beer is the main reason that makes this a great place and an different out of the ordinary experience

Denise D.

Yelp
Hands down, my favorite micro brewery in Chicagoland. Hailstorm even has the only (ONLY) IPA I can tolerate: Cumulus. Seriously, it's tasty! I can detect all the hops, sure, but don't feel like they are assaulting me as hops usually do. That is a skilled brewmaster, my friends. They've got several barleywines (which will Mess. You. Up. Be careful) and I've heard great things about their sours, but I don't do sours, even though Hailstorm's has the best name ever: Ich Bin Ein Berliner. (Hilarious). Thankfully, Hailstorm does a wide variety of brews for every taste. You're not stuck with all hoppy beers as is the (annoying, tired, played out) trend elsewhere these days. Being the malt-forward beer drinker I am, I love the South Side Red, Crash Test Dummy (a spot on Belgian style tripel), and the Vlad Imperial Stout. Oh, and when it's available, Take Me To Your Liter (Octoberfest). Many of these are for purchase at Binny's, but a visit to the brewery is a lot of fun. Check the website--on the weekends they often have live music and food trucks (there's no kitchen). They have fun parties, too-- I had a blast at their last anniversary party and love attending their Halloween costume parties and checking out the fantastic costumes (WHILE drinking Octoberfest--what a perfect evening!) I'm planning a trip here soon--I'm dying to try the Am I a Hipster? imperial milk stout and the Nimbus pale ale (hell, if I like the IPA from the same line, I'll probably love the pale). See you there!

Sam W.

Yelp
this place is really big and gets super packed on the weekends. i do like the cats that are around though

Kim M.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Friday for lunch and we had a great time. The bartender was fun to talk too. We tried a couple of beers and had the brisket grilled cheese and the sonoran dog....wow! Both were fantastic! The brisket grilled cheese was smokey and creamy! The sonoran dog...what can you say about a hotdog wrapped in bacon...it was sooo good. We had the lagers and a couple of the hazy IPAs and all of the beer we had was great. Looking forward to coming back in the Spring to take advantage of their massive patio!

Kim M.

Yelp
Cute hidden beer gem! Free music on some weekends and alternating food trucks. Beers options are on point and many. You can take some home too! Went here for a few hours one random Friday. Nice atmosphere, chill crowd. Not uppity at all. You can bring your pups! If they were closer to home i would go often.

Tim T.

Yelp
After sampling many microbreweries, this is probably one of my favorites. Consisently rotating stock, they have top quality interesting beers, and a good variety as well as great service. I love this place! Wish it was closer to my home. Id be here all the time. I also love that they have Gose. Others will occasionally have them but Hailstorm makes a point to have them more frequently.

Bridget B.

Yelp
Fanatastic beer, but the tap room needs a revamp. Tried Forklift Training: Keylime Cheesecake, BA Vlad Vanilla and Lumberjack Dessert. All 3 of these beers were fantastic and I will definitely be back!

Jeremy T.

Yelp
Come for the beer. Stay for the Alabama Hot Tub. I've visited this place a couple of times and absolutely loved it each visit. I love discovering new breweries in the Chicagoland area. Hailstorm is one of my favorite ones. Each beer I tried was amazing and the prices are very decent as well. They have a rotating selection of brews but I highly recommend checking out the Alabama Hot Tub and Crash Test Dummy. Also, the generous sized flights are 5 for $5. Another great thing about this place is the atmosphere. It is really cool sitting in the actual brewery enjoying a beer. The taproom is decent and small. However, I prefer drinking on a barrel in the actual brewery. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable, which is a huge plus at a brewery. I know a lot of us city folk are too good to go to the suburbs, but this is a place definitely worth the drive.

Cheri P.

Yelp
We came in late on a Friday night and I believe there was only 45 minutes until closing. There was a food truck outside, which I believe adds to the charm of the breweries that don't serve munchies. When we walked in, the front of the bar area was pretty packed but we were served quickly. There was music playing too, and that was a plus. The beer, itself, was pretty good. We tried the Dominatrix and Fruitcake N Shame. The only negatives we experienced were the plastic folding tables and the shelves worth of cleaning supplies that were in plain view. Also, there was a big projector screen set up, both nothing was playing on there, which would've been really cool. I'd definitely stop back by when we have more time to spend there. Hoping to upgrade my rating to 4 stars.

Mary B.

Yelp
Great selection of craft beers especially IPAs. It's funny there were no signs and it was dark out we wouldn't have found it without Yelp, maps, and the food truck outside. My fave was the Stratus IPA and my hubby loved the Prairie. We'll definitely be coming back.

Louis L.

Yelp
2 words: cheesecake sour. Huge nose of cheesecake, light on the tongue with excellent sour finish. Didnt hit the food menu but it looked creative. Nice mix of beers for any group.

Suzanne B.

Yelp
I truly enjoyed my experience at Hailstorm for their grand opening. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, even as they got more and more busy. Our pretzel bowl did not stay empty for long before it was refilled! Hailstorm was a big craft brewery with room for expansion in the future. The actual bar area was a little smaller, with about 6 of their beers, and then 6 beers or so from other local places. I tried their Honey Pot Blonde Ale- clean taste and easy to drink! We stood around skinny wooden tables, which permitted easy communication with each other, but after 2 hours, I could've used a stool or something. Prices are super reasonable-- $5-7 covered pretty much everything, as far as I could tell (I'm not known for my vision though), or you could do a beer flight of their beers, 6 samples for $6. I give this place just 4 stars because they have potential to do more, and I know that is their plan. I will definitely go back!!

Kay J.

Yelp
Beer: 4 stars Staff: 2 stars Cats: 5 stars Gotta' love a brewery with cats. Beerteder was efficient but aloof. It would have been nice if he'd chatted about the beers. No food.

Joseph K.

Yelp
Very comfortable place, although it's a little hard to find if you're not looking for it. It's set in an industrial park, so use your GPS or Google Maps to get you right there. You walk in and it's like "Wow... I'm in a warehouse," but then it's like "OK, there's tables and a bar and it's all separated and I'm an adult so I know how to do this!" I had no idea what I wanted when I sat at the bar, so I went with the "Polish Smoke" and I kept them coming for my entire visit. Just after I ordered, a little cat-dude jumped up and sat down on the barstool next to me. "Stormy" by name... I'm liking this place better and better. I look around at the chalkboards and bomber-offerings and I realize there are no TVs. There is music playing overhead (maybe WLUP?) but there are no sportsball games going on. After about 20 minutes, the staff starts pulling out a projector and screen. "OK", I think... "they're going to put on the Bulls." NO! They threw in a DVD of a Judas Priest concert. Really? YES! So I sat for longer than I intended to. Enjoyed every beer, met 3 new friends, and had the pleasure of talking with owner Gene, who was slinging beers at the time. What an awesome dude! Sarcastic and hilarious... but most of all, it's really obvious he loves his brewery. Food? Not on my radar. I came here for a beer and stayed for 3 or 4. I seriously can't find many flaws. When I'm "south" and have the choice to go to 350, Rock Bottom Orland, Tribes, etc... I will set my GPS to Hailstorm.

Ryan V.

Yelp
I consider Hailstorm to be my "home bar." For those out of the know, it may be difficult to find. This is a good thing, because I like that it is not always busy. Definitely take a look at their Prairie Madness IPA. It's an award winning beer. I like it so much that I very rarely try anything else, which is unfortunate because their menu is always rotating and there's a lot of interesting choices. Hailstorm frequently offers live music and food trucks. The bartenders are great and are always willing to recommend a new beer and offer samples. Come here on a weekend and it's a whole new atmosphere than the weekdays. You used to be able to bring your pets here, but you can't anymore, which is unfortunate. If you come here often enough, you'll feel like family. Highly recommend giving it a try, especially if you live in the Tinley Park area. Tinley is becoming a great town for craft beer, but Hailstorm will always be at the top of the list in Tinley. A must-try!

Kamilah S.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday for SIU day at the brewery. The staff is wonderful, the bartenders are great. I met the owner's wife, I believe her name is Emily, she is the sweetest (Emily and her husband are both SIU graduates, like myself). The beers are delicious. I decided to do the 5 beer tastings. I had to give 2 stars because one, there were soooo many children. some were in the baby slings, some were walking, some were walking and falling, maybe I am exaggerating, but it was 5 or so, but at a brewery, 1 is way toooo many. second, the biggest black lab dog came in the door, it was raining out outside, so he was wet. There were some pretzels on the floor and he kept coming by my friend and my self to eat them. It was so much going on, between the dog and the children. Last time I came, which was last year, there was a cat that minded his own business and sat in the corner and no kids. I want to come back when the establishment is dog and child free.

Kat W.

Yelp
Short and sweet: the beers are great, the service is meh. They lave great beers, their IPAs are excellent. I like Cirrus and Cumulus. I've had some variations they've put out as well, which we good. I can't recall what fruit it was (happens when day drinking...), but I enjoyed it. My husband likes their barrel aged beers, but that's more up his alley than mine. However, I never quite feel welcome. It always seems the staff has something better to do, or I'm interrupting them. Who knows. It hasn't actually stopped us from going yet though.

Jessi C.

Yelp
The guys from 350 brewery company suggested I come down here while I'm in town from Detroit! What a great suggestion - beer was top notch, and was awesome to be able to watch the bottling process while enjoying a flight. For sure will be coming back! Awesome brews on tab, the Drunk Uncle was for sure a favorite!
