Hair Queen LA

This was a whole saga. I ordered a custom unit inspired by a blonde balayage look and was told it would match the reference. What I received was much darker with unblended, chunky highlights—completely different from what was promised. The hair itself is decent quality, but when you’re paying premium prices, the final product should actually reflect what you ordered. This felt more like a “close enough” situation rather than true customization. Honestly, I could’ve gotten a better wig for $400 from Amazon without the headache. If you’re ordering something specific, make sure you get detailed confirmations and photos before they ship, because what you receive may not match the inspo. Disappointing overall.

I purchased a wig from Hair Queen LA for $750 and was very disappointed with both the quality of the product and the customer service I received. The wig did not match the advertised standards — the hair was prone to tangling and did not resemble the quality expected at this price point. When I contacted the store to resolve the issue, I was met with unhelpful responses and no genuine attempt to make things right. Instead of addressing my concerns, they referred me to their refund policy and refused to provide support, despite the product not meeting reasonable expectations. As a paying customer, I believe it’s important for companies to stand behind their products and treat customers with respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I cannot recommend Hair Queen LA based on the product I received and the way my concerns were handled.

I purchased two wigs here which cost me a total of 5,000$ and the whole experience felt like a scam. I’ve sent an email which I got no reply to, so I will share it here as well: The wig I received was absolutely not what I ordered. First of all it arrived much later than my scheduled appointment, I had to wait an hour for it to arrive and 2 more hours for it to dry. It was 6pm, 30 minutes before closing, when they brought it out for installation and it was looking a complete mess, we couldn’t tell what it would look like at all. I wonder why the wig was not ready beforehand considering the appointment was made two weeks ago. Next, the dying is completely wrong, my stylist saw it next day during the photo shoot and we had to cancel the shoot because it did not look anything like what we asked for. We ordered a solid colored dark blonde, I mentioned the word solid multiple times during the text messages and it can be seen in the pictures as well, but instead I received a two colored, gradient hair with extremely dark roots. Next it was nothing like the wig I tried on as a reference, this wig is chunky and large on top but there is little to no hair at the ends—the hair fullness on top does not match the bottom at all. This is definitely not the quality we were promised nor anything close to the wig I tried on in store. It was straight up deceit on multiple levels. The second, blonde wig I purchased for my mother had such an extremely large cup that they had to sew it in the back in lumps and it still doesn’t fit right. The seller did not say anything about the difference in sizes while we were making the purchase even though we asked multiple times, and on the contrary assured us that it wouldn’t matter-which we learned from the stylists was a complete misguidance. Another deceit. I’ve attached a complete video of the wig, and a picture of the wig that I tried on in store as well as the text messages. A wig that cannot stay on my mother’s head even after being glued and sewed on cannot be acceptable, especially in such a recognized establishment. The stylists in store, Erica, did her absolute best to make it look good, she was an angel, but the product is simply not right. The custom wig I purchased was meant to be used in a reality series we are about to start filming but at the end of the day I am left with two unwearable wigs and a wasted five thousand dollars. Beyond the financial loss I am saddened by the wrongness of this situation, there is a continuous promise of top quality and service that is never being fulfilled. After seeing the social media content I trusted this establishment %100 but the product purchased is nothing close to what is being marketed, and I’ve been left in tears because I can’t even shoot the content that was scheduled to be posted this week with the wig. I am baffled and emotionally exhausted by this experience.

I love this place. Top quality hair and a 1 stop shop for women who want to look and feel the best. My first time i purchased hair the install was free and they gave me free makeup when i joined the influencer program. The program perks change but ive been loyal ever since. I bought the crimp hair 30’ wig. Was very disappointed. First off, the wig came with absolutely no crimps. Then, the hair was not 100% human. I crimped it myself and a lot of the hair burnt off leaving me with huge patches of hair loss. Wig shedding a lot. Also, the lace front did not go back far enough , to where you could see tracks in the middle of my head. Only had wig for two weeks and already trashed.Total waste would not recommend. Oh and wig smelled fishy!!

It was my first booking with their salon service. Everything about my experience was luxury and worth every penny. My stylist Lilah was an angel and went above and beyond to make sure my style was everything I asked for. I truly appreciate all the ladies for being so kind and accommodating. I will be booking again in the future!

I visited LA and came here with expectations far beyond what they were capable of delivering. I purchased a beautiful wig which came with a free install and free makeup for about $1600 total. The service was great although some thieves came and snatched a few wigs while I was there which had the salon in a frenzy. The install lasted for a few weeks but afterwards it was no good. The wig sheds like crazy and it has very bad hair quality. Not to mention my lace started going bald in some areas after ONLY one install. Please DO NOT waste your money with this place.

OMG! Where do I even begin??? My appointment was beyond amazing, from the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and was very well taken care of. Everyone was smiling and happy to be there. I am still on cloud 9 and my hair is LAID AND SLAYEDDD ok! No but seriously though, they had so many options to choose from, I need to go back and play some more dress up 🤭 I am so happy and so grateful! I also love the store and how clean and nice smelling it was. Don't normally do yelp reviews, but coming in this morning after reading the current reviews i had to. the customer service was extremely pleasant. they are really professional and knowledgeable. Kelly at the reception area was very sweet. Nicole did my sew-in and was so nice and gentle with the braiding and whole process. i added 3 bundles of wavy brazilian hair at 30inches and was so happy with my results and the pricing . absolutely would recommend anyone to this place of business.

I highly recommend one who takes their hair care seriously to book an appointment at HAIRQUEEN Los Angeles on Wilshire Blvd. I grew up having my hair done by some of the most talented Hair Artist in town one being Micheal Jackson's, Usher etc. The talented Nicole Wallace at HAIRQUEEN is the ONLY person I've been blessed to find on that level. The price is always right so Full sow in and wash doesn't break the bank, but you leave looking like serious money honey! my hair has been growing in healthier and stronger, and her fingers are so gentle with scalp massage during my shampoo and whilst having my sow in weave put in. I sleep better I'm Nicole's chair than I do in my own bed. The Salon Atmosphere is super delightful, full of charisma and positivity energy with an A+ on hospitality. I love that I feel safe at the salon among people with professional integrity which is hard to find at black salons in L.A. trust me Ive seen some stuff, which is why if I were looking for someone to trust my head with I'd appreciate an honest review. The HairArtists at HAIRQUEEN give their clients the royal treatment, so every client leaves feeling like Duchess, only a HAIRQUEEN can manifest that! Believe other reviews. Spent $1k+ on a wig and the stylist over plucked the hairline it looked uneven and jagged, not natural at all. Wasted 4 hours of my time on the install. Replacement wig was 5" shorter than what I paid for and they charge based on length. I feel cheated out of my money. They expect you to spend and just accept whatever they want to give you. Emailed the manager and front desk Kelly said she'd get back to me but no one got back. This was where I went to get my wigs but not anymore. This business will lose loyal customers.

This place is amazing, the quality is unmatched and all of the staff is extremely talented. Nicole, Robyn and pinky have done installs for me and what lace?! The color selection and the design of the hair is great and lots of options. Always love the environment in there as well. Definitely recommend!

Fixing the customer service and actually doing good quality hair. I'd buy the bundles from the shop but I wouldn't let anyone install me. My girl upstairs with the make up does a good job but other than that chile save your time go out of la if you want good shop service. You won't find it here. I even reached out to the owner who didn't even care about my hair the time or money spent here. Very outrageous as an owner.

Very awful service I went there got an install for $300 that didn't last more than 5 days, They didn't want to fix it, they basically asked me to redo and pay for another install because after 6 days they were unable to do anything... ( I contacted them 6 days after my appointment) seriously??? Plus I paid $25 to have a 10:30 am appointment with a stylist that I chose previously... they started to do my hair at 1 pm by a different stylist . The cap wasn't put correctly and the glue didn't last, after 5 days my hair was a mess ! I was a regular customer and I bought 3 (more than) expensive wigs but still ... Never again for me

I love getting my tape-ins from here. The hair is so pretty and good quality hair. Sabrina at the front is sooo sweet and patient she will help you find exactly what you're looking for.

I've been following Hair Queen LA on Instagram for some time. Although it had been quite a while since I last got my hair done professionally, I decided to try out their services. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and given a thorough consultation, which immediately put me at ease. Every step of the process with Diamond my hairstylist, from shampooing to sewing to styling, was seamless. I would definitely recommend their services.

They have no customer service skills. NONE AT ALL! If you are not an instagram model or buying colored wigs, you get treated like a PEASANT AND NOT THE QUEEN! But the name is Hair Queens, right???? Yeah, I feel some kind of way. Especially when I'm a repeat customer spending 5 to 6 hundred every time I step in that mug! AND YOU GOT AN ATTITUDE AND ACTING LIKE MY MONEY IS NO GOOD. OR MAYBE YOU ARE JUST HAVING A BAD DAY? SIS, NAW! To early in the morning. And I haven't had my coffee. REVIEWS ARE REAL! LEARN HOW TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS! I wanted to make sure I wrote a review as I've been waiting to be contacted about my order, I ordered bundles the 3 bundles straight hair 18,20, 22 inches, upon ordering I then was contacted about 3-4days later and told they did not have the straight bundles in stock I could get the body wave and receive my order sooner rather then later as they didn't have straight in stock. I was like okay I can jus straighten it, my hair then came and while at my hair appointment my stylist unravels my bundles and shows me how there are gaps in my tracks and how on one side of the tracks the hair is like cut or something. I have had my hair in for about 3 weeks now and the first night it was getting tangled and everything so u fortunate. Bottom line I'm very dissatisfied with the amount of money I spend which was well over $500 and this is my first time buying here I figured it would be okay being that I see a lot of the celebrities go here and promote them. I am not happy at all and no one has tried to contact me to help out or apologize or anything as I have reached out multiple times now. I wouldn't recommend.

It was my 3rd time coming to hair queen to have my hair done. I went in yesterday for a silk press on my natural hair and I must admit I was a bit nervous because my stylist back home usually does my silk presses. One of the things I don't like about getting my hair done here is that they make you pay to get your hair done BEFORE you even get it done. My hair dresser's name was RJ and I would say that I had one of the WORST experiences with him. Hair salons are supposed to be relaxing not anxiety inducing. He was so condescending and unprofessional! When I told him that he was burning me with the blow dryer and hot comb....(who uses a hot comb on natural hair these days anyways) he got really defensive with me Instead of being professional and apologetic like one would hope, I didn't understand. His poor hygiene was another thing because he dropped the paddle brush on the floor and used it back on my hair-I was too scared to call him out in fear that he would lash out at me. His energy was already negative and very off while His lack of attention and care was evident. I never would've paid the amount I did for such poor service and a silk press that isn't even straight now all I have to show for it are steam burns on my scalp from assault with styling tools and curly roots. Definitely won't be going back.

I'll only give 1 star to the patience and customer service of Sheika. I came here a day ago to get tape ins however they told me I was unable to which was okay with me, I asked what was best for my hair and that they did. However after getting home I realized my head was very itchy, my tracks at the front started showing and so I called to state I would be back to see what could be done, Kaya the other receptionist was nothing like Kelli, she had an attitude for no reason and would try to seem condensing in explaining why she was charging me another $500 for a new service after I just paid $919 and purchase a wig kit for $300. I had no issues in traveling 40 minutes to get my hair done because I assumed they were the best in LA. To show that money was never the issue I still went ahead and got my hair redone and paid ! It's just the principle and attitude and how you treat customers!!! If it was a celebrity I'm sure they wouldn't have treated the person like this!

I came in today to get a wig along with an install.. star greeted me with a smile as I walked in and informed me she would be right with me as she was helping a couple people ahead of me. She helped my try on wigs and even helped me make a choice for my birthday hair ! Sheika was my stylist! Very beautiful and professional woman! She is good conversation and knows what she's doing. I am going to give this place 2 stars because my first experience was ok not exceptional and the reason being is because it was my birthday and they did a great job on my make up but my wig was way too big for my head. My appointment was at 4pm and I didn't leave until 7pm for a wig and makeup. I decided to come here once again but this time only for makeup. I made my appointment for October 14th at 3pm. I arrived early I was greeted and told to have a seat upstairs. I was seated for approximately 15 mins before someone came upstairs and said my makeup artist wouldn't be there until 4pm. I kindly declined as I had things to do. They didn't refund my 25$ deposit and just said sorry. Let's just say I will not be going back.

Look no further Ladies‼ This afternoon I walked into Hair Queen LA and had so many options. I found a 22 inch, warm Auburn / Blonde Ambre, soft, with combs, and a nice interior band inside. Feels snug & Comfy. Light weight to be so long I enjoyed spending my time & money here; due to the hair quality, and professionalism that went into my install. Older female owner/associate? is deeply confused about how to speak to customers who want to spend hundreds of dollars - snarkily asked me to put on a wig cap when I was already wearing one of my own, and scolded me for touching the merchandise lol. Spoiler alert... there are a lot of other places to get wigs in LA, and they've got better selections and infinitely better service. If you're trying to have a comfortable shopping experience, this is decidedly not it.

My first time visiting Hair Queen LA and Rochelle was the best. They were so kind and patient since was my first time. The quality is unmatched and I took pictures to show my hairdresser and even she was impressed and she's been doing business for over 30 years with her own beauty school so she knows quality. I'm so impressed and can't wait to visit Hair Queen LA again. so professional so sweet literally made me feel like a queen.

Eye Candy wigs.. but the services Are NOT WORTH IT. I went to this hair salon and it was the worst experience ever . I've been coming here every once in a blue moon in hopes that they would have better stylist. Dominque&Darrin&Alex Do not even have a hair License and the manager is allowing them to freelance (without notifying the client l) always ask to see a Hair License !!!! If you Do Not Ask they will jack you up for the full price. It's a whole scam. They will partially do your hair and take hours, and so They can linger around for your tip They also Gossip all throughout that hair queen salon, i even heard one of the hairstyllist talking about synthetic hair being sold for thousands and customers not even aware due to the synthetic being is so transparent . On top of all of this. I paid for one wig install and over 4 employees touched my head . Meaning 4 different tip outs . the Manager/Owner is never inside the store, he is always gone. So the freelancers are Wild and out of control which is dangerous because they need security. The employees have no filters, or mannerism which makes the whole hair Appointment uncomfortable or tense Overall the wigs and hair quality is okay. All jokes aside Youre better off finding a hairstylist on Craigslist

I think the quality of the hair has changed... i bought a closure and within a month the hair became very dry and frizzy... I've tried washing it but it's just not the same They attempted to fix the situation by offering a discount on my NEXT purchase but i do not feel confident enough to buy from hair queen La .. i spent a lot of money on this hair I am a long term hair kind of lady, but i do NOT see this closure lasting .. the first time i bought the hair a few years ago, i had absolutely no complaints at all. But this time is different, and it's so unfortunate : (

I wanted to leave a review because I only see really good reviews then really bad reviews. Nothing in between . My boy friend wanted me come here to get my hair done for my birthday . Kinda argued with him About bc I have my own stylist and I don't care for IG hyped places. But he gave me his Amex so i wasn't going to argue with that ‍. I was there on a Wednesday and it was pretty busy i was shocked but think it was mostly because there were a few reality TV girls there and IG girls. I took advantage of the birthday special and got a discount on my wig ..my make up included . I also took advantage of the FREE wig install. I waited a bit to get a wash before my install . I was not too thrilled that they had one bowl to wash hair in. They made up for it with a margarita. The girl that did my hair did my makeup as well. My boyfriend liked my hair and makeup so that's a win. Customer service was good they were pretty busy And kept checking up on people that were waiting. My wig install lasted 10 days . I also workout in the gym 2-3 times a week heavy. I wouldn't be surprised if the girls complaining in the other reviews just don't know how to lay their lace flat at night. I'd recommend giving people care instructions to people when they leave or show them how to lay their lace. The wig quality was great and I plan to reinstall it later. The wigs are expensive but from a business perspective i get why . Also witnessed the one of the owners doing interviews. I'd be careful the type of questions you ask people during interviews. California is employee siding state. Let me know if you need a HR consultant I gave it a 4 bc i wouldn't come here unless my boyfriend paid for it . I think it's black owned so maybe wouldn't mind giving them my money again but we will see. They did put in alot effort to make sure people were situated. I like my install and make up . The wig quality was nice. It was 1300 before the discount. Ow they asked me for an IG video before i left ! I wanted debunk that they are only nice to celebs. Lol because i am a no body and they were nice to me. I'm certain there were girls in there that paid double.

This place is not I repeat NOT GOOD, it's dirty and overpriced and they don't don't what they're actually doing. Please save itself the headache and go somewhere else

My hair came down the very next day , had to wait hours they didn't have my order ready , they were rude as fuck they tried to make it seem like I didn't purchase the order then I had to show confirmation number. I also had to pay a extra $100 just to wait hours for a simple hairstyle. Never tf again will they get service from me! Ruined my whole day and waste of money .

I placed an order for 10A grade hair and the bundles that I have received are getting EXTRA TANGLED when I run my fingers through them, they're dry, and BEYOND frizzy this is not grade 10 A hair ,they're not silky or, bouncy. This hair feels cheap and like horse hair and I paid almost $400. $393 and some change ORDER 2930. I would like a refund!! I got this hair installed Friday and I've had it wrapped since. There's no way it should be tangled. I can't even run my fingers through this shit , the hair is beyond course !!!!

I was so happy about getting my wig here, all the pics on IG looked so good. I was skeptical about coming here because of all the hype on social media. Like you gotta be an IG model to get good customer service or something.. I was RIGHT! You get better treatment if you have 10k plus followers on IG. Yes it's true. A girl next to me was doing a video for IG and got better treatment than me. Got served wine, and checked up on more than me.. it was an awkward feeling... The salon is beautiful don't get me wrong. I got a bunch of free goodies: a pink rose, some lashes, a cute 2 piece outfit, but did not fit me because I never got asked what size I am they just put it in the bag for me lol and a shower cap. So the packaging of my wig box and the accessories was gorgeous but doesn't compensate for the bad service and quality of my install. Sadly, my lace wig stared lifting after 3 days. Not happy, considering the price I paid. I text the manager how I felt, he ignored me. So I'm here on yelp now. I would not recommend at this time. I overpaid for my wig. It's all a hype on social media to get girls in the door...

Didn't bleach the knots. Was not blended well at all and the glue started coming off immediately

If I could give zero stars I would. Bought 30 inch bundles and they went from 30 inches to 20 inches in three weeks of wear. Because they said that I purchased almost a month ago that they could do nothing for me but discount my next purchase which I will never be making because the hair is trash. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!!!!

I've been a repeat customer with Nicole and I highly recommend her for all installs!!! she knows exactly how I like my hair styled and she takes her time to get it perfect! I'm always happy when I leave her chair.

If I could give 10 stars I would. I've had the hardest time trying to find hair extensions but I made the best decision from getting them here. Amazing quality and they customize the color so you don't have to worry if it matches. Shelby did the custom color and it couldn't be more perfect. More importantly, everyone was so nice and friendly it made the experience even better. I highly recommend coming to Hair Queen LA.

I've purchased 2 wigs from Hair Queen LA. What I love most is the wide variety of colors they have. The customer service is ok as well...although one occasion there was a bit of an issue that I won't waste time on. With that being said, the quality of the closures is really really bad for wigs that cost over $1300+. 1 wig closure started balding after a month and was always frizzy, dry , matted. I'm very knowledgable on caring for wigs so I knew I wasn't the problem. They also don't have a wide variety of lengths (in store). I've since found a wig company for 1/3 of the Cost I was paying at hair queen with better quality hair/closures. If you have money to blow and aren't necessarily looking for a wig that will actually last, i recommend hair queen. They have some of the best color work !!

I purchased my wig through Klana a few months ago but I installed it about two weeks ago. The wig started shedding and tangling uncontrollably within the first week. I tried to wash and condition the hair to no avail. I got it taken out today and my stylist told me there's a bald spot on the wig. Don't spend your money on this overpriced trash. If you want a bird's nest with a bald spot, get a wig from Aliexpress instead.

Amazing place to get your wig and installed and colored. My birthday hair is soooo pretty. They're very professional and know what they're doing. Definitely would recommend them.

Do not waste your time and money. After my first install, i had to return in 2 days. The wig cap was glued to my head outside of the wig and was sticky and noticeable. The wig came off in less than 10 days as i was walking down the street. I am a cancer patient. Wigs are a medical necessity for me, as i have lost my hair to chemotherapy. The management did not even offer me an apology. I was charged $25 to make an appointment that was not even deductible from the $300 charge. Absolutely, unacceptable service.

I have spent several thousand on wigs/extensions from this store. The hair holds up every time, if you want to tweak the units they are accommodating with a selection of services, and I most appreciate that their phone line can be reached after hours with any question under the sun. It brings me confidence in their product. Also, it is an experience each time you go in. I have been allowed to try on several units, see the colors in different types of lighting to compare, and receive on-the-spot education from anyone working there. Their employees are the most knowledgeable out of all the stores I have ever purchased from. I recommended this place to my mom/sister, and think it is a must see stop by if you're in the LA area. Both walk-ins and appointments are accommodated. Cash or card accepted.

terrible hair terrible service!!!!!!! i returned their cheap lil hair and received my refund and these sticky finger hoes took it out of my bank again!!! even tho i returned and they accepted the hair

This place is garbage. Bought two wigs that were not what I expected. The hair was cheap and I was lied to regarding the quality. One wig had two different types of hair and the other has a synthetic blend. Very low quality. It's a shame that you can't do business with black folks without getting ripped off. I knew better and trusted them anyway. Don't shop here, you'll be highly disappointed.
