"Situated in a strip mall off Eighth Avenue, Hai’s Sushi & Pho is a bit of a sleeper — but definitely worthy of keeping in your back pocket when the itch for some thinly sliced raw fish hits. As the name suggests, this family-run restaurant serves Japanese and Vietnamese dishes (plus some Thai, for good measure), but the move here is sitting at the sushi bar and letting the chef bring out whatever is freshest that day." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones, Delia Jo Ramsey, Eater Staff

We ordered a mix of appetizers, sushi, drunken noodles, and chicken teriyaki. Oh, and boba tea (both the milk and taro were delicious)! The service was good and we enjoyed all of the food. Sushi is expensive so plan accordingly when you visit!

In Nashville for work and have been craving for some Pho this night. I also wanted to watch some of the NCAA tournament and called ahead to make sure they had a TV to view which they had. I have to say that this place was our 2nd choice only because the first location we chose for Pho did not have TV on even though they had 2 TV's , anyhow that lead to choosing Hai's Sushi & Pho. To be honest, I was skeptical because it was located in a strip mall. As it was our first time visiting they have 3 doors and took us a bit to figure out the entry is by the sushi bar. They have seating at the Sushi bar( which is great because you can watch them create the sushi you order), a few tables by the Sushi bar and another room with tables set up. Started off with freshly breaded calamari, which I thought was really good, but you have to like the tentacle portions so if you are more accustomed to the bread rings don't expect that. Ordered some sashimi with a variety of cuts of fish which melted in your mouth. The cuts were very fresh and tender. We also ordered a plate of nigiri , that was so good that I ordered another plate. Then I ordered a bowl of Pho, which was the reason I was out. So far this has to be the best Pho I had in Nashville, I can't say it's the best in general because "Mom" makes the best at home 😁. It was so delicious, you know it's good when all you need to add is heat, the spicy level of how hot you want the Pho, the broth they make was on point. We sat by a few regulars through out the night. We were out on a Friday night so they were open til 10pm, which was a plus. The staff was very nice and friendly. There were people coming in 10mins to 10 and they kept serving Sushi even after they put everything in the Sushi bar away. Now that is the kind of service I like to see, but maybe because they were regulars? Either way they didn't turn down service or rushed anyone to leave. I thought personally that the food was worth the price point. You can spend $6-$16 on Sushi, it all depends what you are getting and how many pcs. You can get their specials up on the chalkboard or order off the menu. Pho was around $9(more if you add your choice of protein about $5 more). I thought their price points were reasonable. Im not sure if people think it should be cheaper than that on Sushi. I definitely recommend this place to try! I'll be returning again if I have a chance and in town.

Their food was very very terrible. I ordered shrimp friedrice and it came out burnt also smell bad. I would advise you not to waste your time and money at this location. Poor management also.

Really like this place, mostly come here for the Pho but the sushi is awesome too! Service and staff are always super friendly, not to crowded and no real wait. The pho is really why I come here and it’s awesome, broth is tasty, portion is large and you can add toppings as you want. Prices are good! Feels authentic and not a hype place. Just go and eat! Sorry for the half eaten photos :)

Hai's is my new fav sushi place in town. The Belmont roll is super yummy and they have so many wonderful appetizers! Such a treat eating here!

This place is a hit-or-miss. Some days their sushi is fresh, but today it wasn’t, and I noticed today they’re skimping on the meats in the pho dat biet and hui tui soups. Normally, they’re good with amount you get for the price but not today. We must have came when the ingredients were low and they’re trying to get rid of the older sashimi.

I order $105 worth of food and it was never delivered. The food is amazing because I have oreder before, but due to the fact that uber eats never delivered my order I had to leave a review. You all may want to retain even dealing with Uber!!!!

I enjoyed this place, nice ambiance. Could have lived without the country music. Just glad it was not Christian. Place was clean, bathrooms were very nice as well. Sushi bar was awesome. The food, the food was delicious and amazing. I will most definitely want to come back and try other plates. If your looking for Asian cooking and food. Make this a required stop. Lots of breast by activities as well.

Yelp
Authentic! Came to this great Pho establishment after attempting to go to another Pho restaurant down the street (won't mention their name) and it was the best decision. Broth was very flavorful Traditional rice noodles and quality ingredients made this meal a true experience. The ambience is traditional/semi intimate in their back dining room. I ordered the shrimp pho. The entire staff was awesome and very friendly. I respect businesses more when they treat you like a guest rather than just another transaction/sale. Even after my meal I conversed with some staff members discussing some current events & it felt like I had been there before but it was my first time. The only Pho spot I'll visit while in Nashville, TN will be here without a doubt!

Yelp
First time trying this place. Extremely disappointed in the service and the food. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken the food smelled great but the taste was not what I expected. When expressing this matter to the cook/ manager I received a very inappropriate and hostile response. Due to how everything was handled I would not recommend this place.

Quezz T.

Yelp
First time trying this place. Very disappointed in the service and the food. I had the pad sew and fried rice which neither one of these dishes tasted fresh. I expressed my disappointment and I received a very hostile response from the cook/manager.

Yelp
I was really craving some sushi and noticed Hai's when I went grocery shopping! Located on the same strip mall as Kroger, I decided to go ahead and give this place a try. I got my standard order that I get from all sushi joints: tuna and crunchy shrimp roll. My order was ready fast and I took it to go. I will say that the food most definitely satisfied my sushi craving. It wasn't the best quality sushi I ever had, but by far had one of the most reasonable price points in town. I think if you come here with that expectation, you'll leave pleased!

Chance B.

Yelp
I was looking for a place that I could get all my cravings satisfied and Hai's hit the spot! Not only were they able to offer delicious food but they did it at an affordable rate. My food was delivered quickly from Uber Eats. I was enjoying from the comfort of my home, not pictured is the tuna tataki which was devoured as soon as it was opened- highly recommend! It was my first time having drunken noodles but I'd been craving them ever since my friend ordered them and I had pad Thai- these hit the spot- I did add a little sauce to mine. The sushi rolls were not overly priced so you are able to get an assortment. The Gale roll was the fried one featuring cream cheese- alternated between the wasabi sauce it came with and pozu- HEAVEN! For the basic rolls we got shrimp tempura and tried the crab cream cheese- both of which were full of flavor. Would highly recommend and will be ordering again. Look forward to going in person so I can check out the atmosphere!

Andrea W.

Yelp
Got takeout for work, ordered the drunken noodle with tofu, asked for spicy. Surprisingly good. Noodles at the top were a bit hard, might be because it was sitting for a while from takeout, not sure - bottom noodles were chewier. Needs to have more vegetables, tofu was slices and not cubed which was odd. Spicy was alright, not spicy enough for me but I'll just ask for spicier next time if I want it again.

R B.

Yelp
I went in for lunch and had the Pho. I was not impressed. I had asked for raw beef so that it would cook in the broth and the gentleman presented it to me already cooked. This may have been a communication error on my part. The veggies were fresh, but the broth did not have that rich flavor, but you could taste/smell the aromatics. I'm not going to say that you shouldn't go there, but I would not order their Pho.

Rae S.

Yelp
Best sushi and pho in Nashville hands down! I've lived in Nashville for forever and have tried every restaurant here, if you're looking for some authentic Viet food, this is the place. They also have great boba!

Quy M.

Yelp
We had a party of 10 and they seated us quickly. However I don't think they are staffed well enough to handle such a large party, or a huge crowd in general. It took a while for them to place their orders, even longer to get it. Establishment was a bit warm, so were the beers. My wife and I ordered way too much, mostly me. Luckily I told them to bring out the order as soon as it was ready instead of waiting for everyone's food to be ready at once. Thank goodness because it would have been over an hour and a half which is how long it took for the last dish to come out. Edamame - 0/10. This came out the quickest and was cold. Chicken satay - 4/10. Wasn't overly impressed. Sushi Rolls - 6/10. Mango Paradis was good. Not so much the Double Shrimp. Hot and Sour Soup - 1/10. Wouldn't recommend and didn't come with a side order of rice. Pho - 2/10. I ordered the deluxe which came out to $16 (woah) and wasn't very flavorful. Pork Rice Plate - 2/10. We ended up taking this to go. Had it the same night and the pork chop was not marinated very well.

Yelp
Very unprofessional business, they embarrass you in front of your customers if you don't leave a tip. I've come here multiple times to the point that the owner knows me and my wife. You should never treat repeat customers this way. Especially after the one time I didn't tip you. I understand that it is recommended that you leave a tip in the restaurant services. As a business owner, you should at least respect the fact that your repeat customers are coming back to even buy your food and eat there. Sometimes life happens, and we are unable to leave more than what we can afford. This wasn't the first incident that I had with him. I let the last one go, but this was the last straw. I will never go back here again. I do not recommend he does not care and will embarrass you in front of other customers.

Maria T.

Yelp
Food was ok. Was not too impressed with their food presentation. For a Pho place, just average. The tripe in the Pho we ordered was quite chewy. We got to their place around 9 pm and it was a rainy night. There were 2 other customers already seated and eating so it wasn't very busy. We got served pretty quickly but the server seemed not very happy about his job. It was probably because we interrupted the football game he was watching on the tv screen by the bar. The server also made a mistake with one of our orders. Instead of trying to rectify it, he insisted that we made the wrong order. Since we were hungry and had no energy to argue, we just took it anyway. Nothing stellar at this place. Not worth recommending. But since we didn't get any food poisoning, I still gave them 3 stars.

Heather S.

Yelp
I've eaten sushi in MANY land locked states and you're always risking it, I feel. I have been here three times now and the last time I sat at the bar. Not in the least was I expecting to see what I saw... Lets just say the fish is the furthest thing from fresh I have probably ever seen. As I was sitting there, the sushi chef proceeded to cut open frozen plastic sealed bags of fish and cut and lay out for more rolls. Now, I am fine with that if it's flown in that way but I am pretty sure it wasn't next day air from anywhere except a bulk location. With that being said, I rate "2 stars" b/c it always tastes good, prompt service, and they're friendly. If they werent so quick Most rolls here are all the same and just prepared differently. Nothing about any of them really stand out.

Robin M.

Yelp
WONDERFUL!!!! I came in to place a big to go order. They all were very kind and made sure I had something to drink while I waited. We loved the nigiri. They did forget our spring rolls tho :/

Zoraida K.

Yelp
The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is that I've eaten in this tiny place before and it was decent. This time I ordered for pick up. The app told me or would be almost an hour but after 30 mins I went to Hais to check because either shouldn't take that long. As I came in the app said your food is ready! How convenient, but when I asked for it they couldn't find the order. They had me describe my order. When I said 4 eggshells they said well this box has 4 egg rolls, then while holding my phone they realized it was a GrubHub order and started pulling it together. I got home (300yards away) with cold tempura, cold egg rolls, tepid white rice (though I paid fried rice) and steak combo. Very disappointing. Not sure I'll be back.

April M.

Yelp
We came all the way from Mt Juliet to try this place, because we cant seem to find a good bowl of Pho anywhere near us, anyways, I'm glad to report that this place is by far the best place we've eaten at in a while since we've moved here to TN, for Pho! we did go back and they have some water issues or something so we didn't get our Pho, but we will go back!

Jessica G.

Yelp
Service on point! We came here last week and my daughter left her sweater (we literally didn't even know) and when we walked in today they remembered us and handed it to us- they had saved it not knowing when we'd ever be back. But the beef pho though...oooohweee They cook their beef bone broth for a full 48 hrs and use filtered water, not janky metallic taste tap water. My new spot.

Chenette B.

Yelp
The portion size is not congruent with the price. My bowl was $26 with tip on Uber Eats. My 3 year old niece eats more than this amount of protein. Head over to West Nashville instead.

Yvette J.

Yelp
Best sushi ever! I love it . And everyone is so nice! Im never disappointed and the fruit teas are to die for honestly ‼

Morgan D.

Yelp
I still adore Hai's with all my heart. I eat there at least once a week. I cannot say it enough this is the best sushi in Nashville. Pro tip: check the specials board when you walk in for new rolls that aren't on the printed menu. I have expanded my sushi choices to include the fancy roll and the Belmont roll from said specials menu. Try the ginger salad, the ginger dressing has a hint of peanut and the leftover dressing goes great on sushi or a side of rice. Hai is just the sweetest man and really cares about his craft of sushi creation. The whole staff will take good care of you. If you have not eaten at Hai's yet you are missing out. Go to Hai's right now!

Steph G.

Yelp
Ordered a Vietnamese rice noodle dish with beef from here a few months ago. The best had a poor flavor- maybe it had gone bad?? Not sure, but will not be returning

Maddie H.

Yelp
My experience with Hai's was a bit lackluster but I can't tell if it was just me not ordering the right thing. If you look at the photo of the Tuna Salad roll I got it *looks* amazing. *Looks*. However, the tuna was not the melt-in-your-mouth fresh that I was hoping for. When I get a roll with raw sushi the freshness of the fish really needs to shine since there's no fallback of the tempura or cream cheese to mask the flavor. If I was rating on presentation alone then it would be a 5--beautifully presented and a work of art. Since this roll was tuna, cucumber and a very light ponzu there just seemed to be something missing. It was like a was waiting for some taste to hit me and there wasn't the *umami* moment I was hoping for. It was bland. I also got miso soup and a small house salad and both of these were fine but the standard you'd get anywhere else. Service was good. Our server was attentive. The restaurant is small and very casual. It was a good choice for a weeknight dinner since there weren't a lot of people and we were seated right away. Also, the prices are very reasonable. Perhaps I'll be back to give it another try to *wow* me. Perhaps not.

Kendall R.

Yelp
I called in an order for chicken fried rice here. It was ready in 15 minutes, but was only warm when I picked it up so it seems it as ready earlier. It was pretty decent fried rice and friendly staff when I picked it up. It was a little expensive for how much rice I got. Might try again, but also might look for somewhere cheaper with bigger portions.

Tori S.

Yelp
If I could rate this place 0 I would. We (2 people) basically got kicked out because they had a "big party." I've never had this kind of blatantly rude service anywhere. I am genuinely shocked and disappointed. I understand if he had came to me and said, we are short staffed, we aren't really equipped for this tonight, etc. But he started off saying , " oh we have a big party." I said it was alright and we would be patient I just really had a craving and came here. He grimaces and walks off. 5 minutes later he comes back and says "any service we want will take a "long time. " once again i say it's ok and he walks off again. Then he says " Oh, it'll take 45 minutes for anything y'all want. " Then I stated I only wanted pho, spring rolls, and a bubble tea. For BOTH of us. And he repeats his statement. 45 minutes to get pho and spring rolls ? No. You just don't want me there/ If you're busy ok I get it but the delivery is so important. I would rather they lied and said they were closed. I will never be back here.

Anne N.

Yelp
It amazes me how people can bring themselves to rate this place 4 or 5 stars especially the one who eat Pho!! Omg! I had to stop after the 2nd bite and drive 15 minutes to my regular spot to order another bowl of pho to eat!! I haven't done this before. No one deserves to eat this kind of food really. You can clearly tell they don't give a damn about what they serve to you. I truly think this place need an honest review so just in case people who read reviews can avoid paying for food that they couldn't even eat like me. And after you read this, if you still want to eat at this place, all power to you! Don't say I didn't warn you!

Brandon J.

Yelp
Best Japanese in nashville!!! Had it once after getting recommended it from a friend and i cant stop coming back!!! I recommend the husband and wife sushi roll and the hot saki!!!

Amye K.

Yelp
Came to Hai's looking for good sushi and pho. It's in sort of an odd location on a side road, up a hill, next to a liquor warehouse store, so pay attention if you're looking for it for the first time. The sushi was excellent. The pho was good but not a standout. It had the right flavors, but it seemed watery. I'm used to the broth having stronger flavors from the star anise and other spices. Ingredients were fresh. No wilty bean sprouts or brown basil leaves! Presentation and service were good. I'd go back, but I'd order sushi instead of pho next time.

Corrine P.

Yelp
Wanted to like this place, they are friendly enough, but unfortunately their sushi is made with fish that is not tasty or fresh tasting. Tried them two different times just to be sure and both times the fish was the least flavorful part of the roll. I tried the fish by itself and it had a consistency in that felt like it was old, frozen and not fresh. Even the nigiri had zero flavor except wasabi which was inside it for some reason. Tried the boba last time and it wasn't as good as pretty much any other boba place, haven't tried the pho or other items, but we came specifically for sushi and it's just not worth it. I feel bad to leave this review because they didn't even upset me at all, nice people, just I feel I could have made better food at home, not sushi obviously, but I'd rather have not sushi at home than spend money on tasteless sushi out.

Emily C.

Yelp
Great Pho! I ordered the chicken with meatballs and fresh spring rolls and it came packaged separately and well put together! The broth was still hot and very flavorful. The chicken portion was very small but with everything it was easily forgettable. The spring rolls were very fresh tasting and crunchy. I ordered Togo and was sent with everything you'd need from the restaurant. Very good!

Brendan D.

Yelp
We go here 6 times a month. Very consistently good. Hai's pho is tasty and served well. His sushi burritos are top notch. Very good Thai food as well.

Sheena T.

Yelp
I ordered takeout from Hai's on a cold, rainy night and it did not disappoint! I didn't sample the sushi on my first visit, but I love pho and am always excited to try a restaurant that is closer to my house so that I don't have to drive all the way to Charlotte! Hai's chicken pho was very good! Very flavorful and they had all the great fresh ingredients that come on the side. I also had the spring rolls, and they were so good and recently made. Usually when I order them the rice paper wrap is tough and can be difficult to eat, but Hai's was soft and delicious with the best accompaniment, the peanut sauce. If their sushi is anywhere near as good as the Vietnamese food they offer, it will be my new favorite restaurant! I can't wait to come back.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Reasonable price for a good fresh sushi, you don't even know how many time I tried out sushi place that tasted like 10 days old fish. Recommend this place for sure

Angela L.

Yelp
I ordered sushi to-go. I ordered a scallop tempura roll. Nowhere on the menu does it say that lettuce is in the roll, letalone giant pieces of lettuce that I need to pick out? The pieces were MASSIVE and fell apart when I tried to pick them up. I had to take 2 bites per piece. The sushi didn't taste bad, it was the most average sushi I've ever had. The menu is inconsistent, pieces way too big and rolled very loose.

Aubrey R.

Yelp
I really love this place! The food is great! I've had a lot on the menu and never once disappointed. What I love even more though is that the owners are very kind and genuinely engage with their customers. I'm not here all the time but every time I come in, they know half the people in the restaurant. Highly recommend for a low key vibe and great food!

Kali M.

Yelp
Best Sushi ever and I've had sushi from all over America. Hair is amazing very charismatic and adventurous. He rarely takes days off and it's because no one can treat sushi the way he does. Totally amazing sushi and awesome pho. He gets the freshest ingredients reasonably priced and overall my favorite sushi spot. I once brought an apple and asked him to put it in a sushi roll and he was up for the challenge. A rest family friendly and family owned restaurant.

Charlotte L.

Yelp
Oh. My. Stars. Could it be that nearly three years after moving to Nashville I have finally found an extraordinary sushi joint? I so very badly want all sushi lovers to rush to Hai for AMAZING sushi. First, let's discuss what my gripe has been with Nashville's sushi scene. Yes, I understand that technically sushi is a method of preparation - fresh ingredients combined for a unique taste and presented with rice and seaweed in a roll or atop a nugget of rice. That's where I think my agreement with much of the NashVegas sushi ends. So much of what you get here is crunchy this, fried that, eel sauce nonsense and a real shortage of clean, fresh fish. At that tune, it ends up feeling like a heavy burger night feast, instead of a light, fresh indulgence. Enter Hai. This spot is in an unassuming location on 8th Ave next to a Las Palmas (?) and Kroger. Don't let the strip mall fool you. This place is legit. I sat at the bar and started with a miso soup - fine, not hard to mess up. Then I advanced to some nigiri - ummm, hello fresh fish! The Maguro and Hamachi were expertly cut, perfect temperature and delectable. The spicy tuna roll was delicious. But the pièce de résistance? Their special Holiday Roll blew my mind. Fresh tuna, salmon and super white, with daikon, greens and a tatrt-spicy ponzu sauce wrapped in soy paper and served atop thin slices of cucumber with extra daikon. I mean...if you want that light and crisp combo of flavors and textures, look no further than this masterpiece. Now, for the skiddish, there are still crunchy rolls, there is still eel sauce, there are still California rolls. I am told their phô and other options are great. But let this be the place to experiment, because it's THAT good. Sometimes people review a restaurant and begin with "I hesitate to let everyone know about this..." because they want to keep their secret spot special and unadulterated. Forget that noise - fill this place up, people! Make it the most coveted sushi bar in town. The talent and freshness deserve the business!

Richard N.

Yelp
Rarely one restaurant can excel both in Japanese AND Vietnamese dishes. Hai's is one of those rare ones. The sushi is top grade that would rival top Japanese restaurants. Certain the likes of Virago don't even come close. The Pho is awesome! It tastes great AND has incredible aroma! They also offer the more rare noodle soup dish Hu Tieu. It is also delicious! The staff is super friendly and the price is right. Go and have a great time with your friends or make new friends. -------- Came back with wifey. She loved it! We had yellowtail in ponsu for appetizer then Pho and Hu Tieu. Then I had scallop for "dessert" (pic in large plate). As a treat, Hai made a special dish of yellowtail version of Pork Belly (pic)...fantastic! I travel to the Bay Area regularly and to Asia occasionally for work. I must say that their noodle soups and sushi are as good as any local neighborhood favorites in those places. The menu choices certainly appeal to a wide range of preferences from Southeast Asian to Japanese. I strongly recommend it. Enjoy while you can. In a few months, he will be packed.

McKenzie S.

Yelp
3.5 I've had my eye on Hai's Sushi & Pho ever since they opened and we finally made it out here on a Sunday night. It's located in a chain of restaurants next to Kroger. The building seems very new and the interior is very interesting for a Japanese/Vietnamese restaurant. The front part looks like a traditional sushi restaurant but then the back porch area feels more like a place for a burger or BBQ. It's very log cabiny. I don't hold this against them, it's just an interesting atmosphere. Parking is no problem which is always a plus. We walked in and were told to seat ourselves. We chose to sit in the side area and were greeted shortly after with menus. There is a good mix of Japanese sushi and Vietnamese classics on the menu. We came for the pho so we didn't check out the other options too much. The pho is $8.50 and then an additional charge for different kinds of meat. I added beef to mine for $1.50 and my boyfriend added beef and beef tendon. So in the end the pho comes to about $10-12. My boyfriend skimmed the sushi menu and said it looked pretty good. We also ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer ($4.50). The server was very friendly and our spring rolls were out in no time. You get 2 rolls and they are stuffed to the max. Fresh vegetables with shrimp and pork and then a peanut dipping sauce. From the first bite I could tell the ingredients were fresh and there was a nice variety of flavor. The dipping sauce was excellent and we chowed them down in no time. A great way to start the meal. Our pho was out soon after we had finished our rolls. I was a little surprised by the size. It was on the smaller side based on my past experiences with pho. I guess I am used to huge bowls but maybe I'm basing it too much off of my experiences in Asia. I had the beef broth with my pho and it was good. A little on the sweet side but once I got some cilantro in my spoonfuls it was a nice flavor. The beef was really good. I easily finished the whole bowl which I'm not sure if I've ever done with pho. I was content which I guess is maybe how it should be instead of stuffing myself until I go into a food coma. I think I would go back to try some of the other stuff on the menu. I'm not sure I would need to order the pho again, especially when pho places are popping up everywhere in Nashville. I liked that the ingredients all seemed very fresh and I knew I was getting a quality meal. The price point isn't too bad. Overall, a nice experience!

Lyna M.

Yelp
I am so glad we came here. They only been open for three weeks so its fairly new. We ordered the Melrose sushi and veg eggrolls and it was really good. I don't usually like veg eggrolls but theirs was full of flavor. And I liked that they had the option of chicken or beef broth for the pho. The pho was for real delicious. I barely added anything to mine. It was full of bold flavors. And the service was great too. We will definitely come back!!! If you come here you will not be disappointed.

Shaun S.

Yelp
3.5. I would definitely stop in if I am in the neighborhood. The sushi here was excellent. If I make a special trip for Phó it would be to the Phó part of town. There was a 3.5 reviewer who said the broth lacked a bold flavor and another who gave it 5 stars for it's rich flavor. I tend to agree with the former. There's something missing that, if I had to guess, seems like the bones did not spend enough time being boiled. The flavor satchel was complete but for me the broth makes the pho. Maybe this is how it's supposed to taste in fancy restaurants (and similar to the pricey place up the street) but I acquired my taste from home made and the pioneers on Charlotte. The staff is very cordial and attentive. Huge free parking lot (in a strip center next to Kroger). Fast WiFi. Variety of seating options.

Yelp
3.5 stars Beef pho soup was lacking that bold flavor. It was plain beef broth flavor. Didn't have all the condiments seasoning for our pho that I was used to having compared to other pho restaurants. Everyone has different preferences but this pho didn't do justice for me. Maybe I'll be back for sushi instead. Service was friendly and fast. Entrance door is to the right behind the bushes. Everyone made the mistake walking to the left because that is the first door we see. Lots of seating and tables for a group if needed for a big party.

Yelp
Staff was very pleasant and we were greeted immediately. The entry way is tight with the sushi bar and a few tables. Past the entry way there is another room with plenty of seating. The tables and chairs however are metal and have a patio type feel. It's not very comfortable when trying to sit up to eat because the seats have a slight dip toward the back of the chair. They DO have booths also, so that solves that problem. Food: Our first visit who ordered pho, udon noodles, and hu tieu. All of which were highly anticipated but sadly were disappointing. The flavors were lacking in all the soup dishes, one too salty, the broth too sweet, and the other little to no flavor. This place is so close to my office and the staff were so great that we gave them a second shot a few weeks later. This time ordering their specialty, sushi. And I must say, the sushi added the additional two stars for me. It was fresh, flavorful, and filling.

Yelp
I came with a group of friends tonight with high expectations because of the good yelp reviews, and we left disappointed. The only menu items we ordered were spring rolls, pho, and Thai bubble tea, so I can't speak for their sushi. Thai bubble tea had whipped cream on top, which was unexpected (in a not so great way). Spring rolls were average. I was not a huge fan of their pho. When ordering you choose either chicken or beef broth, and the base price of $8.50 includes no meat. Meat is extra and the price depends on what you choose. I was disappointed by how little beef there was in my pho, especially since you are paying extra for it. I was also not a huge fan of their broth. It had some sort of autumnal spice in it that just made for a weird after taste. They also use red onion instead of white onion. The service was also slow, especially since we were some of the only customers at the restaurant. Our waitress was quick to bring drinks and take our order, but it took a very long time for our appetizer to come out. Overall, you can find better tasting pho for a cheaper price.

Yelp
I was excited when i saw a Japanese/Vietnamese move into an area close to where I work. So today for lunch i decided to check it out with a colleague. The decor was cozy with a 4-5 seat sushi bar and a couple of tables in the entrance area. They had a back dining room also. The servers were nice and attentive upon entering, but there were 2 servers and 3 tables with people at them including us so it was to be expected. I ordered the Com Dac Biet ( Special Rice Combination) and my colleague ordered the pho ( thats why I brought her so i didnt have to order pho myself!) My plate was good for what it was. There was a decent mound of rice topped with a small pork chop and 2 shrimp. On the side was a big piece of lettuce with two tomato slices and 4 cucumber slices. The pork chop was seasoned well and very tender and juicy. The shrimp were cooked well and the rice was jusy your average fried rice( although the rice gets points for not being greasy). The "salad"made no sense with the dish. It didnt add to the dish but made the dish cumbersome to eat. The beef pho broth was your average broth. Flavor was lacking until sriracha was added. The veggies were fresh and the beef flank yhay was ordered with it was tender. A decent bowl of pho but nothing to write home about. I also got the Ramune Pineapple Soda. Im not an avid soda drinker but this was good. All in all a good quick meal for lunch. It doesnt set itself apart from any other Vietnamese food i have had in the area, but i will be back to try the sushi.

Yelp
We went here for lunch yesterday. Kids had sushi. My 4 year old son had their salmon salad roll. It's a cucumber wrapped roll. He inhaled the entire thing including the radish garnish The girls (6 and 10) had tamago nigiri, kani nigiri, maguro maki and sake maki. They really liked all of it. It was really nice to see how they shared everything. My wife had yellowtail sunomono. Their version is more like an Italian carpaccio with ponzu sauce. Very delicious. I had Hu Tieu for the first time. Nice comfort food. It comes with two quail eggs and is very yummy. I added some chili oil. It will warm you up on a cold fall day. Very nice staff.

Yelp
My favorite sushi place in town! I am a huge sushi fiend, I probably eat sushi 4-5 times a week and this is my go-to place. Yes, it is down the street from me so connivence plays a factor, however, the quality of sushi is great as well. My go-to's are a salmon hand roll, green dragon, rainbow roll and the lovely roll! Highly suggest all of them. Hai is friendly and great at what he does, you will usually see him behind the sushi bar. Go check out this place out and support a local business.

Yelp
I was in Nashville on a trip and woke up craving Asian soup - maybe pho maybe udon? I was by myself and tried out Hai's on a Sunday afternoon. Even though there went many diners (I arrived right when they opened) I was seated in the small sushi bar area and loved it. The service was great and the server was really interested in helping make good choices. The Hai Teu soup was incredible- pork, veggies, quail eggs, etc. I added some spice and a cold beer in a frosted mug.....heaven! And relatively inexpensive....if you're traveling by yourself it's a great place to go!

Yelp
Hai and crew are friendly and welcoming. I dropped by today for a to-go order. It's a great experience to see a professional prepare sashimi, sushi rolls, and even whip up a fresh batch of wasabi. I highly recommend the hand rolled spicy scallop, escolar nigiri, and rainbow roll. I know that escolar isn't necessarily good in higher quantity, but, oh my!... the buttery taste and silky texture is incredible. Sushi restaurants are something to be particular about... this place has my trust. Hmmm... as I finish this review, I'm prompted to add a photo. No can do. It's been devoured.

Yelp
I just recently finished going to the Nashville Roller Derby and I was looking for a spot for sushi. I was completely intrigued when I found out about the place having Vietnamese options. The place is easy to find and right on the corner of the lot. Inside it's very welcoming and they kept to the culture which I really liked. I got the spicy edamame, happy roll and sweet and sour soup. My friend got the spring rolls with chicken and chicken pho. Together we shared hot sake which is always a plus. We went around 7ish and there was a couple in there eating. It wasn't packed at all.

Yelp
Sushi was not fresh, not much flavor or effort put into the making of the sushi. Staff was smoking out front and waiter was not very attentive. ‍

Yelp
Great food and great service! Fish was fresh and melted in your mouth. It definitely is off the beaten path but completely worth it.
