Hakone Gora Park

A lovely little park—small but charming. Although it’s already winter and most of the flowers and trees are dormant, I can imagine the garden looking even more beautiful in spring and summer. That said, even in winter, the park still has its own appeal. The fountain is elegant, and there are plenty of cute and picturesque corners to explore. It was a peaceful and enjoyable walk, and I appreciated its quiet beauty despite the season.

¥650 to enter but your ticket lasts all day long with reentry. The park is small but there are a lot of things to do and see. The spring flowers were not ready yet so there wasn’t much to see. The view of the mountain is wonderful as well. Lots of bathrooms, shops, a cafe, vending machines and coin lockers to store your personal belongings.

Beautiful and Relaxing Oasis in Hakone Hakone Gōra Park is a stunningly beautiful, tranquil park nestled in the hills of Hakone. The park's elevated location provides some great views of the surrounding mountains, making it an ideal spot for photographers or anyone wanting to take in the natural beauty of Hakone. Highly recommended for a peaceful escape! (Note: The park is on a hill, so be prepared for some uphill walking, but it's well worth it!)

Well worth the hike. Peaceful and relaxing. Could have spent all day here. Has craft classes (glass blowing and pottery), a tea house, souvenir shop and impressive greenhouse (loved the Totoro tunnel). The gardens and park itself are absolutely beautiful. Thank you for having us

This park is awesome. It was a rainy day in Hakone, but we went anyway. Was not disappointed. Cheap reasonable price to get in. Plenty of green houses with an awesome variety of plants to see. Gotta keep your eyes open because there's neat plants tucked everywhere. The grounds were beautiful. Paths all around. A mix between beautiful natural mountain stone and more modern accommodating ways. The tea house with ceremony was like it's own little park. The experience was nice and came with a nice little personal tour of all the houses and bath. I would highly recommend attending this park. We went in March, so not as much going on outdoors but, I can only imagine how beautiful it is in bloom with it's extensive rose gardens and wide variety of other native fauna. We did not do any experiences, but the craft house is neat. Plenty of beautiful art pieces to purchase and we couldn't help but do so. The experiences looked fun and well set up. Kinda feel like we missed out but that was our decision. Keep note of the timing to receive your works, all clearly labeled. Most are day of, but some like ceramics and glass take time for proper completion.

This garden was lovely even in the rain. Recommend checking out the tea house for a traditional tea ceremony which was cool.

Wonderful quiet park with amazing views of hakone. Stones throw to the trains and to the craft house which is a must go to

It was raining heavily when I went but still very beautiful. An uphill garden with spaces to explore, sit, a fountain and 2 cafes. There is also a craft house which sells handmade products some of which you can try for yourself. If the weather had been nicer and I'd had more time I could have spent several hours just wandering around. Technically you have to pay to get it but it's not expensive and if you have a Hakone pass it's free.

We drove a car here and parked next to the entrance for 300 yen. The entrance is 550 yen for adults and free to kids under 12. The park had several cherry blossom trees, if you come during the season. There was also a lovely fountain, cute little gift shop, and an ice cream shop too. I opted not to bring strollers in because there were quite a bit of steps. And not all steps are the same height, so be careful. Good for a nice quick stroll. We only spent an hour here, and we walked very slowly.

Gora Park is a nice, but small scenic endeavor. It's got tea houses, a craft shop, and a mini insect zoo. Nothing too special. It's a 10 minute walk from Gora station and even closer if you take the Hakone Tozan Cablecar to Koenshimo station.

We did this as part of our Hakone day, which included going to the Hakone Open Air Museum, Gora Park, Owakudani, and Lake Ashi. I'm glad I came here, but we were also racing to make it to Lake Ashi in time (the last train, gondola and ship really comes at you fast) so if you also decide to stuff your day itinerary, plan to spend a little less time here. It could probably be done in an hour or less. I liked the greenhouse, the gift shop, and the rose garden. Came here in November 2016, so there were less blooms - I could see this place being much more beautiful in the spring. Perhaps the best thing about this stop was that there are several restaurants lining the park to choose from - great place for a lunch before continuing on your Hakone day.
