I’m beyond satisfied to be honest! I tried the wagyu lollipop with a side of sausage, and the chili which comes with a side of cornbread. The cashier was very friendly and suggestive in explaining the menu as I was lost between the available options. The prepping time did not take too long, and market seating area was chill, but I had it take away. The seasoning and level of smokiness the lollipop had just exploded from the first bite, it was absolutely phenomenal and very well done!! The sausage, chili, and cornbread were all really delicious too, but the lollipop took the cake for me! I hope they stay on the menu for good! It wasn’t the easiest for me to navigate and get to the restaurant through the Ballston Quarter Mall, but I’m glad I managed to make it. Worth every step 😂

Our first visit to their bbq location was a delightful experience, with exceptional service and a vibrant atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of options, though we were disappointed that the Dino ribs were unavailable. The brisket, ordered by the pound, was a standout—tender, juicy, and practically melting in your mouth. The brisket sandwich was equally impressive, bursting with flavor and perfectly tender. The platters, featuring sausage and jalapeño cheddar bread, were delicious additions. The beef tallow fries were a unique highlight, crispy and unforgettable. However, the chicken wings were a bit too salty, and the mesquite chicken by the pound had an unappealing flavor and aroma that fell short. On a refreshing note, we loved the inclusion of Palestina sodas among the drink options. Overall, a great spot we’d happily revisit!

Tried their angus brisket sandwich! The meat had the right amount of seasoning so could still get the taste of it, rub was not over powering. Very juicy. Loved it. HALAL!

If you’re serious about BBQ, Hal and Al’s needs to be at the top of your list. I came in with high expectations, and somehow the brisket still blew me away. It’s exactly what brisket should be — tender, juicy, and packed with deep smoky flavor that tells you they know exactly what they’re doing. The bark on the brisket was perfect — that slightly crispy, seasoned outside that gives way to the softest, melt-in-your-mouth beef you can imagine. Every bite was just loaded with flavor, and it wasn’t dry or overly fatty like you sometimes find elsewhere. You could taste the care and time that went into making it right. Beyond the food, the whole vibe of Hal and Al’s was just spot-on. Laid-back, welcoming, and you can tell the people working there are passionate about what they serve. It’s the kind of place where you sit down for a meal and end up staying a little longer just because it feels like home.

Amazing food, had the brisket sandwich meal and it was phenomenal! The Mac and cheese and cornbread really rounded out the meal. The way you squeeze out sauces as if you’re milking a cow was another cool twist. Can’t wait to try the Dino rib next time.

Best brisket / bbq place I have ever been. All the food tastes super high quality and the meat is incredibly juicy. I like the location of it but it could use some more seating. Please try the wagyu trimmings burger.

Hal and Al’s is the real deal. I ordered the ribs and they were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had fall off the bone tender, perfectly smoky, and packed with flavor in every bite. You can tell they take their time and do it right. The staff was super friendly, the vibe was laid-back, and the whole place just felt like a spot you want to keep coming back to. If you’re anywhere near here, do yourself a favor and get the ribs. You won’t regret it.

I would say I am a big time meat lover knows a lot about meat and if they are cooked perfectly or not or the way it should taste it or not and I am gonna say it is one the best place Ive been to. Hold on a second for the whole story 😅 so I ordered their prime ribs (Dino Ribs) with their Wagyus meat Chilli with mac&c on side and they were all amazing. I have tried fresh meat a lot right after gutting an animal and slow cook that meat and let me tell it taste exactly the same! So yeah these people are doing good things there highly recommended for meat lovers!
