Halal Chicks and Platters

Great food. Definitely the type of place that hits the spot after a long day. The sauces are the star and the falafel was done fresh. Rice was flavorful and vegetables were glowing with wet flavor. Hearty portions and great team behind the counter. Simple establishment how it’s meant to be. Will be back for more

This is it. This is the order. 10/10 recommend, the best thing for late night cravings...hits the spot every time. Chicky & fries and get it with curly fries if you're feeling wild. I also like the lamb and rice with the green sauce. Easily one of the best halal spots in UWS

I had high hopes for the spot as the reviews were good. Unfortunately, this is probably the worst Halal food that I’ve had in the city. First to start off with the quality of the food, we ordered for chicken over rice plates. In every single plates, there were many pieces of inedible chicken. This is extremely disappointing as this has never occurred at any other Halal spot before. Second, and one of the plates there was something solid, which later turned out to be a piece of plastic. Again, this is quite disappointing and a sign of a lack of quality/inspection. Third, for the price of the place, they greatly skimp you on the meat. The plates consisted of 60% Rice, 20% salad, 15% fries, and 5% chicken. Add almost any other Halal spot, the meat covers the dish, however, here you get almost none. The restaurant does try to attempt to cover this by flooding the dish in sauces. Unfortunately, the sauces do not taste good. The white sauce is lacking greatly in flavor, and the red sauce has a nonexistent spice. I do not recommend the spot as it left a lot to be desired.

maybe it happy by accident but you guys charged me for triple cheeseburger when I clearly asked for double, eventually giving me double cheeseburger. Feel duped. Still gave 5 stars since food was worth it. Intended to come back and not get fooled again. Generous amount of fries appreciated.

Extremely dirty and very inconsistent. I’ve watched the quality of this place decline since they first opened. When they first opened, the food and overall experience were actually pretty good. Over time it’s just gone downhill. Not sure if management changed or if they just got too comfortable or maybe they can’t handle the busy flow. Last night I placed an order over the phone so it would be ready for pickup. When I got there, I still ended up waiting another 15 minutes only to find out the kitchen never even started the order when I asked when it’ll be ready. Mistakes happen, I get that. What bothered me more was the way it was handled and the attitude around it. They started gaslighting me saying I didn’t speak to them and maybe I called the wrong location… On top of that, the cleanliness was honestly shocking. The cashier was wearing a visibly filthy shirt, blew his nose, and then immediately grabbed fries from the kitchen and passed them to the plating area. Watching that happen completely turned me off from this place. Between the decline in quality, the disorganization, and the lack of basic cleanliness, it just isn’t worth it anymore. They lost a customer.

10/10. Favorite take out spot in the area. Been coming here for the past year 💪

Do not underestimate this place they give A LOT of food. Everything has been fresh, seasoned well and the place is extremely popular. One of the best establishments that have been added to the area and is now one of my go to. Highly recommend trying this spot you won’t regret it!

I got chicken over rice for $12 hands down best deal I’ve had in all of NYC as a foodie. It was my first time experiencing halal food so I asked bunch of questions to the guys at the line and they were very chill; they described all the toppings that I pointed to and gave me a GENEROUS PORTION. Chicken was well seasoned and tender, rice was also seasoned and chickpeas and hummus were decently fresh; everything tasted good even on the next day. This fed me for easily two days! It was truly amazing that I can get chicken,rice,fries(shocking for me) and veggie of choice for only $12 was so impressive. I’m definitely going back.
