Halal Chinese Beef Noodles (Da'an)

"For his restaurant with over 60 years of history, the owner insists on using only Taiwanese beef that has never been frozen for the best flavour and texture. The beef stock is simmered all day to develop deep flavours without any greasiness. Apart from their signature braised beef noodle soup, also try fried-to-order flatbread, which is stuffed with stir-fried shredded beef. The beef jerky is also good but is only available in strictly limited quantity." - Michelin Inspector

Google
Definitely a famous spot for beef noodles. They use only Taiwan beef so the flavor is different and unique. Both the spicy broth and clear broth is very good. Portions are good and prices seems reasonable. There are a few dishes I look forward to trying on my next trip. Reminder to arrive early because lines get very long. I also see many takeout Unfortunately some of the dishes we ordered took a long time to be served to us. So we couldn’t really enjoy all our dishes.

They serve halal beef noodles and paratha pancakes here. The taste is just okay. The pancake is pretty basic compared to the flaky Jay Chow Liang scallion pancake. It’s chewy and a bit rubbery. The sliced beef side dish was also just okay, with only a hint of soy sauce and not much in terms of spices. Honestly, I feel bad for the Taiwanese if places like this win Michelin awards every year. It really says something about the culinary standards in Taipei. Make sure to grab a few small plates of vegetable side dishes from the rack. You won’t regret it, unless you hate vegetables. No complaints about the beef noodles though — they’re pretty much what you’d expect from a standard beef noodle spot around Taipei. Just a heads-up: check their opening hours and come early, because seats are limited and the line gets long fast. Oh one more thing, they don’t accept credit card, luckily there’s an ATM machine nearby.

Went to Taiwan last week with my friends and one of the food highlights was definitely the Halal Beef Noodles in Daan, a Michelin-recognized spot! We had to queue for a bit (a sign it’s worth it), and once we got in, the menu was all in Mandarin — no English! But the staff was super helpful and recommended a few dishes. We just trusted them and went with it — no regrets. The beef noodles were amazing — chunky cuts of tender beef, rich and flavorful broth, and the portion was huge! Perfect after a long day of exploring. Totally understand why they’ve earned a Michelin nod. If you’re ever in Taipei and looking for halal options, this place is a must-try!

Google
Easygoing place with many locals. Good food, especially the noodles. A bit noisy but is ok. Perhaps not easy to find on first try, but worth the effort.

I've tried many Michelin rated restaurants and this is by far the best one. I got the beef noodles. It's a little spicy but so good. Get some chapati as well with a side of beef. Really nice.

Google
Excellent beef noodles. We really enjoyed everything! They also make crepes that you can combine with stir fried beef! We had to queue for 20 min or so but it was for sure worth it!

Google
This is my favorite spot to get beef noodles! Been coming to this spot since I was a kid. Taste hasn't changed at all! The crepe is so good... I love to put the pineapple mayonnaise shrimp inside of the crepe! Not many people eat it like this but trust me... It's bomb AF!!! Must try this place, highly recommend.

I visited this Halal food place during my trip to Taipei. It seemed to be a popular place for locals as well as visitors. We placed an order for the beef noodles. The noodles itself were perfect in texture and thick. The meat pieces were tender and tasty and the broth itself was great too. I added my own spice to my liking. We also had the beef strips along with the bread and salad. Slightly more chewy but delicious. Taste was good. You can also drink tea as much as you like and it does very well with the food. Upon my arrival I was told to sit on a shared circle table by the lady at the door. I kindly asked if I could wait for another table to be free so the two of us could be sat together I proceeded to sit by the door in the waiting space. She rudely told me to get out and wait outside. Very unprovoked and unprofessional. I obliged and stepped outside. I then seen other local customers walk in and they were permitted to sit at other empty tables. Eventually I sat waiting inside refusing to be treated in this manner. Her attitude was unfortunately awful despite no provocation from my side. If the management could offer her some advice it would be appreciated. She was the tall one who also sits at the cashier and seats the guests at the tables. Some kindness and a smile could go a long way in life. Despite this, the food is great and I'd visit again to eat here and hopefully be treated better. Thank you

Yelp
Great hole in the wall place. Very flavourful beef noodle soup. The tendon has great texture. It is still chewy but is tender enough. The beef is really tender and flavourful. The default 紅燒 spicy soup on my first bite I thought it was way too spicy but maybe I just had a bite concentrated in chili. They made their own bread which is pretty good also. Also had some other side dishes which were decent too. Dou Miao, and egg covered veggies including bean sprouts.

Yelp
Solid beef noodle soup spot with a flavorful broth and chewy noodles. I also enjoyed the self-serve side dishes they provided! You have the option to get half tendon and half meat, and I found the meat to be flavorful and tender. Depending on the time of day, be prepared to wait.

Yelp
Second time here and the beef noodle soup was just as good as the last time. I came with a group and had the opportunity to try more things this time around. Fortunately got to try the bing paired with the hoisin pork strips. Wow the bing is really good and is something I will be thinking about long after my meal.

Yelp
Quality of food is excellent. Service is a bit less than desired: inpatient and not very responsive, especially when it is busy. It is a good place to go to have a quick bit. Not a place for relaxed gatherings.

Yelp
If you like beef. This place is the top 10 in Taipei city. HALAL certified. For muslims this is a good place to enjoy their meals. Beef soup. With noodles. The thin crepe ( similar to the Malaysian Popiah ). Fresh made from the dough are just fantastic side dish. I will come back here again!

Yelp
There was a line to get in there. The wait was approximately 30 minutes but the food was well with the wait. When we left the line was still the same as people kept coming. Can't go wrong with halal chinese at this place in Taipei

Yelp
I had read about this halal beef noodle soup on some lists, so we came to try it out. Service was quick. We got: - Signature beef noodle soup: we went with the 紅燒 (darker broth one). It was under salted, and it was super oily (there was a thick layer of oil on top). It's probably one of the fattiest beef noodle soup broths that I've had. However, the noodle texture was really good - Pancake: good texture , used to wrap the beef - Stir fried beef strips: another signature dish; a bit greasy, served on scallions It ended up being around NT600, which is on the more expensive side for this kind of food. The only thing I would consider getting again is the thin pancake. The noodle texture was pretty good, but the beef broth was just too oily. Warning: toilets are squatters.

Yelp
It's a halal place, which makes it quite unique as I don't think there are any when it comes to beef noodle soups in Taipei (and Taiwan, tbh). You can tell that the cuts of meat are tender and good quality. The noodles were of chewy consistency, which I appreciate when I'm eating any noodle based dishes. It's a decent sized place and it didn't feel too crowded, which sometimes can happen if the place is way too popular or just too small. Service is meh, but what can your expect from a local shop - though the lady was a little bit mean to my friend, which was a bit of a bummer. Overall, my friends and I enjoy the meal and I'd come again if it was with a group of people (though it is a bit far from where I live).

Yelp
The beef noodles were outstanding. Lots of that yummy hot red oil and spices floating at the top. And you can taste the homemade TLC that went into the noodles. We had two sides that I cannot remember the names of in Chinese, please forgive me. One was a very thin, hot bread folded over several times. The other was snow peas cooked in this flavorful, almost buttery oil.

Yelp
I went a second time last Friday and tried different things on the menu. This time I had the clear beef noodle soup (清燉 clear broth), and Peking style stir-fried beef (京醬牛肉絲beef shred with green onion) with wrap(斤餅 tortilla-like). The wrap is one of the most popular dishes here. One can order other fillings than the one I had. But the Peking style beef is a classic combo with the wrap. They go together extremely well. The beef very tender and flavorful. It was a bit on the sweet side, but once wrapped with the 斤餅 tortilla, it all started to make sense on every chew. A must-try! Lastly, the clear beef noodle soup: The clear broth was quite refreshing, flavorful with just right amount of Chinese herb accents. Noodle diluted the flavorful soup marginally. I recommend ordering just the soup without the noodle. The beef on the other hand was cut in thin slices but too hard for my taste.

Yelp
Came here since my son wanted to goto Ice Monster. We had both the specialty spicy braised beef noodle soup and the clear broth beef noodle soup. Both soups were pretty flavorful. I like the noodles the best they were a perfect chewiness. The best thing from this restaurant is their pancake. Reminded us of an Indian naan but more chewy than flakey.

Yelp
Amazing spot. And it is halal! The inside is also nice. We got beef noodles and dumplings. A little pricey but definitely worth it

Yelp
One of my favorite beef noodle soup places! I highly recommend the spicy (紅燒) broth. Even my friend who usually likes the clear broth loved the spicy broth here. The tortilla-like pancakes (斤餅) are AMAZING here. Sometimes, I forgo the noodles (which are really good, very "qq") for the amazing tortilla-like creations. Both the Beijing beef (京醬肉絲) and the vegetables covered by egg (合菜戴帽) are good fillings for the wraps. I also enjoy the sides here. It can get crowded at times, so be ready to share a table with other people.

Yelp
A good place for beef noodle. Higgly recommend for people who obly eat halal. The portion is a good size too. Their home made bread is also great to try.
