"This Greenville Ave. spot is usually loaded up with laptop warriors sipping on coffee, so rest assured that it won’t be loud and everyone is well-versed on the etiquette of co-working. It also serves some of the best coffee (and cocktails, when the afternoon drags on) around." - Courtney E. Smith

"Leave it to a coffee shop to make a great espresso martini. It’s classic includes options to make it lavender, orange, or chocolate, or opt for the Voodoo Lady, which combines rum and coffee liquor with a hot or cold chai for something a little different. And the Long Island Iced Coffee is dangerous." - Courtney E. Smith, Rachel Pinn

Yelp
Halcyon is one of my favorite places to go when I want a chill friday or saturday afternoon. Espresso martini in hand, and board games or trivia on deck. If you're looking for a place to WFH, this is it-- grab yourself a coffee (or cocktail idc) and know there's plenty of seating + plugs to get you to that 9am Zoom / Teams / Slack huddle meeting

Yelp
If you are looking for a good brunch or coffeehouse then Halcyon should be on your list if you are in the northeast suburbs of Dallas, Texas. We ordered their Elvis French Toast, Vegan Skillet, Vegetarian Skillet, and a 7 Choice Skillet. Everything was fresh and delicious. The toast is sour dough and comes with house made jam. I would also suggest ordering their mocha latte w/ Oat Milk too with the meal (very good). We arrived 10:30 am on a Sunday but the wait was minimal (20 minutes). Parking can be a challenge but not horrendous. I would suggest you come earlier than 10:30 am. Ambience is nice with seating inside and out. Kid friendly and dog friendly for the outdoor seating area. Cost is good and portion are good enough. You might want to order more if you are a big eater or very hungry (thus the 4 Stars).

Yelp
Hubby and I are of differing opinions on this one but here goes. We went for Sunday brunch, checked in online so were sat immediately. Nice plus. I ordered the mimosa flight so maybe my jovial mood improved the food but I loved mine. The mango chili lime mimosa is amazing. Ambiance was nice.

Yelp
Bright and airy coffee shop with quick counter service and plenty of seating. The grilled cheese was yummy.

Yelp
Such great brunch and amazing cocktails! I can't believe I slept on this place for so long. It looks like a good spot for drinks or dinner too. It's so cute on the inside, really spacious but somehow cozy/inviting and the service was awesome.

Alex B.

Yelp
Cute breakfast joint! A good amount of vegan options available and even says vegan friendly on the door. The food was pretty good and the price was about what I'd expect. They have an assortment of baked goods and one of the options was vegan as well and had gluten free options available too.

Marla C.

Yelp
Omg I just came for the mimosa flight but left having so much more. I can't wait to go back. There is plenty of seating. Parking, doable, because there is a parking lot across the street, but it is shared with another restaurant, so you may have to park on the street. I came here specifically for the mimosa flight because my friend had tried it and told me how tasty they were. You can choose up to 4 different types of mimosas, and they have a large variety to try. I tried the thai basil, the apple cinnamon, mango chili lime, and the lemon lavender. My favorites were the apple cinnamon and the mango chili lime. I wasn't planning on getting anything to eat, or I wanted to eat something really light, but they didn't have oatmeal or anything like that. So, of course, the only option was to get beignets because that's a healthy breakfast of champions. Four come in an order, and you can add chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, or caramel sauce. But when I ordered food, of course, my daughter wanted to order food too. She got the chocolate chip pancakes and a side of bacon. And because I'm on her mother and wanted to make sure that she wasn't poisoned, I had to taste the bacon, and it was perfectly cooked. I was really hoping that she did not want all of it, but she devoured it, so I only got a taste. I will definitely come here again so I can try more food options and probably get more beignets and mimosa flights. They were not the traditional beignets. They were flaky, but they were so good!

Yelp
Fried Egg Sandwich Just a very ordinary fried egg sandwich. Kind of thin and not that filling. Potatoes were good. Affordable, but I probably wouldn't order this again.

Jess M.

Yelp
The strawberry jam here is amazing! This was one of the only brunch spots we've been to that everyone liked their meal. I had the veggie skillet and I have to say - the goat cheese was tangy and very fresh. Lovely little meal after the arboretum. The lemon lavender mimosa was everyone's favorite. Very zippy and refreshing!

Yelp
Popped in to meet a friend for lunch on a Thursday after noon and I must say, I've been missing out. I've driven by this place numerous times just didn't know what I have been missing!! So there is free parking behind Val's cheesecake - don't let this be the reason you don't go - and the menu isn't just coffee and baked good that you would get at other shops. They have a diverse menu and if I must say, Matt whips up a pretty damn good drink. You order at the counter, pick up your own drink from the bar and seat yourself . . . Basically what I'm telling you is there isn't a waiter coming over every five minutes asking can they get you anything else. This is like the coffee shop where you can relax, hang out and drink because the zoom meeting lasted longer than it needed to. I had the chicken biscuit which had a little spice a little sweet and was just enough. I washed that down with mimosa flight - which I was surprised with the options and all were yummy! However I stayed long enough to also indulge in an Irish coffee - which had a nice kick to it. I'll definitely be back and look forward to bringing more folks with me.

Yelp
I came here for a few hours to wfh. There's a crowd of people here between the late morning/early afternoon (visited on a Friday). People do start to head out after 11:30 am so it's easier to find a table with charging ports. The music is loud so if you come here to work and take meetings, be mindful! My coffee order ran me ($8+). Iced latte with macadamia nut, white chocolate and oat milk. Pretty pricey compared to other coffee shops. They do offer a variety of food, but I didn't get a chance to try their items during my visit. Bathrooms are clean which is a plus!! I saw that they host events here so I will definitely come back. Nice cafe in the area.

Yelp
Came to this place for first time! It has quite vibes, but very nice for place to study, read and nice casual hangout too. Lot of options food and snacks which is great too see! The service was decent too, and made delicious drinks as well. I enjoy it very much.

Yelp
This is the easiest review I've ever had to make. I went to have breakfast with my wonderful girlfriend who recommended Halcyon and their breakfast. She says everything I would say, only better! "My boyfriend and I decided to have a breakfast date one morning, and we decided to have breakfast at Halcyon! I've always loved their breakfast so I was excited to go. The baristas that greeted me when I first got there were so kind and upbeat! They really make you feel welcomed and had good recommendations. I started out with a London Fog and he got a seasonal latte (honey, jasmine maybe?) and we loved our drinks! They even completed it by letting me take animal crackers to go with my tea. For food, we split the Fried Egg Sandwich and it was amazing! The sandwich was huge and was perfect for feeding 2 people. Adding avocado was definitely worth it! It also came with campfire potatoes which were seasoned nicely and were delicious! (It's my favorite thing about breakfast here). My boyfriend ate one potato piece and I kid you not immediately decided we would need more, so he went and ordered another side! Delicious. Overall, it was a great experience in a beautiful space. We will be back!" My drink was the Jasmine Delight (honey, jasmine, and oatmilk). It's seasonal and will be gone by the end of the month so hurry to Halcyon to try it (it's SOO good!!)

Tiffany J.

Yelp
I got the classic skillet which was super delicious and full of flavor! I didn't love the jam and didn't think it tasted homemade. The coffee was also great! Service was fast and ambiance was nice. It's a pretty big open space and has a young college vibe

Yelp
When my group chose this place for brunch, I did think about the parking and if it would be an issue. There is a parking lot next to the restaurant, just be aware, towards the breakfast/lunch hour, parking can be tricky. Thankfully, I have a smaller car, so I was able to squeeze into a spot in the parking lot. Upon walking in, you're greeted by the openness and a cute little bar. The seating at the bar reminded of me of the old school ice cream shop counters, it was really cute. They had a section for those who wanted more of the coffee house feel, and they had little stations where you could work and eat/drink. I was there with a group for brunch, our waiter was efficient and friendly. He was wonderful with making selections, to help with deciding what I wanted to eat. Elvis French Toast: Amazing! The perfect amount of peanut butter, bananas, bacon, and a drizzle of syrup. If you're a French toast type of person, may I suggest this, it is delicious. Mango Chili Mimosa: This was also very good, and very well made. The bar tender did not skimp on the alcohol, that's for sure. As we were paying our tickets, they had our totals on a tablet. Always ask for a receipt before paying your bill. I'll take this loss, because I did not ask for those things before paying. What I purchased should have cost $20, but instead he gave me the total of $35. I was in the middle of talking and doing other things, I just paid it. I did ask what was on my bill and it should have been $20, not including the gratuity. He left, then came back and said it was adjusted, but it wasn't. He overcharged me by $10, outside of my bill and gratuity. I ended up calling the restaurant and was able to speak to the manager, she was there that same morning and was able to pull my ticket. After pulling my ticket, she said I was charged for two drinks. She offered a refund and apologized for the confusion, I appreciated that. She also mentioned, when paying cash you get a discount, I wasn't given that information when I did use cash. Overall, I would suggest this place for those who are looking for a brunch spot. This is a great choice, just make sure you get a receipt before paying your bill.

Yelp
Love this place. Anytime I come back home, I work from here. The staff is super nice/food is great and the overall vibe is energizing.

Emily T.

Yelp
A multipurpose spot for sure! This is a great place to study or get some work done, but it's also good for a date or just grab something on the go. The menu has more than your typical coffee shop fare, with items like mac and cheese and loaded tots. They also have a full bar with friendly staff.

Jamie T.

Yelp
Great place to study or hold a social gathering It has board games on the side and good service as well. Parking was very hard to find here though so beware if you go there at peak times.

Melissa C.

Yelp
Food and location are groovy! It has a very inviting vibe like most Lower Greenville restaurants. I'd say don't pay the 6.50 for the beignets. That is actually what we went there for and they had a texture. However everything else we ate was on point! My chai tea even had a pretty leaf design. The service felt a little rushed. I had to ask for napkins but she was very sweet and got us everything we asked for.

Hyun P.

Yelp
Very trendy, bright upbeat place, the music and chattering can get loud so not a place for studying or work. The food was okay, the Vietnamese coffee was not that good, I do like their house made strawberry jam on toasts.

Jannifer K.

Yelp
When I was in college, I had a chance to check out the Austin location of Halcyon many times so visiting the Dallas location was very nostalgic for me. The indoor space is very spacious, adorned with plants, and filled with a quiet buzz of conversation. Although this location is on Lower Greenville which is notorious for having less than ideal parking, Halcyon has a parking lot for customer parking right next to their location, which was a relief. I ordered a decaf americano with lavender and didn't *love* (it was really watered down) but be they were kind enough to let me swap it out for a lemonade. Although the pricing was a little steep (I paid $6 for my initial drink), I think the environment and service is well worth a visit!

Charley B.

Yelp
A small group of us decided to host our book club here. It was a great space to have a discussion, do solo remote work, enjoy or coffee or relax and watch a movie on their projector. I did not try the food, but the ambiance was really fantastic - a spacious, relaxed vibe on a Thursday night. They played Spider man, but it did not distract from the discussion. There were plenty of people, but it was not rowdy. If located closer to my home, I'd be regular.

Kezia C.

Yelp
I was desperately looking for a restaurant that serves vegan breakfast options and came across Halcyon. So glad I did. Nice location, friendly and quick service. I had the vegan Benedict which was tasty and a chai latte which was delicious..

Julie S.

Yelp
Trendy little spot. Good coffee and good service. Food was average for me - does the trick but won't change your life

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Halcyon is one of the few places that stays open late that has coffee. Besides coffee they offer a variety of other drinks including cocktails. They have a full menu and pastries. One of my fav drinks is the Espresso Shake. So good!! Super cute furniture and chill, spacious atmosphere. Some nights they show movies or have trivia nights. Really like that they have board games to play with your group while your there.

Will M.

Yelp
Even after asking, I still am unable to pronounce the name. The food, however, is AMAZING. So glad I chose this place for breakfast. If this was in LA I would go here every week. Amazing Mimosa flight too, can't go wrong.

Julian R.

Yelp
Halcyon I feel is really underrated for Brunch! There is plenty of seating for both dine-in customers and those who are coming in to get some work/studying done. The venue offers light music to set a warm and inviting environment. There is an extensive brunch menu, from the chicken + waffles staple, breakfast burritos, bowls, and more. You can pair any of the brunch entrees with the numerous cocktails and coffee items. We had the chicken + waffles (of course) and wow! The chicken has a thin and crispy crust, but is incredibly juicy center. The waffles was fairly thick and has a slight crunch to it even with the syrup. Thin and crispy bacon, strawberries, and powdered sugar top the entree off nicely. Can't go wrong with this item. The chorizo burrito will leave you satisfied as it is filled with a healthy portion of egg, chorizo, cheese, potatoes, alongside a flavorful and slightly spicy salsa. Definitely a fan of Halcyon! Yelp
This was the first time that I had been here and we got here right at 8:00! At first glance, we loved the vibes as it was very chill and spacious! We had a group of 8 and we had enough space to accommodate us! The staff were very friendly throughout our entire experience! We did have to go up in line to order our food however which was a little interesting and the food was okay in regards to taste and how much we paid. Not sure if I would go back for the food, but the coffee was delicious - both the matcha latte and caramel latte.

Charlene F.

Yelp
A friend suggested we meet here for lunch. Cute space with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the Nacho Tots and strawberry basil lemonade. My lunch partner tried the chicken pesto Flatbread and mango smoothie. Everything was really good. The nacho tots were bursting with flavor and every component was delicious. The strawberry basil lemonade was refreshing. Not sweet (if that's what you're looking for). I added a little Stevia and it was perfect for me. They also had lots of board games to play. We sat outside and there was a huge Connect Four game on one of the tables. I definitely would have pla6if we had more time. Cute place for a date, to work, or to hang out with friends. I'll be back!

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience at Halcyon. The ambiance was peaceful, the food was great and the service was too. I also liked that there was a designated parking lot for customers. Good vibes overall.

Tabi C.

Yelp
Fun drinks that you won't find other places. The shop is cute and they host fun events throughout the month. Service is always great!

Marina V.

Yelp
Spacious and quite place. Service was ok... Coffee was good, but for Bakery options were basic. Parking spot $10

Melissa M.

Yelp
Great food great vibes service is excellent Good music perfect chill location downtown stamford CT

Yelp
We enjoyed this late-night coffee hangout. An eclectic crowd which we loved. The young lady at the counter was super sweet and sociable. I will say my coffee sent me straight to the potty. For me that's a good cup. Lol And bonus you get a couple of animal cookies.

Jean Manuel G.

Yelp
Great breakfast. Hipster ambiance. Good service. Pretty good vegan options available. 5 out of 5 would recommend for a laid-back chill brunch

Michael A.

Yelp
I've been coming to Halcyon now for a couple years and have had mostly amazing experiences. Now that I've moved away, it's a go-to spot to hit up when I'm in the area. The nitro cold brew is sourced from Katz in Houston which is a wonderful roaster. The avocado toast is a sine qua non that comes with smoked salmon and a wonderful pico that packs a nice punch of flavorful jalapeño, onion and cilantro. Careful, it can be pretty warm if you're not used to spice. They also have really cool events with succulent classes and wine and full bar to boot! I highly encourage anyone in the Lower Greenville area to stop by Halcyon- you'll be impressed by all the options as well as a perfect place to relax with friends or even get some work done. Eat, drink and stay caffeinated, friends! MLA

Amber B.

Yelp
This is definitely a go to spot on Greenville. Great for brunches or if you want to catch up on some work at a coffee shop that serves spirits. They have one of the best chicken and waffles I've had in the city. The waffle is really fluffy and the friend chicken is seasoned really well and tender. It also has bacon on top that is fried perfectly. Drinks are pretty standard. We ate on the patio as it was a very pretty day outside, but inside is a cool vibe, too. Parking here can be a bit of a hassle. The parking lot can get full really quickly, so then you'll have to do street parking. The service is good here too, they have nice staff that fit the feel of the establishment. No one here taking themselves too seriously to ruin the experience.

Semhar M.

Yelp
Loved my work session at Halcyon! Delicious green smoothies, coffee, breakfast bowls, COMFY chairs and kind customer experience. The menu items are a bit on the pricier end but really delicious! I highly recommend anyone who's looking for a fun group co-working date to check Halcyon out. Sometimes they have live music playing, if not the playlists are always vibing.

Pamela B.

Yelp
It has a parking lot right next door, the decoration is very nice and I think it's a great place to go to work or study. I ordered a tomato soup and it was a little salty for my taste but it came with a grilled cheese that was very tasty. I ordered a London fog and I loved it, so I recommend this place.

Kari B.

Yelp
Love coming to this establishment to work. It's super cute and tons of space. Their budda bowl is SO good it's full of flavor and fresh ingredients. Their lattes are fantastic too.

Ryan C.

Yelp
I have been looking for a perfect blend of coffee and spirits to serve as my weekday work space and Halcyon delivered. I settled in around 2 pm on a Thursday to wrap up some meetings and to-do list items and started with a perfect iced americano, full of flavor and not burnt like most blends. Around 4 o'clock I transitioned to an espresso martini with lavender that was perfectly subtle and surprisingly potent. The happy hour prices were some of the best I've found in Dallas as well. I look forward to many more afternoons at Halcyon with their welcoming and helpful staff, casual ambiance, and inviting culture. Give this place a try if you're ever in the area!

Norma B.

Yelp
Good food, good service. Only reason they didn't get a five star had nothing to do with them but kinda did, pesky flies and bad parking. The parking lot had car damaging holes. In all, I would go back and I recommend this place.

Adam C.

Yelp
Halcyon is a cute bar and coffee shop that serves up a full menu, including all day breakfast. I tried two coffee drinks, the Thai iced coffee and a iced latte with homemade vanilla syrup. Both coffees were excellent! I tried the breakfast burrito with chorizo. The salsa was smoky and flavorful! A delicious way to start my day. I tried a blueberry muffin and it was also solid.

Marcia R.

Yelp
Great service, food was outstanding . My son had an omelet, my daughter had the eggs with biscuits with sausage and gravy and I had pancakes. So delicious! Will be back!

Kai S.

Yelp
So, my Run club and I finished a race at White rock Park and decided we would visit this restaurant for brunch. When we arrived, they were at a moderate pace. I am formed the server that we had eight coming, but they would also be more. So she put us at two tall tops near the bar. Perfect. Our server came over to us and he was delightful and he was training someone there were only four of us at the time, but more were arriving after the race we just had slowly the rest of our team members begin to trickle in, and the ambience went from delightful and pleasant to anxious and rude, one of the girls sitting by me, asked if she could put her food in because she had arrived early and the waiter snapped at her and informed her that he would not be doing that that he was overwhelmed with all the people that just came in. It may be just me, however, but a big crowd or two top I believe you should still approach and treat all of your guest the same way. Don't let a big crowd scare you. Every individual that was there to eat brunch that morning was very respectful very patient and would've been fine with our waiter and his trainee taking their time, but they immediately seen a big crowd and became very blunt. I could not decide between a blueberry pancake and a chocolate chip pancake so I asked if I could have one of each the waiter, then again snapped and told me he was not going to do that because the kitchen was too overworked to switch a modification like such. That's didn't make sense to me, especially since I've been a server and restaurant manager in the past. That instantly made me want to challenge that statement because from what I understand it's a simple modification you can type onto a ticket before sending it back . in the kitchen they would just pour one chocolate chip and one blueberry pancake. But instead of him even trying or just adjust his verbal delivery the way he spoke to me really turned me off from the restaurant. The person he was training seemed very sweet, I hope he doesn't pick up his colleagues snappy ways when dealing with a table larger than 8. The pancakes were not all that great the Mimosa flight was OK but not something that would make me wildly return to. Whenever I'm back on this side of town I highly doubt I will rush back over here for brunch .

L S.

Yelp
My fault. Went to a coffee shop for brunch and tea. Clearly they don't know how to brew a proper tea. Old tx Benedict was edible but forgettable. Atmosphere was light and bright. My single mom friend likes bringing dates here, so it fills a niche for her. And, maybe other food offerings are better. Parking sucks in this area so be prepared for that.

Tony D.

Yelp
James farm ice cream Cultivar beans 183 syrup Tasty espresso milkshake!

Tram-Anh P.

Yelp
Delicious coffee or beer! Definitely coming back for the coffee and my cousin can have the beer.

Victoria E.

Yelp
First time enjoying Halcyon, went for Dallas Tiki Week Paint and Punch event. We enjoyed the ice tea and Tiki Hubby had a Long Island Ice Coffee. Light nosh we shared the Margarita Flatbread ! The menu looked great with lots of variety including decadent desserts. Flatbread was crispy with a delicious red sauce and cheese, prefect for 2. Great night of painting led by artist Rob Hamilton.

Caroline A.

Yelp
It was a perfect day to sit outside so we def wanted a restaurant with patio seating. We really enjoyed this place because they had games for you to play while you wait for your food. We played Uno and you know how that can get crazy. For food we ordered the classic scramble that came with ham, bacon, sausage, onions, tomatoes all the good stuff and a Smoked salmon Benedict. Mai tai cocktail and a classic mimosa. I would recommend this place especially after a night out.
