We went there to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It's a relatively small floor, surrounded by the audience. We got there and there were no stage props in sight. I was wondering how they were going to pull this off. I was pleasantly surprised. They had plenty of props and they wheeled them out as needed. They did a fantastic job. I'll def be returning here to see more plays in the future. Big free parking lot across the street.

We came to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Hale Theatre and were absolutely blown away by the entire production. The quality of the set, costumes, and performances was top-notch, truly impressive from start to finish. My daughter is currently in musical theatre herself, and watching this show only fueled her passion even more. She said it’s her dream to one day perform on a stage like that and be surrounded by actors as talented as the ones we saw. She’s already begging to come back and see it again! We’ll definitely be back for future shows. Thank you, Hale, for such a magical experience!

Google
We saw our first play there, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and WOW! What an impressive show. The set, performers, music, all of it was fantastic. Charlie was kind enough to take photos with fans at the end. The was quite the performance and we look forward to many more. The venue is quaint and there is not a bad seat in the house. There are light and sugary concessions; nobody fussed about us bringing our own snacks. Such a fun place.

Google
Love the Hale Theater. The theater us so intimate and produces some great choices of productions. My husband and I just saw The Scarlet Pimpernel and it did not disappoint. It always amazes me how they manage such a professional musical with dancing and great voices in such a small space. We have been patrons for years and look forward to many more!

Google
This was a really good spot to see a concert. It was really nice how it was kind of seated in the round. Not totally round but more of a U-shaped with them in the middle. Every seat was extremely close cuz it's not a very big place. The show we watched was actually next door to the main theater. It was very good but the only reason I would take one star away is that it was very hot in the theater. Being as hot summer in Arizona they could have had it a little bit cooler. But I was sweating quite a bit most of the time. Uncomfortably hot. Also you need to be sure and bring your own water in. When the band took a break there was a woman came out with a little cart and was selling candies and water. But when we first got there there was no one out selling anything and I ended up having to go back out to the car and get some water that we had there because it was so hot we were dying of thirst

Google
It's nice having a real, live concert hall in downtown. I have been to a few shows, and all were highly enjoyable with comfortable seating and great AC. The traditional look and vibe of the theater makes it a highlight of the downtown area, and it is a must-see for sure!

Google
Hale Theatre never fails to impress! We’ve seen several shows here, and every single time we leave amazed by the incredible talent of the cast. The performers truly give their all in every production. We love Hale, and it’s such a joy to share this top-notch theater experience with our family!

Google
Our friends, my wife, and I, all just recently attended the play "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"...AMAZING! From the acting, to the singing, to the dancing, and to the stage props, the play was top notch from beginning to end. The creative ingenuity displayed by the production crew and the cast were spectacular. It was truly amazing what they were able to do in such an intimate setting. Thank you! We will be back again and again!

Yelp
3/25/25 We are back! Food N/A Service 5/5 Will call, convenient online seat selections and purchases. Ambience 5/5 The cutest and nicest venue for plays and theatre performances. That's it, the show the Wonderful Marvalettes aka the "Andrews Sisters " starts soon! Update: Outstanding performances, spot on voices, some humor weaved in with some unsuspecting audience members drawn into the show. Bravo Brilliant! $118.0 for two.

Yelp
My husband and I just watched Scarlet Pimpernel. What a spectacular performance. Go get your broadway experience right here in local downtown Town of Gilbert. Amazing is all I can say!
google avatar

I. J.

Yelp
The show was excellent and i love how small the venue is. There is no bad seat in the house
google avatar

Carlos C.

Yelp
Cast and crew did an amazing job with A Christmas Carol! Phenomenal performance. Go check them out during this Christmas season! The theater is small but they use the space very well. They have a concession stand and offer a 15 min intermission about an hour after the play starts.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE !!! I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I found this wonderful gem while looking for something to do when I visited Phoenix. Luckily, I saw that they were performing Irving Berlin's "Holiday Inn." The staff was amazing helpful when purchased tickets for the incorrect date. The show was amazing and the show was waaaaaaayyyyy better than what I was expecting. I really thought this was a small local theatre (which I love). What I got was a full blown professional show in one of the coolest theatres I have been in, in years. The crew, the staff, the cast, the music, the sound, the facility... A+++++ I cannot recommend strongly enough that you go see a show here. And, it is located in this really cool downtown area in Gilbert, AZ that is loaded with places to eat, drink, and shop. Run, don't walk, to the Hale Center Theatre. See a show. I promise that you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Love this little theater! There's not a bad seat in the house, and the friendly season ticket holders make you feel right at home. The entertainment is always top-notch--I went from an audience member to an honorary Wonderette! It was definitely an unforgettable experience, especially with the surprise wedding to Missy! Hale Theatre is a gem in downtown Gilbert. Saluti
google avatar

Richard A.

Yelp
Came here to see the Marvelous Wonderettes. It a 50s & 60d musical show. Great little theatre in downtown Gilbert. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking is available in a parking lot. There is not a bad seat in the house.
google avatar

Yelp
I came to see Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella and I left with season tickets to see 5 more shows!!! I haven't seen a musical that good ever. It's so good to see such quality talent again since Covid. They sang all my favorite songs such as My own little corner, 10 minutes ago, The prince is giving a ball, Do I love you because you're beautiful and many more. I have a new favorite Cinderella, she fit the role perfectly better than any prior movie or play. Brie Wadsworth-Gates. The seats are around the stage so there isn't a bad seat in the house. $55 a ticket, I can see why most of the shows are sold out. Running July 5 through Aug 17 2024. Located in downtown Gilbert off Gilbert road. There is plenty of free parking across the street due to it also serving as a park and ride. The playbill for the upcoming year looks fantastic. Definitely broadway quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait until my next show!

Yelp
Over the years I've seen various shows such as Sister Act, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Christmas Carol more times than I can count (their traditional holiday show). They have a traditional round style theatre which is unique comparative to other local theatres, and always put on a great production. My problem is price point as tickets are usually $50+ which has led me to not seeing recent productions. Additionally, I have a peanut/nut allergy and they serve products that can trigger food allergies. I try to buy seats with that in mind to make for a more safe visit. Overall, I would recommend as the staff are friendly, the production team is amazing, and you'll be sure to be entertained!

Yelp
I have been attending performances here at Hale Centre Theatre for many years. It is one of my favorites places to see a show here in Arizona. A friend of mine was a regular performer at Hale back in their early days and I would go to see all of her performances. My mother and I have seen their annual holiday "Christmas Carol" show on many occasions. Hale Centre Theatre has been here in downtown Gilbert for over twenty years. They host all sorts of musicals, dramas and comedies throughout the year. It is a nice affordable way to see a Broadway experience here in the Valley. I love the intimacy of this theater. Hale Theater holds 350 people and has an in-the-round style of seating. You really do feel like you are part of the show with how close you are to the actors. The production is usually always really good. I am always in awe of how talented many of these up-and-coming local artists are. They have done many renovations over the years to create a more engaging experience here at Hale. They just recently opened a 150 seat concert hall next door that showcases many tribute bands. Hale Centre Theatre is located across the street from the historic Gilbert Water Tower. There are so many options for food within walking distance if you want to made your night a dinner and a show night.

Yelp
What a great venue! This was our first time attending but won't be our last. So quaint and not a bad seat in the house. There is a QR code on the back of each chair, you scan that for your program. It worked well. Holiday Inn was the play we saw and the performance was outstanding. They sell soft drinks and water along with a variety of snack like pretzels or M & Ms etc. A great evening!
google avatar

Susan E.

Yelp
A beautifully well run theater. Not a bad seat in the house. Great acoustics and talented actors. Snack cart offered at intermission w sweet treats. Easy parking.
google avatar

Elvira G.

Yelp
My Fair Lady 3pm show was fantastic. Scored last minute seats east d7/8 with perfect view. Very good acting and singing by lead characters. Recommend making reservations early. Show is pretty much sold out- we just got lucky. Highly recommend this venue- smallish so every seat is good.
google avatar

Steven F.

Yelp
We just went to the comedy they have here currently. Titled "Cash on Delivery", we weren't laughing very much at first. That quickly changed and the whole audience was cackling at the raunchy jokes and funny plot twists. The actors were awesome, especially the wife actress. She made us giggle! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
I appreciate this theater and consider their productions to be of high quality. However, I have noticed a recurring pattern where the same performers are cast in multiple roles. While these individuals are indeed talented, it often feels like the same small group of actors is featured in every production. I would welcome the opportunity to see new faces on stage. Although the theater remains an excellent venue for entertainment, the repetition of certain performers detracts from the overall experience, making the shows appear too similar.... I think moving forward I will be checking to see if it's the same 2-3 people in leading roles. I love going but this has become distracting. As for the actual venue the sound is great and costumes have been excellent last few seasons. I do wish they could figure out a way for the bathrooms to not have such long lines but hey that's part of it I suppose!
google avatar

Ella Ana P.

Yelp
So I had a dance Field trip to go see anything goes at hale center theater and that was like the best show ever I loved When they sang and I got to meet two of the actors and my class were screaming when one of the male actors came out he played Billy
google avatar

Yelp
The Rolling Stones & Eric Clapton tributes last night was AMAZING! I went in looking forward to the Eric Clapton song (Tears in Heaven is an all-time favorite), but the "Mick Jagger" singer and the high energy of the Rolling Stones songs Stones the show for me. I probably prefer the acoustics in the smaller concert venue along with the state at one end (so you can see all the performers), but Hale Theatre is still an OUTSTANDING venue to see these musicsl performances. Already looking forward to the surprised announcemrnt of the August concert and really can't wait for a full season of concert in the remodeled Hale sound studio.
google avatar

Patti Z.

Yelp
We went to the hill theater last weekend to see Camelot and it was amazing! The actors and singing were great. We have also seen Titanic here. I would highly recommend this theater. Then before you go you can walk around downtown Gilbert and get some amazing food.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
We absolutely love this theater! There's not a bad seat, great views and seats from every angle! We have now seen The Little Mermaid and Cinderella at this theater both beautifully done. Theres 2 bathrooms, one down stairs, another upstairs, and they offer light concessions at intermission.
google avatar

Arin A.

Yelp
First experience here and we were very pleased. The environment is clean, inviting and feels very warm. The setting is very intimate and the staff kept everything organized and on time. Really enjoyed being able to see the actors so close and felt like we were a part of the show. Only advice when booking tickets is aim for the SE area of the theatre. Where we sitting we had to turn around quite a bit to see parts of the show. Selections of shows are endless and can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
The new concert hall is lovely, small and intimate just like the theater. Incredible talent. Affordable, clean, friendly.

Yelp
We're huge fans of the Phoenix Theatre, so we were excited to come join some Gilbert-dwelling friends at the Hale Center Theater this week. We had a blast! We watched And Then There Were None and loved Hale Theater's take on the classic Agatha Christie novel. One of the biggest benefits of this theater is the physical plant; with the stage in the center of an amphitheater-style seating arrangement, there are no bad seats in the house. The actors made full use of the stage as well, walking up the aisles between audience members so much that you really felt that you were part of the set. The awesome new lighting set-up was put to good use for some cool effects, but our friends tell us that they play even more with lighting in other shows they've seen. Hale Theater doesn't provide alcoholic drinks, but there's soda and water available at intermission, or you can pop across the street to get a take-out coffee.

Linda C.

Yelp
This is a theater in the round. There are NO bad seats. Each show is unique, with extremely good performers. The talent here is amazing. Whether you like "song & dance" or straight up acting, you will find something to enjoy. And the concert venue next door is wonderful too!
google avatar

Wynn Y.

Yelp
I saw the musical "Bye Bye Birdie" here today with a few friends. It was fabulous. The amount of talent among all of the actors was so impressive. They all had Beautiful singing voices, great dancing skills and just overall very talented cast and really entertaining. Not a bad seat in the theater. Only complaint is that the Bathroom lines are crazy long during intermission. I Waited in line for over 20 minutes. Other than that issue, I really love this venue and have tons of respect for the actors who obviously work tirelessly to learn their parts. It was a wonderful way to spend a warm summer weekend day in the valley. I can't wait to visit again.

Kathie C.

Yelp
Love this theatre and concert hall. Haven't seen a bad show in either venue. I've gone to every show for the past 5 years and haven't been disappointed once. And the music concerts are the best. Ben always brings in the best talent.

Doris B.

Yelp
We've seen many, many shows here over the years and loved every one. This review however, is about the concert venue! The shows are so well produced and performed, this is ultra professional level stuff. Great music, the sound system and acoustics are top notch. There isn't a bad seat in the place! Ben Hale is a really talented, funny, happy go lucky guy and we just love him. It wouldn't be the same without his musical ability and smile. Go see a show, you'll be hooked!
google avatar

Debbie F.

Yelp
Great venue for local theatre productions. Every seat is good. We just saw the Unsinkable Molly Brown and it was a fun show.
google avatar

Paula E.

Yelp
What a great evening we had at this Beautiful theater. It was such a pleasure to watch a live show, Chaps the musical, in a theater in the round. There doesn't appear to be a bad seat in the house. Lovely place, great show, staff and we went on New Years eve which was wonderful to get out and see live theater. They treated us all royally with dessert this evening. However the show and theater steal your heart as only live theater can do. Parking is free nearby and there are a lot of restaurants nearby to eat at. Make a night of it and check out there new 2022 season. I know we plan on going back! You will too.
google avatar

Mitch C.

Yelp
Nice intimate venue to see a good concert. Wish they could figure a way to sell adult beverages.

Sandy F.

Yelp
Great performances !!!! A must see theater - great small theater feel and every seat is a great seat !!!! A must see !!!
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
We always love coming to this place. Every seat is a good seat and since the hours of some of the shows are early enough, we can actually go to dinner afterwards and get home at a decent time. So far we've been to The Gazebo, The Hit, and A Christmas Carol. All were fun, but the Christmas Carol was pretty outstanding. The acting was great and it kept me wondering how they pulled off some of the special effects in such a small venue. My daughter is young and loves going, so we're going to make this a mommy and me outing on a regular basis.
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
A world class theatre Saw the grinch here. The venue was classy. The theatre was well themed. And the special effects enhanced the performance. The actors were well rehearsed and delivered a classic that was both true to its source material yet had enough unique elements to make the performance stand out. The 360 seats made it feel like you were part of the performance. It engaged you much better than a traditional theatre. If I could I would see every play here for the rest of my life...

Jackie B.

Yelp
Saw a matinee of A Christmas Carol with my sister-in-law today. I've been to other shows here and enjoyed them all, but this one was fantastic. The sets, costumes, special effects, performers--all of it was top-notch. We may have to make this an annual holiday treat!
google avatar

Liliana S.

Yelp
I have seen numerous shows spanning several years! Each show is unique and tailored for different audiences. I have not seen a bad show in the several years I have been a patron. The casts, crews, and directors all put in 100% effort in their performances. Their pricing can be a bit high, however, it is worth every penny. I can't recommend this theatre enough- especially if you appreciate the arts!
google avatar

Jan P.

Yelp
This is a great music venue for tribute singers. We've seen many any never disappointed. Went to see the Beatles last night. Great band! Great music! Fun place to go. It's truly a "must go to" place. Ben Hale is a great singer. Enjoyed hearing his daughter sing last night. That young girl has a phenomenal voice. You will not be disappointed. No bad seat in the house! Can't wait to go back in a few weeks.
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
Saw Lucky Stiff tonight with my parents and kids - show was hilarious. This is a great local theatre that often has great talent and fun, creative productions.
google avatar

Teresa W.

Yelp
Great performers! Loved it! I went to Take the Gun and Run. A comedy and the actors were lighted hearted and funny. Will be going again.

James B.

Yelp
What a great place to experience great entertainment. The band was amazing. Keys! Guitarist(s) amazing, vocals outstanding. We had a great time listening to Pink Floyd. Can't wait till their next show. Thanks band!!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
After living in Gilbert for the last 8 years this was our first trip to the Hale Theater. It was a fun entertaining affordable evening. Will definitely be going back for another production.

Eta Y.

Yelp
Fantastic show tonight - Holiday Inn. Costumes were amazing and performers absolutely fantastic! Had a wonderful time!
google avatar

Anne-Marie Y.

Yelp
Once again this year the Hale Concert Hall did not disappoint! Our first show for 2024 was the Beatles. Excellent down to the left handed Paul McCartney. The vocals were on point as well and costumes were researched and magnificent. Tonight's show was a complete 180 to old country hits from Kitty Wells, Hank Williams and George Jones. The "Hayride" experience again did not disappoint. The voices are strong and belt out the tunes. The band backing them up has so much talent it will blow your mind. Again costuming was researched and well thought out putting you right back in time. And speaking of being in the middle of it all, this venue is in a horseshoe fashion bringing the performers up close. I can't say enough about this venue. Last years solo cover of Roy Orbison will be one of my favs

Marsha H.

Yelp
We visited Hale Center Theater last night for the first time. I purchased tickets online almost 2 months previous so had front row seats for Beauty and the Beast. I was blown away at the talent of every single character. It was a great production. I was equally impressed with the skill and speed in which they changed props/scenes. It was a unique square stage in the center of the seats, I really enjoyed being able to see facial expressions that close. Things to consider: The lobby doesn't have a lot of places to sit and wait until the doors open 30 minutes prior. (they were late opening the doors and late starting the play) Go to the bathroom before the production and don't drink/eat anything during if you can help it. The ENTIRE stage and aisles getting in/out of theater are utilized during the production, making going to the restroom impossible...and they actually say not to leave your seat. I assume in an emergency, it's fine. The restrooms have large lines during the 15 minute intermission. They do sell a few candy items and bottled water/drink options before and during intermission. They do not have playbills. There are QR codes various placed. I wish they'd announced that because I missed it. I can't wait to go back. I was impressed. Ticket prices were great but fees were a bit high to me.
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Theater in the round. A wonderful theater experience. Fun and intimate. Not a bad seat in the house. ADA features are well done. Restrooms are sparkling clean. Staff was polite and helpful. Snacks at intermission are simple but quick and easy.

D J.

Yelp
We went to see My Fair Lady on Friday Feb 16th. It was fantastic!! I was apprehensive when we bought the tickets that this would be an inexperienced 'high school type" production. I was wrong. The entire cast gave 100% and the staff at the theater were very friendly and helpful. This musical was presented much better than the old 1960s movie. The lead actor and actress were fun to watch and portrayed their parts very well. The acting and choreography were presented well for such a small stage. We were visiting for one night from Denver and so happy we got to see this performance. My wife and I had a fun time and would highly recommend.

Anne H.

Yelp
I attended my first show there last Thursday and I absolutely loved it! The show was great, the ambiance and intimacy of the theater is wonderful! My only disappointment is that after so many cancer treatments this year, I just can't budget any more shows for a long time.
google avatar

linda f.

Yelp
The musicians and the actors are just so great and it's so comfortable to be sitting there and watching them I went to many but I think Sister act was my favorite there was a lady that did a lot of singing in there a beautiful voice beautiful.
google avatar

Taryn M.

Yelp
Always a good time here. Production value of A Christmas Carol was great! Such a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
google avatar

Vicki M.

Yelp
This is a great place to go watch a production. It's a small theater and close to great restaurants.
google avatar

Cathy A.

Yelp
Fantastic theatre. Saw the Beatles it was awesome. Sound quality was so professional, costumes were spir on. Over all a 10
