"A transformation of a long-standing Waikiki property into a boutique offering managed by the same team as an iconic nearby resort, this waterfront hotel brings toned-down five-star sensibilities through interiors with teak finishes, natural palettes, floor-to-ceiling windows, and museum-partnered artwork. Hotel is very pretty, modern, and very clean. My linens were hypoallergenic which was great for someone who suffers with asthma and allergies overall. AC worked perfectly and the bathroom was very clean, everything worked great, and they had a bidet. Truly felt like a luxurious experience. The hotel offers daily benefits for guests like ice cream, wine, etc. We did not use the gym, yoga classes, pool etc etc, we just didn't have the time honestly. But I'm sure they're great too from the photos. They have their own attached bakery that closes at 11:30am (which I wish they were open till at least 2pm for guests who sleep in) but it's ok, we tried it and they're food and coffee was delicious! Many options and very fresh. There's so many restaurants and shops right outside the hotel. Literally. I would 100% stay here again. Highly recommend! And all staff was extremely helpful and nice and accommodating.

Google
We had a great experience at the Halepuna. Rooms were clean and modern. Our 21st floor view of the ocean was incredible. The staff was also friendly, attentive, and helpful. Any issues were corrected immediately. They even worked with us with our late check out needs with no additional charges. Lastly, the valet team was the best. Very polite and helpful.

Google
The hotel staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to help me. For example, I had work and required access to the business center at 3am even though it's closed, the staff went to the business center to let me in and work there even though it was closed. When I needed a large set of documents printed (over 200 pages), they did that and had it waiting for me at front desk within 2 hours. And when I needed 3 boxes on a Sunday and they helped me coordinate USPS shipping. On top of that, the cleaning staff were also amazing. Friendly, cheerful, and just welcoming. The rooms were always meticulously clean. The rooftop pool was beautiful, the onsite laundry let's you wash clothes 24 hours a day. This is going to be the hotel I come back to when I do visit Waikiki again

Google
Deduct 1 star because of the pool guy and no desk in room. Otherwise this is a less expensive version of Halekulani. If you like no resort fee, freebies and high tech technology, this is the best place. Our room on the 8th floor was convenient with pool, gym, garden, laundry area, water refill station on the same floor, with private nice and clean bathrooms and showers near pool/gym so if you are sharing room with someone, you can use one of those instead of waiting. Our patio almost same size of room, really great for drying out wet swimsuits and towels. We also got promotion of free breakfast, early check in and late checkout (or you can choose free parking). Great location, just a short walk from lots of shops, places to eat, and of course the beach. Best is it’s soundproof, you won’t hear any outside noice once the doors are closed. Also highly recommend meals at House Without a Key across at Halekulani. Expensive but worth it. Everyone so nice and relax, totally has that vacation vibe eating al fresco.

Staying at the hotel was absolutely incredible! I'd head back any day of the week. Everything was super convenient—shopping, the beach, restaurants, you name it! The rooms were gorgeous and spacious enough for a group hangout. The elevator was a breeze—quick and smooth! The customer service at Halepuna was top-notch, with staff going above and beyond to make us feel safe, supported, and happy throughout our stay. Plus, the pool and pool bar? Total highlights! We relaxed under the cabana and had an amazing time. Definitely a 5+ star experience! 🎉✨

We loved our stay here for our family vacation. Many of the positives: ||-Room cleanliness!|-Location: essentially across the street from the beach. Also, close to great restaurants & shopping|-helpful, kind front desk|-free beach towel & beach bag service at the concierge desk|-we upgraded upon booking to a deluxe ocean view room & the view was magnificent. We loved our room (22nd floor)|-the pool & hot tub were nice & well maintained & the bar service at the pool was great |-the hotel offered a free perk daily, such as ice cream, yoga, or Hawaiian shaved ice. ||We would definitely stay again if we return to Oahu

Beds and pillows were great. Lots of towels and drawers. Best location and beach access. Great customer service every where we went. Bakery and coffee was amazing. Hospitality was amazing. We were provided with take home slippers and reusable water bottles and in room robes. View was great. Pool was clean and bar service was great.

Google
I want to give this hotel 5 stars, but unfortunately there’s one big area that they fell short that I think others should be aware of. When we booked our “Mountain View” room, the photo looked like it was a clear view of diamond head. I know the exact view can vary, but what I was not expecting was a direct view of the parking lot and a hillside covered in houses. It wasn’t even close. Don’t get me wrong, the green hillside was still beautiful, but not something we would have paid extra for. We booked through Costco and thought maybe the misleading photo was on them, so we didn’t push the issue and paid for an upgrade to an ocean view. However, upon reading other reviews, it seems we aren’t the first ones to have this issue and it appears that the photos on the hotel website and Costco have been changed. It’s disappointing that we weren’t offered the upgrade for free given the discrepancy. We also had a note that said happy anniversary in our first room along with two champagne glasses, but no champagne. Not sure if that was intentional or maybe the champagne never made it to the new room. That said, I can’t leave a review without acknowledging the positives. The front desk staff was warm upon arrival and helpful when we requested the upgrade. The pool attendant is fantastic, he made sure we knew the best places to sit to ensure we had sun longer. The bakery is great, lots of choices and even a gluten free option which was nice. The rooms are beautiful and well thought out. The bidet is nice touch, although the seats were heated in our first room and the lobby bathroom but not in our second room. The bed and pillows are comfortable, there’s a dedicated workspace, and the light controls next to the bed are great. If we didn’t have the issue with the view this would be a 5 star review.

Yelp
Our 2nd year in a row staying at the beautiful Halepuna Waikiki. This time it was much busier then last year but the experience was still top notch. We had a slight hiccup when we got there as our room wasn't ready and we had to wait for almost an hour but their lobby is a nice place to just relax. What makes the Halepuna Waikiki special is it's size. It's nice and cozy. We spent most of our time relaxing at the pool or just chilling in our room. Can't wait to go again!

Yelp
Boutique style hotel located in Waikiki. Stayed here during Christmas week to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Service was very attentive and we definitely received the Aloha spirit. My daughter had even received a birthday surprise on her bed upon arrival. As the other reviewers mentioned, the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice. Loved the modern mechanical blinds. Ocean views are awesome but we opted for the Mountain View. Although the hotel is tucked in the heart of Waikiki, the hotel is quiet and serene. The only downside for me was that our room was a tad small and the water temperature would not get very hot.

Yelp
The Halepuna hotel in Waikiki, the sister hotel of Halekulani, has undergone a complete refurbishment and I highly recommend the rooms with ocean views located on the higher floors. The breakfast options are amazing, with the loco moco being a standout dish with the vous vide "onsen" egg. This hotel is a hidden gem, offering a sense of calm and escape from the chaos of other Waikiki hotels. Unlike dealing with kids running around during check-in elsewhere, Halepuna provides a serene atmosphere. If you're looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating stay in Waikiki, this hotel is the perfect choice.

Yelp
MY GO TO HOTEL IN WAIKIKI If you're looking for a cool, CLEAN, chill hotel that's in an awesome location in Waikiki HALEPUNA is the best! I love how it's not like the huge outdated hotels like Marriott Hyatt Sheratons.... Like the wonderful hospitality you get in Japan, here they greet with you with respect and remember your face. Rooms are good size, lovely beds, JAPANESE soaking tub FTW and of course my favorite the huge BALCONIES! Their hospitality suite and laundry room is on same floor as well as their pool. Pool size is small but it's quiet and clean with infinity pool. Located behind the Royal Hawaiian Village it's a small block away from the ocean. The Halekulani Bakery is amazing too don't miss it they close on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Yelp
Awesome experience with the staff at Halepuna. Front desk were pleasant upon arrival. You wouldn't think that it's super busy just like other hotels but it's clearly calm inside the lobby. Would go back again!!!

Yelp
A beautiful Staycation with the family was done here at the Halepuna. The sister hotel of Halekulani and all I can say is "WOW"! One of the best treasures is staying at this super luxurious hotel with excellent staff and rooms. We had not only an enjoyable and memorable experience, but one with us wanting to do it all again. The Halekulani Bakery itself is probably one of the best hidden secrets of the island's top bakery as stopping here every morning will get everyone into heavenly bliss. Do yourself a favor and experience this for yourselves, you won't regret it!

Yelp
We stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary trip and we could not have picked a better hotel four our 4 days in Honolulu. It's walking distance to all the main shopping areas and to Waikiki Beach but not so close that you get all of the street noise. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and surprised us with a nice bottle of wine when they learned it was our anniversary. Room service is from the Halekulani across the street which got a bit pricy but the quality of the breakfast we ordered was fantastic. The Halekulani Bakery next door was phenomenal and we ordered online for pickup for the remainder of our time here. The room is modern and comfortable amd I really appreciated that the room light controls were by the bed so I didn't have to get up to turn out the lights. Parking is $50 per day with in and out privileges for guests. I will definitely stay here again if we have the pleasure of going back to Honolulu!

Yelp
Wonderful stay to celebrate our anniversary. Check in was smooth and Brooke honored the request for a high floor. A bottle of wine and coconut cake were appreciated as anniversary wishes. Housekeeping and valet were excellent. This really was an oasis in busy Waikiki.

Yelp
The hotel was absolutely beautiful! Everything was very clean, high tech room accessories, complimentary breakfast that came with our package was phenomenal. Staff were always very kind and accommodated any request. The rooms felt brand new and really high quality, we absolutely loved our stay here! Highly recommend

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! Staff was very wonderful and attentive. Location is almost unbeatable. Only problem was the beds were rock hard but hey. Highly recommend and this will be our go to hotel from here on out

Yelp
I had a really comfortable and memorable stay at the Halepuna. The staff are kind and attentive, valet parking is super convenient, and the amenities are great. I used the gym every day and it had (almost) everything I needed. The infinity pool was the perfect place to watch the sunset. The room was perfect too, although I felt like the windows could be a little cleaner to do the view justice. Very conveniently located. It's just steps away from the beach, as well as the wonderful restaurants at the Halekulani. And just a short walk to Waikiki beach (the hotel itself didn't feel crowded despite being in a popular area which made for a relaxing atmosphere). I'd definitely visit again.

Yelp
Pros: Very clean Great Covid protocols Location Very quiet within hotel Sister hotel of Halekulani Staff is helpful Cons: Ocean view is squeezed between buildings Room on smaller side Balcony with ocean view is very loud because of truck deliveries and air conditioners Internet was on the slow side We were unable to try all amenities since several were closed due to covid. A quiet alternative to the large resorts in the area.

Yelp
Not sure if ownership changed or what but our second stay here wasn't as warm and fuzzy as our first experience. The aloha welcome was no longer there and the special touches also was not that there. No reusable water bottles, front desk was not as helpful or friendly. We went thanksgiving week this time for reference. Hotel room was still the same. But not sure I would go out of my way to stay here again.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Halepuna for 4 nights during our recent trip to Hawaii. The room is pretty standard, but it was clean and we had a large balcony with ocean view. We knew we wouldnt be in the room too long so having fancy amenities wasnt important to us. However, I did ask my husband how important it is for him to have an ocean view...he said very. The room is equipped with a single cup coffee maker, electric water kettle and mini fridge. I brought my own mini water kettle with me, so i didn't use the coffee maker or water kettle, but we did use the mugs that were included in the room. 2 complimentary water bottles are also included. I usually buy a case of water for the hotel room when I travel, but the water fountains were perfect to refill my hydroflask. I can be a water snob, and the water tastes fine. I liked that they didnt have any snacks/drinks for purchase just lying around the room. I also loved that the hotel has a hospitality room. It was perfect for when I woke up at 4am and my husband was still sleeping (key card won't open it before 7am, but the staff will open it for you). The 3 hour time difference always gets me. Staff is always so friendly and helpful. We used the valet every day for our rental car, which was so nice. Beach towels and mat are also available at the valet/bell desk for use free of charge. I would definitely stay here again! Pros -Central Waikiki area, easy to walk to many locations (there's an ABC store just around the corner) -Clean (the #1 thing I look for when booking hotels) -3 elevators (short wait time) -Infinity pool and hot tub -Friendly staff -Fitness center -Hospitality room (has atm) -Water fountains (free drinking water) Cons -Parking is $50/night cost is same for self and valet parking (cost is pretty standard for Waikiki though) -Driving in and out from the hotel can be difficult (high traffic area in Waikiki) -No free continental breakfast (wasn't important for us) -Lower floors can have views blocked by other hotels -Pool is shallow (goes to 4.5ft)

Yelp
Opened in 2019, this quiet boutique hotel is right across the street from Halekulani. We booked a 2 nights "staycation" using the Kama'aina discount! The discount is actually a great deal in my opinion. In addition to a discount on the rooms, you get free parking and also late check out. The rooms are very clean and new-looking. Beds comfortable. The 8th floor has their infinity pool, hot tub, "relaxation garden," gym, and hospitality room that my husband used to do some work/take meetings in during the day. The pool is small but it was never crowded to the point where there were no chairs. There's a bar. I saw people also ordering food but didn't check the food menu out myself. You get a complimentary reusable water bottle which is awesome to promote less plastic waste, and there are stations to fill up in the lobby and on the 8th floor. Unfortunately, the bakery was closed when we went and they weren't sure when it would reopen. Every morning from 630-830am they do put out complimentary coffee, POG, and a pastry (scone, banana bread, etc). It would be nice if they had a restaurant or other eatery on the premise but you are so close to Beachwalk and Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, so there are tons of options nearby. You will not be able to use the Halekulani pool but you can certainly dine at their restaurants or book a spa treatment. The beach access with a nice, small but more private sliver of beach, is directly across the way from the Halepuna. Will definitely return and I am recommending this to all my friends, locals and mainland visitors alike! TLDR; stay here if you want a quiet getaway with clean rooms and close proximity to restaurants, don't stay here if you want onsite amenities like restaurants or spa

Yelp
Booked a week at Halepuna to see how good it was. It's a boutique hotel hidden adjacent to the Halekulani Hotel. Check in wasn't as smooth as I expected because the clerk ran my credit card twice which I objected immediately. He said that it didn't go through the first time so I checked and showed him the charged on my credit card twice! This staff member definitely needed more training! Bell man delivered our baggage promptly as we were checking out our room. Loved the bathroom and amenities provided. The electric curtain was a really nice touch. The pool was amazing and the staff was very friendly taking care of us every time we visited. Housekeeping cleaned our room everyday and replenished new towels and amenities. Bakery was closed so we didn't get to try it. Beautiful property and very quiet unlike the family resorts. We had a great stay and will definitely consider staying here again soon!

Yelp
Clean and great service from the staff. Quiet and no rift rafts. We will be returning

Yelp
Lovely hotel by the beach with very nice hotel staff! My daughter took me here for my birthday. The front desk sent a bottle of wine. It is not right on the beach but right across from Halekulani the sister hotel with beach access right across the street. The infinity pool is beautiful with light food and bar service. Great pool attendance staff. Overall highly recommend.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Halepuna Waikiki! The hotel is in a super central location and close to a bunch of shops and restaurants. While I preferred going a little ways a way, since the area is super congested, it's convenient nonetheless. The amenities here are great and the hotel is really nice. The bathroom is updated and the room is the size of an average hotel room, plus the ocean view is very impressive. I've paid for ocean views before that didn't actually have an ocean view, so I was pleasantly surprised by our room here. The only downside to this hotel is that the pool closes super early! I understand that the sun sets at around 6pm, but I expected the pool to be open until at least 9 for some night time jacuzzi! But that's our only complaint. If you're coming to Waikiki and have a little more to spend, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Everything to like about this place. Upon check in we were not I formed about the breakfast procedure (Go across the street to the Halekulani and give your room number). Interior was clean and quiet as was the hotel. Downside-Pool closes at 6:00 and parking is $50.00 per day. The have Valet however again there was no clear instruction to use this service. Room was comfy and clean. The view was beautiful. Loves the electric blinds!!! Keurig Coffee in the room..

Yelp
Amazingly beautiful property on Waikiki beach. Boutique feel hotel. Top notch 5 star service from every staff member we encountered. The room was a tad small but luxuriously appointed. Gorgeous marble bath with deep soaking tub. Bathrobes were wonderful and the window and balcony glass is double panesd to keep outside sound level down for a restful night of sleep. Our stay came with a breakfast package to be used at their sister property restaurant Orchids. The meals daily were fabulous. You will be happy if you stay at this beautiful hotel.

Yelp
Great hotel and service. Want to avoid the crowds and get personable service...come here. Rooms upgraded to modern feel. Awesome views of the ocean. Shower pressure is the best we've ever experienced. Keurig, coffee pods, hot water kettle, and refrigerator in room. They also give complimentary stainless steel reusable water bottles. Water stations on pool deck and lobby. The pool is the stand out. Infinity pool with great view of the Pacific. Staff is super friendly and hard working. Pool guy jogging to get lounge chairs set up for us. It's so nice to be in the pool area without tons of people. This place is so relaxing. Pool and spa temperature perfect. Spa jets are nice and strong. Pool side bar to get your drinks on. Mojitos and Moscow mules delicious. They have a signature menu, but you can pretty much order anything. Gym has great equipment. Free weights, treadmills, weight/cable equipment. Also have a wall tv program that will give you a workout. Currently, you reserve a time block, so you pretty much get the gym to yourself. Super nice. All staff is super nice here. They say hello and answer questions you may have. Bonus...no resort fee.

Yelp
The hotel is fairly new, I'd say 3 years old, maybe 4. It's the sister hotel to the Halekulani (5)hotel so you could expect luxury and excellent service. The rooms are a bit small but cozy. The balcony however is spacious to fit two pool chairs and a table so this space makes up for the small sleeping quarters. The pool is awesome. It's very clean and newer.

Yelp
What a wonderful visit! We had the best time at the Halepuna. The few negative reviews I read compared it to its big sister property the Halekulani Resort, which is just in front of this hotel right on the beach - and I have to say that's incredibly unfair since the Halekulani is a resort and the Halepuna is a boutique hotel - and an exceptional one at that. While you don't get the restaurants and spas of a resort (although apparently when the Halekulani reopens guests of the Halepuna will be able to use their spa), you do get a beautiful hotel with fantastic service in a prime location. Food offering are limited, but they are really delicious. We loved our breakfast every morning with amazing fresh juices & pastries (still craving the guava rolls) - plus some hardier options like eggs or the "local" pork breakfast. We were able to order sandwiches & salads by the pool that were just gorgeous (get the artichoke toast - you won't regret it!). And we had a beautiful cheese & fruit plate in our room for arrival. All of which are provided by the bakery downstairs, easily the best in Waikiki so be sure to stop in. Plus Keaton and Wendy were so helpful with advice on what to do and where to go over breakfast. Every morning we would walk by the line at Denny's and think how crazy those people were when some of the best food was just two doors down. Our room was a little snug for two people, but very nice and the view was incredible. We originally booked an ocean view and were able to upgrade to a deluxe ocean view on the top floor. We loved watching the sail boats & surfers from our balcony every morning while we sipped coffee. The bathtub was huge and nice to take a soak in after a long hike- and of course the Toto toilets are a fun luxury as others have mentioned. There are all the usual amenities - a small fridge, Keurig coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, safe, etc. There were other nice touches like robes, slippers, masks, hand sanitizer, complimentary water bottles, etc. And the insulated beach bags with towels available from valet were another helpful bonus. The front desk staff were all so friendly, particularly Debbie who always greeted us for the day and helped answer questions or call to check on things like beach chair rentals (very easy from the Sheraton next door, $70 for two chairs & an umbrella all day). I am sad I didn't get his name, but one of the valets even ran down the beach path to make sure the walkway was open for us when we heard it might be closed. The location is ideal. A quick walk down the alley next to the Halekulani gets you to the water in less than a minute. And there is a nice outdoor walk way going either direction to Waikiki Beach (through the Sheraton pool area) or Fort DeRussy Beach, which has a lovely little park by the water. There is an ABC Store literally around the corner where you can buy any basics you need, and you're in easy walking distance to other restaurants, coffee shops, and the high-end retail stores. We really enjoyed our time at the pool too. Yuki was the kindest server and super attentive to everyone. The drinks are FABULOUS- way better than the sugary tourist cocktails you get everywhere else. Even when I ordered a piña colada it was fresh and delicious. Maybe my one disappointment was that the pool closed so early, 6 PM, it would be wonderful to keep it open later to watch the sunset or sit in the hot tub and gaze at the stars. My hope is that is just a COVID staffing issue though and they will eventually be open later. There is also a sweet garden space and gym with shower rooms. They have a yoga class every morning, including a stretch class on the beach once a week, a wonderful way to start the day. The front desk also helped set me up in their community room when I needed a quiet space for a Zoom call, which was a lovely room and would be a great spot for a meeting if you're there for business. We left the Halepuna feeling like we'd made a whole gaggle of new friends. We will absolutely stay here again and can't wait to see what it's big sister Halekulani is like when it reopens. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay!!

Yelp
I stayed at Halepuna for the first time this past weekend from 07/08 - 7/11/22. My things were stolen out of the hotel room, including high value property totaling more than $5,000 on Sunday, 07/10. WARNING: there is inadequate security at this hotel and is severely understaffed. ** EDIT: Wow. To prove my point about it being severely understaffed, in 2020 they actually wrote a letter to the mayor notifying him of a mass layoff of almost 129 people due to Covid. You will be affected by this if you book a stay now. Trust me. They will tout Covid over and over again as an excuse, even though restrictions have lifted. They LITERALLY got rid of "8 housekeeping attendants in public areas." No wonder my stuff was easily stolen. See photos. Not only that, there is recent local news about "Hawaii housekeepers struggle as hotels ditch daily room cleaning" Links: https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2022/05/27/despite-tourism-boom-hawaii-housekeepers-struggle-hotels-ditch-daily-room-cleaning/ https://www.huffpost.com/entry/hotel-workers-union-pandemic-layoffs_n_621011b2e4b060c5c1ec58dc So, housekeepers/staff are pissed off. Furthermore, the management at Halepuna did not give me proper resolution and did not answer my questions in detail regarding this incident. How did my luggage leave my hotel room on the 18th floor, and get emptied out on the 8th floor of the men's bathroom? How did someone even access my hotel room? Who entered the room and why? One red flag worth mentioning is that I saw homeless people sleeping on and entering the private beach property of the hotel as if no one cared. This is unacceptable. There are no security cameras in the hallways either, which makes it easier for burglaries. I am not confident that a security incident report has been filed by the hotel management, other than a police reported that I filed with the Honolulu PD myself. The only thing I was given by was one of the staff's business cards, and a blank piece of paper titled "Property Loss/Damage Report", which I was under pressure to fill out quickly. There has been zero transparency in terms of policies and procedures, and no reconciliation. Furthermore, believe it or not, our room wasn't even cleaned the entire stay even though I saw a housekeeper cleaning to the right of my room when I got back, only to discover my things were gone... Despite being a business platinum card holder with benefits, we didn't receive a room upgrade upon check-in. I had to ask twice to get an upgrade, and finally got one the second night of our stay. We couldn't use any of the amenities or services because they were shut down unbeknownst to us at the time of booking. So, we did not receive the value for the money. We spent the majority of our short stay dealing with the cops and incompetent staff dealing with our stolen luggage and electronics. I will never stay here again, nor would I recommend this place. It's a liability, and there's so much theft that occurs around the area.

Yelp
Amazing hotel, we got birthday celebration set up for us, everyone was super nice and helpful. Room, pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bakery, -- everything we visited/used was perfectly clean and had the nicest stuff around. Even though jacuzzi was not working for a day (may favorite daily activity), still giving this place 5 stars. Would recommend, and hopefully will come back soon!

Yelp
What an amazing stay at the Halepuna! My bf and I decided to do a mini staycation for Valentine's weekend since we barely do them. I used my Yelp Elite promo that we got from the Yelp party. It included a discounted price plus late check out, a bottle of wine and free parking! Score! We would have been able to get a free upgrade but unfortunately the rooms were booked. The nice thing is that we got there early and they let us check in to our room. The front desk staff were welcoming.. especially the young man, I believed his name was David or something similar. We got a standard room which was a decent size. Being that this hotel is new of course, everything was nice and clean and very modern. The marbled bathroom was what stood out to me! My dream bathroom haha. I also love how you could close the blinds automatically and make the room dark if you wanted to so no light would get in the morning. They have an infinity pool and jacuzzi on the 8th floor. I wish we could have stayed longer to use it cause it was so relaxing. You can also order food and drinks by the pool side. The food is the same as the Halepuna Bakery and Restaurant downstairs. Also if you are visiting, the hotel is in a perfect location (across from the Halekulani hotel) and close to Waikiki Beach Walk, Royal Hawaiian and Sheraton. It was a perfect spot for us. We walked to Stripsteak for dinner and had drinks at The Laylow, followed by a night out at Rum Fire. It was a perfect weekend and yes even though we live here, I felt like I was a tourist for a little bit haha. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here!! Also the forgetful person that I am... I stupidly left 3 of my favorite rings in the bathroom of our room. Omg who does that right? Thankfully it wasn't something *too* valuable although one was a Tiffany ring from my bf. And the other 2 rings were meaningful to me too. I didn't realize I had left at the hotel till an hour or so later after we had checked out. I immediately panicked thinking what if it gets stolen. I called the hotel to see if they found any rings. They told me they would go check call me to let me know. I was literally freaking out for a good 5 min then decided to call them again (being the impatient person that I am lol). Well thankfully they said the rings were still there and that they would hold it for me. I was soooo grateful! I appreciate the great customer service and would definitely recommend staying here for anyone that's visiting. Yes it's a bit on the pricier side as are most hotels are in Waikiki but you get what you pay for! Would def do another staycation here again!

Yelp
We've traveled to Waikiki over 15x and each time we try to stay at a different hotel. We know the area very well and try to stay near the end of the strip by the Royal Hawaiian center because it's less busy and still very convenient. We stayed at the Sheraton last year and loved our stay because of the ocean front view rooms. This time around we wanted a quieter stay in a newer hotel. The hotel is behind the Sheraton so still very close to all the shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay so much, this might be our go-to hotel from now on! We opted for a city view room this time because we always get the ocean view. This view did not disappoint since we got a room on the highest floor. It was quiet the entire time as if were returning home to our very own high rise luxury apartment. The bathroom has a gorgeous white marble design, with very strong shower head pressure and a toto washlet toilet. The amenities are individually wrapped in boxes and plastic so extra sanitary. It is so clean! Each room comes with 2 complimentary water bottles (there are water refueling stations) The entire staff is helpful and goes above and beyond (very attentive Japanese style service). The pool staff will set up your chaise with a fitted towel for you and open/ close umbrellas if needed. Ocean view from the pool is amazing. Each time we go to the pool there's no more than 10 people there. So peaceful. The bell desk staff will give you beach towels rolled up and put them into their custom Halepuna tote bags for you. The only suggestion is for the hotel to get larger towels for the beach. There's also a limited number of boogie boards for guests. If you are looking for a resort type hotel with on site restaurants and bars + a bustling night time scene this hotel is not for you. We don't eat at hotel restaurants so not a big deal for us. There are plenty of restaurants just outside the hotel. New musubi Iyasume just opened on Lewers street around the corner. So many good restaurants within a 10 min walk. Can't praise this hotel enough. Will definitely stay here again next time we're back!

Yelp
It's a nice hotel in a good location. Only problem we had was parking. I think there are only 2 or 3 floor for self-parking and it is shared with Halekulani hotel. So we had hard time finding a space on the day we checked in. Parking space is narrow so compact car is better. We liked staying at this location when it was Waikiki Parc so we wanted to stay at Halepuna to see how it changed. And also it was our anniversary so we wanted to have a nice staycation. We had high floor mountain view and I loved the view. Ocean view is refreshing and nice too but beautiful sky during the day and city lights at night was nice. Also more chance of seeing rainbow. Room was clean, simple and good taste, and very easy to use. There were many switches but they were labeled so we did fine. Opening and closing the curtains were fun. There were many outlets and USB ports. What surprised me was that there were few different types of phone charging cables. It had mine so I was good. Slow charging but it's very nice to have. There's coffee maker and tasty coffees and teas. We bought bread from the bakery downstairs and made coffees and had breakfast in the room. So relaxing! I was so happy that there was electric kettle because I like drinking hot water in the morning and at night. No more coffee tasting water. Bathroom was nice. The water pressure of the shower head was stronger than most of the hotels. It was nice. The toilet was nice too. It has washlet and it was heated (really nice for cool day). Jannette explained to us what is new in the hotel and what's same (manager's wine reception). She was friendly and had all the information we wanted and made our stay nice & memorable. Location is nice because beach, shopping, and restaurants are very close. It's my favorite hotel in Waikiki.

Yelp
It was my wife and son's first time visiting Hawaii and we booked through Costco Travel. I saw other choices of hotels but after reading many positive reviews, I decided on Halepuna. Our stay at Halepuna was a significant factor for the wonderful vacation that we had. We experienced excellent customer service from all of the staff that we encountered, especially from the Front Desk and Bell Desk staff. Both departments went above and beyond to assist me and my family. During check-in, David (I think that was his name, my apologies if not) was very helpful and polite. Although we arrived early, he confirmed that our room was ready. Once we got to the room I noticed that I didn't have my phone. I realized that I must have left it on the shuttle that dropped us off at the hotel. One of the members of the front desk, Janet stepped in to help me. Janet got a hold of the shuttle company, who was able to reach the driver, who confirmed that he found my phone. 15 minutes later, the shuttle arrived and the driver returned my phone. This was just our 1st day on Oahu and my trip could have started off badly, if it weren't for Janet's help. The room was extremely clean and modern. There was a console on the bedstand that controlled all of the room lights. There was a panel on the wall that allowed us to open and close the shades, with sheer and/or blackout options. All of the amenities of the room, including 2 refillable water bottles, were sealed, which gave us comfort knowing that these items were brand new. The beds and the pillows were so comfortable. The bathroom was amazing, we especially liked the bidet. One minor thing is that the shampoo, body wash, and soap could be improved with a more pleasant scent. The pool deck was very nice and had a great view. The attendants were super friendly, but unfortunately, the wait time to order drinks, consistently took long, as they seemed to be short staffed. All of the staff at the bell desk/valet were awesome. Gina was super friendly and helped look out for the shuttle the first day when I lost my phone. Alan, Herme, RJ, Mark Joseph, and Miles were always helpful and genuinely friendly. They always provided us with tote bags with towels, every time we went to the beach, and also lent us a beach chair. Miles even offered a boogie board, but unfortunately I already rented one. One day I had to get our room keys updated to include parking, while my wife and son waited in the rental car. The valet guys (it may have been Miles) went out of his way to make sure they were comfortable while they waited. I can go on and on about the staff. They really made you feel like Ohana (family). Overall, the hotel was magnificent. Every detail seemed to have a lot of thought put into it. Halepuna is in the middle of Waikiki, but while at the hotel it was peaceful and quiet, unlike at other hotels such as the Sheraton where it is constantly busy and chaotic. We were truly able to relax and enjoy our stay. I highly recommend Halepuna and plan to stay here the next time we visit Hawaii.

Yelp
We stayed at the Halepuna Waikiki with the Costco package. This is recently remodeled hotel ( oct 2019). The look & feel of the hotel is pretty modern. The hotel is clean & rooms are very well maintained. The room has latest amenities like automated toilets, room lighting & sheer buttons. The staff is very hospitable & always willing to help. The breakfast had a vast spread for everyone. Enjoyed every morning meal. They even provided us with a complimentary bottle of wine for our anniversary. Location is awesome waking to almost everything that you would want to do in Waikiki. The infinity pool is very beautiful, facing the ocean on the 8th floor. They also provide a beach bag with towels & water at the valet counter for the beach. Would suggest the hotel to provide beach chairs and shade as well. I would highly recommend this hotel for folks visiting Waikiki. It's a foot step away from the beach. -1 star as they did not provide us with late checkout by 30 mins and the lack of ocean facing rooms while I was booking. I would do 4.5 stars if u had the option :)

Yelp
we absolutely loved our stay here! the hotel was a nice reprieve from the business of waikiki, even though you're only a few blocks away from the action if you want to be. the hotel was very quiet (even the city and mountain facing rooms are quiet as the rooms have double paned glass, the only noise we really heard was if a police car went by) and gave us the perfect environment to rest and relax. everything was newly renovated and pristine (pool, room, all amenities in the room were individually packaged and changed out daily). the staff was incredibly helpful and respectful (special thanks to ryan at the front who took care of us following a horrific night at the westin moana and yuki, the best pool attendant ever!) while the hotel does not have any on site restaurants, you are a few blocks away from plenty of options. our room rate also included breakfast across the street at orchids restaurant at halekulani (the buffet is amazing) and a $20 daily credit at the pool (the mai tai is the best on the island). i really can't say enough good things about this place, we are looking forward to coming back again soon!

Yelp
Stayed at this hidden gem for Valentine's weekend. They have local discounts available. It was super easy to book and inquire. The service is excellent, the staff are friendly and very attentive. The standard is set very high for this hotel. They are the sister property to Halekulani. The one negative thing during our stay is that their restaurant isn't open so we had to go next door to the Halekulani to grab food. There are a lot of restaurants around and an ABC store so you can grab food. They are only serving drinks at the pool. You can reserve a cabana for $85 for 4 hours and includes 2 cocktails. One cocktail is $18 so it's worth it if you want a comfy cabana bed. The grounds are exceptional. Everything is bright and fresh. I was really impressed with the cleanliness. You receive a hygiene kit when you arrive. It contains 2 disposable masks, hand sanitizer, and thumb grips to touch the elevator buttons. Everything in the room was wrapped in plastic with a clean button. We booked a standard room but they put us on the 21st floor with a gorgeous ocean view. They have a fitness center, a hospitality room with a large TV, and a private garden. For our celebration we received a bottle of Prosecco! One of our best stays in Waikiki! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful! No complaints as everything here is spot on! Staff -everyone is amazing! Very nice, extremely helpful and just all around stellar. Rooms - WONDERFUL! Very up to date and modern. Choice of blackout shades available as well as sheers. Bidet toilet and a remote next to bed to control all room lights. We were lucky enough to get an ocean view room and it was well worth the price. Very quiet floors as we didn't hear any noise in hallways. Small fridge, coffee maker and desk. Food - while all of Hawaii is still observing COVID restrictions, we were still able to eat breakfast every morning as part of our reservation price. Breakfast has many options from traditional to local! Fruit and guava rolls served with every breakfast, your choice of coffee or tea, 4 juice choices water and milk. Healthy meal choices as well. There is also a choice of getting food from the bakery which has many choices of salads, sandwiches and breads. They are not open all day but there are many many choices of food places to eat very close to the hotel. They also provide pouches with masks and sanitizer. Your room also includes a complimentary metal water bottle for each guest. When headed to the beach, you can request beach bags which include towels which must be returned before you leave. I would say this hotel is a must stay! I will definitely be back

Yelp
Everything about this place is paradise. We really enjoyed our time at Halepuna. The weather wasn't the best for the pool but the staff is exceptional and the hotel is very modern and clean. I highly suggest paying extra money and getting the ocean view room. It is well worth it and absolutely beautiful. I definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family as it is central but not directly in the center of Waikiki.

Yelp
Staying at Halepuna was a truly exceptional experience all around. The staff is the epitome of the aloha spirit and they make the experience very personal. Great location of hotel makes the Royal Hawaiian Center (2 mins) and International Marketplace (6 mins) walkable. Hotel has water refill stations to reduce plastic use and offers complimentary hydro flask bottles as gifts to guests. Key card also offered complimentary admittance to Bishop Museum and Honolulu Museum of Art (just show ticket counter your card!). Some might complain about the obstructed room view but it was good enough for me as I did not plan to be staying in my room most of the time but definitely appreciated having a balcony to use for early mornings and sunsets. Bed was very comfortable. Photo was taken on the 18th floor and farthest right room. Highly recommended hotel and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Nice clean rooms. I know there is a lot around this hotel, but not having a bar or restaurant AT ALL in this price point is disappointing. +40 a night for parking is high considering the room cost and lack of on-site amenities.

Yelp
While it is a nice hotel on the inside and the rooms are very clean and the Covid Precautions are very good it's just not what I expected as a resort on the American Express premium list. There is no room service. Very few ocean view rooms. The only place to spend the 100 credit was at the pool or you have to go to the hotel next door. It was centrally located and that was a plus. It is a nice boutique hotel with no perks but if you're looking for something more resort like Go elsewhere. The pool did have a view of the ocean but it was between 2 buildings. If you just want a quiet pool experience this is a perfect. They has good service. Just a bit disappointed that American Express List of this listed in their prime category. There are much better places to stay with more amenities. Added: to utilize the 100 Amex bonus we went to the hotel next door. It was a very elegant restaurant with all breakfast entrees over $30.

Yelp
This is, I suppose, the Halekulani budget hotel. It is one of several boutique hotels in Waikiki that locals can sort of afford. The rates at the name hotels are no longer for us locals. But these boutique hotels are terrific. The Halepuna is first class in every way. It is not the Halekulani, one of the finest hotels in the world perhaps, but it is awfully close. And the new restaurant in the lobby' Umi, is just plain an amazing place for dinner.

Audra C.

Yelp
We LOVED this hotel. It was reasonably priced compared to Halekulani. It was CLEAN as can be and very modern. We had an ocean view room with a view as pictured below. They allowed me to get ready with my mom and mother in law in our room with hair and makeup artists as I was getting married on Oahu. They knew this and left us champagne. The check in and check out experience was fabulous. It is centrally located and just a short walk to anywhere in Waikiki. The infinity pool I found was slightly shaded which is a plus for many but I felt between that and the pool temperature, I was slightly cold. However, the service at the pool was amazing. The pool guy would set up our chairs, provide drink service, and clean up after us. We would definitely return!

Yelp
Extremely hospitable , clean environment , pricey but worth every penny .... Great location in the middle of everything and close to restaurants and shopping ... we walked a lot even though we had a rental truck .. my go to hotel when in Honolulu !!!

Yelp
Really clean rooms. Great view of the beautiful blue ocean. Cliff and Eric helped us out upon check in and they were very courteous. The service was great!

Yelp
I will never stay anywhere else. The staff is accommodating and amazing. The facilities are perfect. You will get a good nights sleep and be refreshed here. No noises to keep you up at night. The room is beautiful and well arranged.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is right in the heart of Waikiki. You will have access to all the main shops and to the beach from here. The hotel has a distinct Japanese design and aesthetic. The service here is subtle but highly professional. They have a nice pool that is great for lounging or going in for a dip. Not the best for you, but the service at the pool is well appointed. The rooms are modern, and off er a nice selection of high quality amenities and toiletries. We are very pleased to find the shower is quite strong. They also have a sister hotel across the street with more rooms and facing the beach that recently opened.

Yelp
This past January was our annual group visit to Honolulu and I was really excited to see the new Halepuna, which was the former Waikiki Parc. I stayed at the Waikiki Parc during my first visit to Oahu in the late 80s and then annually since 2015 until it closed for a full renovation in late 2018. Last year, we stayed at the large, busy neighboring hotel and saw the hotel being transformed into the Halepuna. What I loved about the Waikiki Parc was that it was a smaller, cozy boutique hotel and since you see the same staff at the front desk, concierge, restaurant and bell hop/car port, you build a rapport with them. With each visit, you see the friendly faces and it makes each stay there so comfortable, like being at home. Walking in to check-in, the lobby is now more open with lots of sofas and chairs. Access to the floors on the elevators and the front door after 10pm now require your card key. Our ocean view room on the 17th floor is full of luxurious amenities. Gone is the desk, replaced by a nice chair. The room has a large screen TV and a Keurig with K-pods, Hawaiian tea bags, daily complementary water bottles, mini fridge, remote controlled window sheer and shades and lighting controlled at a bedside panel. Oh, the bed was one of the most comfortable beds that I've ever slept on. In the bathroom, the marble vanity with marble tiled walls were beautiful. But the piece de resistance was the Toto Bidet and dryer. Heard of these and was impressed our rooms had it. The 8th floor is now the enhanced hospitality floor. Outside, there's an infinity pool, hot tub, recliners and a bar and an open garden area. Inside, there's a large gym with the state of the art equipment and a hospitality room with a computer and a TV room. Our room package included a daily buffet breakfast in the Halepuna Bakery and Restaurant in the lobby. It is highly recommended that you get the breakfast when booking. The American buffet with cook to order items with Japanese specialties and bakery items from the Halepuna Bakery is not your typical breakfast buffet. Another nice touch to save the environment is a water bottle refilling station in the lobby next to the bathrooms. The new Halepuna exceeded my expectations with its higher end amenities and touches. It was nice seeing and reconnecting with some of the friendly staff, but understandably, some have moved on during the one year closure. So glad to be back here, as it was another enjoyable and pleasant stay.

Yelp
Vacation... Having everything that you'd want in arms reach. I used to stay at the Waikiki Parc Hotel, in fact for eleven straight years until it closed in 2018 to remodel and, in actuality, now the rebirth into Halepuna. Many of the friendly faces/staff returned though many have left. The friendliness and Ohana (family, for non-locals) feeling though is still here. We recently stayed in late January and enjoyed the new facilities and amenities here. Being familiar, we were able to take advantage of most of the hotel improvements. The eighth floor now houses a hospitality room (with a business area which I used to check emails and print my flight boarding passes) with complimentary water bottles in a fridge and a large TV. There is a fitness studio as well as exercise machines and weights for those leading more active lifestyles. There is a laundry room with coin operated machines for those who prefer to wash their own clothes. The star of the floor is definitely the pool... oh, did I forget to say Infinity pool?! (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=QwG2etuUESqZG7Zo2hyCkg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) Oh, they also have lit cabanas poolside that are luxuriously beautiful at night (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-45oPlcbI6rhLlDKZFjBWQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). Not enough? If you book the right package (try Costco.com travel or any of the popular hotel search engines), highly recommend finding one that includes a complimentary daily breakfast in the hotel restaurant on the ground floor. Details on that will be on my upcoming restaurant and bakery review. The rooms are not as large as the major chain hotels but comfortable enough with a small fridge, coffee maker and boiling water unit. We were upgraded to an ocean view room which gave me an opportunity to be a faux professional photographer (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Kv6V1eNEWkeP3zNKqnFrPQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). The room rates are on the moderate range given the increased living costs these days. Plus, they have to recover the cost of these improvements in some way. Access to the hotel rooms and facilities are secure since you need to use your key card to access the elevator. Almost forgot, during my Japan trip several years ago, I had the pleasure of learning what a Toto toilet is (heated, self flushing, and, in some cases, bidet). Well guess what, there's one in every room, including the hotel lobby one. If the star system went beyond five stars, this hotel is certainly worthy from the chill vibe of the staff, the modern facilities, and the location convenience. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I can not emphasize enough how much I LOVED my stay at Halepuna. They have so many things to offer from their amazing bakery right next door to the beautiful infinity pool to their tranquil garden. They had daily exercise classes free of charge (I did yoga on the beach) as well as special events throughout the week. They have a fitness studio and even a laundry room! Its hard for me to feel relaxed on vacation sometimes but at Halepuna is was easy. They even have classical/calming music playing everywhere throughout the hotel! Thank you so much Halepuna for creating this dreamy experience. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Oahu :)
