I've Traveled to More Than 50 Countries but Something About This Surf Island in the Philippines Hooked Me

"Both locals and tourists line up at Halika daily, hungry for the day’s batch of homemade gelato — served in homemade waffle cones. Flavors feature fruits and plants foraged on the island, from mango and coconut to pandan and ube." - Evie Carrick Evie Carrick Evie Carrick is a writer and editor who’s lived in five countries and visited well over 50. It is a little pricey but it is my favorite ice cream/gelato place in the island. I always bring my friends here and they also end up loving it as well! Love that they give you 2 free taste before you get to choose the flavor you like.

Homemade gelato. A must try in Siargao. I’ve tried the Siargao gelato which is the blue pea+lemon. You can get it per scoop. Island vibes style with a small place. Has table and chairs outside. And a long bench inside to sit. On our 2nd visit we tries the toffee nogut and matcha oreo. Very delicious

Went here three days in a row because we loved it so much! tasted more than 5 flavors and all of them were good. I would recommend toffee nut nougat, even the red horse with chicharon flavor tasted good 😂 everyday they have different flavors which excited us everyday time. I’d say it’s worth the try!

The gelato here tastes amazing! I tried the Siargao flavor (blue pea and lemon) and the Snickers flavor. The Snickers wasn’t overly sweet, which I really liked, and the Siargao had a tangy, citrusy kick from the lemon that was just the perfect balance. The homemade wafer cone was also a standout—so delicious with a hint of black sesame on it! The crew was super friendly and honest when I asked for recommendations. While they have a list of bestsellers, the staff gave me a genuine review of which flavors they personally thought were the best. It made the experience even better knowing they really cared about helping me pick something I’d enjoy!

The overall ice cream flavor are great! It would be nice if there are some table setup. But this is a must try ice cream shop in all of Siargao! Would recommend!

This is my second time at Halika Siargao — best gelato! The staffs are amazing and when they had to close for a few days (cos of ice cream machine being broken) and we went back and forth for a few days only to find out that they were closed — they offered us gelatos on the house! The staffs are really nice and generous especially Lloyd, Tonette and Clarence. They gave us free Halika Tote bags! I’m giving their gelatos an 8.75/10 9.5/10 on their service

Artisan Ice Cream: Pricey but worth it! We had mango graham, toffee nougat, and salted caramel. A must-try when you visit Siargao. Their main store is at Poblacion near the church but they have some mobile stalls along tourism road.

Had Siargao and Crunchy Caramel Nougat! Siargao has that refreshing taste to it, probably because of the lemon. The Crunchy Caramel Nougat is too sweet for me, but given that im not a sweet lover, this will probably be just the right sweetness to most people. Since i had them in cone, the taste mixed up, and it was heaven! #GelatoYummyGelatoGood
