I've Traveled to More Than 50 Countries but Something About This Surf Island in the Philippines Hooked Me

"Both locals and tourists line up at Halika daily, hungry for the day’s batch of homemade gelato — served in homemade waffle cones. Flavors feature fruits and plants foraged on the island, from mango and coconut to pandan and ube." - Evie Carrick Evie Carrick Evie Carrick is a writer and editor who’s lived in five countries and visited well over 50. One of our favorites in Siargao! We ended up coming back here because we really enjoyed their gelato. The name alone — Halika Siargao — feels like an invitation, like it's calling you in. And honestly, it’s worth it, even if it seems a bit pricey at first — ₱250 for 3 scoops. The servings are generous and the flavors are unique. Definitely worth every peso! You can choose between a cone or a cup, and their cone isn’t your usual type — it’s thick, crunchy, and really tasty. We tried some of their bestsellers, and my top picks were: Mango Float Salted Caramel Oreo Ube Cheese They also have a few seats inside (lined up bar-style), plus three seats outside, so you can enjoy your gelato while sitting back and relaxing. Another plus: they accept GCash, which is super convenient. Don’t miss this place! It’s definitely one of the spots we’ll go back to when we return to Siargao. *07/23&24'25 💛

Halika Siargao is hands down a must-visit when you're on the island! I’ve tried a few spots, but this might just be the best gelato I’ve had in Siargao, seriously creamy, rich, and packed with flavor. What makes it even more special is they’ve crafted their own unique flavors that you won’t easily find anywhere else. Think tropical, island-inspired, and creatively done! The vibe of the place is super relaxed, perfect for a chill break from the sun. The staff were incredibly friendly and happy to let us sample a few before choosing. You can tell they put a lot of thought into both the taste and presentation. Definitely not your typical gelato, Halika is a full experience. If you’re in Siargao, don’t skip this gem. Whether you’re a sweet tooth or just looking for a refreshing treat, Halika is worth the stop (and the second scoop!).

Probably the best Gelato I've tried 💯👌 Especially the Salted Caramel Oreo flavor! Came back twice cuz it's that good 😁 Definitely a must try if you're in the area.

Very very good ice cream! And easy to find, located in the busy center of G.L. We have been there on several occasions and have been very happy with the ice cream, both kids and adults. I see some people are complaining about the prices, the prices are clearly stated and if you do not like them, move along! Karens can buy some cheap factory stuff wrapped in paper, if price is the issue!

Fantastic gelato place with an impressive variety of flavors! It was hard to choose because everything looked so good. I ended up trying a few and was blown away by how rich, creamy, and authentic they tasted. Friendly staff and a fun, welcoming vibe—definitely worth a visit if you love gelato!

It is a little pricey but it is my favorite ice cream/gelato place in the island. I always bring my friends here and they always end up loving it as well! Love that they give you 2 free taste before you get to choose the flavor you like.

Homemade gelato. A must try in Siargao. I’ve tried the Siargao gelato which is the blue pea+lemon. You can get it per scoop. Island vibes style with a small place. Has table and chairs outside. And a long bench inside to sit. On our 2nd visit we tries the toffee nogut and matcha oreo. Very delicious
