Always fun to pop by this awesome oyster farm, even if we don’t get anything, it never fails to be a cool old school family-feel experience. Lots of seafood, accessories, cookbooks and more to check out here. Super-helpful assistants at the counter. Grab a table at the oyster saloon outside if you’re hungry to really get a feel for the place and the amazing oysters coming out of here.

Google
So glad we stopped here! Super cool place right on the water. We stopped by on a Monday afternoon and were able to get some u-shuck oysters, smoked salmon, and awesome dishes from the food truck! Loved their version of tomato soup, spicy and delicious, and everything with seafood was so good. They are right off the 101 so such an easy stop with tons of parking.

Google
We got to experience the final oyster shucking class of the 2024-2025 season and it was a highlight of the year so far for sure. From the moment you arrive on the property the dedication to oyster sustainability and quality is apparent. We were quickly seated in our private class and I was impressed by the friendliness and knowledge of our teacher - top notch job. We got to learn how to shuck, ate a ton of oysters, and got a quick tour of the grounds. For the ticket price, I feel like we more than got our money's and was worth a 2 hour drive to get there. We will be back for the Saloon next!

Jennifer Heinrich

Google
Store sells merch and a few odds and ends. Outside is the food and alcohol. We had the clam chowder fries, tomato soup, and grilled cheese. All were excellent. They had real toilets and a hand washing station. We enjoyed the vibe. Worth the stop if you're hungry.

Google
Came here on a whim after flying in and the trip from the airport to Hama Hama was worth it. Since we didn't make hut reservations, we waited 45 minutes for a table. During our wait we, we ordered soup from their food truck that offered other oyster items, fried oysters, freshly shucked, fried oyster sandwiches and chowder. Their chowder was A-1! Chunky, meaty, thick and creamy with a very slight brine taste from the oysters made me dance in my seat. When our table, no hut :( was ready, we ordered 6 of catch of the day and the special grilled pimento cheese oysters. Oh so very good. The scenery and food made it so worth the drive.

Google
Cute store next to the Hama Hama farm and restaurant where you can order soup, sandwiches, food gifts, and seafood. I've ordered the raw oysters to make shooters at home. I've also ordered shrimp cakes that were good. You can even get crab from the tank. The raw, shucked oysters are a good price, I think. You can get a whole tub or a smaller jar. And you can get the oysters in different sizes from small to XL. We always stop here when in Brinnon.

Megan Schneider

Google
An oyster lovers dream! Raw oysters and other food available even if the Saloon isn’t open. Don’t worry, shucking yourself is not actually that hard!

Nick Stewart

Google
Really fun spot with amazing food and great beer selection. I will be back often.

Yelp
best oysters ever. Lovely spot on the canal. Great people. Not to be missed if you love oysters.

Dave W.

Yelp
Great setting and the oysters were amazing! We loved the outdoor seating and the food truck had enough options to make for a great lunch. The service was kind and friendly.

Yelp
I'm absolutely in love with Hama Hama, and take any possible opportunity I have to go there! While the reservable a-frames look cool, we always grab delicious chowder or a bucket of you shuck 'ems and sit around the fire that's always going outside. No reservations needed, amazing place to enjoy the eagles soaring around the property, the peace of Hood Canal, and get some education about the oysters you're slurping back. And I always love getting fresh seafood to take home! This place is a gem.

Yelp
Great environment, friendly service, food was ok. We opted for the more casual option instead of the dine in. Oysters were really sort of briny, mine tasted sort of bitter. Everyone agreed that the oysters were underwhelming. I didn't eat the crab but everyone else liked it, the shrimp cocktail was okay. The chowder fries were SO good, the fries super crispy and seasoned. The chowder was full of seafood. The fried oysters were ok. Unfortunately, we waited 30 minutes for our hot food and when we asked about it they told us they lost our ticket- we had ordered 2 chowders, 2 fried oyster baskets and 2 chowder fries so...kind of a lot of food to wait on.

Yelp
Perfect day trip from Seattle for lunch. For all you seafood lovers out there, go now! Fresh oysters beautiful views not to mention good wine. Take a walk along the shore you're done. You'll catch the seals at the end of the trail. You're welcome!
google avatar

Yelp
A highlight of our summer vacation! You can be seated and served on-site but we preferred to buy a couple dozen oysters from the store and a couple bowls of chowder from the food truck, and take everything a few miles down the road to the public beach in Lilliwaup. The scenery and oysters couldn't be beat!

Yelp
We stopped by here in mid-May and decided to get something from the farm shop rather than the sit down restaurant. If you are a small group and don't want to have a whole meal, the farm shop is a faster and more affordable option! I had an incredible experience - we got u-shuck oysters, and they provided a bucket with ice, gloves, a small towel, and an oyster knife. They provided written instructions and came by the table and offered to help too. It was truly an amazing experience getting to see where oysters are harvested and try out shucking them yourself! Highly recommend.

Yelp
We had a group of ten women gathering in Washington to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday/hold her a bachelorette party. Hama Hama was a must-go for her, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and make sure we had the best time. The oysters, the clams, the bread and butter, the wine, the view, the staff - it was fantastic. Couldn't recommend it enough. Thank you, Hama Hama!
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful oyster farm with delicious local oysters and beer to savor. The oysters fresh from the sea come in a variety of sizes and flavors ranging from sweet to slightly bitter. We enjoyed ours with just a squeeze of lemon.

Mary W.

Yelp
So, so. Only outdoor dining available. Wasps or yellow jackets everywhere made outside dining difficult to enjoy and food not that great.

Yelp
Two words- CRAB CAKES! Make the drive and get them at the Hama Hama Company Store. We always stop by when we're in the area. In the display, the crab cakes are rolled into balls. We load up on fresh balls of crab then pan fry them at home. Just mold them to your preferred thickness. Hama Hama's crab cakes are crab forward. Once you eat one, you'll crave more! The store offers oysters, clams, Dungeness crabs, fish, smoked fish, smoked dip, scallops, and shrimp. You can get oysters in the shell or shucked. Ocassionally they'll have frozen crab cakes in their freezer section. The freezer and cooler are stocked with frozen razor clams, a few Olympia Provisions items, gallons of locally made ice cream, oyster sauces from the Saloon, and other local items. Hot Smoked Salmon Chowder is available at the store. If you're craving food on-site, go to the outdoor Oyster Saloon. Fresh oysters on the half shell are a MUST! You can order oysters, clams, and Hama Hama gear online. Check out their website for store and Saloon events.

Yelp
This place was OK. I stopped by on a weekday and the only had a limited menu....grilled cheese sandwich and soup. It may be catered to more of the weekend crowd.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Ordered food in the store and eat it out under the canopy. I have the grilled cheese, clam chowder, and clams on the half shell. An employee Er told me to get some smoked salmon to flake off into the chowder, but they were out. The taste was outstanding at the service impeccable.

Yelp
WOW. Absolutely beautiful place to have lunch. It's all outdoor seating, all the spots have heaters, staff is knowledgeable and inviting, and the food is worth driving all the way from Tacoma for. 12/10
google avatar

Yelp
Normally, we would make our way down to Hama Hama in person to enjoy the fire pit and socialize with friends, but COVID-19 has put a pin in that plan for now. SOOOO next best thing is to order online!! They ship to you or you can pick up your order. We picked up 1/2 gallon of small Hama Hama oysters for our anniversary AND they were pure deliciousness!!! We even made our own mignonette. Let's keep supporting Hama Hama! Order online for yourself or it's a lovely gift idea for a business partner or family member.

Yelp
It doesn't get any fresher then this place, a true Northwest Treasure. Especially if you love Oysters and Salmon. We thoroughly enjoyed the Seafood Chowder outside at a picnic table close enough to a fire pit for us all to stay warm. We purchased a bag of Manila Clams and some oysters to cook at home. The staff are the ones who should get the credit for working in an outside kitchen, and being out in the elements cooking for and by graciously serving their guests .
google avatar

Thomas M.

Yelp
Great shuck yourself oysters. Ok salmon chowder. Pickled salmon is a weird one. There's also great outdoor seating. Mind you if the saloon is closed, you have to shuck your own

Jamie E.

Yelp
I didn't get a chance to dine here but I did enjoy a bag of clams at home. They're were delicious, and only one of them had to be discarded.
google avatar

Patricia P.

Yelp
Perfect source for delicious, fresh oysters. The open air market is a welcome feature during a pandemic. We were able to acquire three dozen unshucked oysters at $36 with ice. They have ample outdoor seating if you prefer to dine in.

Yelp
Yummy Yummy Hama Hama. If you do not have reservations get there early to avoid a line.

Malia S.

Yelp
Picked up some oysters and steamer clams and some "haute" sauce. All quite delicious! There was a line building up for the restaurant, we can't wait to come back and try it some time.

Sherille S.

Yelp
Passed this place on the way back to Seattle and had to make a u-turn because we couldn't pass it up. Great location right on the water and it's a decent sized area. It was a weekend, so it was packed and there was a short line. No problem finding an empty picnic table though. So they have a market where you can buy items to go, but they also had a bar and outdoor eating area. While you wait for your food, you can take pics on top of a mountain of oyster shells or in front of the water. They have different flavors for the oysters and you can get them raw or BBQ. I honestly can't remember all the kinds I got, but I remember each variety being so tasty. Also got a mix of raw and BBQ. Still prefer the BBQ though. Make sure to stop by this place and you won't regret it.

Hunter S.

Yelp
This place rules. Great setting and their whole operation is really cool. I'm sure their website would be a better source of that information than my recollection. But what I can tell you is that these were some of the best oysters that I've ever had!
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
I am a seafood lover. I ordered clams, oysters "Fjordlux" from Hama Hama online. They are so fresh and I had a seafood feast yesterday! I love it a lot! You can even order crab cake, lemon and knife together with oysters. No need to worry about anything, ready for a blast! It's a pity that my hubby is not interested in seafood at all...so I had 24 oysters myself within 30min.

Lois M.

Yelp
This place was such a great find! The staff were very nice, they talked us through how to shuck oysters and even gave us some hiking recommendations for the area. The clam chowder was out of this world! Definitely worth the stop :D

Yelp
I moved my mother 92 years young mother in with me in Montana. Oysters are hard to come by here. We were given a gift certificate to Hama Hama. The ordering & delivery process was easy. The extra small oysters arrived right on time. The first night we had raw. So good!! Fresh & sweet. Oyster stew used to be a Christmas Eve tradition when I was young so the next day I made my first ever batch of oyster stew. Simply delicious. The third day I grilled them. Something I have never done either. Again fabulous! We were in comatose oyster heaven. What great fun! We will be doing it again soon!!

Yelp
The oysters here are very good and reasonably priced for Washington. It's a you pick-um, you shuck-um format which I love. They sell oyster knives if you don't have one. It's not hard to shuck oysters and there are a lot of good instructional videos on YouTube. We got a dozen extra small oysters ($12) and a dozen small oysters ($10). They were both very good as far as taste and texture. Nice brininess and clean tasting. If you don't mind shooting slightly larger oysters, the smalls are a better value and will be my choice when I return. Really nice people run the store. The little cafe next to it will shuck and serve the oysters if you don't want to shuck the oysters yourself. They also grill the oysters if you are not a raw oyster fan. It's $24 a dozen though. As far as Washington oysters, the Hama Hama oysters are excellent and of the dozen or so oyster farms I have tried in the state, they are in the top 3. For oyster lovers, this is a must visit destination. Check it out.

Yelp
We were truly excited to make a stop here in our mid June trip to Olympia NP. It is right by the 101 Hwy and we were eager to try some fresh raw oysters. The staff was somehow not so friendly, perhaps we asked too many questions? Nonetheless she explained to us that we should be very careful in eating raw oyster picked from the many oyster beaches around the area, because depending on the water temperature toxic may build up in oysters during the day. Based on her recommendation, we bought a shackle knife for $15 ($4.99 in Walmart) and a dozen of small oysters. Total cost plus tax is about $35. The oyster was not served on an ice plate as I had expected. It was handed to us in a small brown paper bag. The total weight is about the same as one or two apples I think. The staff also showed the generosity of giving us two pieces of lemon FOR FREE. That did not stopped us from enjoying the oysters because I knew from past experience that small oyster could be the best in flavor. Well, not this time not here. Opening up, some of them had juice in it, some not. Some tasted sweet, others tasted lie mud even with lemon juice. It was finished in a few minutes. We had the feeling unsatisfied, but no desire to have more. It was in the early afternoon that we had the ousters. By early evening, all three of us who had the oysters began to have diarrhea and other food poisoning symptoms. It was too bad that we had to change our trip plan for the following week along Washington and Oregon coast.

Yelp
Yey!! Oysters make everything better!!! Next door is my favorite since I can eat, drink and enjoy the views. But this is nice when you can't find a spot or don't have time to sit and eat!! Just come and grab the oysters: super fresh! I mean they grow it! You just gotta go shuck it!!!! Oysters, smoked fish! Shellfish! Get one or get all! It's a tiny spot! But you do save money when you take home. Half the price as restaurant but it's still way cheaper than spots in Seattle!! I recently paid $16 a piece for Hamma hamma in Vegas!! That was the price!! Two dozens here will cost you just a little more than that. It's a no brainer if you know how to shuck!! Sit down or take out: they have really good tasting oysters!!! The best! Just make that drive!!!

Yelp
Loved our visit to Hood Canal, staying nearish the Hama Hama store. We picked up varnish clams (now rebranded as "Savory Clams" - sweet and delicious) and oysters, yum! Service was efficient and my sweetie bought me a cool "Oyster Mama" t-shirt.
google avatar

Alicia Z.

Yelp
Good grillers and chillers! I wasn't expecting much but they over delivered on taste. A great place to stop after a hike.
google avatar

Aimee A.

Yelp
Come here for the freshest oysters and widest variety possible! You will not be disappointed! They also have crab, crab spread and other yummy stuff to buy. Don't forget a T-shirt, sweatshirt, hat or other piece of merchandise to commemorate your visit!
google avatar

Ryan P.

Yelp
Great location, fun outdoor area. They have a handful of varieties of Hama Hamas. Loved the varieties of smoked salmon and cod. Bring a shucking knife... They sell them for $20. I highly recommend coming on a sunny day and sitting outside with a couple dozen oysters.

Yelp
If you are looking for a swanky, but northwest spot away from the city of Seattle, look no further for Hama Hama Oyster Co is the place to go! This is certainly a drive or a ferry and a drive, either way its a little out there, west of Seattle, and a few hours away. Not such a bad idea to stay out there for a night or weekend and check out the other smaller areas nearby. Make sure to check the hours and what is available before you go, just in case because this is a little ways away from the city. However, if you are looking for that northwest feel with oyster shells, fire pits, low key goodness, this is the spot for you! They have some food options, of course beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and they have a store where you can of course purchase fresh oysters and other seafood. It varies daily, so either call if you are looking for something, or just be surprised when you get there. They also sell a lot of other local items in their store, which is great to shop local! Parking is free and there is lots of it, so no worries there!
google avatar

Kristi N.

Yelp
We stopped here on a Port Townsend to Portland drive and OMG! we were so glad we did. Oysters so fresh and sweet raw and another order grilled to perfection. You eat them outside on the beach in a covered bungalow with a heater. Quite possibly the best oysters I have had the pleasure of demolishing, and there were many this trip. I also got an adorable hoody sweatshirt. Do Not Drive by without stopping here!
google avatar

G D.

Yelp
Fantastic oysters and clams! They have an extremely fast turn around for fresh seafood delivery. They have always provided the best service and quality every single time. They have been my savior during the pandemic. love Hama Hama
google avatar

Sandra U.

Yelp
This may be a bad time of year for seafood, and/or Covid is particularly hard on the Hama Hama Oyster Company. The outdoor restaurant is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On other days the signs seemed to indicate no cooked food at all, even take out. On a Wednesday, we called ahead and were told we could buy clams by the pound, but when we arrived they could only sell us 3 lbs, no more, and they had no oysters.... It was very confusing and disappointing.
google avatar

Syd Z.

Yelp
We've been going to the Hama Hama Store for years - more than 10, tbh. Went there today for smoked salmon and fresh oysters and this review is specifically for the salmon. It used to be moist and tender and full of flavor but apparently those days are over. It has gotten progressively worse and today it is like salmon leather. Dry, difficult to cut or chew and almost impossible to swallow. We bought two kinds and they are both bad. Really sad - this is the place we used to go for smoking tips.

Kei T.

Yelp
Our neighbors mentioned ordering oysters from Hama Hama Oyster Co.. In the midst of the corona virus shut in I ordered three dozen oysters thinking it would take us a couple meals at least to eat three dozen. Nope polished them off in one night. A bottle of rose, melted butter with lemon zest, parsley and garlic along with some crusty bread. Perfection! We grilled most but also had several raw. Hama Hama Oyster Co bringing a big dose of smiles when we need it the most. Thank you, Hama Hama! You're the best!!! Hama Hama Oysters

Yelp
We took the advice from the owner of our rental vacation home to come here to try this place for their fresh oysters and clams. Everything is great here, from fresh oysters to customer service. We have crab cakes, one dozen fresh oysters, smoked salmon chowder, garlic butter clams. All are very well made. Crab cakes are fully loaded with crab meat. Clams are so fresh. So are the oysters. The best kind of oysters are the kind called Summer. We even got a bonus gigantic oyster fresh caught from the canal by one of their staff this morning. Feeling so lucky and grateful. Can't wait to try their salmon pate home. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Philip R.

Yelp
BBQ/Off the grill As many as you can eat! Holy smokes! You can't go wrong. Setting the oyster bar extremely high at Hama Hama. Feel sorry for the competition. Came for a bachelor party almost 3-4 years ago still thinking about all those oysters.
google avatar

Barbara K.

Yelp
After visiting the oyster saloon twice, we bought oysters to take home. OMG. They were so good! We bought raw in a container, and I cooked them with garlic butter and breadcrumbs - unbelievably good! The price is so much better here for oysters, and they're so fresh, you just have to buy some! Next time I'll want to bring other things home too.

Jen B.

Yelp
Love my Hama Hama fear! Friendly staff! Always enjoy visiting and getting my kids something from the gift shop after we eat.
google avatar

Yelp
My wife loves oysters so decided to make dinner at home for her birthday. I placed an order for 5 dozen online after doing research this past Wednesday and received our order the next day. I called the company to ask for recommendations and the representative was very helpful and patient. shipment arrived in great condition and was packaged well. Learned how to shuck by watching videos and watched my wife eat as much as she could. The oysters were so fresh and tasted very good. I would definitely be ordering from this place again and highly recommend this place to anyone.

Helen F.

Yelp
We had a terrible experience trying to buy oysters. The owner stepped up and went far and above to make it right. And it is very much appreciated.
google avatar

Shona D.

Yelp
Oysters in cooler were a 7 days old. Lady not happy when I asked if they had fresher ones.
google avatar

Sas W.

Yelp
Love buying my shellfish here. They also have some delightful smoked fish and oysters. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I was camping in Potlatch and went for a drive along the scenic Hwy 101 and came across this little gem. It's very clean inside and the selection of fresh seafood was very impressive. I went with the medium size oysters and pan fried them back at camp and they were delicious! The staff was very polite and kind (very beautiful too might I add). There was a restaurant adjacent too the store that looked like a fun place for lunch. Definitely will be back next trip through! Highly recommendable for fresh seafood!

Yelp
Unexpected place. Well, we kinda knew what we'd find, but this beat out expectations. Not only we got fresh and tasty seafood : clams, oysters, crab cake and soup (on a rainy Sunday) but also a view on the canal and live music. Very much worth the 2 hours drive from Seattle and the 3 hours way out by ferry (Kingston to Edmonds). Strongly recommended for a week end discovery!
