I had never been to one of these Benihana style places before, so I came with two of my friends for Friday night dinner. the place was very busy but we got a table with other couples who did not make a reservation.
This place is pretty pricey, but you definitely get enough food for at least two meals if you're a big eater. One thing I noticed is they use a ton of soy sauce, so if you're sodium sensitive, this isn't the place for you.
Also, if you're very hungry, you're going to wait a bit between each course and depending on what you order as not everyone gets served together. If you're okay with all of this, you're going to have a good time!
My friends ordered the chicken and steak specials and I got the Land and Sea: steak and shrimp special. The first thing our waitress brought out was a soup made with French's fried onions like the kind that goes on green bean casserole lol. It was good and savory!
Next, you get a bag of frozen lettuce salad with either ranch or ginger dressing. Hamada, you can do better for your prices than frozen lettuce. The ginger dressing is made in house though, it's quite good but a tad bitter. FYI.
Next, you get an "appetizer" portion of noodles but in reality it is huge like a full plate of soy sauce lo Mein. Pretty good. At this point our chef does his standard tricks and everyone gets vegetables. You can request for broccoli only, or any adjustments and they seem happy to do it for you. After the vegetables and lo mein, they start making either plain rice or chicken and egg fried rice. The rice is pretty good. Then we get our "appetizer" portion of shrimp, which is 2 a person. Since I got shrimp as part of my entree they just added 6 more to my order. After this they then finally make your proteins- chicken takes the longest to cook so whoever ordered that has to wait around. My steak was good but lacked seasoning of any kind, tasted good with the heavily sauced noodles though.
Finally, you get soft serve chocolate vanilla or rainbow sherbet ice cream. Our server forgot our hot sauce we asked for. But our hibachi chef was awesome and was workin' hard - literally sweating bullets. So hence the 4 stars for his effort. 3 stars for food.
