Remodeled, nice decor, though small space. Service was great! Live eel! Ordered the eel over rice eaten 4 different ways. The eel itself was fresh, grilled nicely, maybe a bit light on the sauce. The 4 ways provided a good variety and flavors f the same dish which was fun. I enjoyed them all! The CP was good. But, these were not the best grilled eel I have ever had!

Best item here are the live unagi (approx 1000nt). Fish melts in your mouth and very flavourful. The other dishes like eggs, chicken and udon were average.

Normally good, I like that they have plain grilled eel. The best part of this restaurant is the private room for every group of customers, even if you are a group of 2

Decent eel dishes, quite good isakaya cuisine as well. I would say it’s a bit pricy here, not really affordable, but if you wanna try eel cuisine, can pop in and have a try.

Taste: mediocre
lack of charcoal fragrance from the eel, not freshed, served immediately after 10 mins of order.
Service:
Average
Value:
Horrible, if the eel was so horribly prepared, there is no justification for the price
NTD1,000 for a set meal of mediocre eel

Really fresh and delicious food. The eel was probably some of the best tasting eel I’ve had in Taipei. The sashimi was really nice quality as well. I recommend getting the main platter eel set so that you can try the different ways of eating the eel don, however it’s a lot of food so come hungry. Our server told us the rice wasn’t very much for each person. Maybe she was trying to upsell us, or maybe they eat a lot more than us because it was actually a giant bowl of rice. I felt like the pricing was a little high. The eel set cost 1000NT and the sashimi platter which had about 10-12 slices of fish cost 450NT. I’m not sure what the prices were a year ago but I wonder if the Michelin Bib Gourmand had anything to do with the high pricing. Overall I thought it was tasty enough to recommend people to go and try it at least once. I’m not sure I’d come back anytime soon to spend 1000+ to eat it again.

We found this place through the Michelin guide Taipei bib gourmand list.
It's a small shop on a side street so it was a bit hard to find.
We got the fresh eel three ways set (NT$950) and the lunch sashimi set (NT$450). The food was okay and expensive compared to most Taiwanese food prices. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.
