As food lovers, we made a reservation in this restaurant because of the very good reviews, the Michelin recommendation and because we wanted to enjoy a special meal.
We were delighted after arriving to the restaurant with a very warm welcome by the waiter who talked to us in our language (French) which we highly appreciated and he told the story about the philosophy of the restaurant. We liked the location a lot and also felt welcomed.
We ordered the recommendation which was gambas rojas and a local fish. We must admit that the quality of the products was very high however the preparation of the dishes was well below our expectations. The gambas were more or less raw with the bloody intestines not removed. When you are served a meal where you have to use your hands to remove the shell, you are used to being served a bowl of water with lemons or at least lemon tissues to be able to clean your hands afterwards, not here though. Luckily we were seated close to the bathrooms so that we could wash our hands immediately. Afterwards we were served the fish - as mentioned, high quality product - but half raw on one of the plates and partly not edible.
Being in a high end restaurant - at least price-wise - you would expect the service to ask how you liked the meal, however when the chef - who also performed service duties due to lack of staff - saw the half finished fish, he just asked whether we want dessert and then ran away. We were sitting with the half finished plates for 45 minutes and no one really bothered. When we were asking for the bill, it also took a very long time after that request was accommodated.
All in all, a restaurant with high potential, however, some things to fix such as service quality and meal prep. Good products is only half of the rent. Looking at all the good reviews, we probably just caught a bad day and received the dishes that were cooked in a rush.
