While waiting I thought about making a review because I love writing, anyways, as I ordered my food the waitress was very nice complementing my baby sister. I ordered a Dr Pepper which is the BEST. And watching them make a burger on the menu was making me think it would take forever which...it kinda did. The Dr. Pepper had a very Awesome design. But here came a problem.... They didn't accept credit cards, but then we got scared but the very nice lady told us about the website which we could pay in. So we were saved! My hamburger looks too delicious to touch. But I was able to finish it. 5 stars!

We visited this place during our trip from Toronto and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. I found a hair in my fries, which was very off-putting. It really took away from the overall meal and experience. Cleanliness and food safety should be a top priority, and this situation left us quite dissatisfied.

Ordered a hamburger with no corn, 1 soda and a medium french fries. My partner prdered a chicken sandwich and coffee with no milk. Never got the soda. When I got the burger, I took 1 bite to realize it has corn. Sent it back and asked for the soda and fries that were still missing. I got the same burger in less than 10 seconds. They pulled the corn quickly and send it back. Still had corn on the sides and still no soda no fries no coffee either. When I finally get the soda and fries and coffee. I get coffee with milk. To me it looked like they prioritize orders to go. Poor service. Very disappointed.

I have been coming here for years with my family. Yesterday I ordered 2 pastels, 1 açaí in a cup, a passion fruit mousse and shake. I came in around 6 pm & The manager who was a women with her hair tied up ignored me for about 2 minutes when I approached to order. She had an attitude and didn’t seem happy to be there. My passion fruit shake which she made because I watched her make it, was HOT??? She never added ice or made sure it was chilled. The pastels as well tasted like they were sitting there for hours. The pricing has gone up tremendously compared to the past couple of years and it seems like the quality of the food, as well as service has gone down. This isn’t the first time I have had a problem with the food and I’m finally saying something because yesterdays experience was ridiculous. They also charge you $3 for 5 little tubs of pink sauce knowing the 2 they serve you will not be enough for a whole burger. You would think if the price is going up so would everything else. The only time I enjoy coming in is when Gustavo and the other male manager that usually works mornings is when I have a good experience. Other than that I will not be coming back. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed.

I ordered from here since back in the day and it was good mid grade food but recently food quality started going down hill a lot and prices went up. recently I ordered chicken sandwiches that had serious food issue, old chicken that wasn’t chewable anymore and had a horrible smell to it was mixed into a sandwich with other little more fresh chicken, scary tactics playing with food safety, I gave them a call complaining and they exactly knew what the issue was and apologized a lot and said the driver is coming back with the refund but I said it’s alright and just give me store credit for next time because I liked the place the driver came picked up the old chicken and left, now when I give them a call about 1 month later they acting super funny and with a lot of attitude making it seem like I’m taking advantage or something in that sort but they forgot how they put chicken that was inedible in our food.

First time try Brazilian burger and hotdog. Not greasy but tasty. Also Brazilian soda which idk how to explain in term of taste but it’s good. Friendly staffs even they are not smile that often. Variety menu and special menus for students. Able to dine in , take out

Hamburgao is the epitome of what a delicious brazilian burger should taste like! absolutely love it! If you are in the area Newark/Kearny, this is a MUST!

This place is excellent, the service is excellent and everything came out fast. There’s parking right across the street. The fries are definitely a must try, and of course the burgers.

Have been here a few times before and have never been disappointed. They have two location, one in Newark and the second one here in Kearny. I saw some complaints about service here but our experience was just fine. Quick and extra helpful. I had the cheeseburger and an order of fries. To drink I had an orange smoothie mixed with condensed milk. The cheeseburger was very good, it had mayo, corn, mozzarella cheese, lettuce and tomato. The fries were very good as well, huge portion. The drink was good but the only complaint I have was that it was a bit warm. Other than that it was good. The place is aging a little but the food is very good. As far as fast food goes this is a pretty good option. Parking is tough but there is a town lot across the street.

I went here for the first time and let me say, the food was amazing. I never had Brazilian style burgers before and I'm truly glad I went here first. The service was also good and very polite, despite all the other reviews. The price was also really good for the size of portions you get as well as the lunch specials and student discounts they offer help a lot. Overall 10/10, would definitely recommend.

if i could give 0 stars i would i've been waiting two hours for my food i had a pregnancy craving of hamburgao and decided to make an online order since i can not order in person and i waited for an hour and still have no arrived i called earlier an hour in for food to see if my husband could go pick it up and lady said "it's on the way" and didn't ask for any information or even the basic edict of customer service to know what my order is they close at 12 supposedly and it's 11:37pm and they already turned off phones ridiculous how this is never ordering here again very rude and disrespectful worst part from my house to here is about 5 minutes walk and 2min drive

Supposedly they open at 7 am and close at 12 am By the advertising on the menus, and online I got a bad experience cause on mothers day I try to by some food for let's say 12 people at 9am, and they told me that the we're closed and only open at 10am, after that I try to pass by at 10:45 pm today to get some food and the manager, I think, told me that they're closed, I ask something will they respect the schedule I don't think so They think they're famous because of travel Chanel??? Don't think so

Their service is always poor. The food is ok but they often get it wrong. I had an issue tonight with one of the "managers" when I picked up they did not give me my complete order and i when I called she blamed me saying I changed to another register so that's what happened. I asked her to deliver the food and to make up the time I have to wait to get it to me. She refused to and blaming me. Did not apologized and when I asked to speak to the owner or general manager she hung up on me.

I'm gonna go ahead and update my review to 4 stars. I came in the other day with a friend and actually got a burger and some fries. I usually opt for their small snacks but eating in has definitely changed my mind. I went for the California Frango. It was grilled chicken breast, ham, pineapple, cheese and lettuce. It was delicious!! Paired with their signature pink sauce, can't go wrong. I really enjoy that their chicken burgers are grilled chicken breast. Makes it that much healthier. They have so many options for burgers too and I'm sure you can customize your own if you wanted to. The fries! I used to come here on lunch break in high school and get a large fries with friends. They taste the same, super crispy and delicious. Probably some of the best fries I've had. I'll definitely be ordering from here more often. The staff is really friendly as well!

Food was good, I've gone there a bunch of times. What I found to be HORRIBLE was the service, which wasn't much, I took my food from the balcony and went to sit down, I paid with card and total was 50 dollars. Later thinking about the 50 dollars compared to what I actually bought was a LOT! I went back to get a receipt because they didn't hand it to me and I didn't mind getting it, later to find out that I was charged 6 dollars extra of tip that I was never told about (of course she didn't say what the amounts for everything separately was, and as usual, people just sign the receipt). I was told they have to charge when it is above 25 dollars and that they had been doing that since pandemic. Mind you guys, the bottom of the receipt says "Suggested Gratuity Amounts:" and the amount they charged me was in that list. Never got that money back. Completely absurd!!!!

Employee named Timmy C said the only thing on the menu was a "Fat Sack Salad"... The meal he served me was unimaginable. I wish I could go back in time to spare myself the agony that salad caused me. I've since gone back to the restaurant and been informed no one named Timmy C works there, or had ever worked there. Leave flowers on my gravestone. The ambiance was nice though.

I ordered here today and never again. $7 for this. i asked for a regular hamburger no lettuce tomato's and extra mayo this is what i got. If you are going to raise the price do better.

I had the chicken with egg burger. It was really big. But it's also priced at 9.25. They are doing dine in and take out. The lady behind the counter was very kind and making sure everything was safe as well. The food was good and the pink sauce is an excellent condiment. It is very filling which is nice but I wish they had some lunch specials.

Food is pretty good most of the time, but service is usually lacking. Todays review is due to an unexpected and 'forced' tip added to my bill. I'm usually a good tipper, tipping between 20-25% depending on service. So the issue here isn't the few extra bucks that were added to my bill, but the principle of unexpectedly adding it to my bill. I ate here on 02/25/22 at approximately 8:45PM, with my mother and the bill came up to 37.xx, I signed the bill and went to the tip section and noticed it read "additional tip." Which kind of took me by surprise, then I noticed there was already 4.59 added as tip. If I tipped my usual and left an additional 20%, I would have left a total of $12 tip. The point here is this. 1. Either the business owner is being a con artist and paying his employees with forced tips. Or fattening his pockets by forcing customers to unexpectedly double tip. Or. 2. The server(s) have gotten into the habit of forcing these tips, and taking advantage of the unexpecting customer to leave an additional tip.

Love my Brazilian food, this place has great burgers and salted snacks too bad i live far

I placed a order for delivery, and clearly told the women my number. An hour and 30 minutes later, I still had not received my food. I called to ask what was wrong and the lady had completely ignored the information I had told her, and put a different number and address. My food arrived cold and hard. Very unsatisfied.

Food is great! service SUCKS!! Every time I try and give it a chance again the waitresses seem to be snarky and the wait time takes forever

We've been going to the kearny location for years but it has slowly gone downhill over the last 2-3 years and today was just the last straw. We ordered 2 burgers, 1 fry, 2 coke cans and a smoothie to stay and an açaí bowl to go. It took 25 minutes to get the burgers and they were both wrong, sent them back and waited 7 more minutes they came back out wrong again. So I said I'll pay for the fries and drinks and açaí bowl ($25.60) for essentially 3 drinks and fries. Wth really over 25 for this. Huge rip-off and totally not worth it. The staff never apologized for the mistakes nor the long wait times (there was only 1 other table seated). Just sad that they've gotten this bad.

If you come to this place looking for an actual hamburger, please stop. The place advertise "hamburger", but in reality this are sandwiches on a burger bun. Every single item in the menu looks amazing. Their fries are awesome. Walk up to the counter or sit and enjoy your meal. The service is great and the place is super clean. Great spot to go and grab a quick bite. Will come back again.

The food is great when you eat in but delivery is no good the fries n burgers are cold both times I ordered delivery they took over an hour and they packed the cold soda in the same bag so the fries are soggy and burgers cold. Not ordering delivery again!!

This Kearny location is nowhere near the level of the Ironbound location in terms of customer service. I was told on the phone that my order would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrive there in about 20 minutes and was made to wait an additional 40 or so minutes with me just standing there twiddling my thumbs like a toddler. The girl behind the counter, EUGENIA, never smiled even the slightest, and was extremely impolite, rude, ill-mannered, discourteous, and overall just unpleasant. Seriously, if she ever auditioned for the role of an evil villanous antagonist, she would get the part based solely on her seemingly perpetual angry facial expression. The sad thing is this business on Yelp is "unclaimed" by the owner, usually a sign that they could not care less about customer feedback, and so they would probably never see these negative reviews.

I don't know where all the bad reviews are coming from because I had an excellent experience. My burger was called "de casa" and it was pulled chicken and i was completely blown away by it. Such a large amount of food for a cheap price. I will definitely be coming back here!!

Had the beef streak sandwich and a mango smoothie. I had low expectations and was simply just curious on this restaurant's spin on burgers, chicken sandwiches, etc. To my surprise, the beef steak sandwich was really tasty. My friend had an acai bowl, with condense milk and walnuts. I didn't quite like that, but my friend enjoyed it. The other menu burgers/sandwiches appear enticing as well given the descriptions; however, it's fatty foods so not something you can have often. I would visit again. I was on my way to Altas Horas last night, but then I saw this place. Turns out it's another Brazilian style burger joint, except it's closer. It's a part of a chain, with 2 other locations in Newark. It is much more spacious than Altas Horas, but they're only open til midnight and they're a little bit more expensive. But the important thing is the food, and I picked up a chicken ball and a cheese tudo. The cheese tudo consists of a burger, ham, fried egg, corn, potato sticks, lettuce, tomato and mayo. The bun here is structurally better than the sweet bread bun they use at Altas Horas, actually the whole sandwich is better put together, it was not falling apart from its massive size. But the sandwich was also pretty dry. Could have used more corn/mayo mix and the egg over easy. The sandwiches from Altas Horas are clearly juicier, I can see the juices from the meats dripping onto my fingers and plate. The chicken ball, I didn't like too much. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was basically chicken salad minus mayo in a fried ball of dough. Kinda dry. I'd hit this place in a pinch, but i prefer my usual spot, which is open 24 hours anyway.

Food is hit or miss. The bread for my sandwich was dry. Coxinha was pretty good, Wish I could say more positive things but customer service was terrible. The staff was rude and inattentive. I wouldn't have high expectations when ordering from here.

Food was good as usual Wednesday jan 27 2pm afternoon very slow, as i was doing laundry across the street i decided to come and have a California beef, which it was cooked to perfection. Im really sorry i can't say the same thing about the service NO HI , NO THANK YOU, NO BYE.. just no service at all. very anemic service. Like if the girl that took my order was being forced to work. Customers can feel your energy and every customer counts, If she doesn't enjoy working with people i think she is in the wrong industry (the girl without the glasses to be more specific) im willing to change my review if someone acknowledges this

THIS PLACE IS THE MOST DISGUSTING PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! alright listen up, these assholes are dirty. You go in there nothing is sweeped, tables aren't cleaned off. This place does not deserve a star. Last time I ate from here i had TWO HAIRS AND A FUCKING BOOGER ON MY HAMBURGER. YES a BOOGER, the thing that comes out of your nose. I felt sick for two days after eating there. OH and to TOP IT OFF, when i called to complain i did not receive one apology, i got yelled at, and no refund for my food. They were arrogant and had no remorse. Lord knows what goes on in this place I do not recommend this place, not even to my worst enemy. I tried being their customer for many years since they opened up there, but enough is enough. Do not even bother going to the Newark branch either because they are just as dirty and rude. You were warned!

Just order this acay and they totally forgot my bananas granola and it takes forever for everything

I have been eating at Hamburgao ever since they opened up (i was in High school at the time) The food is really good, its my favorite local spot to go to for a quick bite to eat. The burgers are delicious and have many options to choose from. Cheese, bacon, potato, sticks, ham, egg etc. Etc. The empanadas and chicken balls are amazing. Whatever you order ask for PINK SAUCE. LOTS OF IT. The service is mediocre, the staff is a bit slow. They have gotten my order wrong a couple times. DO NOT get your food delivered. it will take about 1.5 hours to arrive. I think the delivery driver waits until he has 20 locations before making his route. So if you want your food warm, pick up only!

I would avoid them at all cost. I ate from here before and ended up getting food poisoning. But then decided to give them another try. And then they forgot parts of my order. So today I decided to order here again, mainly because they owe me food. Well I've been waiting for over an hour to pick up an order that they said would take 20 minutes. Save your money and sanity and go somewhere else. Seriously!! They are not worth it and the food isn't even that great!

Want to try a delicious, cheap, Brazilian burger? Go to Hamburgao! You will not be disappointed at the burgers or the prices here. The most expensive burger is the Hamburgao Picanha, which is $7.50, which is a STEAL!! Hamburgao Picanha - SIRLOIN STEAK!, Mozzarella, Ham, Bacon, Eggs, Corn, Potato Sticks, Lettuce, Tomatos, and Mayo. This is my go-to burger. The potato sticks add a nice crunchy touch to the burger. And it seems to me that the Brazilian-style of burgers like to have corn in them, which adds a unique, yet good taste to it. And it is not a small burger, so you get the most out of your money here. The Hamburgao beef is similar, as it has just normal steak on it. They have a chicken burger equivalent as well with the same toppings (with chicken breast instead of course), called the Hamburgao Frango. If you do not like one of the toppings, they have many other varieties of burgers which have only certain toppings. In addition, they have "California" styles of these burgers, which has pineapples in it. I don't know what it is about their french fries, but these fries are good and addictive. Make sure you use the mayo-like sauce with them! I always get them with my meal and they do not disappoint. They also serve empanadas, soup salads, and other random assortments (including some desserts). However, I come here mainly for their burgers. If I do get anything else, I'll get the Coxinha Calupiry, which is a deep fried chicken meat shaped into a ball with cheese. The place has a small sit-in area which is good enough to hang out and relax while you eat for some casual dining. Nothing too fancy here, but hey, it's cheap right? So just eat!

Terrible service. our orders were getting messed up. service was slow. drinks werent brought over to us even after we ordered them. my friend even got charged twice for a snapple. took forever for the food. however, there are some positives here. the cheese empanadas were okay, the tilapia sandwhich was filling but the fish itself was over cooked. the pineapple juice is amazing, you must get this. the fries are good and crunchy, and lastly the hotdog--is a must get too. my friend said it was delish and it was extemely filling.

I stopped by here after seeing the sister shop getting good reviews (the Newark location). This place definitely reaches the same level of goodness! Inside it's casual but inviting. The small tables are clean and the counter displays some of their pastries, cakes, and baked goods. The staff is friendly as can be. They'll swing by your table and take your order if you look confused. They've got a long list of picanha (steak), beef, and chicken burgers along with salads, pastels (sort of a Brazilian empanada/hot pocket), and pastries. The burger was delicious! $7.50 for a hamburgao picanha ("steak burger") with: lettuce, tomato, mayo, corn, potato sticks, a fried egg, and bacon. It was definitely made fresh for my order. The chicken/beef burgers were slightly cheaper. Their pastries were pretty tasted too. I had a brigadeiro (chocolate ball). Sweet, thick, and chocolately. I would recommend their burgers but if you are in the mood for something different definitely try their pastels and the similar items.

I could not have been more disappointed with hamburgao. Since seeing it on Food Network back in the day, I thought it looked like an interesting take on a classic. Sadly, they did not deliver. The burger is an extremely thin, dry patty with no seasoning at all. There is seriously no flavor. I had higher quality patties in my high school cafeteria than what they're rolling out here. Potato sticks on the burger is welcome, but they are not nearly enough to save this mess. Plus they only add to the dryness. They will douse it in mayo and secret sauce to add some moisture, but there is no saving a burger this dry and flavorless. So much disappointment. On top of the bad food, the people who work here give new definition to the term dense. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers, one hamburger. At the end she repeated the order back (this was placed over the phone). Completely wrong. It took her 6 tries to get it right, even though we kept repeating it. She kept interrupting before the extremely simple and straight forward order was complete. Then they are sooo slow and disorganized inside. I was shocked we got the right food at all. Meh, forget this noise.

I called for delivery Spend 20 dollars in 2 burgers fries for my kid and I and we only get one "pink sauce" that's unacceptable in my opinion... this is not the first time... smh.

I wish the positives could outweigh the negatives but despite this place having tasty food. I have never encounter such incompetent customer service staff such as this establishment, if disaster could be personified it would have the hamburgao logo all over. Worst customer service without a doubt and if you order more than twice a month, get yourself ready to have your order screwed up at least 50 percent of the time. Hoping a manager gets to read this and finally understands that it's simply not working with the staff.t

This is a Brazilian sandwich place with other locations in Newark. I had a Hamburgao Beef here, which is a steak sandwich. It is the most expensive sandwich at $6.50. I was surprised by how big it was - it was over 3 inches thick. On a sesame bun, it came with two thin slices of steak, a fried egg, lettuce, tomatoes, a slice of ham, bacon, bits of corn, and potato stix! The sandwich is so big and delicious, it is more than filling enough to be a meal. The potato stix were an interesting addition - they taste just like the kind you find in those potato chip bags and they probably are the same. They also have chicken sandwiches and hamburger patty burgers.

Introduced to this place by a co-worker. Love this place. They put potatoes styx on most of their burgers and hotdogs. Tunafish sandwich is ok, I don't think they put potatoes styx on it. I usually get the cheese egg burger which is awesome. The steak sandwich is good to. Love the shakes and their rice pudding. The flan is slamming. if your around the area, its a must do. I took my friends here one night and one of them is very picky and they loved the place.

Brazilian style burger is too good to be true! This is a very local store located near Newark NJ, the store is a orange-colored diner-like casual eatery that serves Brazilian burgers. Hamburgao offers grilled steak/chicken burgers and regular hamburgers, what's special about Brazilian burger is that they add ham/fried egg/corn and potato sticks in them. The ham and egg makes it taste a lot like a Taiwanese breakfast hamburger, and the corn and potato sticks adds flavor and texture to every juicy bite. The buns are lightly toasted, crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. LAST, the additional thousand island style mayo sauce fuses all ingredients together marvelously. Price is very friendly considering the enormous portion, I could barely finish a whole burger with no sides, whereas girls usually cut the burgers in half. They also offer freshly made juice so you won't feel too guilty after the hearty meal!

This place is supposed to be Brazilian but when I walked in I saw a bunch of gringos and when I ordered my food the guy was speaking to me in English.

Excellent spot for Brazilian junk food. 1) I got the Coxinha, which is a seasoned chicken and cheese balls. It is a MUST get. 2) I got the hamburgao picanha - excellent. I recommend everyone get that. 3) Only down side is the service, kinda sucks. But the food and price makes up for it.

I ordered my food online. After about an hour I called to check in and they informed me that it was on the way, an hour later I call back and they said 30 more minutes. Super unprofessional and I'm not even being reimbursed.

This place is great for an informal meal. The food was inexpensive and delicious. Plus there is a great variety of dishes to order. The restroom was clean and big.

We ordered food at seven thirty on and we never received it . We couldn't get anyone to answer the phone or help us for forty minutes ! When someone finally called they wanted to charge me again after the already took my money and didn't deliver !!! Worst restaurant in town with the worst customer service ! They kept my daughters money and didn't deliver ! So rude and not even sorry for it !!! Do not dine here !!

Probably the best place to get Brazilian sausage and sandwiches. Most delicious casual food ive been to. Everything is delicious, havent had a bad experience.

Definitely a place for a quick pick up. Don't get me wrong the burger was good but the service was hectic and forgetful. Asked for a pineapple juice and then I waited like 20 minutes and had to ask again in order to get it. Then I asked for no mayo on my burger. Then magically the sandwich came clearly with mayo! Sometimes forgetting to put no mayo on my sandwich can be a deal breaker. Luckily they made it work and burger was still good with the mayo. Then to top it all off, my friend almost got charged twice for one soda! On the plus side it was a pretty damn good burger! I loved the fact that they top their burgers with potato sticks. It's an interesting twist. The fries I remember being good as well. I was also diggin the hot sauce. Also the pineapple juice was worth the wait! All in all don't get me wrong, I loved the food but I wouldn't dine in there again. I would just place an order for pick up and be on my way. Maybe the one in Newark has better dine in options but haven't been there yet so I don't know.

So, I decided to place an order and see if this place improved service issues, because I loved their food down-neck. I'll never place an order from the kearny location again after tonight!!! I was in the process of placing an order and not only did she rush me through my order, she was hands down the rudest bitch I've ever had to try to order from! I was so flustered trying to place an order and when I asked her to repeat it so that I knew I hadn't missed anything, she got nasty and rude. At that point I just said never mind, cancel my shit and hung up. The management needs to hire better people for taking orders and front desk orders. They only hire girls with bad attitudes that can barely speak English and get mad that people don't understand them! Unreal...

Food is good but customer service is inconsistent. Sometimes it's good sometimes it's terrible. Delivery also is inconsistent. The good drivers usually call you when they're outside but some don't and they sometimes forget an item of your order.

Ok so I'm obsessed with empanadas I get them pretty much everywhere I go and these are my all time favorite. They actually have a BUNCH of deep fried snacks that you can just pick up when you're in the mood for something unhealthy and delicious. Their burgers are enormous and the perfect hangover remedy LOL. Love this place.
